TDZ Chapter 6
The trio was currently walking along the path as usual. It's been a day since Trent joined the gang.
Dwayne strutted ahead happily, grinning and enjoying the scenery around him. It was a beautiful day outside, no clouds, just sun. It was warm.
Noah and Trent trailed behind as they talked a little bit.
"I never actually got to ask you this Trent but what exactly happened during that light event? I know you were nearby watching me when it happened. You were with Gwen, right? Where did she go?" Noah asked.
Trent stayed silent for a moment before he let out a small sigh. "Well. As I said before, that intern grabbed that light rock thing and well you know the rest. And Gwen? Well, I'm not sure. I hope she's ok though." he looked down.
"I'm sure she's fine." Noah looked at him.
Trent let out a small smile. "Oh, I'm definitely sure she's fine. She's a strong woman after all, but I'm always one to worry you know?"
Noah nodded.
"Sounds like someone has a little crushhhh" Dwayne teased from the front.
"It's not like that at all. We are just friends. Like, we already dated once and well we kinda agreed that would be the only time. I'm just glad we're still friends despite what happened afterwards."
"Righhhttt You know I was like that with my now wife. When I was younger we would always say 'no we aren't dating' blah blah blah but really anyone other than us could see that we were meant for each other." He smiled.
Trent let out a smile. "As I said before, it's nothing like that ok?"
Noah rolled his eyes at the two.
"You're smiling though," Dwayne chuckled.
Trent let out a small blush before he shook his head a bit and cleared it. "Yeah yeah, anyway. What are the plans when we get to the town?"
"Stay the night and ask questions I guess, someone must know something right?" Noah said.'
"I hope so, I can't wait to see junior and my wife again!" Dwayne smiled.
"Well man, I'm glad we all have something to look forward to then" Trent also smiled.
They continued to stroll along the path for now.
They heard the sound of horseshoes and wheels in the distance behind them.
The group jumped a bit and looked back. They saw a carriage coming their way.
"Oh! Here's a chance now guys" Trent said.
Dwayne raised his arms and swung them back and forth. "Hey hey! Stopp!"
The carriage was going full speed, the person controlling it saw the trio and tugged hard on his horse lead. The carriage stopped to a halt just in front of Dwayne.
"W-Woah that was close," Dwayne said.
"You're really trying to die huh Dwayne?" Noah said.
"Nono. All according to my plan" Dwayne said and smiled.
"Heyy! Watch where you're going!" A man from inside the carriage shouted as he popped his head out.
He has light blue skin, green eyes and elf-like ears, he had short white hair and was wearing a straw hat.
"Ah!" Trent jumped back a bit.
The man frowned and looked at the trio. "You aren't from around here are you?"
"Guilty," Noah said.
"Wowww you're all… blue!" Dwayne exclaimed with his eyes widened.
"Well, at least you speak English," Noah said.
The man frowned more. "Yeah, I'm blue. My parents were blue and I'm also blue. Funny how that works."
"Man, what's with the ears?" Trent asked.
"They are my ears. That's what they have always looked like. You guys look like the odd ones out there with your pinkish and brown skin with those rounded ears." He blinked.
"Wait… so you're saying everyone looks like you here?" Noah tilted his head.
"Well. We all have our different looks and skin colo- wait a minute. Why are you guys out here anyway? The next town isn't for another 90 miles!"
"Well, it's a long story…" Dwayne said.
"I haven't got time for this. I need to go to Aendrikard to deliver the cattle in the back." He popped his head back in.
"Hey wait! Dude!" Trent shouted.
"Hm?" The man raised an eyebrow.
"Can we uh have a ride? Since we're going to Aendrikard too? Please?" Trent asked.
The man thought for a moment and then sighed. "Fine. but you got to pop in the back with the rest of the animals, there's no room at the front."
Trent nodded. "Cheers!" He ran to the back.
"Thanks" Noah then nodded and followed.
"Oooo animal ride! Thank you!" Dwayne cheered on as he went to the back.
"Just don't startle them too much ok?"
"We won't," All three said at the same time.
They climbed on and as they climbed up to the back they saw some purple cows.
"Ah!" Noah almost fell back.
"The cows are... Purple?" Trent blinked.
"Neat" Dwayne smiled and chilled with a cow.
Noah blinked and tried to find the place furthest away from an animal and he sat down. Trent then sat nearby.
"All good back there!" The man shouted.
"All good," Trent said.
The man nodded and then motioned the horses to move them along.
"Oh, I never got you guy's names."
"Noah."
"My name's Trent"
"I'm Dwayne!" Dwayne smiled as he looked at a cow.
The man nodded. "The name's Carnal. Nice to meet ya." He then focussed onto the path.
"Aren't we lucky, now we don't have to walk so long!" Dwayne smiled.
"Yeah it's pretty nice actually." Trent got his guitar out and looked at it a bit before playing a bit of a tune.
"Oh yess! Play that song!" Dwayne bopped a bit as the music played.
Noah simply grumbled and closed his eyes.
I'm just glad to be able to relax.
We should be there within the day. Finally, things are going a bit forward for us.
He sighed a little.
Once I get there I'll find a phone and call up Emma… and I guess i will try to find Owen too. Wouldn't hurt to see if he's ok too.
I'm sur-
He felt a sudden wet sensation on his face.
"GH!" Noah opened his eyes and saw a cow was licking his face. "What the…"
"Looks like you made a friend Noah" Trent laughed.
Noah grumbled a bit and looked at the cow. "I appreciate the sentiment, Cow. but i'd appreciate if you didn't disturb my relaxation."
The cow simply just looked at him.
I'm really talking to a cow, aren't I?
"You ok there bud?" Dwayne asked.
"Just… ignore me," Noah grumbled more before he closed his eyes again.
Trent went back to singing a song. He played a beautiful mix of country and rock.
Dwayne was just staring at Trent, starstruck.
They continued on for a few hours.
The sun was slowly setting now.
"Beautiful evening," Carnal said.
"Yeah, it is," Trent said. "How long do you think it will take till we get there?"
"Oh by tomorrow definitely."
"Ooo neat," Dwayne said.
Noah was already asleep.
"Hey Trent, you know you were talking about that erm A minor, was it? That created that weird sound wave thing?" Dwayne said.
"Yeah, whenever I concentrate and use A minor it causes a confusion effect on anyone nearby," Trent answered.
"Well have you tried the other cords?" Dwayne asked.
"Hmm yes I did try it a bit but it seemed nothing really. Maybe it's only A minor. I guess I could try again. Though it may not be the best idea to try right now." Trent blinked.
"Oh I'm sure it won't be anything, try it." Dwayne smiled.
"Hm. Alright, might as well huh?" He positioned his hand into a B Minor. "I could try a bit of B minor"
"I'm ready," Dwayne said.
Trent smirked and then concentrated a little before he strummed a B minor.
As soon as the sound was heard suddenly the carriage shook heavily.
"W-woah! What the-" Carnal struggled to keep the carriage in control.
The carriage shook and then flipped to the side.
"Ahh!" The trio shouted.
When it flipped to the side, it skidded along the ground until it came to a halt. The horse at the front struggled to move.
"What was that?!" Carnal shouted as he crawled out from the now turned carriage.
Noah popped his head out. "Oh great. Our luck that this happens."
Dwayne rolled out from the side. "Woah that was... Wow," He blinked.
"Gh.." Trent crawled out also. "That was wild man."
"Why the hell did my carriage just suddenly turn? There wasn't anything in the road?!" he looked at the trio. "Any of you guys had anything to do with this?"
"I was asleep. I'm just as surprised as you." Noah blinked.
"Erm, I uh didn't recall anything," Dwayne answered while Trent nodded.
Noah looked at them with a raised eyebrow.
The two nervously laughed to themselves and whispered.
"Dude I think I caused that. With guitar B Minor."
"Yeah I saw, let's just erm.."
"Hey, where did my cattle go!?" Carnal shouted and looked around.
Noah pointed. "Over there."
Where he pointed was some of the cows running off into the forest.
"Gh…"
Trent looked over at Carnal "don't worry we'll get them back" He smiled before walking.
Carnal blinked. "Right… Thanks well I'll try my best getting the carriage back upturned and also tend to the horse. Please get them all back, there's 6 of them."
"Ok then! We got this" Dwayne smiled and followed Trent
Noah grumbled a bit and walked with Trent.
When they got a good distance away from Carnal, Noah spoke up.
"Alright. What happened?"
"What do you mean man?" Trent said.
"Look I'm not stupid. You did it didn't you?" Noah frowned.
"Well…. Yeah, I tried my guitar and that happened." Trent admitted.
"Why couldn't you wait until we got to the town?" Noah frowned more.
"Oh that's my bad actually, I wanted him to play a tune and such" Dwayne said.
"Ghhh… let's just… find them damn cows." Noah just walked off.
The two nodded and looked around.
"How do you think we are going to get them back to Carnal anyway? Do we just push it or something?" Trent asked.
"Hmm I'm unsure, but we can use your guitar to stun it!" Dwayne stated.
Trent got out his guitar and blinked. "Awh man." The guitar itself seemed to have broke during the whole commotion, split in half from the neck. "Well, that's out of the question."
Noah walked to them. "So I had an idea of using your gu- oh great its broken."
Trent nodded. "Yeah… well, I guess we have to try something else."
"Ooo oo I know!" Dwayne jumped up.
"What is it, Dwayne?" Noah blinked.
"What if we attracted the cows with something, I remember in a documentary there was this guy who made cows follow him with some wheat."
"And where are we going to find wheat?" Noah asked.
"I think there was some in the carriage when we were there, we can collect some from there" Trent added.
"Hm. Alright well, then I'll go grab some while you two try to find a cow."
They both nodded. While Noah went back.
"Alright! Let's go find us a cow!" Dwayne started looking around. "Cowey cowey cowey! Where are youuuu…?"
"I'm not sure that will work, man," Trent said.
"I'm trying my best though" he walked a bit through a few shrubs until he saw a figure. "Ooo a cow!" he walked a bit closer until he saw a shade of blue. "Wait you aren't purp- ahh!"
The blue intern was seen, they stared at Dwayne.
"T-T-Trent! It's him!" Dwayne shook.
"It's who?"
"C-come here!"
Trent ran over in a hurry and saw the blue intern. He jumped a bit and held his broken guitar harder. "Gh this is bad."
The blue intern glowed and stared at them. They got into a battle stance.
"We can still run can't we Trent?" Dwayne said.
Trent shook his head. "Man we've been running too long from this guy, I think its time we took them down before we go to the town."
"But your guitar…"
"It's still playable, I just need time… we got this ok? And once Noah gets here, things will get better for us" Trent smiled at him reassuringly.
Dwayne nodded and started to look determined before he looked at the blue intern. "I'm ready then." He looked behind the intern and saw another apple tree. "Oo… perfect."
The duo stared down at the blue intern.
"Ready Dwayne?" Trent smirked.
Dwayne nodded. "I'm ready."
