CJ had trouble getting to sleep and it seemed that as soon as she finally got to sleep, Dean was shaking her awake. She wasn't a fan of being woken up so abruptly, but took a couple deep breaths to calm herself because this was Dean's first real Christmas with a family and he had every right to be this excited. So she sat up and smiled at her boyfriend, wrapping her arms around his neck in a tight hug.
"Merry Christmas, Dean."
"Merry Christmas, Christina." He whispered, his arms tightening around her to assure himself that he was actually awake. She was there, in his arms, on Christmas Day with their daughter sleeping down the hall. It wasn't a dream, and he couldn't be any happier. "I love you."
"I love you, too." She murmured, further nuzzling into the crook of his neck. "Do you wanna go bother Adam?"
"Can we cuddle until Liv wakes up? I wanna talk to you about something."
"Of course." CJ assured, pulling back and smiling up at him. He wasn't acting out of character by any means, but she could feel that something was weighing heavily on his mind. He was biting his lip as he got her situated in his lap, holding onto her tightly while he did so. "What's up?"
"I overheard you and Adam yesterday morning and I get it. I do." Dean started, his thumb brushing against her skin beneath the tshirt she was wearing. He felt her tense slightly and kissed her forehead before he continued. "You don't have to tell me anything about you growing up if you don't want to."
"But I feel like I should because you want to tell me about your upbringing." CJ mumbled before sighing deeply. Dean knew then that this conversation probably wasn't going to get him anywhere with her, but he was willing to try. "It's only fair."
"But I'm not going to push you to tell me anything nor am I going to use any of it against you if you do. You need to trust that." He assured, forcing her to look up at him and make proper eye contact. "I don't expect anything of you just because I'm ready to share."
"I never said that I didn't trust you, Dean. This kind of stuff is just hard for me."
"It's hard for me, too, darlin'. Bringing it all up is going to be difficult for me, but I know that I have to because you deserve to know."
"Why do I deserve you putting yourself through that kind of pain?" CJ asked, tears welling in her eyes. Dean hoped this wasn't caused by a self-worth issue that he'd have to address, because he had his own self-worth issues to deal with before he could help anybody else with theirs. "What makes me so special, Dean?"
"Because you're my best friend and the woman I know that I'm going to marry in the future." Dean reasoned, smiling down at her before pecking her lips. "I feel like you should know close to everything about me because it'll make our relationship a whole helluva lot easier and our bond as friends- and a couple- stronger."
CJ wanted to ask how emotional turmoil would make anything easier or stronger, but instead she only nodded her understanding before burying her face into his neck again. Dean took this as her agreeing to hearing his story but wanting to wait for a better time, so he held her close and made sure that she wasn't crying while he gently started rocking them. Every so often he'd whisper his love for her until Olivia started crying for attention, but even then it took him a moment before he finally let CJ go. Hhe followed her to the nursery and watched intently while CJ took care of their daughter.
"I never want you to be hurt because of me, Dean." She whispered, not making eye contact as she did so. He knew she would get stuck on that but that didn't stop him from wishing that she wouldn't. He really appreciated the love and care she had for him and the way she wanted to protect him just like he wanted to protect her, but sometimes she just needed to step down and let some things happen.
"It's not like I'm taking a bullet for you, babe." Dean commented, watching as she turned to face him. "I would take a bullet for you though, don't think I wouldn't. But I don't want you seeing this as me willingly putting myself into through emotional trauma. I've come to terms with all of it and I get why shit happened the way it did, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm not a big fan of bringing this shit up."
"If you're not a big fan, then why are you-"
"Because I trust you." Dean cut her off, moving to stand in front of her before taking Olive from his shaking girlfriend. Her hands were steady and her grip was tight, but her knees looked ready to buckle. His arm went around her waist to steady her while backing her towards the rocking chair and forcing her to sit down before handing Olivia back and kneeling in front of her. "I trust that you'll be there to pick me up if I break down, Christina. I'm not asking you to carry me, but-"
"Just give me time, Dean. When you tell me yours, I want to be ready to tell you mine and I want it to be just us and- yeah." She rambled, her voice gradually reducing to a whisper. "I just need a few days."
"I'll give you as much time as you need, babe. You know this." He murmured, squeezing her knee gently. "Ready to head downstairs?"
"Yeah. Can you take her? I just-"
"Of course."
Everyone worked together to make breakfast; Dean made the bacon, Adam and CJ argued over who was scrambling and actually cooking the eggs, Beth made the biscuits, and Judith oversaw everything and made sure it was all done right. The family atmosphere on such a holiday put Dean in such a good mood, he didn't think anything would be able to bring him down. It was his first real Christmas, after all. With Bear and Hope laid down at his feet and sitting by CJ, who had Olivia, he really felt like one of the Copeland family.
They chatted amongst themselves for a few minutes until he felt all eyes on him and he looked around the table with a silent question in his eyes. What did they want?
"First Christmas breakfast, Dean. How is it?" Beth asked, bringing CJ's attention to her in obvious confusion. That's how Dean knew that his girlfriend thought that was a stupid question.
"I'd say the bacon is the best part."
"Such an ass." CJ and Adam murmured in unison, earning a glare from Judith for their use of language. That didn't stop the duo from fist bumping before going back to their breakfast, Adam playfully mumbling about how the bacon sucked while CJ fed some to whatever dog was at her feet.
"Call your sperm donor later, Chrissie. Gotta kick start world domination soon." Adam stated, pointing his fork at his daughter.
"Good point. What better way to sugar coat a bad relationship than calling on Christmas?" CJ asked rhetorically before taking a bite out of her biscuit.
"Plans to ruin Chris can wait until after breakfast and presents, you two." Judith stated, to which Adam and CJ nodded and went back to their breakfast. After that everything flowed smoothly, small compliments passed back and forth with friendly banter between the family.
"Can we open presents now?" Dean asked once everyone had finished eating and Adam shrugged.
"She obviously didn't tell you the Copeland flow."
"We have a flow?" CJ asked, adjusting how Olivia laid on her shoulder.
"You hear this, mom? 'We have a flow?' Priceless, right?" Adam teased his daughter before looking to her boyfriend. "Yes we can go open presents."
"What's the Copeland flow?" Dean asked, watching CJ stand and be followed to the living room by Tundra and Bear.
"Breakfast, presents, pictures, movies, play with presents." Judith listed, standing from her seat and making her way to the living room. Dean nodded his understanding, taking Olivia and putting her on her tummy time pillow before taking his seat at CJ's feet. She didn't like not cuddling into Dean and moved to sit beside him, but instead stood to go get her phone.
"You sit, I'll get the phones." Dean stated, watching her sink to the floor as he stood and took the stairs two at a time to get their phones from the charger. He wanted to open presents, nothing was slowing him down. Until he looked and saw that Seth had texted his girlfriend a very personal message.
Dean knew that CJ wouldn't ever cheat on him, so he wasn't upset with her. But the nerve of Seth to text her about how lonely he was on Christmas Day pissed him off. He knew that Seth was a nervy little shit, but he never expected this out of him. But it was okay, because he remembered CJ telling him that she told Seth it would be okay for him to open up to her about things if he needed somebody to talk to. It was all okay because he wasn't alone on Christmas Day. He was with his family, the love of his life, and his daughter. Seth was alone. It wasn't exactly how Dean had pictured things back in May, but he wasn't complaining. He was happy.
"What took so long?" CJ asked when he sat down beside her and he shrugged before pulling her into his side.
"Roman texted me and I was texting him back real quick. No big deal." He lied, handing her cell phone over before taking a picture of Olivia and her monkey. He knew that she was now reading the text from Seth when she sighed and locked her phone again before looking at Adam in time to catch a present that he lobbed at her.
"It's actually Dean's, but I knew you'd catch it."
"Can I open it?" Dean asked, taking the gift from his girlfriend and looking to the family for confirmation.
"No, we bought-slash-made these things and took the time to wrap them for you to not open them." Adam deadpanned, earning glares from CJ and a smack upside his head from Beth. "He knows I'm kidding."
"Don't be fucking rude." Beth scolded, earning a glare from Judith. "He had it coming."
"I agree." CJ stated, catching something Adam tossed with her name on it. "Open it, Dean."
"You're sure?" He whispered, his uncertainty making her smile at how adorable he was.
"Positive." She whispered back before opening her own gift from Judith. "Nana, you didn't."
"I've been working on it since last year. You could always use a new cardigan." Judith spoke with a proud smile, watching as CJ pulled the whole thing out of the and re-folded it.
"Thank you so much."
"You're welcome."
"Open yours, Dean. There's no real organization to this." CJ urged, nudging her boyfriend gently with her elbow. Dean took her instruction, carefully tearing open the paper and pulling out the scarf that was knitted for him and then the sock monkey that was wrapped in the scarf.
He was honestly at a loss for words. He'd never been given a handmade gift before, so this was the second best gift he'd ever been given. The first would always be his daughter, but the scarf and sock monkey honestly touched his heart because he didn't feel that he was deserving of a handmade gift.
"You okay, Ambrose?" CJ asked quietly, since everybody else was trying not to stare at him.
"I've never gotten a handmade gift before. I'm fine. This is just- wow."
"Good wow?"
"Great wow." He assured looking up at her before looking to Judith. "Thank you, nana."
"You're welcome, Dean." Judith spoke with a smile, tears welling up in her eyes at how genuinely happy Dean was to get the simple gifts. Next year she'd have the time to knit him a sweater.
"Can mass Christmas chaos begin, now?" Adam asked, pushing a larger box to Dean. "That's from me, and not Beth. All me."
"Shut up. I picked it out!"
"If you don't like it, then it was Beth's idea." Adam mumbled watching as Dean started to tear at the paper. "We didn't buy that."
"Because the one we bought is over there, genius." Beth scolded, resisting the urge to hit the father of her child. "Chrissie got that for him."
"You need to stop with all the sass, Beth."
"You said that Olive was my Christmas gift." Dean stated in a questioning tone, watching CJ while she had her phone pointed at him.
"I was in labor and bitter about it. Keep unwrapping it." She pressed watching as his face lit up at the sight of the drone. She had been nervous about buying him something like that because he wasn't a big "toy" person and she didn't want him to think she bought him a toy.
"Babe, this is so cool."
"You think so?"
"I do. Thank you." He murmured just before bringing her into a kiss. Beth expertly timed the picture and tweeted it, tagging CJ in it before setting her phone down just in time to stop Adam from throwing a present at their heads.
Seth Rollins was miserable.
Sure, he got to be with his family for Christmas and got laid the night before, but it wasn't right. He should've been with Dean, CJ, and their daughter. He was grateful that he got to be with his family, but he knew that he should've been in Las Vegas. That's where his love was; with CJ, Olivia, and Dean in a totally straight way.
He sat alone at his dinner table, his dogs playing with their new toys in the living room and giving him time to stew in his thoughts. A bottle of Jack sat on the table beside a shot glass, but the glass was left untouched and the bottle was half-empty. It was more of a formality in Seth's mind to shield himself from the fact that he was trying to drink away his problems and the fact that he caused all of his problems because he was blinded by greed.
One glance at his phone showed that he had a picture message from Randy, which was weird in itself. Randy rarely ever spoke to him unless it was work related, and he was texting him on Christmas Day? But once he opened the message he knew exactly why, and that was because The Viper was tormenting him.
'Found this on twitter and thought you might like it. Merry Christmas.'
Of course Randy would send him a screenshot of the tweet Beth posted. Why wouldn't he? Randy had been getting under Seth's skin using Dean and CJ's relationship. But instead of physically retaliating, Seth just drank more. That'd been the theme of the last month or so, ever since he had to leave the solitude of Dean and CJ's home in Las Vegas to live his life separate from them.
This fucking sucks. Seth thought to himself, watching Kevin and Lola chase each other around. CJ should've been there with him, playing with Olivia and being a good woman. Had they stayed together, he would've proposed at Christmastime. He was looking at a ring and everything. But, sadly, he was a dick and ruined it all. He would've made it all better had she given him the chance, instead of just running to Dean and having him fix her. Dean ended up being the better man for her, but Seth was certain that they could've provided for her together. They still could, but he had to get Dean and CJ to trust him again.
It was all a bunch of bullshit for him now.
CJ looked on as Dean and Adam played with their Christmas presents. She and Beth had both gotten their men drones and they were flying them around the backyard together while the two women worked in the kitchen.
"It's like they're bonding." CJ commented, looking over at Beth as they worked on lunch. The older blonde glanced out the window to see that Adam and Dean were laughing about something. "Not that they haven't already over stupid nicknames, but-"
"This is good, either way. Adam is always worrying about whether or not Dean actually likes him." Beth murmured, looking over at CJ before going back to chopping vegetables to put in Lyric's baby bullet.
"If Dean didn't like him, Dean would avoid him." The younger blonde assured, smiling when Adam put Dean in a headlock for some reason. "We're his first real family."
"He doesn't count The-"
"He used to. But after what Seth did Dean is terrified that Roman is going to come up and say that their brotherhood was worthless to him, too. So he doesn't count The Shield as a family to him."
"But Roman has-"
"Seth had both Dean and Roman at his birthday party just days before he turned. After that, Dean has been worried that even I'll pack up Olive and leave him."
"He's got issues, Chrissie. He's had them long before you were in his life."
"I know. Adam says that our issues are complimentary, but I don't think deep rooted abandonment issues are a good combatant for deep rooted abandonment issues."
"Plus you both have daddy issues that need addressing."
"And those, too." CJ mumbled her agreement, not liking that she was so troubled but knowing that figuring out her problems were the key to keeping her relationship afloat. "Did Adam tell you that Dean wants to open up to me?"
"He mentioned it and I agreed that you two just need to sit and talk about yourselves. It doesn't necessarily have to be about your pasts, but you could work up to that by sharing little things with one another."
"That's a really good idea and I'm certain Dean would go for it."
"Are you comfortable with opening up to Dean about your past?" Beth asked, looking to CJ to see her watching Adam and Dean, the apples she was cutting abandoned for the time being.
"The more I think about it, the more comfortable I get." CJ stated just before the guys came in through the back door laughing about something. "At the end of the day, the fact remains that he deserves to know."
"He's got no place to judge, so you know you'll be okay."
"Yeah, I know." CJ spoke softly, setting the knife down when she felt a familiar pair of arms around her waist. "Have fun, baby?"
"So much fun. Sherman is so cool." Dean mumbled before kissing her cheek in his own way of thanking her once again for the drone.
"You named it Sherman?" Beth asked with a teasing smile, watching the couple. CJ had tilted her head back against his shoulder and brought a hand up to tangle in his curls while his chin rest on her shoulder. She wished that her phone was handy to capture this moment, but saw that Adam already had from the other side of the counter.
"Yes, yes I did."
"It's a nice name." CJ murmured, kissing her boyfriend's stubbled cheek. Their embrace was so innocent, but she knew that it wouldn't be so innocent in a matter of hours. The thought of what she had in store for him made her smile brighten, knowing that he'd never be able to forget this Christmas for many more reasons than just Sherman the drone.
CJ could hear him doing as she asked while she stared at herself in the bathroom mirror. The slutty "Mrs. Claus" outfit she had bought online fit her fine, she just was suddenly worried that it might not turn Dean on even though he had gotten super excited over her being in a little outfit.
And boy, was it little.
The silky red fabric just barely covered her ass, fluffy white trim lining the hem. It hugged her curves(and that annoying little roll that had appeared with the baby weight that pissed her off to no end) nicely and left a lot of cleavage exposed due to the low neckline. She knew that Dean loved her legs bare but still wore thigh high stockings without any sort of shoes on, topping off her little number with a classic Santa hat while her blonde waves fell neatly down her back.
The things I do for this man. She thought to herself with a smile, applying the lip gloss she got from Natalya months ago for the first time ever and winking at herself for a confidence boost before stepping out of the bathroom.
Dean perked up at the sound of the bathroom door opening, letting out a low whistle at the sight of his girlfriend stultifying Christmas just for him. He knew he wasn't supposed to, due to her earlier made request, but he stood anyways and made his way over to her, stopping just in front of the shorter blonde and placing a hand on her hip. She looked up at him through her lashes, obviously nervous, and Dean couldn't help but press a kiss to the corner of her lips. He could smell the vanilla of her lip gloss and smiled, pulling back to look at her. She hated lip gloss, but he had mentioned it once and was now wearing it just for him. He was a lucky guy.
"Too much?"
"Fuckin' perfect, darlin'." Dean rasped, leaning in to properly kiss her but getting stopped by her hand on his face.
"On the bed, Ambrose. I've got so many surprises for you, but I need you on the bed."
"Sitting, or-?"
"Sitting, definitely." She cut him off, ushering him to the bed while she went to shut off the bedroom light. "You'll be laying down soon enough."
"Why aren't you on the bed yet?" Dean asked, watching his girlfriend in their closet as his eyes adjusted to their moonlit bedroom. She had picked up a bag of some sort and moved to the nightstand, setting a couple things onto the wood that Dean soon learned were candles. She hurried around to the other side, lighting the other three candles before sitting on the bed. The intimate lighting was really setting a great mood, prompting Dean to make a mental note to surprise her with some candlelit lovemaking once she was good for it.
The lighting was short lived, because Dean had his vision obscured by a silky blindfold. He tensed at the realization that he couldn't see, to which CJ silently soothed him by rubbing her chest against his bare back while her hands tied the blindfold.
"Trust me, baby. You're going to feel so good." She whispered, massaging the tension from his shoulders as she spoke. "All of your other senses will be heightened because of your loss of sight and you'll be able to tell me what all the candles smell like and you'll be able to feel every little thing I do."
For emphasis, she lightly dragged her fingertip down his spine. The tingling sensation her nail left behind made Dean shudder in his Christmas themed briefs. He was getting hard already and she hadn't really even started, something that made her smile while she planted her hands on his shoulders and kissed just below his ear.
"Relax." Was the final word she whispered before the heat of her body left his back and he heard the bed shift under her weight as she moved around.
"I wish I could enjoy your little outfit, babe."
"You will soon enough." CJ assured, pouring the massage oil onto her hands before going back to rubbing his shoulders. "On your stomach, Ambrose."
"Are you dominating me tonight?"
"I'm forcing you to relax. Stop asking questions, Ambrose."
"Yes, ma'am." Dean mumbled, smirking as he followed her directions. She waited until he stopped shuffling to straddle his hips and begin working the oil into his skin.
It was silent between the couple as CJ massaged Dean, she was enjoying the aroma of the candles in their intimate setting while Dean was letting his senses take over. He could smell the vanilla and cinnamon candles, CJ's fingers working his skin felt so much softer than her already soft skin. He could hear her soft breaths as she worked and reveled in the gentle touches and caring strokes. Her hands worked their way down, turning his upper body into jello until it stopped all of a sudden and he felt her lean forward.
"March 17th."
"Saint Patrick's Day?"
"My birthday." She stated, smiling at the small "oh" that he uttered.
"How have I gone this long without knowing?"
"I don't like it being blown out of proportion. I just go get ice cream." She explained, sitting back up and dipping her fingers into the waistband of his briefs. "These need to go, Mr. Ambrose."
"Are you going to massage the Ambooty?"
"If you want me to. There's nothing too kinky going on in the Ambooty area though. So no ass related ideas."
"I wouldn't dream of anything but those hands on my ass." Dean assured, chuckling when she lightly smacked his covered left cheek.
"No more speaking unless I'm hurting you by any means."
"You're hurting my heart by not letting me see you."
"Cute, but not gonna slide. Just enjoy."
"Baby-"
"Do you want the Ambooty massaged or not?"
"I wanna see you." Dean whined, slightly flailing his arms. CJ only huffed, smiling as she got off of his back. "Babe."
"Turn over."
"Do I-"
"Turn over, Ambrose." Her tone was much more stern, leaving Dean no choice but to roll onto his back. He heard the rustling of a bag and fought the urge to move the blindfold so he could see what she was up to. She had put a lot of thought into this and he wasn't going to ruin it for her by being impatient and getting caught. He pushed his briefs down, just enough to free his erection, before putting his hands behind his head. He felt the familiar cool metal lock around his left wrist and smirked, knowing that she was caging the beast before he forgot that she still had about three days until she was penetrable. "I'm starting to think that you like being cuffed to the bed."
"Only for you."
"What all would you do for me?"
"I'd do anything for you."
"Anything?" She asked with a small smile, locking his right arm into place and dragging her finger down his forearm. The shudder that flowed through his body went straight to his erection and he wasn't sure what she had in mind. This is where not being able to see killed him. He wanted to see what was in her hands, and see exactly what she was opening and pouring onto his skin. He knew it felt and smelled so good, especially when she began massaging it in, but that didn't mean he liked not being in control. In fact, he hated it so much. But he couldn't say no to his dearest Christina when it came to being adventurous in the bedroom.
"What do you have in mind?"
"A little wax, maybe some creative tormenting."
"Not on my chest. I'm a fan of my chest hair."
"I am, too. I don't think candle wax removes hair, but we'll stay away from your chest."
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me for anything, yet, darling." CJ whispered before leaning forward and kissing him for the first time that night. Due to not having his sense of sight, his face had become much more sensitive to the things he generally wouldn't have noticed. The way her the ends of her soft hair caressed his stubbled cheeks in their position, how she gently pressed on his chest with one hand for balance, her knees pressing into his hips. It was all just so good, making the experience so much more sensual. It was perfect to him.
If only he could see her.
CJ was enjoying that her man was subdued, pulling back to observe what she felt was perfection. She wasn't a fan of not having eye contact with Dean, but the relaxed set of his jaw and and the way he just laid there was gorgeous. No tension. No worries. Just her scruffy man, Dean Ambrose, handcuffed to their headboard and trying his best to keep still. She knew he was getting antsy and kissed along his jawline, down the column of his neck and to his chest.
"I love you, baby."
"I love you, too." Dean mumbled, sucking in a deep breath when she kissed down his stomach to his erection. He couldn't fight the groan that slipped out when she stopped her travels and heard her giggle. "Don't be a bitch."
"Who's in control here, Ambrose?" CJ asked, raising an eyebrow even though he couldn't see it. He only huffed, to which she delivered a hard snack to his thigh. "I asked a question, Dean."
Dean couldn't deny that this was turning him on. Everything about the scenario was glorious to him, even if it was out of character for them. Basically submitting to the most gorgeous woman on the planet and her physically punishing him? It was heaven, and he had his own personal angel on earth. It was the perfect scenario for him and if he died that night, he'd die so much more than just happy.
"You're in control, Copeland." He hissed after she smacked his other thigh twice. She rewarded him by wrapping her hand around the base of his shaft, giving a gentle squeeze before slowly bringing her hand up his length. "You're- fuck- you're in control, baby. All you."
"Damn straight." She purred, reaching for one of the candles. "Ready?"
"Yeah." Dean grunted, shutting his eyes tight as she continued to pump her hand while the other tipped the candle so the white wax would pour onto his skin just below his pecs. She had made sure beforehand that the wax of this particular candle wouldn't burn his skin. The groan of pleasure that sounded from her boyfriend as the warm wax hit his skin made CJ grin as she trailed a line down to his navel.
"How's it feel?"
"Interesting, to say the least." Dean commented, gently thrusting his hips in time with her hand. "Something that you should- ah, shit- try."
"You think so?"
"I do."
"Can I pour some on your dick?"
"You can't suck my-ah-" He hissed, feeling another line of wax start on his stomach and begin cooling. "dick with wax on it."
"Who said me sucking your dick was part of this adventure?"
I knew it's been a really longtime and I'm going to politely request that none of you hit me for it. I've been using my free time mentally preparing for my birthday on Wednesday and everything else came just came second to that. I'm still not ready, being perfectly honest. On the upside, Sami Zayn is creeping into my heart and I may start writing about him.
