Chapter 5: Beach Blanket Bogus
Recap
Chris was standing at the ready to begin recapping the last episode.
"Last time on Total Drama Action… we found out both Brick and Topher are in an alliance with Topher proposing both men playing on separate teams showing this Chris obsessed superfan has a bit of a brain to him. His plan worked as Trent and Katie picked their teams with Trent's team seemingly at a bigger physical disadvantage. At the challenge the Grips got off to a strong lead when Lindsay suggested for Lightning and Geoff to push the trailer and Brick made a fool of himself while DJ refused. But the Gaffers won the challenge when Duncan's mad thespian skills trumped Izzy's… well, madness. It was all too much for Chef's tender heart, and Izzy was clearly a bit too nutso. Even for this show as she botched the acting job and besides her bestie Lindsay she was sent packing as the 4th contestant eliminated. Today we kick the 5th player out of the game in today's super tear-jerking episode of… Total. Drama. Action!
Intro
Dear Mom and Dad I'm Doing Fine
Lightning is underwater posing when a shark pulls up and he punches it in the face knocking it out cold.
You Guys Are On My Mind
Harold was avoiding seagulls on a seaboard while Leshawna cheers him on as he keeps successfully dodging them.
You Asked Me What I Wanted To Be
Duncan is the one shooting the seagulls while Courtney glares at him as he turns she pulls a picture of Sadie and Duncan kissing from Season 1 with Duncan looking apologetic while Sadie watches close by with a wig on her head.
Now I Think The Answer is Plain To See
Beth is seen relaxing on a beach side set with sharks while Jay looks on in concern and fear of the sharks.
I Wanna Be Famous
Staci is in the confessional talking until a makeup person blasts her with hairspray to shut her up.
I Wanna Live Close to the Sun
Amy and Samey are jousting each other with sticks on a large pillar while Topher holds a sign having one of the twins face but it's hard to tell who.
Well Pack Your Bags
DJ and Dawn are busy preparing food with Chef and DJ sweetens it behind Chef's back.
Cause I've Already Won
Lindsay accidentally blows a set up from in Chris room while both Cody and Bridgette look stunned at what she did
Everything To Prove Nothing In My Way
A bear is shown in the blast glaring at Izzy until Izzy chases it away into Geoff who does not see it coming.
I'll Get There One Day
Katie is shown in the lame-o-sine with Trent helping her out as both look lovingly at each other
Cause I Wanna Be Famous
Brick and Jen are shown chatting in the elimination stands until Jen turns to Tom who looks at her disapprovingly only for Tyler to glare at him

Camera pans to Chef and Chris preparing the elimination ceremony until it gets static.

Goes to the aftermath show where Gwen and Noah are close to kissing until they are embarrassed to have the camera on them.

The camera zooms out to show all of the players of the first 2 seasons at the aftermath show as the screen fades to black

Boys Trailer
Once again the episode started with Topher and Brick talking strategy at the crack of dawn. "Okay give me the lowdown" Topher asked Brick.
"I tried to be the hero of the team only to embarrass myself when I took my pants off and strapped my belt to the trailer." Brick explained.
"Oh my gosh! You didn't" Topher laughed lightly. "Anything else going on?"
"Harold and Duncan are beefing. We have a clear consensus target in Sadie. So I should be safe. What about your team soldier?" Brick asked.
"We got rid of Izzy as you saw. I am probably gonna break up with Amy today after she shoved Beth during the last challenge." Topher explained
"Do you have a crush on Beth?" Brick asked out of the blue.
"No. She is not my type at all. Just seeing Amy being that way disgusts me." Topher emphatically said
"Do you like someone here that isn't Beth? I can tell you're being honest with how you feel on Beth" Brick enquired
"No, I don't, it's just I need to focus on this. I just need to find the right moment to break up with her"
Craft Services Tent
The show then showed Courtney, Harold, Duncan, Leshawna, and Katie in line. With Courtney getting her food from Chef and saying "Now I know how models stay thin."
Harold leaned his head in looking at the food "Wish Chef would let me in the kitchen. I got some mad culinary skills."
Courtney however was very annoyed "Harold, do you mind? I was talking to my slop."
Duncan was amused "Aw Courtney, are you and the slop about to begin a romantic relationship?"
"Yes, you and Sadie can go on a double date with us." Courtney sniped back which got Duncan to sit at his table.
At the Grips table Beth decided to sit next to Topher, shocking Jay and Lindsay while Topher himself did not mind.
Confessional: Beth
"Okay Topher is kind of cute, I kind of have a crush on him. If only making friends with a guy as gorgeous as Topher was as easy as making these bracelets" Beth said while playing with a friendship bracelet that soon broke stunning her.
Confessional: Topher
"Yeah I don't feel any romantic way towards Beth but hey having her as a solid ally on this team is only a good thing. It's just that I am not the best at letting someone down easily."
Back to Scene
Jay and Lindsay were sitting by each other when to their shock Cody pulled up as it seemed like he was out of his depression from the previous episode.
"Someone is a lot more chipper." Jay noticed.
"I just needed the past few days to clear my head with Bridgette gone, but now I am ready." Cody then turned his head to Lindsay "Oh and Tyler will be available for the challenge today."
"Ooh oh my gosh, I gotta make sure I am extra pretty today." Lindsay exclaimed running off. That left Cody and Jay some time to talk one on one.
"I see someone is the plus one to Lindsay and Beth and their BFF extravaganzas." Cody teased
"Beth was the first person here who talked to me and I don't know, her and I just clicked. She's like the sister I never had."
"I am so happy for you. You're not regretting doing this right as I know you had some reservations?" Cody asked.
"No, I mean if you'd ask me that first day I would have said yes but no I am enjoying myself."
Meanwhile
At the Gaffers table the team was overall very quiet until Harold poured a ton of Salt on his food. "Real cool Duncan." Harold said through gritted teeth
Duncan however was amused at his trick "Ahh, sorry about the morning as-salt!" he kept laughing until Courtney smacked him
"Third grade called. You're due back in class, bad boy." Courtney said.
Katie was also not impressed "Real mature. Don't you know it's bad luck to spill salt?" she said annoyed at the whole thing, Harold threw some off until it hit Jen in the face.
"Aah my eyes!"
"Nothing a little pepper won't fix." Harold said, spilling it also on his eggs and once again he threw it and once again it hit Jen as she started sneezing and ran out of the place straight for the bathroom with both Brick and Tom coming with her.
Craft Service Tent Right Before challenge
After Lindsay prettied herself up and Jen got done with her salt and pepper issue Chris came in with beach get up "Hang on to your coconuts, players! We're going back to the beach! Ever seen one of those 1950's surfer movies where the kids get up to neato fun before the big bonfire Twist-a-thon? And the bully kicks the sandcastle in the nerdy guy's face?"
Jen sneezed with Duncan responding "Uh, no, grandpa, we haven't. But kicking sand in Harold's face sounds great."
Chris continued on "Well, get ready to recreate one, junior. Two challenges followed by a tiebreaker, if necessary. So grab your swimsuits for the first part specifically these people, for the Grips, Topher, Lindsay, Sammy, Geoff, and Cody. For the Gaffers, DJ, Duncan, Harold, Katie, and Sadie."
"What about the rest of us?" Beth asked.
"Well the 5 not selected of you will compete in the second part of the challenge and on that note Gaffers since he was the only one to try and get the trailer up last time Brick you will not be participating in either part of the challenge which means you're immune tonight even if your team loses."
"Thank you sir." Brick excitedly said.
"Well get your swimsuits and let's head out." Right as everyone was about to leave DJ was pulled aside by Chef "The first part is standing on a surfboard. Keep the balance and show the shark who's boss."
"Yes sir." DJ said however Dawn hung back to try and overhear but failed to do so
"What were you and Chef talking about?" Dawn asked.
"Weather, nothing important." DJ quickly said trying to hide the truth
Confessional: Dawn
"There's something up here but I can't figure it out but it seems odd that Chef is talking to DJ again."
First Part of Challenge
Everyone was shivering in the studio with Lindsay speaking up "When did you guys move the beach to Antarctica?"
Chris, who was in winter gear, said "As some of you can see, we're actually in the shooting studio."
Duncan asked "And the AC's cranked because?"
Chris who looked unbothered "All the cameras and lights get so hot, they could melt Chef's heart. And the network told my agents sweat isn't a good look for me. Your challenge for the first 5 of you? Hang ten this deck into the big blue without swallowing tail in the soup."
Leshawna looked offended. "What did you just ask my Harold to do?"
Tom spoke up in a big monotone voice "He meant whoever stays on the surfboard longest, wins. Not rocket science there Leshawna"
"Correct Tom, okay two of you will stand on the off, first to fall in the water is out winner scores a point, first team to 3 win, first up is Harold versus Cody, so gentleman get your place on the board.
Both Harold and Cody stood on the board with Chris close by "Mad surfing skills activate!" Cody looked at him oddly until Harold leaned over to whisper in his ears "Just trying to impress Leshawna."
Chris had a huge grin on his face "Please welcome the return of some season one fan favorites! The sharks!" he announced and while Cody flinched Harold jumped up to the ceiling like a cat on a hot stove. "Ooh Harold is the first one off, point goes to Cody."
Harold looked dejected "My booty and I are out!"
Leshawna looked beside herself "Your booty has an opinion?"
Courtney herself also chimed in "That's a big job for such a saggy, sad little thing."
Harold "Screw you Courtney, my ass is not saggy I'll have you know that this is a selfless act! My lady fans couldn't handle the loss of this perfect ass of which you can go ahead and kiss!
Courtney still had her snipes "And by lady fans, he means his mother. Seriously Leshawna what do you see in him?"
"What do you see in Duncan?" Leshawna argued back while Harold fell and hurt himself off screen.
"I don't see anything. He's with Sadie and I don't need a boyfriend."
"Uh huh. Haven't you noticed those two have barely interacted this season and Duncan spends most of his time with you." Leshawna pointed out.
"Yeah like, he has gone back to picking on you like the first season" Katie interjected.
"Doesn't matter, he showed me why it could not work anyway." Courtney reasoned.
Meanwhile
Beth was standing by watching the exchange when she walked up to Trent "Friendship bracelet?"
Trent looked happy "Awe, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, ahh much better" he said, weirding Beth out to talk to Lindsay and Jay instead.
"Have you ever noticed that Trent's a little weird?" Beth asked both of them.
Lindsay misheard her and excitedly said "Did you say Tyler's here? That's amazing! How's my bikini looking? Where is he?"
Beth looked annoyed at Lindsay's lack of smarts "Okay, Linds. Tyler is not in the game anymore."
"He is an intern for Chris" Lindsay reasoned.
"True but I don't see him." Beth said looking around
"Lindsay and Sadie you are up next for the next round." Chris called from afar.
"Wish me luck." Lindsay said before walking off. Leaving Jay and Beth alone as they stood back afar from their team themselves to talk.
"Friendship bracelet?" Beth asked.
"Sure, hopefully none give me a rash." Jay reasoned as he grabbed one which didn't hurt him at all. "Hey I saw you talking to Topher this morning, how did that go?"
"Oh, it was amazing. He is my type. I have a huge preference for good looking dudes with model-like appearance, and since Justin from the first season is not here and Topher is the best looking dude I decided to talk to him." Beth reasoned before looking uncertainly at Jay "If that's okay with you?"
"Why wouldn't it be okay with me? I mean he and I haven't talked at all and I doubt we have anything in common." Jay said, dismissively.
"Why don't you like Topher as a friend?" Beth asked back, shocked at Jay's response.
"Beth, not trying to sound mean here but who cares what I think, you're the one who wants to date him and as your friend I support you." Jay said back.
"Because I want all my friends to get along." Beth said angrily in a huff walking away as Jay facepalmed himself.
Meanwhile
Lindsay and Sadie were on the surfboards as instead of a shark it was a tornado aka high wind speeds with Lindsay getting blown off and landing on a wall while Sadie hung on to score a point for her team and her team cheered making Sadie smile.
Confessional: Sadie
"Scoring a point for my team and seeing everyone cheer me on even for a moment made me feel better. Don't get me wrong I still wanna win but hey helping my team win a challenge should keep me in the game longer."
Third Round
The next two up were DJ and Geoff on the surfboard which wobbled a lot until a shark ate both of their swimsuits as DJ ran off to find another and Geoff came off first so DJ scored the point but not before Geoff winked at Amy disgusting her.
"Okay, two points for Gaffers, one for the Grips . Next match is Katie against Sammy. You two will be facing off against our dueling seagull guns. Katie scores this point she wins the first part of her challenge for her team"
Both ladies went up to the surfboard wishing each other good luck. With Katie blowing a kiss to Trent and Sammy looking at her team cheering for her specifically Topher. However Chris shot the seagull guns next.
Confessional: Sammy
"Luckily being in cheerleading helped me with dodging stuff thrown my way. It's a unique skill to have.
Back to Challenge
While Sammy was easily able to dodge the seagulls Katie could not "Ah! It's in my hair, it's in my hair" Katie screamed out before falling in the water. Looking embarrassed she lost the point.
"Okay, we're all tied up. The final round is Duncan against Topher. Men take your positions."
Confessional: Amy
"I don't trust Topher to win, he can be clumsy at times. So I had to throw whatever I saw to get Duncan off the board. I am just not the best aim is all.
Back to Challenge
Both Duncan and Topher were evenly matched in terms of dodging the seagulls with Chris looking annoyed throwing a chair and a stage light which both men dodged until Chris saw Lindsay "Ow my head." she said walking up to Chris who had an idea.
Amy herself saw Sammy just came down from the ladder and picked her sister up as well at the same time and while she was aiming for Duncan, she threw Sammy right on to Topher while Chris threw Lindsay straight up and she hit the wall knocking Topher off the board and into the wall while Duncan watched in amazement..
"Due to a little act of self sabotage Gaffers win the first part of the challenge. Congrats to you guys." Chris announced.
Topher and Sammy both walked up to Amy with the former having a huge glare as Amy senses something is wrong "Oopsie sorry. Topher I meant to hit Duncan."
"Save it, seriously save it." Topher spat back.
"Woah, since when did you get hostile?" Amy said
"I don't know when you pushed me in the alien challenge. Because this we have here is done, I don't care that I am dumping you on TV right now, what gives you the right to throw your own sister in a challenge? What gives you the right to just be rude and mean and cruel for the sake of it."
"What gives you the right to cheat on me with my sister?"
"I never cheated on you, I don't know how many times I have to tell you. You just think I did which is why you dated Geoff to get back at me, which congrats it worked back then but you could date any of the men here and I won't get jealous. I won't care because I would rather chop off my arm then date you another second." Topher angrily yelled as everyone looked at him.
Confessional: DJ
"Wow, I can only imagine what it was like before the show."
Confessional: Chris
"Did you see that?! Oh that is gonna drive the ratings up tenfold."
Bus Stop
Everyone was standing with their teams getting ready for the second part "Welcome back to Total Drama Action, where against all advice to the contrary, our players have changed out of their bathing suits. Hope you like swimming in your jeans." Chris told them which got a lot of glares towards the host.
Courtney in particular was sarcastic "Right, because we're totally going to the beach for real this time. The bus is just late." as if on cue the bus came honking its horn.
Chris had a huge smug grin on his face "You were saying?"
Confessional: Duncan
"Chris actually told us the truth for once? Haha. What's next? Being treated with actual respect? Fat chance. Although it was funny to see Courtney being wrong."
Camp Wawanakwa
Chris and everyone was back at Season 1 location as Chris continued "The sand castle building contest is the second part of the second challenge! To be judged by our resident King o' the Dunes. Make like prop masters, guys, and give me something awesome. I really don't want the tiebreaker to have to go down. I don't think legal's quite approved it yet."
"So you want us to lose again" Amy spat angrily.
"I mean your team is the one with a huge breakup and you sabotaged them so it would be exciting." Chris said smugly. "The five who competed in the first part of the challenge won't compete in this, which means Grips building your sand castle is Amy, Jay, Beth, Trent, and Lightning. For the Gaffers it is Leshawna, Dawn, Courtney, Tom, and Jen. The other 11 of you are free to roam around. Just don't do anything illegal. Duncan. Off you go"
Gaffers Castle
Tom decided to take charge of the challenge "Dawn keep getting more sand, preferably wetter and Leshawna can you pack it?"
"Who made you the boss?" Leshawna asked angrily at Tom.
"I did, besides Courtney is off looking at the sea. So I figured I would take control." Tom said as Leshawna looked over at Courtney who looked glum and kind of sad "I wouldn't go over there if I was you."
Meanwhile
Duncan and Sadie were dismantling the bus for shits and giggles "There. If we're stuck at the beach, at least we can stay in the cabins. I never thought I'd miss them." Sadie said fondly
"I've always been more of a dismantler than a builder anyway." Duncan proudly said
Sadie laughed at that notion "Nah you just love to stir up the–" Sadie didn't finish as the horn honked "Stuff! I was gonna say stuff! This time I wasn't gonna swear"
"We should disconnect the horn too. Look now that I got you here alone one on one can we uh talk about last season and about us?"
"Sure thing. What did you want to say"
"Look Sadie I know you are trying to change for the better and what happened to your hair is so messed up. But I don't think us being in a relationship is feasible. Before you say anything. Just know that unlike literally everyone here I do consider you a friend. Hence why we did this shit together. But I know that in my heart I want Courtney back. Seeing her so heartbroken near the end of the season broke me. I want to remain friends and I will have your back in this game but I don't want this to be a real thing. Do you understand?"
Sadie took a deep breath. "As much as it pains me because to put it bluntly, she and I don't see eye to eye. You're right. I hate to admit it but you're right. I just hope she is the one for you."
"I think she is, and I know someday you'll find someone who will genuinely love you." Duncan said smiling. "It's just not me."
"We should probably go back to the team and away from the crime scene though." Sadie reasoned as both quickly ran away.
Confessional: Sadie
"I am sure people are expecting me to tear Duncan a new asshole. It's just I don't have it in me. I mean look at me, I am bald with hardly any friends. As much as seeing a guy would be great I gotta focus on making sure I look better than this."
Grips Castle
Trent was leading his team throughout the challenge with Lightning and Beth having buckets full of sand while Amy and Jay were building it from the bottom "That's right. Yeah, that's right. Nine turrets, nine doors. Jay, add one more moat, so we have…" Trent demanded
"Nine?" Jay asked which Trent nodded to as Jay looked exasperated.
Confessional: Jay
"We just got rid of one crazy nutcase, we don't need a second one."
Unfortunately the more that was added the more unstable the castle was and soon collapsed.
Lightning looked annoyed at the whole thing "Aww. It's over. We will sha-lose again."
Beth however looked optimistic "What if I tie these bracelets around the towers to keep the castle up? That could help.
Jay was perplexed at this "It's a sandcastle building contest, Beth. We can only use sand."
Beth chuckled at that "No. It's a prop sandcastle building contest. Anything goes. We still have time."
Amy chimed in "Ooh! I have some old fashion magazines of mine I brought to read."
"We can make it even better! Everybody! Tear up these magazines! I'll mix the pieces with hairspray, and voila! Paper mache! It will look great I promise." Beth said optimistically.
Jay in particular was impressed by "Good job Beth."
Trent then butted in "Remember. Nine of everything!" Amy immediately interrupted that notion as soon as he said it.
"No, we tried your 9 of everything plan and it failed. Let's just do this naturally." Amy spat angrily as everyone sans Trent nodded with her
"Fine."
Gaffers Castle
"Unfortunately for Tom and his castle, it looks like some unwanted guests are here," Chris said laughing.
Despite trying to shoo them away Tom's good looking castle was soon destroyed right when the horn blew off.
"Grips win Part 2, and we have to go to a tie breaker. I was hoping for the evening off. Instead, gather some wood, campers, for a fire of the bon variety."
"We're not about to have another double elimination are we?" Beth asked.
"Nah, as tempting as that would be, I need you crazy animals to gather wood while me and the producers think of a tie breaker and I need some alone time."
Woods
Trent was walking in the woods when he saw his girlfriend "Katie, hey! I feel like it's been ages since we had any uh, you know… quality time together."
Katie looked unsure but gathered up the courage to speak something on her mind "Uh I kinda wanna talk to you about this whole nine thing. Beth told me you tried to do everything 9 times."
"Yeah it's my lucky number."
"Like that is so cute. But please don't have it ruin your game. You nearly cost your team the challenge and I don't know what I'd do without you here. So please don't try and ruin your game for me or your favorite number."
"Okay sounds good. Do you mind walking hand in hand back to the beach?" Trent asked.
"Of course not, that sounds romantic." Katie gladly said while giggling.
"They say I am a romantic back in my hometown."
Tiebreaker
Everyone was back at the beach with Chris announcing the final part "The tie-breaking challenge! A watusi twist, mashed potato, dorky, old-school dance contest! Teams! Choose your best guy and girl for battle."
Leshawna immediately spoke up "Pick me everyone back home calls me La-shaking it!"
"Ooh Tom you should totally do this. You have the best dance moves." Jen said, cheering her best friend on.
"Sure. Redeem myself from sand castle building" Tom said happily.
Grips
"Lightning's got this challenge sha-losers." Lightning proudly boasted.
"Okay so who for the ladies?" Jay asked.
"I can do it" Amy proudly boasted which got everyone looking at her oddly..
Confessional: Amy
"I kind of needed to redeem myself after the surfboard challenge. Win this and that will be forgotten like Sammy will soon. Along with that asshat Topher"
Start of Tiebreaker
Leshawna faced Amy right in the face "Prepare for a world of pain, cheerleader."
Amy looked at her with a huge scowl, "Bring it. Thunder thighs."
The dance started and Leshawna's dancing immediately made her team sans Harold look on in horror while Amy's was only slightly better.
Confessional: Jen
"Whoever told Leshawna she was a good dancer is a good liar."
Confessional: DJ
"Yeah. I bet I know Leshawna's real nickname back home. La bomba!"
Confessional: Harold
"Two words, fun-ky! What? I loved it. I will always support Leshawna."
Back to Challenge.
Lightning and Tom were evenly matched, when Leshawna's huge dancing backfired big time as she kicked Tom right in the gut when she was not paying attention or looking and Tom soon fell on the ground in an awkward position breaking his leg.
"OW!" Tom yelled out, stopping the whole challenge as everyone looked on in horror..
"Tom, oh my gosh!" Jen said running to her best friend. "I am so sorry I sent you to do this challenge. This is all my fault." Jen said, crying into his shirt.
"It's fine I thought I was good but can we get a damn medical doctor here." Tom yelled out.
"Interns need to get Tom to the medical ward." Chris called out
As if to make things more tense Tyler was the only intern available and had to bring Tom to the medical ward.
"Well with Tom having a broken leg it is pretty clear the Grips win the challenge and as a reward you guys also get a beach party as well, since we are here we actually have a marshmallow ceremony for you guys in an hour or so. So figure out which Gaffer is the unlucky one to get the boot."
With Tom and Tyler
To say there was an awkward tension between Tom and Tyler would be an understatement as neither wanted to say anything especially with Tom's broken leg. However Tom decided to cut the chase. "We need to talk."
"No, I need to take you to the Medical ward" Tyler said dismissively.
"No we need to talk about that night, I just wanna say, I am sorry." Tom said.
"Yeah I don't believe you and even if I do believe you it doesn't take away the fact you had a hand in outing me to everyone. You have no idea the amount of hell you put me through." Tyler said angrily.
"Look I don't know all the hell I put you through but I am sorry. Look I just figured everyone was like me proud and out and even I myself wasn't like that."
"Really you weren't? I doubt that. How did you even come out?" Tyler asked Tom, setting him down at the medical ward as it seemed like he was willing to listen to him.
"Well before I came out I was a mess Tyler, not like you but it wasn't easy. I knew I was gay but I did not want to be so I resorted to drinking alcohol and from there one day about a year ago I decided I wanted some Wendy's and I made it to the place and literally drove through it into an accident. It was humiliating to have my family see my like that when I did that behind their back so I told them I was gay and I made myself a promise to be open as possible and proud of my identity. Over time I just assumed everyone else that was gay or bisexual like you are thought the same way so I assumed it was true of you. It was short sighted, ugly and I can never apologize enough. I am happy for you and Lindsay by the way and I am sorry." Tom said crying in the latter half.
"Look I looked at you coming here as a negative. You inadvertently outed me and afterwards ghosted me. The amount of damage you did to me is unforgivable. But I think this conversation gave me some closure so thank you." the two hugged at Tyler saying "How's the leg treating you?"
"About that" Tom began saying before the camera cut to black.
Elimination Ceremony
"11 of you stand before me. I all had you write down who you wanted to vote out. So when I call your name you are safe with a marshmallow. "WAIT!" Tom yelled out
"What is it Tom?" Chris asked, clearly annoyed.
"It's been an honor to be here and meet all these great people, but I would like to volunteer to leave instead. I am not a fast healer and it's not fair to Leshawna and Sadie to leave when they can give 100% when I could barely manage 50 with this broken leg. I want my team to win so I am pulling myself from the game." Tom said sounding dejected.
"Well, uh okay if you insist Tom we'll send you out and have you get proper medical attention. Say goodbye to your team and we'll see you on finale night" Chris said, clearly shocked at the change of events.
Jen hugged her best friend "I am gonna miss you so much. Get better okay?"
"That's a promise. Try to win this game" Tom said before waving goodbye to everyone and Jen was still in hysterics crying in Brick's shirt as she comforted her.
Confessional: Jen
"This is all my fault. If I never would have encouraged him. Tom would still be here and now I lost my best friend in this game and it's my fault. But I can't give up. I won't, otherwise it would make me look like a horrible friend to Tom."
Confessional: Duncan
"Drat! That would have been the perfect opportunity to take Leshawna out. I got the votes to save Sadie and get rid of Leshawna as everyone besides Leshawna and Harold I am sure voted for her. Leshawna, who is one of the biggest threats in the game is still here and now I am back to the drawing board. But make no mistake, I am far from done and I will get Leshawna out."
Confessional: Leshawna
"I get the sense I was probably out tonight had Tom not quit. I was reckless today and it nearly took me out. I need to re-assess where I stand. This girl did not come back for another season only to get taken out almost as soon as she came."
Beach Party
Everyone was celebrating on the Grips with Geoff and Lightning by the food as Amy watched them in disgust, Lindsay dancing with Trent and Sammy. Cody enjoying the beach party. The camera then panned to a bit farther away from the party on the other end of the beach where Beth was sitting on a tire by herself when Topher approached her.
"Hey Beth. Thanks for winning us the sandcastle contest. Especially since I blew the surfing challenge and then blew up on Amy." Topher told her "Why aren't you hanging out with the rest of the team for the party?"
"I just needed some time to myself is all. Nothing more or less. Look Topher you consider me a friend right?" Beth asked.
"Of course why wouldn't I?"
"It's just a girl like me who doesn't have many friends. I'm shocked you would give me the time of day." Beth said until there was an awkward silence after what she said.
"Look I'll uh, leave you alone and head back to the party. See you later." Topher said quickly walking away.
"Oh he's so dreamy." Beth said to herself as soon after Jay soon walked up to her. "What are you doing here?" Beth asked shocked he was here.
"A good portion of the food I am allergic to and I uh, I just wanted to apologize about earlier." Jay said, walking up to her sitting on the beach.
"Apologize?" Beth asked
"About earlier it was selfish of me to not realize you want all your friends to get along. So I apologize for that and if you want I can try and be friends with Topher. I also did not realize you wanted my input since we've only known each other for a couple of weeks. I've never had anyone besides my brother value my input so the whole thing caught me off guard so if you are gonna pursue something with Topher then you have my full support."
"Awe thank you Jay. I'll talk to you later as I am now in the mood to go to the party." Beth said hurriedly leaving as Jay looked out at the water as the camera panned out to show Beth hugging Lindsay at the beach party and the episode soon ended.
Author Notes: So I imagine it's a small shock that Tom is already out. Problem was once he and Tyler had their reconciliation which was always planned to be early there was not much left for me to give Tom beyond just being BFF's with Jen which would be super dull. But then came another issue: how to eliminate Tom as I quickly settled on the beach episode being his elimination episode. The problem came that position wise Tom was fine on the Gaffers what with Duncan and Harold beefing, Sadie being a huge target, and I did not want a pure medevac so I figured this would be a solid if unspectacular compromise. I also wanted Tom's elimination to serve a role in Jen's story.
Other Notes: Topher: So Topher is gonna be one of the main characters of this fanfiction if that is not abundantly clear, with him being a strategist like mentioned in the past chapter. Now Beth having a crush on him is lowkey one of my favorite things I came up with since without Justin here (remember he was one of my last cuts) I wanted Beth to still pine for one of the guys. Now it is important to note Topher is not manipulating her like Justin did in Action but also as a heads up he genuinely does not look at her in a romantic light.
A solid portion of the Gaffers storyline is the dynamic of Duncan, Courtney, Harold, and Leshawna as there will be a power struggle on that team between those 4 and this chapter I feel like really showed it and said power struggle will continue.
Now for Duncan and Sadie. As people who read the first story know, Sadie was the main antagonist and Duncan cheated on Courtney with her, kind of out of desperation. Now that being said it was always meant to be a quick fling and not be a serious relationship hence why Duncan tells her this episode it would never work closing that story.
Finally Trent's #9 obsession I decided to tone it down and I will say I will take his throwing challenge arc in a separate direction the show did.
