Chapter 440.
"Storm a brewing."
(January 5, Nighttime. The Loud House.)
As the loud house is quiet and peaceful, the family are all getting settled for the night and ready for what tomorrow has for them, which is still school.
Lincoln and Luna are already in their room and in their sleep wear and Lincoln pets the head of Patriot and Valkyrie and then towards Artemis and Freya.
Lincoln then sees Luna going through her lyric sheets and then she puts them in her bag. "Well, I got all I need for Friday night, gonna be rockin' when the band gets on stage and rocks it out."
Lincoln smiles. "And once again, I look forward to what you guys can do on stage, and the rest of the family will be there to support you, sis." Then he recalls something. "Though, Peter Harris and Michelle Lewis won't be there, they have a date."
Luna nods. "True to that, I don't wanna ruin they're fun. Sure this is our first gig of the year, but I don't wanna have everybody come along to see us perform. We all need our moments to enjoy things as the New Year rolls on, so bring it on 2021!"
Lincoln chuckles. "Alright sis, ease up on the adrenaline, let's get some sleep. We got school tomorrow and that means soon when Thursday rolls on, we're gonna be going on it with dodge ball."
Lincoln and Luna then hear thunder outside. "Whoa. That startled me by a long shot bro" said Luna.
"Y-Yeah, it kinda did. Sure did sound kinda l-loud too." Lincoln was a bit shaken, but he calms down. Luna on the others hand notices this.
"Bro, if you're not feeling like it. You can let me chill with you at your bunk if you want" said Luna.
"No, no, it's alright Lunes. I can manage, I'm not afraid of some thunder" said Lincoln. He gets startled a bit by the sound. "Okay, maybe I am a little nervous, but not too scared. We should sleep now."
Luna can tell that sooner or later, he'll need some company. She then hears footsteps from outside, which means Lola and Lana are seeking refuge towards Leni for the night. She can't blame them, but she does question if Lisa and Lily will be alright.
Luna then goes to her top bunk and she watches as Lincoln goes to his and he gets comfy and tries to get some sleep, Luna then goes under her blanket and also gets some sleep.
The eagles are a bit cautious, they are lucky to have not been asleep in the tree house, but they worry about Harrier and Nora. But they don't need to worry, the Rosato Mansion and the Eagle sanctuary above the mansion can withstand a storm, and also lightning.
They all get some sleep, they have a big day tomorrow.
(An hour later.)
The thunder gets louder and this wakes up Luna, she then looks around and sees nothing else wrong.
Luna sees the eagles are fast asleep, and then she sees some lightning flash from outside. She then goes back to sleep, but then she feels someone snuggling close to her, she then removes the blanket and sees it's her brother, Lincoln.
Luna smiles. "Can't sleep well, bro?"
Lincoln opens his eyes and looks to her and nods. He shouldn't be doing this, but he is still a bit skittish when it comes to thunder and yet he is not scared of the thunder bolt from Gretchen's Yamper.
Luna smiles and she lays down, she then pulls her brother close to her. "Hang in there, Linc, I got ya, no need to be scared now. Big sis is here, and I'll always keep you safe, you and Jordan."
Lincoln smiles and he hugs her back. "Thanks, sis." They then do their best to calm down and get some sleep.
Pretty soon, Luna sees that her little brother is fast asleep and with a smile on his face. She kisses his forehead and she too closes her eyes, as the night time takes her into dreamland.
(2 Hours Later.)
Luna's door is being banged on and this wakes up Lincoln, Luna and the eagles. "What the heck?"
Lincoln and Luna go over and open the door and see Lynn. "LJ? What the heck?" then they hear a large thunder crash coming from outside.
"No time! Look!" Lynn shows them what's on the phone and the news shows the Mayor of Royal Woods, and a big announcement.
"This is Mayor Davis, I urge all citizens of Royal Woods to go to the mall. We have supplies and generators so we can wait out the storm, but if you can get to a secure place such as a storm shelter then take refuge there and keep yourselves well supplied and wait this storm out."
Seeing this raises so many alarms. Luna then grabs Lincoln and the eagles follow behind, they then head out of the house and with the pets with them and go into their rides.
"We need to find shelter and fast, and there's no way the basement can do that one" said Luan.
"We cannot take the bunker, the place has a leak and I have yet to even fix it, or better yet Lana is yet to fix it" said Lisa.
"I was busy okay?! Now let's get the heck outta here!" said Lana as she hugs her Metapod.
"Wait! Where are we going?" asked Lola as she hugs Lily.
Rita and Lynn Sr nod and look to the kids. "The one place where it's known to be secured."
They all get into the cars and drive off, though some of them didn't have time to change, so they're all in their sleep wear. Even Michelle Lewis is with them.
They all make a mad drive for it, and even pass by Mr. Grouse who drives by them towards the mall, and they even see the Yates drive off. "Dang, everyone's going to the mall" said Lynn Sr.
"Not everyone Lynn, now let's go!" said Rita. They continue to speed up.
They do pass by some Allied forces all headed for shelter and searching for stragglers and they deploy their toughest vehicle for search and rescue, the Allied Battle Fortress. I'd like to see a storm knock this brute down!
(Rosato Mansion.)
The cars make it and they see Gretchen and her parents along with their servants also go there and then they see Hope's limo arrive and they also have the parents and the servants.
"Whoa dudes! Did everyone we know come here?" asked Luna. She then gets a text from Sam that her family along with Stella's are at the Royal Woods Mall. "Okay, so not everyone."
A family van arrives and coming out is Delilah Silver, her mom Helen and with them are Jillian Henvers and her baby, Lucas who is crying.
The doors of the mansion opens and Jordan and Ryan look to all of them. "Get in here now!"
They all come into the mansion and they lock the doors. Jordan then whistles and the Ultralisk emerges from the front yard, roars in glory and stands his ground as it guards the house from anything coming, this guy was there for one reason and that reason is to keep the Rosato's home safe!
They see the power is still on and they close the windows. The servants help get some blankets for everyone to make them feel okay and safe.
Rick comes down the stairs with a lot of blankets. "We got a lot of blankets here, we knew something like this might happen one day and so we came prepared."
"Glad we're all here" said Ryan. I hope our friends are doing fine."
Jordan got multiple text messages, and all of her friends and some of the pals from Lincoln are safe at the mall. "They're gonna be fine, even Clyde is there, but no message from Liam."
Delilah then shows her. "I got a message from him, he said that he's in the storm shelter with his family." she then pets her Stunky to calm down.
Jillian wraps Lucas in a blanket and does her best to calm him down, then the pets go over and try to calm him down as well, and this works.
Lincoln and Jordan go over and they help comfort Lucas, which helps and he calms down, but it still scared. Lily goes over and she hugs the 7-month old infant to keep him company and calm.
Jacob Pertland, Daisy Pertland, Wallace Warwick and Amity Warwick make some calls and thank goodness the signals are working in the mansion area to call for their staff and employees to seek shelter at the mall and stay safe.
Jesse and the other servants go over and hand them all something nice and warm to drink, which is some hot cocoa to calm them down.
"I don't get it, how the heck did this storm get here?" asked Hope. "Didn't the weather guys know about this? What about Patchy Drizzle, didn't he know about this dang storm coming?"
Lisa then checks the notifications. "Well, that is typical. It appears the storm snuck in undetected and appeared just as the news last night was over, and they did report small thunder clouds coming, this storm formed into a bigger storm hours after the thunder came."
"Well, what matters is that we're all here and safe and sound" said Helena. "We should all get some sleep, can this house really endure a storm?"
Rick and Jesse nod. "The mansion was redesigned by FutureTech and made to withstand even a tornado, so this place is pretty much safe and we have some extra rooms for everyone to use" replied Rick.
"Maybe when the storm has passed, we can contact FutureTech to do some modifications to your homes as well" said Jesse.
"Now that sounds like an excellent idea, we can do that tomorrow" said Daisy.
"Right now, we should all get some sleep. We need to be ready for whatever comes next" said Amity.
They all head upstairs and into the guest rooms and there are plenty of them. But, there might not be enough for the others. So, they came prepared with a plan for a situation like this.
Lincoln and Luna can bunk with Jordan. Lynn Sr and Rita can bunk onto an extra bed from the wall of Rick and Jesse's room, and Lisa and Lily can join them.
All the pets, along with Gretchen and her parents can be on the large wall bed from Ryan's room, this is the first time he's sharing the room with Gretchen and he's kinda nervous, but Lincoln assures him it's fine. Heck, he shared a room with Jordan, many times.
Michelle, Leni, Luan, Lynn, Lucy and the twins will be in another guest room. Hope and her parents will be in a room with Delilah and her mom, and with Jillian and Lucas as well.
The servants will all be taking the two extra guest rooms. The game room is still available, but there's only one bed, so Yamper, Rockruff, Stunky and Metapod bunk there. They have to drag Metapod there.
With everyone accommodated, they all get some sleep. Well, try to get some sleep.
Lincoln sees Jordan going through some messages and she sighs in relief to know that Mollie, Sadie, Joy, Kat, Jenny, Cookie, Allison, Tabby, Polly and Giggles are doing fine in the mall, they seem to be enjoying sleeping at where Reiningers is, and with them are Jackie and Mandee, Fiona and Miguel.
Lincoln then sees a text from Lori.
Lori – Lincoln, Leni texted me what happened. Thank god you guys are okay and at the Rosato's home, the storm is big and a part of it is here in Fairway and we're holding our own, not much of a threat here, but the source is at Royal Woods. I hope you guys will be fine there, talk to you soon bro.
Lincoln sighs in relief. 'At least Lori's safe.'
Luna then comes out of the bathroom and she goes over and she hugs both preteens. "We're gonna be okay guys, we're all gonna be fine."
Lincoln sighs. "Lunes, this storm….. I feel, kinda scared. About our home."
Luna can tell this was kinda spooky for him, and she knows this is spooking the other siblings as well, they know they're house has been through worse, but to the fact this storm is huge, was scaring them to the core.
"Calm down, Linc. The house will hold, she's been through so much and I know she can make it. Just have some faith bro. She'll hold her own." Luna kisses his forehead and Jordan rubs his back.
"We should get some sleep guys, with this storm I know for sure there won't be any school tomorrow, I do hope we can go to school on Thursday though" replied Jordan.
They all lay down onto Jordan's bed, Luna tucks them in and she gets in the middle and brings them close to her. She is sworn to keep them both safe, and god dang it she's gonna make sure they remain safe.
A large noise is heard outside, almost like something hit the mansion. They all know the place can hold and all thanks to the security Sentry drone and it's barrier field.
They can only hope that whatever hit the house, wasn't gonna do any damage. They can only know when tomorrow hits.
(The next day. January 6.)
The mansion doors open and they all come out and see what has happened, they all see the front yard has lots of leaves and the tree has fallen over. "Well, that's not good" said Luan. She then sees a satellite dish fell onto the sidewalk, but it's not from the Rosato mansion.
They then hear Jordan scream and they all see at what she's cared of and they are shocked to the core.
They all see the large Ultralisk that was keeping the house secure from threats, is dead.
The head has been severed and its large plated front is scorched. The remaining body is leaning onto the house, which is being held away by the Barrier.
The Protoss Probe comes out from the mansion and uses its stasis beam to pull the body off the mansion and it lands onto the front yard.
"What? What the heck happened?!" asked Ryan in shock.
Wallace then sees something and so do the servants and they spot parts of a plane all over the place. "Something… Something crashed and killed the creature."
Lincoln then backs up. "Whoa! Guys!" They all see him pointing to a missile on the ground, inactive and they see some wires come out, the missile is broken.
"What the heck?! Where did that come from?!" asked Lynn Jr.
"Drone." they all look to Lisa. She then points to a damaged head of a UAV drone, and it's from the Allied forces and has a weather symbol on it. "This drone was used to scout storms and track down stragglers. This was struck by lightning and resulted in its crash and killing the Ultralisk."
They can clearly see parts of the wings where the neck was, which means it crashed and blew up and this killed the large Zerg beast.
"Dang. What the heck do we tell our hero counterparts?" asked Lincoln. He then sees Jordan approach the large head sitting on the front yard and its eyes open with no life in them.
Jordan places a hand on the severed head. "At least he stood his ground, what matters is that he did his part to keep us safe and he did. So long, big guy."
Then Peter Harris arrives with some allied troops. "Hey guys, we came to see what….. Oh sweet Jesus! What the heck happened?!"
Yeah, they have a lot to clean up.
(Franklin Avenue.)
The Louds make it back home, and to their relief they see the Loud House is still standing. A few branches on her sure, but at least it's still looking good.
"She's still holding her own, awesome!" said Lynn Jr.
Lucy notices something. "Not awesome." They all see the tree on the front yard… Has fallen and is lying on the front yard with the roots sticking out of the ground.
They all go over and look at it, the tire swing is missing, and they do see the tire on the roof.
They all recall that thing tree has been standing tall at their home ever since Lynn Sr and Rita have been living there.
They all felt bad for the tree, but what matters is that the house still holds. "Well, even though we lost the tree, at least we still have our home. But I am gonna miss this big guy" said Lincoln.
"We sure did some fun things underneath his shade" said Lana.
"So, what do we do now?" asked Lola.
"I'll make the call to Peter, he might help us get this mess cleaned up" said Michelle.
They then hear some cracking, and then the garage begins to crack and fall apart, which shocks them. "Wait what?!" said Lana.
Rita then recalls. "Honey, when we had those FutureTech folks renovate the house, did we forget to ask about the garage?"
Lynn Sr has tears. "Yeah, we did." He then begins to cry, while Leni and Luan go over and feel bad for him.
Lincoln sighs. "Dang. We have a lot to fix around here." They sure do. But what matters, is that the house they know and love still holds onto her frame and nothing else is damaged.
