Chapter 411.
"Something small, and something lost."

(Somewhere in Royal Woods.)
Somewhere in the town, Lincoln and Jordan are walking down the streets of this cold night. Both of them have finished the day in school and were confused about something.
"For this whole day, all I've been seeing is Leslie going through a bad day. What the heck is up with her lately? Did someone send her a message and now she's cursed with bad luck?" asked Jordan.
Lincoln thinks about this. "Probably, I mean I'm no expert or much of a believer in such luck. But chances she has gone through a bad day, which is a good thing for us. We don't have to deal with her doing trouble and ruining our day."
They continue to walk down the street and continue their talk, then Lincoln notices on the window of a store that sells condiments and he's saddened to see something. Jordan goes over and sees what he sees. "Are you okay Linc?"
Through the glass, they see some jars of Sauerkraut and all on sale. The sight of this makes Lincoln feel sad and Jordan knows. "Linc, we should go now. Looking at this isn't gonna do much help for you. Please."
Lincoln snaps out of it and he looks to Jordan. "Yeah, okay." They both continue their nice stroll around town, then they see something coming out from the alleyway. "What in the heck is that?"
The little creature looked like a living garbage bag, something Lincoln recognizes. "Oh, that's a Trubbish. Wait, Trubbish are now in our world?"
The little trash Pokémon goes towards them, which makes them back up a bit, but then Jordan sees how it's flailing its arms and how it's looking to the alleyway. "Linc, I think the little guy is trying to tell us something."
Lincoln and Jordan then walk to the alleyway as the Trubbish leads them and they look around and see the little guy hop into the dumpster and then it slowly brings up a box wrapped in a heating blanket. "What the heck is that?" asked Lincoln.
The little guy then slowly comes down and it puts the box in front of them and has a worried look. Lincoln and Jordan can hear something in the box, something small and almost like crying. They thought it would be a box of lost kittens, or abandoned puppies or some little Pokémon.
The two preteens then uncover the heating blanket and they gasp at what they find.
A six month old baby and the little guy is scared and crying, for his bottle of milk is now empty and his pacifier is not in his mouth. The scared bundle of joy is wearing a light blue onsie pajamas and little blue hat and mittens and little baby boots.
Lincoln and Jordan look around, they see the note with the name of the infant. "Lucas."
"What the? Why would someone leave this baby here?" asked Jordan. She then looks to the infant and the baby stops crying and looks to the preteens with curious eyes and he reaches out for the girl.
Jordan is shocked by this and she feels the urge to pick him up and she does so. She places her arms under the infant and she picks him up and cradles the six month old infant, she looks to this little baby and the baby smiles seeing her, almost like she reminds him of someone.
Lincoln is confused and sees no other note, just the name of the kid. "Who in the right mind would be this heartless to leave this little guy here? He' wouldn't have made it."
"Linc, we can deal with that later. Right now, I think this little baby needs something to eat. Let's take him to your house" said Jordan.
Lincoln nods, he then sees the Trubbish hand him the box. Lincoln looks to the Trubbish and smiles. "Thank you. Thank you for leading us to this child." The Trubbish nods and he goes back into the dumpster.
Lincoln then wraps the baby in the heating blanket and places the pacifier in the baby's mouth to calm him down, then he calls Luna to pick them up, they also need to call the cops to meet them at their house and the same goes with Peter Harris.
(The Loud House.)
All of the louds (Lori's not there) look onto the baby in the arms of Jordan and Jesse Rosato is also there and sees the 6 month old infant who is smiling and looking at everyone.
Leni places her hand in front of the baby and he grabs it and plays with her hand and this makes Leni have sparkles in her eyes. "He is totes adorbs! I am so going to take a pic and send this to Lori." She pulls her phone out and does so.
"You think he wants to play with us?" asked Lana.
"He could be the prince in our dragons and fairies playtime and tea parties" replied Lola.
Rita then intervenes. "Girls please. He's still a baby, and far too young that Lily."
"He's just so precious. Look at how cute he is" said Luan. Luna just looks to the baby and is sitting on the other side of Jordan, while Lincoln sits on the other side and the baby smiles and giggles at everyone around him. But he remains his focus onto Jordan and Lincoln.
Lily tries to go up the couch to see the baby and so Lincoln picks her up and lets her sit on his lap. "Look Lily, this little guy is Lucas."
Jordan then let's Lucas sit up and look towards Lily, both baby look to each other and smile. Lily then goes over and she hugs Lucas who also hugs her, this makes them all coo at the cute sight.
While this is all happening, Lisa is handing over the pacifier and the bottle from the box where the baby came from, to the officer and Peter Harris. "This might remain some DNA of the baby that was left behind, what seemed odd was that the person who left the infant left behind some materials needed for the infant to only survive after some hours possibly, the baby would've lasted 18 hours."
"I'm happy that garbage Pokémon found him and guided Lincoln and Jordan to him" replied Lana.
Peter thinks about this. "We can try and find out more about the DNA of the kid." He then swabs off some saliva from the empty bottle of milk and pacifier. "Through this we can figure out who the parents are, and inform them of this."
"In the meantime, I'll inform the rest of the squad about this issue" replied Officer Schoffner. "We're gonna go around town and patrol the place for any signs of someone suspicious who may have been responsible for dropping off the baby."
"But, we're also gonna look into some calls about missing babies. But we haven't had any, so chances this missing baby may be from either Hazeltucky, Beaverton or Great Lakes City. We'll inform them about this and ask for any report and calls, we'll also match the time of the call and put the pieces together."
Lincoln then hands Lily to Rita and he sees the baby looking at him and smiling. Lincoln smiles seeing this, but then sighs. "Jordan, we should hand over the kid to the officer."
Jordan sighs and feels upset from this. "Alright."
Officer Schoffner goes to Jordan to take the baby away to be taken care of by someone else, but when she takes the baby that's when Lucas cries and refuses to be taken by the cop.
Officer Schoffner hands the little guy to Jordan and the baby clings to her and continues to cry. "There, there. Calm down, nothing bad is gonna happen to you." Jordan continues to calm down the baby and soon enough he does calm down, with small whimpers.
Lisa then thinks about this. "It appears that the infant is now attached to Lincoln and Jordan, taking him away from them would be a terrible mistake and would tempt the little one to not cooperate with anyone who does not look like the preteens who found him. He has imprinted onto them."
This shocks them all, except for Peter Harris. "Not abnormal to me, I once was stuck with a Vulture chick for three years, and I think he still knows me if I go back to Arizona."
Officer Schoffner sighs. "I guess I don't have a choice. Lincoln Loud, Jordan Rosato. We're leaving the baby in your care, until we find the real parents to this child."
Lincoln and Jordan look to their parents and they all look to each other and smile. "We think it's a good idea, we understand what the issue is when it comes to a baby such as him. We'll support the choice you two make" said Rita.
"The baby likes the two of you more, so we won't intervene with the baby and what he needs and wants" replied Jesse.
"And if you two need help in taking care of him, we can help out. We have raised kids such as you both" replied Rick.
Lynn Sr on the other hand has tears. "My son grows up so fast!" He then cries from this which Peter Harris takes a few steps away from the crying man.
Lincoln and Jordan look to their siblings. All the loud sisters are in agreement and Leni sent a message of the problem and the pictures to Lori.
Ryan smiles. "Well, looks like I'm an uncle now and you're both parents."
Lincoln chuckles. "Hold it there Ryan Reynolds." They all chuckle at that name. "We're too young to be parents, also we're just temporary parents or caretakers till they find the kids real mom and dad."
"Yeah, so nobody start acting like they're aunties" said Jordan. She then looks to the officer. "We'll take good care of him. You have our word officer."
Peter Harris and Officer Schoffner nod. "We'll inform you guys of anything we find out about this kid." They then walk back to their rides and take off for the Allied outpost and the Royal Woods Police station.
Michelle Lewis sees the empty milk bottle. "I'll make him something to drink." She then goes into the kitchen to make the milk.
They all look to Lucas who is now calm and is in the arms of Jordan, but he looks to Lincoln and wants to reach out to him. Lincoln does so and he carries the baby in his arms and the baby smiles at the sight of the white haired boy.
Lincoln feels happy that this kid sorta sees him like a dad and he kisses the babies cheek. "Hey there Lucas, my name's Lincoln Loud and welcome to the Loud Family."
The Eagles go near and sit on the couch as well and the baby smiles and wants to reach for them as well. Then Lucy comes into view and the baby stops smiling and has this stare that looks like he's having a stare off with Lucy.
"Why is he looking at me like that?"
They all notice this. "Wow. Someone wants to have a staring contest" said Lynn Jr. "You got this Lucas."
Lisa then looks to the infant. "Lucas is just curious, it's common to infants at his age. But the stare is something I question." They don't know, he's not looking at Lucy. He's looking at the invisible figure of Harriet who is smiling at him.
Luna then realizes something. "Wait a minute dudes, where is the little guy gonna sleep? I mean, Jordan will sure wanna stay here because this kid would go upset if Lincoln and Jordan aren't nearby. But he needs a crib."
Rita thinks. "Lily still uses her crib, and we're planning to get her a bed soon since she's growing up."
Rick then has an idea. "I'll be right back!" He races out of the house and he goes into his car and he drives off.
"Where the heck is he going?" asked Michelle Lewis. She then hands Lincoln the bottle of milk, and he hands it to the baby and Lucas grabs the bottle and begins to drink it. He closes his eyes and snuggles close to Lincoln.
This makes them all coo at the cute sight and they take some pictures again.
(Nighttime.)
Lincoln and Jordan walk out of the bathroom, they both have finished tooth brushing and are already in their pajamas and they walk to the room Lincoln shares with Jordan.
They go inside and they see the crib that Rick Rosato brought back earlier. Thank god he still had Jordan's old crib which was still clean and untouched by dust. He even brought Jordan's sleeping bag, but the Louds had a mattress for her to sleep on with extra pillow and blankets.
The two preteens walk in and see Luna standing up and she's humming a soothing tune to the baby. Lucas looks to her and smiles, Luna boops his nose which makes him giggle a little and soon he calms down and yawns.
Lincoln and Jordan walk in and Luna hands Jordan the baby. Lucas smiles and looks happy seeing Lincoln and Jordan once more and he slowly closes his eyes as they hum the same tune Luna hummed and soon enough, he falls asleep in Jordan's arms.
Lincoln then places the pacifier in his mouth and he begins to suckle as he sleeps.
They all go to the crib and they let the baby sleep into the soft crib with the warm blanket over him, it's still cold outside and the house has to be kept warm.
Sitting near the crib are Artemis and Freya who both wanna help keep an eye on Lucas.
Lincoln, Jordan and Luna watch as the baby sleeps. "He's so peaceful and so precious like this. Oh, this is such an amazing moment for the both of us" replied Jordan.
Lincoln chuckles. "We're not even parents and yet we feel like parents, we're gonna have to keep a close eye on Lucas, he's still a baby and he will get fussy when night falls. Something parents have keep an eye on."
"Something I'm used to" replied Luna. "The feeling of being a parent is normal, mom and dad had that, same with Lori and a part of Leni, and me as well. I felt like a mom when Lincoln needed to be tended too and now you both have that feeling with this little bundle of joy."
"Thanks Luna" replied Jordan. "And thank goodness Lily's diapers are still here. Lucas can use them when we need to change him, and all three of us are experts when it comes to changing the baby."
Lincoln smirks. "Now where have I heard that title before?"
They all chuckle softly and look to Lucas still asleep with the pacifier in his mouth.
"We should get some sleep now and thank goodness none of us have classes tomorrow. Totally a good timing with all the schools having a seminar tomorrow" replied Luna. She then goes to her top bunk.
Lincoln goes to his bunk and he sees Jordan lying down on the mattress on the ground and she wraps herself up in the blanket and she's facing the crib and watching Lucas fast asleep.
Lincoln smiles seeing this. 'Looks like we got a very responsible mom mode within Jordan now. Everyone should be careful with her when someone tries to harm little Lucas, and same with me. This dad feeling feels, so right and so strong.'
Then he feels upset. 'Whoever left this baby in the dumpster in the middle of the cold, is not gonna walk away Scott free from what they did!' Lincoln then calms down and he tucks himself in and also faces the crib and watches the sleeping Lucas.
Luna does the same and Luna smiles seeing this. The way Lincoln and Jordan are acting like parents seems like something she once did, same with Lori and Leni, and probably Luan.
'Let's hope we can find the little dudes parents. I feel proud at how Lincoln and Jordan wanna take care of him, but he has a family and he has to go back to them, and sure as hell I am gonna beat the crap out of the monster who left this kid behind!' She then calms down and she slowly falls asleep.
Jordan is still awake and she continues to look to the sleeping Lucas. 'No one is gonna hurt you my child, no one. We will keep an eye on you, we will keep you safe and soon, very soon we will find your parents and beat the living daylights out of the person who left you behind.'
Jordan begins to get drowsy and she too falls asleep.
(Later in the night.)
Jordan wakes up and she sits up to see Lucas sitting up and looking at her. Jordan gets up and she goes over to Lucas and sees the two eagles also awake. She then picks up the baby and sees the scared look on his face.
She smells Lucas and there is no bad smell and he does seem like he wants to drink his bottle of milk. "Did you have a nightmare Lucas?"
The baby just hugs her, he has some fear in his face. Jordan then hums a tune to sooth him. 'He must've had a nightmare about being left behind and taken away from his family.'
Jordan then goes back to the mattress and she tucks herself and the baby in. Jordan pulls the baby close to her to keep him warm. Lucas snuggles closer to her and he slowly drifts off to sleep.
Jordan smiles and she kisses his forehead. "Goodnight Lucas, sleep tight and don't worry, mommy Jordan will keep you safe, all night."
"Me too." Lincoln goes over and he sleeps on the other side of the baby and he looks to Jordan and smiles.
Jordan smiles as well and they both share a small kiss and they snuggle close to the baby and soon both preteens fall asleep, with little Lucas between them and snuggling close to his temporary mom and dad.

A/N: Looks like Lincoln and Jordan are gonna enjoy being temporary parents, but it won't last long when Lucas's real parents show up. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
