Shuichi was at NG studios practicing for an upcoming concert with his best friend Hiro and the keyboardist of Bad Luck's band, Suguru. Today was a good day for Shuichi because today was his birthday. He turned 19. He got a lot of presents. There were presents from Hiro, Suguru, all of the Nittle Grasper band, his manager K, Sakano, his sister, and Tohma's wife, Mika. They also held a party for him at the studio where they had cake, his favorite candy strawberry pocky, and music blaring from the stereos. Everybody was there. Everybody but Yuki, but the party was still fun until K threaten him and his band with a gun to their heads to start rehearsing. Even though the day was fun and he was happy all of his friends wanted to celebrate his birthday, but he couldn't help but feel a little sad. Yuki forgot his birthday. After a year of being lovers, Yuki forgot his birthday, and Shuichi was heart broken by it. This morning he was all happy but all Yuki did was called him "Brat" and shut himself in his office and didn't come back out.
So Shuichi left the apartment, forcing himself not to cry, but all feelings of sadness was gone when he got to the studio to find that all of his friends thrown a surprise party for him. But now the day was almost over and he had to go home and pretend he didn't care if his lover forgot his birthday. When it was time to leave, he thanked everyone for the party and told everyone bye and left. Before he knew it he found himself staring at the door of his and Yuki's apartment. With a sigh he opens the door to find the whole apartment dark and no lights on. He was about to call out for Yuki, but suddenly a hand covered his mouth. He immediately panicked and started to struggle but he heard a voice in his ear whisper, "Shh…It's me." Shuichi immediately recognized Yuki's voice and stop struggling. "Close you eyes and don't open them till I say." Shuichi was confused but did what he was told. Then he felt Yuki tug on his hand and he began guiding him to somewhere in the apartment, he was not sure where. Then with a hand on his shoulder he was stopped. "Open your eyes." he heard Yuki order him. Shuichi then opened his eyes and looked up into Yuki's beautiful golden eyes and handsome face. "Yuki, what's…" but Yuki silenced him by placing a finger on Shuichi's mouth. Then Yuki stepped to the side, letting Shuichi know they were in the kitchen.
Shuichi gasped at what he saw. Setting on the table was a large cookie cake that said in pink icing Happy Birthday Brat in big letters. He couldn't believe it. Yuki remembered his birthday! He turned to his lover. "Yuki, you remembered! I thought you forgot!" All Yuki did was smirk at him, but he grabbed Shuichi's hand and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a golden band and placed it on Shuich's fingered. Shuichi gasped when he realized which finger it was and looked up at Yuki with surprised eyes. "Shuichi," Yuki began, "I love you. Will you marry me?" It took all but one second for Shuichi to react on Yuki's words. "AWWW! YUKI! YOU LOVE ME! I KNEW YOU LOVED ME!" "Brat, was that all you heard?" but then Shuichi flung his arms around Yuki's neck and gave him a passionate kiss and said, "YES! Of course I'll marry you! I love you Yuki!" "Brat." But Yuki kissed his Shuichi and picked him up bridal style. He began to carry Shuichi to their bedroom, prepare to show Shuichi just how much he loved him. The cake could wait.
