Seeker and Small Bite flew in silence towards the west side of the island where the only beach was located. Seekers' eyes narrowed as they got closer and she began to descend into the trees where she was followed by Small Bite.
"Why land not go to sand place." The terrible terror asked as they both touched the ground.
Seeker glanced at him, "Hunters see us in sky. We land so no hunter see's us" she spoke with a chuf as she began to carefully walk towards the beach.
Both dragons tried their best to be quiet as they walken and when the beach came into view Seeker stayed in the shadows to better hide herself. When she glanced at the small beach she was surprised to only see a small row boat on the shore. There were no giant ships and cages on the beach like she expected.
She glanced at Small Bite who gave her an unsure look. She then slowly crept out from under the trees and she glanced around. Nothing was out of the ordinary but the small dingy that rested on its side on the beach. No footprints, no scents that would tell her something had been here recently.
Seeing they were safe, Seeker abandoned her caution and replaced it with curiosity as she walked across the sand towards the dingy. When she came to the small boat she glanced inside. It looked as though the dingy had long been abandoned.
The boat's wood was rotting away, the bottom of the boat long gone and just the sides remained. With a huff Seeker stepped away from the boat and she glanced at Small Bite, "Nothing, no hunters."
Seeker guessed that the Razorwhip had fallen into an old and forgotten dragon trap as she didnt think hunters would leave them when they left the island but she couldn't be sure.
She gave a huff and was about to take off when something did catch her eye in the sand. Moving the sand away with one of her paws revealed a familiar green arrow head without its shaft. Seeker's scaly mane bristled with unease and she gave a nervous snort.
Deciding to look further she flapped her wings causing a cloud of sand to fill the aid and when she blew it away she saw another broken arrows, shafts snapped in half, and a blade of jagged metal snapped in half.
Seeker gave a growl as a small sweet scent filled the air and she assumed that it was the scent of the residue of dragon root on the discarded and broken arrows.
"What wrong?" Small Bite asked as he approached her. His small eyes lannede and he also gave a growl. "Bad no scale spines, Not touch or make wings not think, wings go yeep."
"Yeep?" Seeker questioned for she was not familiar with the word and she wasn't exactly sure what it ment.
"Yeep, wings fail and not fly." Small Bite explained.
Seeker understood clearly that Yeep ment for a dragon's wings to fail them in flight. Obviously the arrows were well known by at least the dragons here if Small Bite knew what the arrows could do to a dragon.
Seeker couldn't help but feel sad for her friends as he had seen his flock taken by hunters as well as many other of the Islands' residential dragons. She could not imagine what the little dragon was feeling.
Gently she gave her friend a small nudge with her snout causing the little dragon to give her a questioning look.
"Not need to stay, no hunters. Go back to nest." She said to him.
Small Bite did not object as he let her guide him away from the beach and when they were far enough both dragons took to the air.
[A few miles away]
Levi watched as his sister and Small Bite as they flew away before he ran to their camp to gather their things. He grabbed what was left of their food and he tossed it and the boar hid into the shelter before he began grabbin brush and covering their shelter in hopes to make it look like just a pile of brush, dead trees and so on and when he stepped away it no longer looked like a shelter.
He pushed some of the brush around as he tried to make a small space he could crawl through and when he was satisfied he grabbed a branch of pine needles and he began trying his best to erase the dragon footprints that littered the area.
The task of erasing the footprints was far easier said than done and he wasn't sure if the hunters would be able to tell if someone had covered their tracks and he knew his work was far from perfect. He sighed as he finished his work, you could definitely see where the tracks had been covered but you could no longer tell what kind of tracks which he guessed were better than nothing.
With that he tossed the branch aside before he turned his attention to their fire pit, it was still smoldering from the fire earlier in the morning. He grimaced as he kneeled down and he started to push dirt over the ashes. The fire would be a big give away and he was afraid that even with burying the ashes there would still be the lingering scent and signs that the fire was there.
When he finished burying the ashes he stood up and glanced at the sky, StormSeeker and Small Bite still hadn't come back yet but he guessed they were probably taking their time and making sure it was safe.
Levi turned but stopped as he heard something in the distance and he held his breath as he listened for a moment. In the distance he could make out voices, human voices. Levi's eyes widened as he realized that those voices probably belonged to the hunters on the island.
Quickly the boy ran to the pile of brush that now hid his shelter and he squeezed his way in. He hissed as sharp thorns cut his skin as he made his way through before he made it inside. He then waited in silence as he held one of the metal spines in front of him just in case he needed a weapon.
Levi flinched as he heard the voices again and this time it was audible. "Are you sure it was this way?" Voice number 1 asked.
"Of course you dimwit, who do you think yer talking to" voice number 2 responded gruffly.
"Will you two just shut up, I don't feel like telling Ryker that it took so long because you dimwits couldn't do your jobs and bikered like children." voice number 3 spoke up followed by some inaudible muttering.
Levi's eyes widened as he heard the name Ryker and he cursed under his breath. "This is not good, we need to get the hell out of here." he mumbled to himself as the voices got further away. He was thankful they did not notice anything off but he wasn't sure if it would stay that way for long.
Deciding to not risk the men finding him if they back tracked her grabbed the boar skin and he wrapped the two Razor whip with it before he carefully made his way out of his shelter all the while adding a few more scratches to his skin. When he was out he made his way east.
He was careful to not make too much noise as he moved but it wasn't as easy as one would think. Levi couldn't help but wince whenever he stepped on some fallen leaves of a hidden branch. Not long after he started to move he found himself hiding as two burly vikings passed him as they burnished their crossbows and were glancing around obviously on the lookout for dragons.
Levi stood there hidden in the shadows of the trees and when he could no longer hear the men he began to move once again. He moved a little faster now in hopes of finding some place he could hide and figure out how to warn his sister if they hadn't already been captured yet by the dragon hunters theat now seemed to litter their island they had called home for the past couple of days.
(evil time skip)
Levi wheezed as he ran across the forest floor, his lungs hurt and they were screaming at him to stop and catch his breath but he couldn't. If he did the would catch him and then who knew what would happen to him, so he continued to run away from his pursuers who were crashing around behind him.
The boy turned sharply as he tried to gain distance from the men that were behind him and he glance back. The light was beginning to fade and the world around him had darkened making it difficult to see the men that were chasing him down. But that did not stop him from hearing them.
Suddenly the boy felt his led sweep out from under him and he yelped as he was suddenly hanging from one leg up side down. He glanced back as best he could as he spun slightly in the air. His eyes narrowed as he saw the two burly vikings burst out of the undergrowth from where he had come from before he got caught in the strap.
Both men skidded to a halt and Levi glared at them as they smirked. "Well look wha we have er, looks like we caught ourselves a trespasser."
Levi narrowed his eyes at the man, "How in the Ancients am I trespassing?" the boy growled out sourly.
"Yer in Hunter territory boy, this island has been used by the clan fer years." the man who had spoken before said as he walked over to a nearby tree. The man swung his sword and Levi heard a snap before he felt himself fall. The boy let out a grunt as he hit the ground and he pulled himself onto his hands and knees before he felt a large hand grab the back of his shirt.
The boy was pulled to his feet and the hand moved to his arm in a tight grip and he winced as he faced the hunter that was holding him.
"Odd looken boy aint he." the one holding him said as he pulled on the boy's shirt to get a look at it. The shirt no longer had the pretty pink flamingos as the shirt was now beyond dirty.
"Got that right, Never seen fabrics such as those, and they're so thin I'm surprised the boy hasn't frozen to death yet." the other said as he inspected the boy.
"Well, what do ya think we should do with em." the one holding him asked.
"Bring em to Ryker, e'll want to question the boy." the other said. With that in mind both men made their way through the forest with a struggling boy in their grasp. They didn't make it out unscathed as the boy bit and scratched at them in an attempt to free himself but all he got was a hard whap on the back of his head making him slightly dizzy.
The men led the boy for a good while and it had long become dark but eventually lights could be seen. The lights flickered and danced and the boy's eyes widened as they came to a large cave mouth that was lit by torches. The men dragged him inside and made their way down the steep path.
The cave eventually opened up into a large cavern that smelled of the sea. The cavern was brightly lit up by torches and the cavern was filled with water and there were makeshift docks and two boats floated proudly in the middle of the cavern.
The two men led him across the docks, as they made there way the boy saw many other hunters glancing his way before they continued what they were doing. Eventually the two hunters pushed him up onto a ramp that went up onto a boat.
They made there way up behind him and now he found himself staring up at a tall man who was glaring down at him.
