When Dean came home, he was expecting to have something thrown at him. But instead he was greeted by his girlfriend watching an old episode of The Walking Dead while eating ice cream. When he shut the door she only glanced over at him, saw the guilty smile on his face, and looked back to the television.
"Where have you been?"
"I- uh- I needed to go for a walk and clear my head."
"What's in your hand?" Her question brought his attention to the black leash in his hand. He feared her reaction to him impulsively rescuing a dog, but he still did it because he saw the little ball of fluff in a box and couldn't deny him a warm home. He knew the stray dog life, and he would fight CJ on keeping him if she didn't want him. "And where's your jacket? It had to be cold out there."
"It wasn't too bad, and this is a leash."
"And... What is attached to that leash?" She asked slowly, pausing the show and looking to him expectantly. He only took a deep breath before picking up the fluffy beast and holding him close to his chest. "Did you bring home a small bear?"
"The box I picked him up from said that he's a Newfoundland."
"So you rescued him? Did you already name him?" She asked as she stood and he stayed where he was as she moved into the kitchen. "I don't know why you're acting scared, Ambrose. You're not in trouble."
"I'm not?"
"Why would you be?"
"Because I left, and-"
"Dean, you're a grown ass man." CJ cut him off, looking back at him as she shut the freezer. "Was I worried? Of course. But at the end of the day I have faith that you won't just up and leave and never come back. I have faith that you love me and our daughter enough that it would stop you from abandoning us."
"What gives you that faith?" He asked, moving into the kitchen and leaning against the counter, still holding the puppy close to his chest.
"For starters, you bought a house for our family to live in. You've held me while I cried on countless occasions, you've spent over a year protecting me and still do so." She started, moving closer to him and placing her hand on his chest. He looked down in time to see the puppy in his arms lick at her hand and the small smile on her face as he did so. It was almost as if he hadn't asked the stupidest question in history. "And I'm pretty sure the man who talks to his unborn daughter as much as possible is already too attached to leave her behind without a word. That's why I have faith."
Dean could only look down at his girlfriend, tears welling in his eyes at her response. He was relieved that she had faith and believed in his love for her, but at the same time he was scared. Scared that he'd tear all this down single handedly and make her leave him. She could assure they'd she'd never leave just like he promised he'd never leave her, but at the end of the day it was easier for him to say that. CJ wasn't mentally unbalanced, she had her issues but she wasn't insane. She wasn't as fucked up in the head as he was. Therefore her saying she'd never leave was invitation for the voice in his head to tell him that he'd make her leave him.
"Whatever you're thinking about, I need you to stop thinking about it." CJ spoke softly, bringing his attention back to her. "You just brought home the cutest bear of a puppy in history, yet you're frowning. Why are you frowning, Dean?"
"You're going to leave eventually. I'm going to screw up one of these days and you're going to leave." Dean spoke softly, avoiding her disappointed and concerned gaze. He didn't want to know what she was thinking in that moment, but he knew she'd tell him.
"You've got to have more faith in yourself, Dean." She whispered, smiling when he finally made eye contact with her. Her hand moved up to his cheek to wipe away his fallen tears, and he instinctively turned his head into her touch. "I have so much faith in you, baby, we wouldn't be here if I didn't. You aren't going to screw up, because you need me as much as I need you. Somewhere in that brain of yours you remember how your life was without me, and I know that before you go to do something stupid you'll think back to that and it'll turn you away from doing whatever."
"You think so?"
"How many women come onto you now that you wear those sexy wife beaters and jeans to the ring?"
"I don't really know. I stopped going to bars because drinking alone in public makes me do stupid things." He admitted and she smiled, lightly tapping his cheek.
"Exhibit A. Now, you should take him outside for a few minutes before you bring your fine ass up to bed. We've got a long day tomorrow."
"What do you mean?" He asked, setting the puppy on its feet before opening the back door. Instantly, the mammoth puppy went to explore the new frontier presented to him and marked the first bush he saw off the patio.
"Well; he's going to need his puppy shots, and dog care things. We don't have dog food, Dean, and with fur like that it's going to need to be brushed everyday. To name a few things." She listed, bringing her other hand to his cheek and pulling him into a kiss. "I love you, Dean."
"I love you, too." He mumbled, smiling against her lips. "I'm sorry that I just-"
"It's fine, Dean. You came back, that's what matters." She whispered, closing the distance between their lips once again. This time it was much longer than just a simple peck, Dean's hands settling on her hips and backing her against the fridge as his mouth worked against hers in a slow dance. Her hands moved from his cheeks and laced together behind his neck, her body molding to his the best it could with her baby bump between them. She briefly wondered what Dean thought about her body and the bump getting in the way of their intimate moments, but all doubts were washed away when one of his hands slid to cup her ass in the pajama pants she had changed into. A gentle squeeze followed and she sighed into his mouth, feeling him smirk before pulling away and nuzzling his face into her neck.
Their intimate moment was broken when their new puppy came in and decided to lay down on her feet, making CJ coo to the puppy.
"Little guy needs a name, Dean."
"I like Bear."
"I was thinking Charlie." CJ gave her own opinion and Dean shrugged. "There's got to be some way to mesh the two."
"Is it weird that I immediately thought Cher?"
"No," She giggled, biting her lip. "What about Barkley?"
"That's too close to a dog pun, babe. Why don't we leave it up to Instagram and have your followers vote?"
"That's something I would never have thought you would suggest." She stated as she wiggled her feet from beneath the puppy, smiling when it looked to be pouting up at her. "Let's go to bed."
"Tonight, he can sleep in our bed since he doesn't have one. Tomorrow, he'll have a bed and won't need to sleep in ours." Dean stated and CJ nodded on their trip up the stairs. Their puppy followed behind, leaving no more than a foot of space between himself and his new owners.
"He can't even jump on the bed, Dean." CJ complained and Dean sighed when he heard the puppy whimper. But he picked up the puppy and set it on the bed, watching with a smile as it scampered across their large bed to cuddle with CJ.
"Never in a million years did I ever think I'd be sharing a bed with a dog." He mumbled to himself as he stripped down to his briefs and got into bed.
"I love you, Dean. Thank you for rescuing a small bear." CJ spoke softly once she felt Dean's forehead in its usual position on her shoulder.
"I love you, too, Christina. Thank you for letting me keep the small bear-dog that I rescued."
"No thanks needed."
Dean didn't get much sleep that night, but he held onto CJ while she slept until the sun started to rise. Then he got dressed, grabbed his car keys and headed out to the nearest pet store to get some dog food and then he went straight home. The dog food was poured into a container that the puppy could eat out of until they bought bowls for him, and then Dean went back upstairs to see that their puppy was trying to wake CJ up.
He pulled out his phone and went into CJ's instagram so he could take a video of their puppy licking CJ's nose and gently swatting at her face while her nose scrunched and she smiled. Near the end, her eyes opened and kissed his nose which made his tail wag.
"I don't think you two could be any cuter." Dean commented as he typed the request for CJ's Instagram followers to name their dog.
"Where did you run off to?"
"Dog needed food, so I ran out and got that. I figured you'd want to be with me when we did everything else."
"That's thoughtful. Thank you, Dean." She murmured as she got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom.
"What do you want for breakfast?" He asked, leaning against the bathroom doorframe but keeping his eyes off of her while she went to the bathroom.
"I was thinking Taco Bell breakfast."
"That's fine by me. I could go for an am crunchwrap right about now." He commented as she flushed and she smiled while washing her hands.
"I don't know how much fun I'm going to be on our adventure today since I have to pee every twenty minutes."
"It's no big deal to me, CJ. I know the reason why you have to pee so much and I love that reason as much as I love you."
"Are you always this charming in the morning?" She asked teasingly, placing a hand on his chest and smiling when he wrapped an arm around her waist.
"Only for you, baby." He leaned in to kiss her, but ended up getting her cheek when she turned her head to the sound of their puppy in distress.
"He can't get down but he wants to. Awh, Dean, he's the cutest."
"I'm so glad you like him." Dean commented as he let her go so he could move their puppy onto the floor. "I'll take him out so you can get ready to go and we'll hit the drive-thru at Taco Bell before we do anything else. Sound good?"
"Sounds wonderful."
"The vote is in." CJ announced as she and Dean watched TV together. Their puppy was asleep in the bed they had bought him and Dean was watching CJ more than whatever sitcom she had blindly put on for background noise as they cuddled.
"And?"
"Bear won out." She stated, smiling when Dean uttered a "yes" under his breath.
"I'm sorry the fans weren't a fan of the name Charlie." He spoke softly and she laughed.
"You're not, but it's okay because I'm sure you'll make it up to me tonight." CJ mumbled, moving to lay her head in his lap.
"I think I deserve some kind of reward for winning, first, darlin'."
"What ever shall I do?" She feigned innocence, bringing her hand to his belt buckle. He nodded his approval, smirking when she undid his belt and unfastened the button of his jeans.
"I think you've got a pretty good idea, sweetheart." He stated, weaving his fingers through her hair.
"I don't think I've ever just blown you, Ambrose."
"I don't think so either." He mumbled, watching as she turned over and pulled his briefs down to expose his semi-erect member. The second her hand wrapped around the base and slowly stroked up his eyes fluttered shut and a small groan left his lips, bringing an smirk to her face. But everything stopped when there was a knock on the door and both parties sighed.
"It's probably a neighbor. You get yourself hard while I get the door and them I'll come back and take care of you."
"You're the best." Dean whispered, smiling when she pecked his lips before standing. He frowned when she put her hand on the small of her back for support, but knew that she wouldn't want him commenting on it. But the smile came back when he noticed that Bear followed CJ to the door. He wasn't sure how much protection the pup would be, should she need it, but the thought was still there and that's what mattered.
"Babe, who is it?" He called, still fisting his length as he waited for her to make her return.
"Seth, that asshole, sent a giant teddy bear for 'his kid'." CJ huffed and immediately Dean abandoned his erection as she flopped onto the couch. "I want to stab him."
"The bear or our ex?"
"Both." She grumbled before looking over at her boyfriend's current state. "Baby, I'm sorry. Let's get you taken care of."
"You sure?" He asked, knowing that her eyes hadn't left his erect member. When she licked her lips, he smirked, tilting her chin up so she'd look at him. "You want it, baby?"
"I do."
"Take it, baby. I'm yours."
I made a twitter and I'll be tweeting about Ambrose, live tweeting Raw, Main Event, and SmackDown(during the west coast showings), updates about stories that would go in author's notes here, maybe random personal facts, and hopefully not tweeting about my dog too much. So, if any of that interests any of you, you can follow me there at LexiAmbrana. Fun fact.
Onto more important matters, I'd like to thank TajiaK, Dixiewinxwrites12, ChelleLew, UntilNeverDawns, Sarcastic Nightmare, Sammie94, angelsdee327, and Katara Melody Cullen for reviewing! Your feedback and comments about this really make my day and I really do appreciate every one.
