Adam Copeland was a man on a mission, and that mission was to what what he'd been doing since his daughter had been placed in his care roughly twelve years ago. He could tell by the voicemail that Dean was in a rough spot and probably needed some kind of support. What he didn't know was that Seth and Roman where there but he found out when he got to CJ's room and saw Seth feeding the baby while Roman watched on in silence- Dean nowhere in sight.

"Where's Ambrose?"

"Most likely chain smoking now that we have Olivia." Seth mumbled, frown on his face while he continued to slowly pace the room while Olivia drank from her last bottle.

"I thought he quit?"

"He's panicking right now, though." Roman reasoned, gaining Adam's attention. "This is a new situation for him and he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know what he can do, and it's driving him crazy. Smoking will keep him from flying off the handle."

"Right." Adam sighed, looking around the room while hoping for a plan to hatch in his head. "The baby can't stay here, though, and somebody should take care of the dog. Does Ambrose have the car keys?"

"I do." Seth spoke up, taking the bottle from Olivia when she started swinging it. "I can take her home and deal with Bear."

"I'll tag along so you've got some help." Roman volunteered, nodding when Adam smiled gratefully at them. "I'll try to find Dean and let him know you're here."

"Alright, thank you."

"I think she'll wake up for you." Seth spoke softly, adjusting Olivia on his shoulder as he approached the Canadian. "Whenever we spoke to her she started to shift a bit like she was conscious, but you guys are closer so maybe you'll have more of an effect on her."

Adam only whispered a thank you, leaning in to kiss Olivia's forehead while he gently pat Seth's arm. Next he shook Roman's hand as the Samoan followed Seth out of the room before taking a seat at his daughter's bedside, gently taking her hand in both of his.

She was so pale, which was something he had never seen before. Even when she had gotten a bad case of the flu, she didn't get that pale. But he knew why it was this bad and it was because she pushed herself too hard with not enough rest periods. She tried too hard to please everyone and, at the end of the day, she only had two hands and couldn't make everybody whose existence she tolerated happy. That just wasn't something she was capable of and eventually she'd learn that lesson, he was just surprised that she hadn't yet.

"I'm only going to tell you this once, Christina Jeanette Copeland, you're going to pull through and if you don't I will resuscitate you so that I can kill you myself." Adam spoke simply, gently squeezing her hand as he did so so that she wouldn't feel as though she was mad at him. If what Seth said was right and she was conscious, just not awake, then he didn't want her thinking that he was mad at her for getting sick.

Two things were clear to him, though. He needed to find Dean and he needed a snack. Both of those meant leaving his daughter alone and risking her waking up and panicking but they were kind of necessities for him right now. So he did what he really didn't want to do, and left her alone momentarily to do what he needed to do.

Dean was so frustrated with his friends right now. They knew that he had to distance himself so he could be properly distracted from the situation at hand and they knew that he didn't want CJ left alone, but they still packed up his kid and left only saying that his girlfriend was in "good hands". That wasn't what he wanted to hear, and he needed to be sure that she was in the hands of somebody that he actually trusted so he had to stop distracting himself and walk through the halls to his girlfriend's room, only to be surprised when he saw Adam at the vending machine in all his glory.

"I thought I said that I had this handled."

"Your tone told me otherwise and I thought you could use the help." The Canadian spoke simply, not even looking at his daughter's boyfriend as he picked up his granola bar. "Besides, my daughter is in the hospital and you expected me to not come be at her side?"

"I'm sorry, Adam. I really am."

"What are you sorry for?" Adam asked, gently pulling Dean into CJ's room and shutting the door for privacy. "This isn't your fault."

"Only it is because I should be taking better care of her. You shouldn't have to constantly be worrying about her and I'm failing you and her so I'm apologizing."

"Damnit Ambrose." Adam sighed, gently grabbing Dean by his shoulders to fully enforce eye contact with the younger man. "I'm not here because I don't think you can take care of her. I'm here because she has fucking pneumonia, and this is what I do when she gets super sick. I drop everything to be with her so she's at least comfortable. She's damn near thirty so I know that I need to stop, but I just can't. As for you failing us, Ambrose, you're a fucking idiot. You haven't failed me and you damn sure haven't failed her. This isn't something that you could've prevented, and nobody is even suggesting that you could've stopped this."

"I should've pushed her to go get checked out a couple days ago but she wanted to me drop it so I just dropped it because I didn't want to piss her off." Dean mumbled, catching Adam off guard. He never would've guessed that Dean would stand down due to not wanting to upset her even though her health was on the line.

"We'll cover that one later. Right now I need you to take a few deep breaths and stay with me here."

"I can't see her like this, Adam. Not when its my fault that she's here."

I am getting absolutely nowhere with him. Adam thought to himself, rolling his eyes at how stubborn the younger man was being. He could understand it to an extent, but right now was the worst time for Dean to shut down and puss out. Not when CJ probably needed him the most.

"I can't let you leave again because you're the first person she'll want to see when she wakes up and you know that." He tried reasoning with Dean, chalking up a small victory when he gave a small smile and nodded his understanding.

"This just sucks. I'd do anything to be in her place right now, Adam. She doesn't deserve this."

"I know, Dean. But she's learning a lesson and that lesson is to not push herself so hard."

"It's my fault because I'm never firm with her anymore." Dean whispered, looking back to his girlfriend with a frown. "She's so pale."

"That's pneumonia for you. But she'll be okay."

"Yeah. I know she'll pull through, but there's always that 'what if' and it terrifies me because I need her." Dean rambled, briefly glancing to Adam before looking back to CJ. "I can't be a single dad, especially not to a girl. I barely get how periods work, how the hell am I supposed to explain it to Olive when that time comes?"

"You really need to not be worrying about that because she's going to be fine."

Seth and Roman were having a really hard time with Olivia.

The infant probably only wanted her parents, since she hadn't been held by Dean in at least two and a half hours and now she was away from him. She was probably panicking and both Seth and Roman knew that them panicking wasn't going to help, but they were. Seth didn't like hearing his little girl cry, and Roman wasn't a fan of crying, so both men were in a bad spot.

"What does Dean do when she's like this?" The Samoan asked, watching Seth as he tried desperately to calm down the infant.

"I don't think she's ever been like this." Seth commented over Olivia's wailing, wanting to cry himself but knowing that it wouldn't help anything. "But when she's fussy, he-uh, shit."

Roman watched as Seth maneuvered the infant, being sure to avoid her flailing limbs, until her head was resting directly over his heartbeat. He knew it wouldn't be the same as when Dean did it, but he hoped that it at least calm her down enough that they could change her diaper without running the risk of her throwing herself off the changing table. The reaction wasn't as instantaneous as it was when Dean was the one trying to calm her down, but the wailing gradually reduced to fussing- which was something Seth could deal with.

"That's it, sweetheart. Calm down for me."

"She hasn't eaten since we left the hospital four hours ago." Roman commented and Seth's eyes widened.

"I don't know how to work the baby blender thing."

"I'm sure she's got some milk in the fridge upstairs."

"I packed it all when Dean and I took CJ to the hospital." Seth informed, his rocking never ceasing as he followed Roman into the kitchen.

"How hard can it be to work this thing?" The Samoan asked rhetorically, looking through the recipe book Dean and CJ had bought. "This strawberry-banana-green-thing sounds like something they'd feed her."

Seth only nodded, kissing the top of Olivia's head as he watched Roman go about filling the bullet cup. He wasn't paying close attention, otherwise he would've noticed that the lid wasn't on all the way and then he would've been able to prevent the various fruit pieces being splattered all over the kitchen and dining room. The worst part was that it had gotten onto him and Olivia, making the infant start wailing once again.

"Son of a bitch." Seth cussed, wiping Olivia's face clean before wiping at his own face. "I'm gonna put her in a bath."

"I'll run to the store and get some Gerber shit." Roman decided, looking around at the mess but not wanting to clean it up just yet. "Dean and CJ won't like it but she's gotta eat."

"Alright. Keys are in the entry table drawer." Seth called as he headed up the stairs, trying his best to console Olivia as he did so while hoping that she laid down for a nap so he could clean the kitchen up.

"And look over here." The doctor instructed, the little flashlight moving from left to right while watching the blue irises carefully. "Good."

"So, now that she's up, is a full recovery expected?" Adam asked from where he stood beside his daughter's bedside, arms crossed solely because he didn't know what to do with them. The doctor nodded with a smile as she took CJ's temperature, a small frown taking its place.

"I'd like to keep her here until her temperature drops below a hundred degrees- right now it's at 103.4."

"Aside from that, how long until she makes a full recovery?" Dean asked from where he sat beside CJ on the bed, his seat ever since she started mumbling for him just before her eyes opened.

"Two to three weeks. She's got to take her meds and, more importantly, she's got to take it easy. So no serious exercise or physical exertion until the pneumonia clears up."

"But I'm-"

"Hush." Adam and Dean spoke in unison, sharing a glance before looking to the Diva's Champion.

"Your title isn't going anywhere, your highness." Her boyfriend assured, pushing her hair back. "Your health should be more important to you than that damn belt, CJ."

"Dad-"

"I'm with baby boo on this one." Adam stated, smiling as the doctor excused herself. "It's not just you anymore, Chrissie. You've got a family that relies on you, meaning that you can't do shit like this and scare the shit out of everyone who cares about you."

"You act like it was a publicity stunt. I thought it was just a stomach bug."

"Even with stomach bugs, you aren't supposed to push through like nothing's wrong. You're going to kill yourself at this rate." The Canadian scolded his daughter, and Dean found himself grateful that CJ had lost the will to fire back at him. He didn't want to be in the middle of them arguing and especially not while CJ was in his condition. She wasn't better, not in the slightest. She was still pale and her breathing wasn't like it used to be. She wasn't better. Not yet.

And that worried Dean.
