TDZ Chapter 8

Dwayne ran over to Noah and looked down at him.

Noah laid there with his eyes closed, his clothes were heavily ripped. He had a few bruises from each of the energy blasts including one on his cheek and head.

Dwayne sighed and knelt down to carry him. "Gh…"

Glad I still have the boost right now ohh it feels nice feeling young again!

He then ran over to Trent and saw a lot of blood coming from his head, he cringed a bit before he lifted him. He carried both Trent and Noah in a bridal position. Noah and Trent stacked on top of each other.

As he was about to run but he saw the intern on the ground still breathing but bleeding out. He stared for a few moments before he shook his head and ran off.

Sorry bud, I can't risk getting these two killed for you. I'm so so sorry…

He started running through the forest, he tried to remember where exactly the carriage was. He looked panicked and had sweat constantly flowing from his brow.

Where is it… where is it…

He looked frantically around before he saw a familiar sight in the distance, Carnal was chilling with his horse, the carriage fully fixed up. As soon as Dwayne saw him he dashed straight towards him.

Carnal stared at Dwayne in the distance in confusion as he saw Dwayne holding the duo. "Wait what happened here!?" He shouted.

"N-no time" Dwayne could feel his boost of power slowly draining. He placed the two onto the carriage. "W-we must go to a hospital"

Carnal instantly jumped onto the horse and pulled for the horse to start running. "Quickly girl!"

Dwayne jumped onto the carriage. The two were still laid near him.

The carriage started to move, speed pacing up very quickly. "This is going to be a bit dangerous but this is an emergency" Carnal said as he picked up the pace.

From Dwayne's view, he could feel the constant vibrations of the carriage as it rolled extremely fast on the path, each rock and pothole could be felt as it bumped him up and down. He kept an eye on the two, both were still out cold. Dwayne frowned at the sight.

"How long are we going to be by the way bud?" Dwayne asked.

"About half an hour, sadly I can't just get there any sooner" Carnal answered.

"It's ok, you're doing your best!" Dwayne gave a tiny smile before going back to a sad expression. He continued to look at the two.

The carriage rode and rode, the sun slowly going down. The wind blew the carriage left and right.

"W-Woah there, come on…" Carnal kept his concentration as he kept the carriage going.

"It's going to be ok… it's going to be ok…" Dwayne kept repeating to himself. He held on the side of the carriage with a strong grip.

"Gh, you owe me some new cows by the way! What even happened back there?" Carnal frowned as he kept concentrating on the path.

"W-we will get you some don't worry and well some blue intern thingy came for us." Dwayne blinked.

"That's odd. I won't ask the details, I think the other two's condition says enough." Carnal sighed and then continued on. "We are almost there, prepare yourself. The hospital isn't that far from the main entrance."

"Ok then, on it bud." He gazed into the distance and saw a large town.

The town itself was surrounded by big concrete walls. It looked very medieval and fantasy however there was juxtaposition within with a mixture of both medieval-style elements and modern things. Guards guarding the town by walking along the perimeter of the wall with swords but also had a walkie-talkie on hand.

Ooo swords, maybe I can try one!

Dwayne smiled to himself excited.

Hopefully, I'll be able to find Junior within the city walls!

He smiled more and more as they got closer.

The carriage rolled along fast. It went across a stone bridge. Up ahead was the entrance into the town, there was an archway that led into it.

The carriage rolled through the archway and stopped right in front of a small infirmary.

"Here we are!" Carnal shouted.

Dwayne nodded and grabbed Noah, he struggled a bit as he picked him up. "G-gh can you pick up Trent for me?"

"You seemed fine picking them both up before."

"Y-yeah but erm i don't know, it just feels heavier this time!" Dwayne panicked a little and started getting Noah off the carriage.

Carnal blinked confused but got off and headed to the back of the carriage to get Trent.

The two started taking the fallen duo to the entrance of the infirmary.

Dwayne knocked onto the door.

Silence.

Dwayne knocked again but harder "Come on…"

"What is it?" A female voice was heard from the inside.

"Erm we got two people unconscious and bleeding out, we really need them looked at and treated."

"Hmmm fineee" She sounded reluctant but the sound of clicks could be heard as the door unlocked. "Come in and put them on the empty beds." Footsteps could be heard as they walked off.

Dwayne and Carnal nodded and they walked into the building. The light was on, the first thing they saw was a small hospital ward with 5 beds. Each bed was readily made with white sheets and was currently empty. There were two other doors on each wall of the ward which led to other rooms. Dwayne couldn't see what the other rooms looked like.

"Just put them on the bed as said. I'll take care of them. You can get them in the morning" The woman stated from another room.

They nodded and put Noah and Trent on a bed.

Carnal looked at Dwayne. "Well, you good to go from here? I'd stay but I got to get my carriage properly checked as well as head out"

"I should be fine thank you… what about the cows?" Dwayne looked at him worryingly.

Carnal sighed. "It happens… I'll let you off for now ok? You got bigger problems here mate. You got a place to stay?"

Dwayne shook his head.

"Well, there are a few inns nearby you can stay at for the night. It'll be fine alright?" Carnal gave a small smile.

"Yes I know" Dwayne smiled. "See you bud." He let out his hand for a handshake.

"Until next time." he shook his hand before leaving.

Dwayne smiled at him as he left and then went back to Noah and Trent. His smile dropped instantly and he sighed.

"If you need a place to stay you can sleep on one of the spare beds, there most likely won't be any more people coming today." The woman offered.

"Oh? Well, thank you!" Dwayne smiled a bit but then tilted his head. "You know... You sound awfully familiar, just who are you?"

"Oh, you'll find out soon, rest for now ok?" The woman said.

"Ok then, nighty night…" Dwayne walked over to a spare bed. "Erm quick question, shouldn't you get them properly sorted out?"

"I'll do it when you sleep. It's not something you want to see."

Dwayne nodded worryingly before collapsing on the bed.

Ahhhh… so comfy I needed this…

He yawned and fell asleep almost instantly.

One of the doors opened slowly and a human woman with orange hair in a bun and a lab coat walked in. They had circular glasses and were wearing a sweater and skirt underneath the lab coat.

She observed the injured two. "Interesting. It's been a while since I've seen someone from this group. Let alone three of them." She gave a small smirk before going off to patch them up.

Noah slowly opened his eyes. He could hear the sounds of beeps constantly going. He wasn't fully sure what was going on, his vision was still a bit blurry as his eyes got used to the light. "Gh… what…" He felt a bit dizzy still.

He could see he was attached to a heart monitor, he realised that the beeps were coming from it. He looked over to Trent who was still unconscious and also attached to a heart monitor.

"Don't move too much now, you still need to recover." A female voice was heard.

"Wait.. what…" Noah turned his head and saw the orange-haired girl, his eyes widened. "W-wait, Scarlett?!" He blinked.

She stood there proudly as she watched his surprise. "Indeed it is i. Hello Noah, It's been a while. Strangely you look exactly the same as the last time I saw you. Well a little more roughed up but pretty much the same."

"What do you mean it's been a while, it's been only a few days." He frowned.

"A few days?" She tilted her head a little and put her hand on her chin. "Hm… Well, I've been here much longer actually."

"How much longer?"

"At least 3 years now."

Noah widened his eyes more. "T-three years?! We only teleported here like a few days ago, how can it be three years for you?"

"Well. It seems we have much more to learn about this huh." She smirked.

"You seem happy." He raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I always like a bit of a mystery" She smirked more. "I think it will be best to ask the other two how long they have been here, you may be surprised to hear it may be different for them too."

"I just assumed they appeared at the same time as me" He frowned.

"Well, sometimes it's not best to assume fellow bookworm." She looked at Trent who was still down for now.

The sound of a door opening could be heard near Noah, he looked at the door and saw Dwayne open the door. "Ahh…" He stretched and looked at noah. "Noah!" He ran over happily. "So glad you're ok!" He smiled brightly.

"Oh hey Dwayne, yea its good to see you too, how'd we get here?" Noah raised an eyebrow.

"Oh! After that fight there was this person who helped me get up and take you here. They appeared and gave me these liquids to give you." He showed him the empty glass bottles. "Carnal helped also but he's gone now."

"A fight?" Scarlett asked.

"Yeah! Wait, Scarlett?! What are you-"

"Long story Dwyane. Let's cut to the chase, what's this about a fight?" she asked.

"Well we encountered this blue intern thing and we had a fight and almost died, i'm not sure why they did it but they had powers and such." He looked a bit perplexed.

"Powers huh… Interesting." She let out a small smirk.

"Hey Dwayne, can I ask you something?" Noah asked.

"Of course, anything little man." He grinned.

"How long were you in that forest? Like estimation?"

"Hm... " Dwayne put his hand on his chin. "I'd say… a month? Weren't you also there for a month?"

"A-a month?" His eyes widened more. "W-wow.. So yours is different to mine…"

"I think I have a theory now," Scarlett said.

They looked at her curiously.

"It seems we weren't just teleported here into different places. We were also teleported to different times. For all we know, some of us may not even have arrived yet. Or some may have been here for many, many years." She let out a bit of a smile.

"You're really enjoying this huh?" Noah frowned.

"Of course! This is revolutionary! Who knows what else could have happened, I'm so curious!" She couldn't stop smiling.

"Wow, I really hope Junior is ok… Oh no what if i see him and he's my age now? Do I still call him junior? Or is he Senior now? Oh no oh no..." Dwayne paced around.

"Have you tried actually naming your kid a normal name?" Noah frowned.

Dwayne stopped. "It's tradition in my family to name our first son after Dwayne though!"

"You're saying there's more dwaynes?"

"Of course, my full name is Dwayne the 10th, Junior is the 11th dwayne, my father's name was dwayne the 9th, his father was dwayne the 8th and his fat-"

"I get it, Old man." Noah frowned.

"Guys. I hate to break up your little moment here but I have a question. You mentioned something about powers yes… So you all have them?"

Noah nodded. "Well me and Trent do, I seem to have some weird aura which lets me fight more while Trent can use his voice and guitar to boost us and create status effects, dwayne we don't know."

"I still believe I can punch a tree if I have enough courage" Dwayne stood up proudly.

"Interesting…so that explains it." she said lightly.

"Explains what?" Noah raised an eyebrow.

"Well, it seems I also have a power too." She smirked and then walked to one of the bookshelves nearby. She took out a book and flipped through each page. "That was a good read." she smiled.

"Wait… your power is being able to read books in seconds?" Noah blinked trying to hide a bit of jealousy.

"I know, not as flashy as 'A white aura' or 'Music powers' but, it can be useful, especially if you want to know a good amount of information. It was how I was able to be a doctor actually. I was already smart but it definitely allowed me to learn all the medical jargon and small details within the 3 years. It was how I got to establish this place."

"Why a doctor?" Noah questioned.

"Well, when i landed here, i ended up just outside the city walls and well, after a few weeks of realising i couldn't exactly get back home I thought i'd might as well make a living until i figure things out. Doctors surprisingly like in our world are highly paid so it's a nice gig. Plus I wanted to be a doctor if the inventions didn't work out."

"Oh so you quit inventing then?" Noah blinked.

"Oh god no, i still invent, in fact i have more time than ever" she smirked and pointed to one of the rooms. "In there is where I do my inventions, i'll show you sometime but for now you need to rest more.

"Hmm.. i guess so." Noah frowned.

"Ooo i want to see some cool inventions!" Dwayne smiled.

"Actually Dwayne, i need you to do me a favour first, then i'll show you something cool ok?"

Dwayne nodded. "Anything, miss! What do you need?"

Scarlett walked to one of the tables and rummaged through a bag which was on it. She got out a few 'dollars' and handed them over to dwayne. "I need you to find me a store called 'The Blue Bolt' it's not far, just a 10 minute walk, take east from here and just follow the path, you'll find it. I need you to buy me a few new nuts and bolts as I need them for a new invention I'm making, is that ok?"

"Oh that's fine! I owe you anyway for helping my pals here" He smiled.

She nodded. "Well then, off you go."

Dwayne nodded and started to walk out.

"Anything i can do?" Noah asked.

"In fact I have something. Do tell me everything about what happened from the light to now. I'm very curious." She walked and dragged a chair over to sit. "I have a feeling this will take awhile."

Noah sighed. "Yeah i guess it will, alright well it started with…"

Meanwhile dwayne walked out of scarlett's place and looked at the new city of Aendrikard, there were people of different shades, the most common were blue but some purple as well. People were roaming around, doing everyday things like working the stores, cleaning the area, children play fighting. Cobblestone floors and medieval structures mixed with more modern elements as well, people were also on phones, it was very jarring to view at first, but it felt comfortable still. The day itself was bright and beautiful as well, with shining sunlight and warm weather. It felt familiar and more like being in another country than being in an entirely new world. Dwayne felt comfortable still and started his walk.

I'm so excited right now. Let's go!
