CJ woke up in a good mood early in the morning. Dean was still sleeping soundly and naked and she let him sleep, quietly making her way into the bathroom for a shower before he went to see her daughter. Blue eyes stared up at her in wonder when she peeked into the crib and she smiled as she lifted her into her arms and kissed her cheek.
"Good morning, gorgeous." She greeted, letting her reach for her cheek while she checked her diaper. "Let's get you changed and fed, and then we'll get you dressed, yeah?"
CJ knew that she wouldn't get a response from her baby, but she knew that talking to her was a good thing. She really couldn't wait until she started babbling and sitting up so they could sit and babble together over whatever CJ felt like talking about. But she was most excited about the fact that her daughter wasn't going to grow up like she did. Olivia already had a devoted father and both her parents in a stable and loving relationship, so she was already a step up.
"Daddy leaves today, Olive." CJ murmured as she fed the babe, mood dampening slightly while she thought about the next couple days without Dean. She wouldn't be alone, since they'd have a full house until New Years, but being without Dean would be different for her. It was only a couple days, but it still wasn't what she wanted. "I'm gonna miss him and I know you will, too. You love your daddy and I do too."
"I love my girls, too." Dean spoke from where he leaned in the doorway, watching the two with a smile. "And I know I'll miss you, too."
Hearing Dean made Olivia's attention turn from her mother to her father, waiting until he was in her focus zone to unlatch from CJ's breast. Dean bent down and adjusted CJ's top before kissing her cheek and kissing Olivia's forehead.
"She still has that new baby smell and it drives me crazy." Dean spoke with a chuckle and she smiled as she stood. "Good crazy, though."
"Mhm." She hummed her agreement, letting him take Olivia from her so she could go to the dresser. "Minnie Mouse or Hello Kitty?"
"Can't she wear the little white polka dot one? Hello Kitty honestly weirds me out."
"We can save those for when you're on the road, then." CJ decided, finding the little dress Dean wanted and pulling it from the dresser. "Is your stuff packed?"
"Yeah." Dean sighed, not wanting to think about leaving them. CJ picked up on his displeasure and nodded, watching as he undressed Olivia. He kept a smile on his face, likely not wanting the baby to pick up on his unhappiness.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be, sweetheart. I just don't want to leave even if it is only two days."
"I know, baby." She spoke softly, wrapping her arms around his waist and laying her head against his back. "Why don't we do this more often?"
"Because I prefer holding you."
"We're really fucking cheesy."
"Yeah we are, but it's only sometimes." Dean mumbled, focusing on the little buttons on Olivia's little dress. "She's got your eyes and they're gorgeous."
"She's got your nose, Ambrose." CJ whispered as they both heard the front door open and shut. "Who the hell?"
"It's probably Adam or Beth coming back from an early run." He reasoned, taking the little white booties that Roman's mom had knit from CJ and gently slipping them onto Olivia's feet. "Do you want me to go get breakfast started or would you rather do it?"
"Ugh, I hate cooking and you know that. Why would you ask such a question?" She playfully groaned into his skin, making him chuckle.
"I know, Christina. I just like hearing you get upset about it."
"You're evil." She mumbled, releasing him and pulling Olivia from him. "Daddy's secretly satan, little one."
"But I love you."
"I know you do." She teased, carrying the baby out and smiling when he followed her down. She sat at the table and watched as he moved around the kitchen, loving the way his jeans hung low around his waist and gave her a peek at the briefs he was wearing. Her boyfriend was a handsome human being, and she knew that he probably didn't think so unless he was trying to be funny. But she knew that she had to start getting together her Christmas gift to him while taking care of Olivia at the same time. She also had to call about professional photos for the baby with the dog and Christmas cards and she was starting to hate that she was an adult and actually being treated like one.
"You're thinking hard about something, sweetheart." Dean spoke, noticing the way she bit her bottom lip.
"Just thinking about everything I have to get done this month."
"What's that?"
"Pictures, cards, your Christmas gift, and all that is coming second, third, and fourth to taking care of you, the dog, and Olive."
"Don't stress yourself out over it, Christina. You know that you've got help here when you need it."
"I know." She sighed, looking down at Olivia when her little hand wrapped around her finger. "I just never realized how much Adam and Beth really cushioned and babied me until I had a baby and was told that I was responsible for Christmas cards."
"It was something I noticed, but you were still really independent and sexy so I never commented." He admitted, watching as she propped Olivia up into more of a sitting position but took extra care with her head and neck.
"I'm gonna call around to different photographers and see about baby and dog pictures for the next time you're home."
"This week?"
"If that's fine with you. I didn't want you to miss this."
"This week is great." Dean assured, smiling down at the pan of eggs. For some reason talking about this made him happy, when usually he would've been bored as hell. "The sooner the better."
After eating their breakfast, Dean sat with CJ while they researched different photographers in Vegas. Olivia was asleep on Dean's shoulder and Bear was laying on their feet. Neither noticed the Canadians trying to sneak down the stairs until a thud was heard and they looked through the doorway to the staircase to see Adam and Jay laying on the floor and quietly arguing about something.
"You guys are cute." CJ called, bringing their attention to the young couple.
"You know what would've been cute?" Jay asked, untangling himself from Adam and hopping onto his feet. "You telling me you were pregnant."
"I would've loved to have been in the loop about you having a baby and not having to find out on Father's Day because you tweeted about it." She argued, shutting her laptop so she could have a proper stare-down with Jay. "I think I'm more hurt than you are."
"Don't you dare produce tears in my direction." Jay warned, pointing a finger at her. "I know when you're actually crying or trying to get into my wallet."
"I'm twenty-eight. You can't tempt me with hush-money anymore."
"You used to give her hush-money?" Adam asked, looking between the arguing pair with a smirk. "For what?"
"Swearing around her. The little shit caught me so many times."
"Yeah, mom took that shit seriously."
"Really, you two? In front of the baby?" CJ asked, smirk settling on her face as the two stared at her. "I'm telling."
"I thought you were too old for hush-money?" Adam asked and she shrugged.
"Never too old for you guys to buy my lunch for the week."
"I'm not buying into this." Jay stated, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "You are almost thirty."
"Buying into what?" Judith asked and CJ smiled at the older Canadians as their eyes widened.
"Adam and Jay said swears in front of Olive."
"You let her name the baby Olive?" Jay asked Dean incredulously. "Fuckin' serious?"
"Olivia." Dean corrected, fighting a laugh when both Adam and Jay had their earlobes tugged on by Judith so they'd be at her level.
"Stop swearing around the baby or I will find housework for you two to do." She threatened, giving their ears another sharp tug. "Clear?"
"Crystal." The two responded in unison, both starting to gently massage their ears once Judith released them.
"What I'd like to know is why Adam didn't tell you I was pregnant." CJ stated, looking to her father figure with curiosity. Jay turned to look at Adam as well, obviously wanting answers.
"Yeah, fucker, how come you didn't tell me?"
"William Jason." Judith scolded, making Jay shut his eyes in anticipation of done sort of punishment being inflicted upon him.
"I'm sorry." He apologized quickly, relaxing when Judith continued doing whatever she was doing in the kitchen. "How come you didn't tell her about my baby?"
"Yeah, Adam." Dean butt in, loving the discomfort on the older man's face. "How come?"
"How did your baby battle turn into you all ganging up on me?" Adam asked pointing around at the three of then before looking directly at Dean. "You weren't even in this conversation."
"I kind of was, since my baby is one of the topics being discussed."
"Yeah." CJ and Jay agreed before Adam sighed.
"Fuck all of you."
"Adam Joseph. Do not make me tell you again."
"Sorry mom."
"I really don't want to leave." Dean whispered against CJ's lips before pressing his onto hers for a fourth time.
"I don't want you to go, either." CJ murmured, pulling back so she could press her face into his neck. He always smelled so good and it was starting to become a comfort to her. "But it's only for a couple days."
"I'll be back with you and Olive on Wednesday morning, as early as I can get here." He assured, rubbing her back in an effort to comfort her. He didn't want her to cry and he didn't think that she would, but he wasn't sure therefore he had to take cautionary measures. "Be strong for me, baby."
"You know I will." She whispered as his cab pulled up and honked its horn. A sigh left her lips and she started to pull away from her boyfriend, but Dean held on and pulled her into a kiss that he hoped would get her by until he came home. "I love you."
"I love you, too. I'll call before bed."
"Please do. Now get out of here, Ambrose." She playfully pushed him away and he smiled, kissing her once again before pulling his suitcase to the cab. He didn't realize just how hard it would be to leave after Olivia was born, but he had a newfound respect for parents in the business, even the fuckers in The Authority. Leaving home sucked, even if he was living the dream. But he couldn't help but wonder how things were going to be between him and Seth now that they fathered a child together.
