Harrison's POV
The contract was straightforward and Harrison couldn't find anything to argue against. From what he could tell only those of age would fight with the Dark Lord. They would not be marked so it would make it easier for them to hide.
When he stepped back Willard stepped forward to make the vow. Harrison watched with interest as the two men clasped each other's wrists. Another man stepped forward with his wand.
The man pointed his wand at the wrists and began, "Does the White Wolf clan swear to fight alongside the Dark Lord against the Light?"
"We do."
Golden magic swirled around the men in response. It burned a scar into each man's wrist a physical reminder of the promise. There was a tug on his magical core in response. This was the first time he had felt such a thing. Was this what it was like to be bound to another? How strange. He didnt feel inclined to fight anyone. Just as if he was connected to others.
"Do you, Lord Voldemort, swear to protect the White Wolf clan and adhere to the treaty?"
"I do."
There was another tug on his core. Magic had interested from the very first day he was introduced to it. This was something he heard about briefly from Ron but had never seen. Dire consequences awaited anyone who broke an unbreakable vow.
Being connected felt almost like the pack bond. They were both tightening their grip on him constantly. His bond ensuring that he would make the change. The vow ensuring that he wouldn't return to Dumbledore's views.
At this point, even without the vow, he doubted he would return to the Light. He had seen how prejudice they were against creatures. Remus was the only creature amongst them and he was still met with suspicion.
The first war was terrible they had lost a lot of good wizards. Harrison understood that two of the casualties had been his own parents. That didnt make what they did to Remus right.
It was why he would stand by the pack rather than the Light. No matter his decision he knew that they would support him.
The two leaders released hands and the magic settled. As Willard turned to face them something inside Harrison shifted. It was as if the whole world turned on its axis. Around him, the world went grey and black instead of its usual colors. Voices of the pack could be heard louder than ever.
One in particular was Tyler's voice trying to break through the sea. Harrison tried to force the voices out. To focus on his physical body but something was calling to him. It told him to run and never stop. What was happening to him?
Warm hands landed on his shoulder and a muddled voice could be heard, "Focus on me child. That's it just focus on my voice."
Slowly taking in deep breaths to force his panic down he followed the instructions of the voice. Color bled into the world around him and he slumped against Willard.
Harrison asked once he regained his breath, "What the hell was that?"
Willard replied with a frown, "That is your wolf warning you. Your change is almost upon you, Harrison."
Harrison growled, "I thought there were supposed to be more warning. Not everything going Star War on me."
Willard chuckled in amusement, "That is the warning."
Fuck. It was as if the world was out to make his life infinitely more complicated. What to do now?
Voldemort said drawing their attention upwards, "Take care of Potter. Have him send me an owl when you figure out who you will be sending to aid me."
"Of course."
With that, the Dark Lord left without a glance back. That man was getting stranger and stranger every time Harrison saw him. What happened to the insane Dark Lord he had met? If he regained his sanity that was good for creatures bad for the Light.
It didn't mean that Harrison trusts him though. If there was one person that could figure out a way around the bond it was a sane Voldemort.
Shaking his head he allowed Willard to pull him to his feet. The man said to Matthew, "Matt, you should prepare your house over the coming days. He will either change next week or next month."
That was when the full lunar cycle happened to those outside of Wolf Lake. Inner wolves still changed with the tide and he would be no different. With his Potter luck, it would be next month that he changed. When he was back at Hogwarts away from the pack.
Willard's eyes immediately fell upon him, Harrison having projected his thoughts on accident. That was another thing he had to learn to control. Projecting his thoughts across the bond was dangerous. Especially over controversial topics.
Willard sighed, "You are hellbent on returning to that school. Arent you? Even though it's not safe for our kind there."
Harrison grinned, "I was considering staying actually. But Hogwarts was my first home and I cannot just abandon it. Besides, you will need someone who can keep an eye on things without arousing suspicion. I'm the pack's best bet."
It was the truth. Hogwarts would be dangerous for him. If found out they could try to throw him in Azkaban or worse. He had little doubt the Ministry would be happy to be rid of him. They all thought he was a liar according to the post.
The pack would need eyes and ears with the Light. Even though he didnt want to fight he could still help those who took him in without hesitation. They had become his family and he would do everything he could to keep his family.
Willard sighed his grey eyes locking with green, "Fine it is your choice on this matter. You will find a way to meet with Tyler should you not change next week. The consequences of trying to change alone are fatal."
"Yes, sir."
