TDZ Chapter 5

Noah was walking through the forest, it was still dark outside. The only sounds that could be heard were the sounds of owls and wind blowing.

"...n…."

He looked around. He swore he heard someone or something.

"N….No..Noah…."

The voice sounded clearer now. He recognised that voice. A voice he thought he would never hear again. Emma's voice.

His eyes widened as he picked up his pace towards the voice.

"Noah…"

The voice started to sound more agitated. Sweat started forming on his brow as he got closer.

"N-noah!"

He ran through a few bushes, pushed branches away and almost tripped on a hole. He looked determined as the voice got louder.

"Noah!"

He pushed through a bush and saw Emma there, his eyes widened and then softened as he saw her.

"Emma... " he gave a soft smile as he saw her, she looked like her usual self, as she saw him, he saw her give a nice sweet smile.

Suddenly the blue intern shows up and grabs her.

His eyes widened. "E-Emma!" He jumped towards and before he knew it, he saw the intern throw Emma into a tree, killing her on impact, he saw the blood drip from her head.

"N-no!" he froze in fear, heart beating fast as the intern started walking closer to Noah, preparing an attack.

"G-gh.."

The intern dashed towards him, and-

"Ahh!" Noah opened his eyes and shot upwards breathing heavily. "Gh… what... where?"

"Something wrong?" He heard Dwayne say from the other side of the now distinguished fire, he was sitting down relaxing. It was morning.

"O-oh... I… I had a dream I guess." He blinked.

"I'm guessing a bad one? You look as white as snow" he chuckled a little.

"Yeah. A very bad one." he looked down a little.

"Want to talk about it, my boy?"

"I'm good for now." He sighed a little.

Dwayne nodded and got up, he stretched a bit. "Ah… Anyway, we should get going."

"You seem very chipper to go." He blinked and stood up also.

"Well better to start now, we got many mile-"

The sound of wheels and horses can be heard.

"Hm?" Noah glanced across to the path and suddenly a horse-drawn carriage zoomed past them.

"H-hey!" Shouted Noah, he started running a bit towards it but it was already gone. "Gh.." he clenched his fists a bit.

"Hey little man, it'll be ok" Dwayne smiles.

Noah frowned and looked back at Dwayne. "Let's go." he started walking.

Dwayne followed on and they continued their trek.

"Aren't we glad it hasn't rained yet, would suck if it was pouring right now, wait, I might've jinxed it now," Dwayne said as he looked up at the sky.

Noah let out a little groan. "Oh don't worry, jinxes aren't real, they are an excuse to scapegoat someone." he frowned.

"Well if it does rain, maybe that's my power" He smirked.

"Wow. Such an amazing power, you can water plants" He frowned.

"Hmmm well, it sounded cool to me anyway. Junior usually forgets to water plants, so having the power to water plants would be really useful" Dwayne smiled.

Noah blinked and continued forward.

A melody could be heard in the distance.

"Hm?" Noah blinked and tilted his head. "Is that music I hear?"

"Ooo maybe there's a radio somewhere" Dwayne clapped his hands happily.

"Why would there be a radio in the forest?" He frowned.

"Well if it's not radio then what else could it be?" asked Dwayne

Noah moved his head to get a better hear of the sound. "Sounds like… a guitar?"

Dwayne started moving while clapping his hands with the beat. "Woo! This is some good stuff!"

Noah sighed a little and followed with him. "Should be close by, its a guitar, it's not exactly loud."

As the tunes continued some singing could be heard.

"Wait. I think I recognise that voice" he concentrated a little.

"Oh, are they famous?"

"I mean… kinda? About as famous as the rest of us."

"Oh, who are they then?" He smiled.

"I'm not 100% sure so I won't say yet, let's just get there." He continued tracking the sound.

As he walked he pushed through a couple of branches and found a little opening inside a little cave area. "Huh... it's coming from inside here, I think we can squeeze through."

"Oo how fun, let's go then" he smiled.

They then squeezed through the crevice and on the other side wasn't the cave they expected. It was an opening to an indoor lake, the lake wasn't that large, about the size of 3 large puddles. There was a blue hue of light which lit up the room, fireflies everywhere shining the area.

However, all this wasn't the thing that caught their eye, what got their attention was a fellow who was sitting on a rock near the lake singing and playing the guitar. He opened his eyes and stopped singing.

"Oh hey! Fancy seeing you guys here." He said.

"T-Trent?" Noah blinked. "Why.. why are you in a cave? Wait why are you even here?" He frowned.

"I could ask you the same thing man, I just like woke up nearby after seeing you and that intern's stuff" Trent raised an eyebrow.

"Wait.. you were there?"

"Yeah, I was with Gwen on a hill nearby until that light happened. Crazy stuff huh?"

"Yeah.. just a bit, so you've been just residing here?" Noah raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I found this place nearby, it was actually pretty wild, there was even a guitar inside." Trent smiled as he gave the guitar a strum.

"A… guitar…? Why was there a guitar in here." He frowned.

"If I knew, I'd say man. I'm just glad someone found me, singing by yourself isn't always fun, especially when you don't know where you are" He looked at Dwayne. "Oh, and who's this? Aren't you the dad from RR?"

Dwayne suddenly perked up. "Yes! I am actually! Hii!" He ran over and almost tripped. "Woah!" He grabbed Trent's hand into a handshake. "The name's Dwayne! Nice to meet you, Trent! Oo a firm handshake there. Very manly" He smiled.

Trent simply rose an eyebrow at Noah while Noah just shrugged.

"Ooo what can you play then?" Dwayne snapped his fingers into a little beat.

"Well, quite a few pieces actually. I've been playing for years, I enjoy it. I could play a song if you want." Trent smiled.

"Ooo please do!" Dwayne clapped his hands together happily.

"Erm. I don't want to ruin the moment here but we should probably figure a way to go to that town. I don't think we can just survive in this cave." Noah frowned.

"Town?" Trent blinked.

"Yeah, we found a signpost near a bridge which is nearby. It says in like 100 miles we will be at a town." Noah then looked around. "As much as this cave looks nice, I would personally prefer a bed and actual people. As much as I hate to say." he frowned.

"Still the grumpy know it all I know eh Noah?" Trent smiled.

"Right." Noah frowned.

As they bickered off a bit they suddenly heard footsteps outside.

"Oh? You guys hear that?" Dwayne said.

"Were those footsteps?" Trent asked.

"Sounded like it." Noah blinked and raised an eyebrow.

Dwayne started walking towards the entrance. "Hey! Anyone there?"

"Are you sure you should be alerting them of where we are?" Noah frowned.

"Oh, it will be fine! I bet they are friendly" He poked his head through the entrance. "Hello?" He looked around and in the distance, he saw the blue intern. Dwayne's eyes widened as he saw the blue intern spot him and give him direct eye contact. "Ah!" He shot his head back inside.

Noah looked at Dwayne perplexed. "What was that about?"

"The creepy intern that attacked us by the apple tree is here!" Dwayne started shaking a bit. "And I don't have any apples to fight them with!"

"Intern? Apples? What" Trent raised an eyebrow.

"Basically there was this creepy intern that attacked us an-" Noah spoke.

"They had powers and Noah had powers and boom boom!" Dwayne shouted.

"Man I'm so confused right now… wait… hey you know I found something interesting about myself yesterday actually " Trent blinked then smirked.

"This isn't the time for sharing life events, Trent!" Noah blinked before he saw the intern go through the crack.

"..." they looked at the group.

The intern looked bruised, skin even bluer than before, they looked very mad and glowed their similar aura.

Noah breathed heavily a bit.

Would be nice if I had my weird powers right now. Whoever gave me them before, how about you do that.

They stepped closer.

Trent smirked and held his guitar, he looked at the intern. "Guys cover your ears."

"Why? Are you going to sing?" Noah frowned.

"Awh but I want to hear from you!" Dwayne pleaded.

"Guys please just do it, trust me" he put his fingers on the strings of his guitar, his other hand is positioned on an A minor. He nodded at the duo.

They nodded back and covered their ears the best they could. Noah still looked a bit confused and suspicious.

Trent strummed his guitar and it glowed a little, the guitar itself let out a tiny yellow like soundwave around the cave area, as it hit Noah, Dwayne and the Intern, they started feeling some effects. The intern suddenly got dazed and could barely focus. The duo was not as affected.

"Wowoah" Noah almost fell.

Trent grabbed their arms. "Let's go, quick dudes, it doesn't last long." He helped them get out of the cavern.

"What even was that?" Dwayne said and blinked as he tried to keep focus.

"J-just keep running for now! Trent go over there!" Noah pointed north.

He nodded and took them in the direction until they reached the path.

"Ohh it's our path." Dwayne smiled. "Our lovely path at last."

"It's just a footpath, Dwayne." Noah frowned.

"Yes but it's a familiar sight, it's nice to see" He smiled brightly.

Noah looked at Trent, perplexed. "So. What was that about back there?"

"Well, yesterday I was just playing with my new guitar as usual. Doing my usual stuff and well suddenly that effect you saw before happened and it was just weird."

"I decided to keep just seeing how I could recreate it and I discovered it was whenever I was thinking of doing it and was playing an A minor. I actually tested it out on some animals nearby, honestly, it's the reason I've been able to find food..." Trent looks away a little guilty.

"Well. Anything to survive I guess." Noah blinked. "You think it's you or the guitar?"

"I… don't know. I've only tried it with this guitar so who knows. I'd imagine the guitar, would be weird if I could do that right?" Trent chuckled lightly.

"I mean. It's not abnormal considering all that's happened so far." Noah frowned.

"Yeah, the documentaries I watched were sometimes wrong when here, I can't believe it myself," Dwayne commented.

"So you said you had powers too, Noah?" Trent asked.

"I guess? It was a one time deal, Dwayne was in trouble and that same blue intern just came up and I felt some force inside of me. It made me more powerful but I have no idea how to get it back" He looked at his hands.

"I'm sure it will come back eventually boy" Dwayne smiled.

"Hm…"

Trent looked at the two and just kept the guitar on his back for now on a sling. "So this is where you're going up from?"

Noah nodded. "We are going to a city nearby, you're free to come if you want."

Trent smiled. "I'd love that, beats this forest I can say that."

"Wooo another friend, part of the Dwayne gang" Dwayne smiled and did his signature double phone sign.

"Is he... Always like this?" Trent raised an eyebrow.

"You get used to it. It's kinda nice having someone positive around actually." Noah let out a small smirk.

"That doesn't sound like you at all Noah." Trent chuckled.

"Well… these few days have been something. I guess it did have an effect" He started walking as the other two followed.

"Well let's see what this place has in store for us my friends," Trent said.

"Ooo I'm sure it will all be fine" Dwayne smiled.

"I hope so Dwayne," Noah said.

"I really do."
