Chapter 399.
(Royal Woods Middle School.)
Lincoln waits by the side of the school and he looks up to see Nora and Harrier have arrived, this only meant one thing. "Jordan's coming. Look alive everyone, we got company inbound."
The rest of the friends arrive and wait with him, along with Artemis and Freya landing onto his shoulders. "This is it guys, the new life of our new pal, Ryan Rosato" replied Emma.
"And here comes, the limo?" said Clyde. They all see the limo of Gretchen arrive and coming out of course is Jordan, Gretchen and Jordan's new brother who is the same age as he is, Ryan Rosato.
"Hello everyone, good to see you all." They notice Ryan has books in his hands.
"Well, good to see you again Ryan. So, how was yesterday's day spent with the Rosato's?" asked Lincoln. "Because I just spend the whole day to be with my sisters to let Jordan spend time with you."
"It was awesome!" said Ryan. "I've never had so much fun in my life!"
"We went finishing, we had a picnic at the park, we spent some time at Spunk E. Pigeons, then dad brought me to his shipping company and then mom brought me to her cooking class and I learned so much from cooking, and then we watched a movie at the theater room and then talked about the things we like."
They all look towards Jordan. "He had a heck of a good time and so did I. Also, Ryan here likes sauerkraut and peanut butter as well."
Hearing this shocks Lincoln. "Wait what? Really?"
Ryan nods. "We went to this sandwich shop and I wanted to try something new and so they gave me the special and dang, that Sauerkraut and peanut butter was delicious!"
Lincoln is stunned from this, but he smiles. "Well, looks like I got a cool brother who likes the same kinda food I like. You like watermelon-lime smoothies?"
"Sure, as well as cherry and grape" replied Ryan. "Also, I am so excited for being back in school, but not as a Miller. This is gonna be so awesome, sorry I've been excited all morning to come back here and to be your friend again guys. Even after what I was committed to."
"Ryan, that was the past and sure as heck you're not a bad kid anymore. You showed change and now are living the happy sort of, normal life" replied Jenny. "Which makes me ask now, did you visit the Gladius Battlecruiser yet?"
Ryan shakes his head. "No, I haven't. From what mom and dad told us, that Battlecruiser will be busy going all around the country hunting down all of the hidden bae of SUSPENSE. They said they found more than 25 and are still going and I hope they can fish ou the underwater hideouts as well."
"Dang! That sure is a lot" replied Liam. They all make their way into the school.
Then one of them sees something in the school bulletin board. "Guys! The scores!" said Tabby.
They all go over and see whose on top and whose below, they're all happy to see they all did their best and some of them are tied with each other at the top ten with some other kids.
"Nice, we aced it as the top ten kids" said Lincoln. "Looks like we're as good at Middle School as we are at Grade school."
"And look guys, Rusty made it to sixth place. That's a first" replied Artie. They share a laugh at that, Rusty also chuckles too. Back then, he would always be at the eleventh spot and with a low score and grade.
Then Gretchen sees her name. "Whoa! I made it to third?! Awesome! My parents are so gonna be proud of me!"
"Congrats girl and we know that the rest of our parents are so gonna be celebrating for the score we got too!" said Joy. She then kisses Lance.
"We keep this up and we're all gonna be at the top gun game for the whole thing" said Jordan. Also, Clyde still continues to retain the top one as usual."
Clyde smirks. "Well, I don't wanna brag, but I am that devoted to keeping my grades at best and doing the best I can to study all that I need to know and also withstand when history sounds a little bit too dark."
Lincoln then has a text from Luna. "Got a message from Luna." They all go over and read it.
"Luna – Hey bro! Guess what? Made it to the top 5 and I'm at fourth and tied with Luan and Leni made the top two! Can you believe it and on her first test here in High School, LJ is at the Top 6 spot, the last time she made it to Middle School she was at the 15 place. This may not be a top one thing for her, but she still sees this as a win."
They all smile seeing this. "Oh yeah! Lynn-sanity made it to the top 10 and towards the sixth! She should gun for the top gun one and show everyone she's got brains and brawns and also change to be a better sport!"
"Easy there Polly, do not overload on us" replied Mollie. "My cousin said that High School is harder as time goes on, so she has to be careful."
Zach now feels tense. "The way you say that makes me feel like High School is not an easy thing for me to wanna participate dude."
"Come on guys, let's be happy we made it to the bets scores and grades today" said Simon. "Which means when the time come for a parent and teacher meeting, they'll be happy to know we've been doing dang well in school!"
They then see Delilah, Darrel, Allison and Laurence coming towards them. "Hey guys, we got top scores at the other bulletin board too" replied Darrel. "Dang, I have never been on the fourth spot before and neither has Allison and Laurence."
Delilah feels happy. "I made it to the top 2. Not odd for me, I know I'm a smart kinda gal and I have passed at one and two spots back in my old school. So, this is kinda awesome for me."
"Nice! Looks like the RW Cool Crew is on a roll!" said Stella. They all high five each other and fist bump.
But Gretchen sees Ryan looking to the paper with the names and scores. She goes over to her. "Ryan, are you okay?" They all stop what they're doing and they see Ryan, and realize, he has not entered or even passed the test here in Middle School.
Ryan then looks to his books. "Glad that mom and dad talked to the school to let me take in a test this Friday."
This shocks them. "Wait what?!" Rusty, Trent, Artie, Chad and Lance faint hearing this.
"Dude, what do you mean you're gonna take a test this Friday?" asked Renee.
They all look to Jordan. "Don't look at me, I didn't know about this!" She then looks to her brother. "What the heck Ryan? What's this all about?"
Ryan sighs. "Well, even though I am smart and I am new in the school again. I have to take the Middle School first grading test and they talked to Principal Ramirez and she gave me the chance to take the test, at her place so she can grade me."
"That is true." They see Principal Ramirez go towards them. "On Friday, once Thanksgiving is over, Ryan Rosato is to come to my home and retake the test he never was part of, if he wishes to pass in the first grading. It took some convincing, but I didn't mind. A kid like him deserves a second chance and he has earned my trust and respect."
"Thank you Principal Ramirez" replied Ryan. "I'll do my best and pass the test." They then go onward to their next class, but as they walk they see Leslie and her friends go to the board and see their score and seeing this angers some of them.
All five girls got low scores and are around the twelfth score mark. This angers Karen. "What the heck?! The heck was wrong with them and not letting us make it! I know we passed it, we aced it and I know my answers were right!"
"Our parents are not gonna be happy with this, we studied for nothing?!" said Regina.
"Dang it!" Chastity looks again and she sees someone's name is not among them. "Wait, where the heck is Hope in this?" They then see her name is on the tenth spot?! What?!
Leslie and her friends look towards her. "Care to explain this bestie?" asked Leslie.
Hope sighs. "Girls, for the past months we've been here, we rarely even study and we just spend the most of our times doing something else and not paying attention. All of us have been doing whatever want to take over the town and winging at what we think is the right score. We didn't even high light what we needed to learn in the book."
"Get to the point Hope" said Chasity.
"I studied" replied Hope. "Whenever I say I don't have time for a nighttime chat, I was studying and I thought you girls were doing the same. Do you all recall when we were back at Tuscola? We had low grades! We sucked at our tests and we still do now, but I wanted to do something else and improve. Because I am not gonna disappoint my parents."
Leslie sighs. "Hope, we balance between what we wanna do and the stupid stuff here in school. Next time, tell us!"
"When we get together on as a study group, we don't even talk about the books and we keep changing the subject to something else!" said Hope. "We just studied what we can when we came to the school, on the day we were going to have the test!"
"Leslie! We have been busy doing what you say and trying to get you Lincoln Loud and trying to bring ruin to Jordan and then Gretchen and you're cousin! We have done nothing good to our education, and I do not wanna have my parents scold at me again, all because you can't get that white haired kid to like you! Why can't we focus on something else than Lincoln Loud?!"
A loud slap sound is heard. Leslie slapped her best friend and Hope is stunned by this. Leslie then grabs Hope by her jacket. "Listen to me and you better listen good! What I say goes, and what I say has to be followed and obeyed. I am the one running the shots and I am the one who decides what we do."
"None of you are to go against my word or do anything that would ruin the plans we have. So, the next time you have another god damn study moment, you call us and we are gonna talk about what is necessary and what is not. So, when we are gonna have our nighttime video chats, We have our Nighttime Video Chats! Do you understand me Hope?!"
Hope has tears and she nods. Leslie then lets her go. "Good. Let's go girls." They then walk away from the area and go some other direction.
Hope gets back up and she wipes away her tears. She then sees all of the friends and Lincoln, Jordan and Gretchen looking at her with pity. Hope then regains herself. "What the heck are you guys looking at? Losers."
She then walks off to follow her friends and her best friend, Leslie Silver. They all felt bad for her. "So, is this the first sign that Hope could change?" asked Kat.
"Yup, this could be it. Soon, very soon as time goes on, Hope will fully see through this mistake from Leslie and then make the right choice" replied Delilah. "But, she's still bound to the loyalty of her best friend and also fears for her parents to lose their jobs."
That part did not make them happy and both Lincoln and Jordan did not like that either. They want to help show Hope that Leslie is a monster, but it won't be easy and it will take time."
"Come on guys, let's go and get to class" replied Lincoln. They all follow Lincoln to the classroom of their math teacher.
Gretchen does look back and she feels bad for her former friend. 'I wish I could show you the way Hope Pertland, the way away from the path you've chosen. But soon, you will and when it does, then I'll be there to comfort you, as a true friend would.'
Ryan then holds her hand, and this makes her look to him. Both of them blush and then walk as they hold hands. "Just wait Gretch, one day you can show her true kindness and the new path just as I showed you as well. Just wait and give it time."
(Skip, Cafeteria.)
Lincoln and the others are back at the table they always hang out in. "So, everyone knows what they're doing for Thanksgiving right?" asked Stella.
"The heck we are and it's gonna be one big thanksgiving for me and Tabby with her family in tow, we're gonna be headed to the farm with tons of the family folk in tow" replied Liam.
The rest of them talk about what they all plan for Thanksgiving, then Allison looks to Delilah. "What about you Delilah? What about you're thanksgiving?"
Delilah sighs. "My dad is gonna be back tomorrow and he agrees with my mom, that we shouldn't be part of the whole Silver Thanksgiving and we sent the message and the uncle and aunt are fine with it. Which means we're not gonna be part of any Thanksgiving with Leslie."
"So, what are you guys gonna do instead?" asked Jordan.
"Spend the best we can" replied Delilah. "With each other for Thanksgiving. Just all three of us and we're cool with it."
"Good for you" replied Lincoln. "But, I think the best idea is to come to Lynn's Table on Thanksgiving, You're gonna like it there."
Jordan chuckles. "Trust me, you don't wanna miss out on it."
Delilah smirks. "Alright, alright. You got me convinced, I'll talk to my parents about it and then we can go to the restaurant."
The others are confused. "What about you guys? What about your thanksgiving?" asked Chloe. All of them look towards Lincoln and Jordan.
The couple, along with Simon, Stella, Ryan and Gretchen chuckle and they all speak together. "We have a plan for Thanksgiving."
While they talk; Leslie and her friends look to them in anger. "So, what's our next move?" asked Regina.
Leslie doesn't say anything. "Not yet. Thanksgiving is around the corner and we are not doing anything, yet. When it's done, then we act."
"What about, Gretchen?" asked Karen.
The name of that girls makes Leslie feel a shiver down her spine. "We don't interfere with her. Understood?"
They all nod, they can see just how scared Leslie is now from their former rich girl member. Hope on the other hand looks to Gretchen. 'Am i….. Am I making the right friends?'
