Levi blinked open his eyes with a yawn and was greeted by blackness and a soft humm filled his ears. Confusion filled him as he tried to figure out what was going on because he was sure it wasn't knight anymore because he usually got up in the morning without an alarm. His body was so used to getting up at the exact time after years.

Levi Blinked a few times before something shifted and suddenly dim light greeted his eyes. He winced and he looked behind him to see his sister's wing returning to her side. He smiled at her and she blinked her bright ice blue eyes at him. "Well good morning dragon breath."

Seeker snorted at him before she shoved him with her snout causing him to fall towards their shelter's opening and he got to his knees and crawled out and turned to watch as Seeker. She slinked out and stretched her wings before she glanced at him and gave a chuff.

Levi frowned then turned towards the pile of ash that had been their fire for the night. "Well it looks like we need more wood for later but first he should find some food." he stated as he glanced around.

Seeker seemed to agree with him as she slinked into the bushes causing him to run after her. She moved pretty loudly at first but she seemed to be adjusting how she moved as they went and she slowly got quieter but she still wasn't perfect.

They probably walked a good hour from their camp before Levi stopped causing Seeker to stop an look back at him. "There are boars here, I saw one yesterday and it's the reason I got attacked by that Nightmare. Maybe if we go back to the stream I met it, maybe I could lure it out." Levi stated

Seeker seemed to think about it before she gave a nod and signaled for him to take the lead with her head. With him in the lead they made their way through the woods as Levi retraced his steps as best as he could and they walked for another few hours before finally they came to the stream.

"Well this is where that boar was so hopefully it lives around here." he said as he walked around. As he looked he could see the tracks from yesterday where he ran from the boar. Then he started to wander and Seeker stayed by the stream, hidden in the bushes.

"Here piggy, piggy, piggy!" Levi called out as he walked around. He knew that boars were aggressive and hopefully the stupid pig would recognize his voice."

Sure enough as he walked and yelled he heard an angry squeal and a form burst from the bushes not too far from Levi. The boy smirked as he and the Boar faced off in a Mexican standoff and Levi could swear he heard the classic standoff music.

Mr.Peppa narrowed his eyes at Levi and stood still for a moment before the boar suddenly let loose a shrill cry and charged at the boy who turned tail and ran back toward the river. The whole time they ran the boar was squealing angrily.

When Levi came to the stream he ran past Seekers hiding place and skid to a halt and turned around to see the boar burst out of bushes and then the crackling of electricity filled the air and a blue ball of electricity flew through the air. Levi watched as the attack flew straight over the boar completely missing it and connecting to a tree causing it to explode and shrapnel of wood flew everywear.

Levi ducked and covered his head as sharp wood flew past him and he yelped in pain as wood sliced into the back of his hand. When there was no longer wood flying in the air Levi looked at the back of his left hand which was bleeding and there was a good two inch long piece of wood impaled in his hand though thankfully it hadn't come out the other side.

Hissing in pain Levi pulled out the wood causing him to yelp from the pain and he squeezed his injured hand tightly as blood poured from the wound. With pressure on the wound he looked to see what happened to the boar.

There next to the river the boar's body lay with a massive chunk of wood impaling the animal's head. The blood poured from the animal's mouth and nose and it was clearly dead and Levi couldn't help but shiver as he realized that it could have been him lying there dead.

With a shuddering breath he turned to his sister who was walking towards him with her head down low. She stopped in front of him and he gave him an apologetic look. He didn't need her to write to tell that she was very sorry about the accident.

Levi put on a pained smile, "it's ok, I know you didn't mean to." he told her as he continued to put pressure on his wound. "Now come on, let's get back to camp." he told her as he began to walk back towards the way they had come from.

He heard Seeker drag the boar behind him and they walked in silence, as they did so Levi occasionally peaked at his wound which was starting to bleed less as time went by.

After about two hours Seeker had stopped to take a break from dragging the heavy body and she settled down on the ground. Levi sat down next to her and rested his back on her warm scaly side. His sister hummed and turned her head to him and stared intently on his injured hand which had finally stopped bleeding.

"Do you want to see it?" he asked as he showed it to her. She eyed the wound carefully and sniffed it causing her nose to wrinkle. After a moment she did something he never expected, she opened her mouth and slavered his hand with saliva as she dragged her tongue over his hand.

Levi pulled away from the sudden action and he shook his hand trying to get the sticky saliva off of his hand but then his eyes widened and he looked at his hand. His hand was still injured but the cut was less red and swollen and the pain had been numbed. He looked at his sister with a questioning look and she did a dragon's equivalent of a shrug.

"My instincts were telling me to lick it so i did" she scribbled into the dirt.

Levi gave her a look, "I appreciate it but next time please give me a warning." he said as he returned his hand to his side. They sat in silence for a good while and when they were feeling more rested they both got onto there feet and continued there walk back to camp.

When they finally arrived the sun was already past the point of noon and they set the boar down next to the river. Seeker began to use her claws the best she could to take the animal appart and while Levi left because he was getting a bit queasy from the blood and innards of the animal.

Instead Levi chose to walk along the river to collect wood for another fire and when he had enough he started piling some more on the side to feed the fire and keep it going. When he had enough wood for the night he began to gather some more branches with lots of leaves to better insulate their little shelter.

At one point Seeker lit the fire and together they made a few sharp sticks to skewer the meat. Then Levi had a few he stuck them into the ground and put the meat in their tops to slowly cook. As they let the meat cook Seeker instructed Levi to scrape the skins that she was able to pull from the animal and the boy cringed in disgust.

Seeker watched him with a smug look as she lay down in the dirt and watched her brother work. He was gagging and being a bit over dramatic in he opinion especially compared to what she had done when the boar was whole. By the time the meat was done Levi had set the skin down on a rock to face the sun and dry with the fur side to the rock.

They then removed the cooked meat and placed more meat on the fire to cook and they are what they had already. Levi bit into the bland meat but it was better than nothing and it would fill his empty stomach. Seeker seemed to be enjoying it far more and Levi assumed the seasonless meat probably tasted far better to the now carnivore.

When Levi had his fill he took what was left of the already cooked meat and he wrapped them in leaves and used some vines to tie them and he then put them in the frigged water where they would stay cold. He tied the other end of the vine to a bush next to the river.

When he went back to Seeker had moved he glanced around trying to find her and he finally saw her figure in the shadow of a tree. She was staring at the sky that was painted with the dusk colors. Deciding to let her be he went to tend to the rest of the meat and when he was done wrapping all that was left which was a lot he tied them to the rest in the water.

By then it was already dark and quickly drank his fill after he washed his wound which was already hurting again. With that he glanced at his sitter who was still staring into the sky. Even from a distance he could see her glowing ice eyes but other than that she was practically invisible.

Levi couldn't help but wonder what his sister was feeling, like him her life had changed but she was now in an unfamiliar body and she could only converse with him by writing but she didn't have all the time in the world to write.

He also knew she was missing home greatly, she was missing her dogs and horses while he missed his cat and they both missed their families. He knew he also missed his warm bed and clothes, he missed his phone and video games. He never was a really outdoorsy person unlike his sister.

She always had a love for nature and animals and she loved learning about all she could which he was grateful for. Without her he wouldn't have survived the Nightmare and if he had somehow survived he would have died by the cold or starvation.

He sighed at the thoughts and as he walked towards their shelter, he glanced at her one last time before he crawled in it and lay down in the bed of leaves they had made. It took him awhile to fall asleep but when he did he his sleep was restless.

Notes

Ok this one took a little thinking at the end but I think it turned out decently. I had first had a different plan for the end of this chapter but it needs its own chapter.
