The main event was Seth Rollins versus Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match. Unfortunately everyone but the referee was banned from ringside, leaving Seth and Brock to fend for themselves without the rest of their family ringside. Dean and CJ weren't fans of the "executive decision" made by The Authority to ban almost everybody from ringside, but stayed back with Olivia and Paul in the locker room while they watched the match on the monitors. Both CJ and Paul were way too animated to be holding Olivia so Dean sat calmly and kept her calm while the other two panicked over Roman dominating their guys.
Honestly, Dean wouldn't mind Roman winning the match because Roman was still his best friend and brother. Seth and Brock may have been on his team, but Roman was family and Dean only wanted to see his big brother succeed. Sure, Seth or Brock winning would be beneficial, but Roman winning would make Dean happiest. CJ and Paul, on the other hand, were firmly on Seth and Brock's teams respectively. CJ flinching a bit whenever Seth got hit and Paul muttering prayers under his breath for Brock to come out of this victorious. It was something that Dean was laughing about on the inside, because there was nothing funnier than this. Even Olivia laughed a little bit every time Roman went for a pin and CJ and Paul started chanting "no" aggressively until whoever it was kicked out of the cover.
But outside of their little locker room, Dean felt a disturbance. This small pit at the bottom of his stomach that gave him bad vibes when they were backstage. Like something was going to happen to Seth or CJ, because this was nothing like the feeling he got when it felt like something was going to happen to him. This was way worse, and he knew that they couldn't see the future so he had no way of knowing how to stop it. He also didn't know how to explain it. "Hey, guys, I get this weird feeling that one of you is going to get hurt so lets all stick together", wasn't something that he felt would bode well with his girlfriend and Seth.
"Hey! What's The Authority doing out here!?" Dean's attention was on the monitor as soon as he heard Michael Cole, and he frowned when he saw the whole bad of vultures known as The Authority making their way to ringside. Unfortunately for Brock and Seth, triple threat rules meant no disqualifications so The Authority could do whatever they wanted and not disqualify anybody.
"CJ, go." Paul requested, earning weird looks from both CJ and Dean.
"Aren't I banned from ringside?"
"They said that Dean and I were banned from ringside, not you, because they weren't thinking about you even being there." Paul explained, placing a hand on CJ's shoulder and making sure that he had her eye contact. "Now go raise hell and bring one home to the good...ish guys."
"Alright." She murmured, looking to Dean to make sure that he approved of the idea. He stood with Olivia and used his free arm to pull her into him so that he could whisper words of love and encouragement before kissing her head and pushing her towards the door.
"If there's anybody left standing by the time you're done-"
"Take 'em out with my last ten percent." CJ finished for Paul, waving over her shoulder before shutting the door behind her.
"I don't get it." Dean admitted; having heard her, Paul, and Brock say this on plenty occasions but he'd never asked what the hell they were talking about.
"By the time anybody is done with anything, they've given a hundred percent of what they could give. I don't want you guys putting out only a hundred percent, I want a hundred and ten percent from you all; so if your hundred isn't good enough to take out the competition, I expect you to find the extra ten percent to finish the job." The older man explained, taking Olivia from Dean and cooing to the infant. The blonde could only nod his understanding, grateful that he had already been giving a hundred and ten percent to his work so he didn't really have much to do to fall in with the Heyman way. "Do you want her to get into the business or do you want her staying away from wrestling and all things involved?"
"I want her to do whatever it is she wants to do, so long as it makes her happy and she's safe in doing whatever it is. If she wants to wrestle, I'd happily train her and I know CJ would too."
"CJ JERICHO WITH A SUPERKICK TO JAMIE NOBLE OUT OF NOWHERE!"
"If she's anything like her mother, you're going to have one hell of a time." Paul laughed, watching as CJ delivered yet another superkick the the approaching Joey Mercury. Dean held his breath when Kane grabbed CJ by the back of her shirt, lifting her off her feet so he could hold her at eye level. The camera was in perfect location to catch the sheepish grin that the Canadian gave the "Devil's Favorite Demon", and Dean couldn't help but grin because he knew the look in her eyes all too well.
"CJ's been caught. Let her go, Kane!" The King requested right before CJ pulled a move out of nowhere that she knew wouldn't be appreciated by the monster. A low blow and Kane releasing the Canadian as he dropped to his knees, giving CJ the perfect opportunity to deliver a roundhouse kick to the taller man's head before bouncing on her feet just like Brock did. Stephanie and Triple H were livid at this point, not that any member of the Heyman Family cared, and CJ just laughed until Triple H entered the ring. The two had a stare down, and Dean knew that she was just trying to kill time and stall for Seth or Brock to get the cover on somebody. He knew that she didn't care which of the two won, so long as somebody in the Heyman Family won.
CJ knew that she was in control of this situation. Hunter wouldn't dare to put a hand on her, and not just because she was a woman. She knew that he knew damn well that she was Vince's favorite on the roster, and that if Hunter so much as breathed negatively in her direction and Adam found out then he'd be on a flight to wherever the next show was so he could verbally tear the COO a new asshole while threatening to sue. She was in a very favorable spot right now.
Until Stephanie entered the ring.
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley provided CJ with a choice. Hit Hunter and run, or hit her and run. Paul did say that everybody needed to be left laying, and she hadn't given a hundred percent yet. CJ had unique job security that came in the form of an iron-clad contract bestowed upon her by Vince McMahon along with her Women's Championship, but her health didn't have any security from Stephanie's slap that she knew hurt like a bitch. Everyone knew that those hurt. But, CJ was going to do what she did best: wing it and hope for the best.
Seth groaned and both Authority figures looked to the sound giving CJ the opportunity to do what was necessary. A kick to stomach followed by Dirty Deeds had Hunter rolling out of the ring and Stephanie following to ensure that her husband wasn't too injured by the attack. CJ then grabbed Seth's arm and dragged him to the unconscious Roman, not wanting it to happen this way but knowing that she had to do something to help Seth out. He deserved this and Brock wasn't in the ring. If Brock was in the ring then she would've given her best effort to drag him over to Roman's carcass before giving up and dragging Seth.
Stephanie was screeching from ringside, but CJ didn't care. Thee ref counted to three and, unfortunately for Roman, the Samoan managed to pick his shoulder up just as the ref called for the bell to ring and CJ had already helped Seth to his feet.
"I won?"
"Yeah, expect a lot of backlash because I helped a bit, but you still won." She whispered in his ear as the referee handed over the belt and rose his hand. Seth pulled away from the ref and pulled CJ into a tight hug, whispering his thanks into her ear as she clung to him with a smile. When he finally let her go, she couldn't help but smile up at him as he raised the belt high. For once, the crowd was cheering them and she knew that Seth was elated to have the crowd on his side. The title was great, but having the crowd back was better for Seth and she knew that too well.
She left him to have his moment, sliding out of the ring to check on Brock. He was coming to when she knelt beside him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder and giving a small shake.
"I lost?"
"I did what I had to in order to secure a win for the home team." She answered honestly, smiling sheepishly when the beast looked up at her. "Your ass was too heavy to carry into the ring so you could win."
"Gotcha."
At least he isn't mad. CJ thought to herself as Seth slid out of the ring. Hunter had regained his bearings and was in the ring yelling at CJ and Seth, who had handed his belt off to the blonde so he could help Brock to his feet. From that point the Beast walked up the ramp on his own, Seth throwing his arm around CJ's shoulders as they backed up the ramp and laughed at the "power couple" as they threw tantrums over their new face of the company.
Dean, Olivia, and Paul were waiting in gorilla; both congratulating Seth before acknowledging what CJ had done, and she was fine with that. She took her daughter and kissed her cheek before Dean pulled them into his arms. There'd be interviews to do that she'd have to take part in, but her focus right now was herself. She had no match tonight, and was kind of bothered by it, but she'd be over it in about an hour once it set it that she just helped Seth win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
"WHERE IS SHE!?" The group heard Stephanie shout and took that as their cue to get the hell out of dodge for the time being. Unfortunately, Tom Phillips was standing by and waiting for an interview with the new champion and Dean pulled Olivia away so that she wouldn't be on camera.
"Seth, CJ, Dean, Paul, Brock, if I could just get a word about what happened out there at the end of the match?"
"What happened out there was simple." Paul spoke up, pushing to the front of the group. "The Heyman family always wins. CJ went out there and single-handedly took out The Authority so we could come out on top."
"Why Seth, CJ? Why not Brock?"
"Brock was too heavy for me to get into the ring." CJ answered simply, smiling back at the beast before looking back to Tom. "I did what was necessary to secure a win for the good guys."
"And what about Stephanie McMahon and Triple H? You're likely to face serious repercussions for the low blow you delivered to Triple H."
"I'll deal with it when the time comes." CJ assured, sounding confident but Seth could see the concern in her eyes. Especially when Seth looked around Tom and saw Stephanie with a still-pained looking Triple H, both seething when they looked at the faction.
"You gate crashed my main event and stole the Championship."
"He won the Championship." CJ corrected the Billion Dollar Princess, stepping up so she was chest to chest with the older woman. She couldn't show fear. Not here.
"You cheated."
"There's no such thing as cheating in a triple threat match." CJ stated, smirking up at Stephanie. Unfortunately for the Canadian, that smirk was enough to send Stephanie over the edge and was met by a brutal slap to the face. By instinct, CJ lunged for the McMahon but was held back by Brock as Seth, Dean, and Paul looked between the two in shock.
"Calm down, kid." Brock murmured as he held CJ as tightly as he could without hurting her. Stephanie only laughed, loving the position that CJ was in while the Canadian struggled to break free.
"I'm going to give you all a choice. Seth has until the show tomorrow night to vacate the title or else you'll all face the consequences of cheating." Stephanie spoke before pulling her husband away. Brock still kept his grip on CJ even when the couple was out of sight, not knowing what lengths she'd go to in order to get back at Stephanie for that slap.
"I will handle this." Paul assured, watching as CJ was released by Brock and took a deep breath.
"This is fucking bullshit." She muttered, kicking at a nearby crate before she stormed off. Both Dean and Seth watched her go with concerned expressions, but knew that she just needed to cool off and would be fine in a few minutes.
"I'll deal with it. Stephanie was out of line and it will be handled." Paul assured the two men, knowing that Brock wasn't going to be at RAW the following night so he wasn't affected by this. "You two handle her and get her relaxed by tomorrow night, alright?"
"You got it." Dean mumbled, patting Seth's arm before carrying Olivia away. Seth sighed, knowing that CJ had every right to be pissed but wishing that his big night could be spent in a happier way. Like having sex with CJ, that would've been nice. Or maybe getting food somewhere as a family would've been cool too. Anything other than CJ steaming over getting slapped and being furious with Dean over it while worrying about what awaited them on Monday night.
Once he made it to the bus with their bags, Seth sighed when he realized that Dean was in the bedroom with Olivia while CJ laid on the couch while ranting to Adam about how the last twenty minutes occurred. Dean's phone was ringing on the table and Seth immediately ignored it when he saw it was from a private number, before making his way to the shower. He could deal with everything else first, he just had to shower.
Maybe he'd get to celebrate his victory later.
I know this chapter was short. I'm trying to keep them on the longer side, but sometimes that block hits and is just like "it won't be longer than three thousand words hehe" and then I pout for a while.
But, anyways, I'd like to thank moshellz, AJPunk757, Carolyn, theShield757, meredith757, Imagineer1392, ItReignsJustice-619, Sarcasticc Nightmare, calwitch, heather B(Guest who will be missed), and Carol Reigns for reviewing the last chapter!
