Summery: Lucifer had accepted his fate in Hell, it was the place he belonged. Until he saw something in a souls hell loop that changed everything.

Hell. The abode for the damned. The place he loathed most, except for the Silver City of course, but he needed to protect her from harm. To protect her from him. He knew that deep down in his heart that if had stayed on earth harm would find her on way or another. He knew Hell was where he belonged even if it pained him to be separated from her. This was for the best. For everyone. So, here he would remain, in fire and brimstone, until the end of time. In his melancholy Kingdom, a king who was just as much a tortured prisoner as the other wretched souls trapped here.

Days turned into months then into years. Until thousands of years had passed, but not a day goes by where he didn't think of the only woman that he has ever loved. He would never forget the way she looked the last time she saw her. Everything about her was absolutely perfect. Her flawless porcelain skin, her soft lips, and those piercing blue eyes that looked up at him with tears. As he wandered through the corridors of his decrepit realm. Her trembling words forever etched in his mind.

"No, see, this is...This is what I meant, Lucifer, when I...You can't leave me. Listen, I'm so sorry that...how I acted when I first saw your face, I...It was stupid and...Please. Please don't go. I...I love you. I love you. Please don't leave."

It broke his heart to leave her there alone on the balcony that night. He longed to hold her in his arms. Just one more time, but he knew it wasn't possible.

"You tell him."

"No. You do it."

"Tell me what?" The devil was pulled out of his trance when two of his demons were standing a short distance away. The larger demon was pushing the scrawny one towards him. They both stopped and looked up when they heard the booming voice. They timidly approached their king. Both extremely nervous to mutter a single word. "Well, out with it." The man demanded.

"There's a…" The little one began with a stutter. "There's a new soul…that you...you should go see." He finally finished as he stepped behind his large companion.

"Is that all?" Lucifer smirked, ever since his return to hell the demons seemed to be more obedient then ever, scared even. But this was next level.

"Well," The large demon started. "There is something…someone in his punishment you will want to see."

"Someone?" They peaked his interest, he had a feeling that he knew who it was. It made him smile. Upon is returned, one task that he gave him demons was to keep an eye on his beloved detective and they didn't disappoint. Since she was constantly arresting and at times killing the guilty, she would sometimes appear in their hell loop. Even though he knew it wasn't her, he would stand and watch with pride as his clever detective did what she does best. "Show me."

Lucifer slowly walked into the new soul's cell, a smile on his face as he instantly recognized the street he was on. It was a busy night on Sunset Boulevard, not too far from his beautiful home. The devil walked in the crowd and found the soul. A short coward of a man who was looking around nervously as he pulled his coat close to his chest as if protecting himself or something. Lucifer got up close and noticed that he held something in his hands.

"James Colbert! Freeze." The sounds of her voice made the Devil smile. The crowd began to disburse in panic, several hung around in the distance to watch as Detective Decker gun was pointed at the man. "You don't have to do this." The devil stood behind the man and watched his woman with pride.

"Actually, I do." The man slowly put his hands in the air. That is when Lucifer notice a remote in his shaking hands. The man's thumb hovering over a button. The devil knew exactly what that was. His heart dropped in his chest. "I have to do it. He told me to." Lucifer walked around the man and noticed a bomb strapped to his chest.

"Who told you?" Chloe asked in her gentle way. She lowered her gun, as she took a few steps toward him. If she was frightened, she would never show it. Always putting on a calm and brave face. That what made her so amazing at her job.

"Foolish Detective." Lucifer huffed to himself "You are too close." He rushed up to her the woman, he knew the she wouldn't hear him or that this wasn't even her, but he wanted her to listen to him so badly. "Please back up. Please leave." She took another step closer. He could hear the sirens behind them, at a distance, an army of squad cars and more than two dozen officers, Dan and Maze included. He ran up to Dan and was in his face. "Don't just stand there. Do something or are you completely useless. She is the mother of your child." Anger filled the Devil but he knew it was pointless. He turned back towards the love of his life.

"Stay back. I'll do it." The man with bomb demanded, his voice quivered.

"Let me help you." Her voice was always so caring, she just wanted to keep the world to be a safe place.

"No. Please walk away from this. Don't be a hero today. Not today." He was by her side once more. Eyes glossed over. His plea left unheard. Numb with fear, he stood by her and watched the scene unfold.

"You can't." The man cried, his thumb was dangerously close to the button.

Lucifer attention was pulled to a window in the tall building next to them. A faceless man stood in the window sniper rifle pointed at his detective. The Devil jump in front her when shots were fired. He was hoping to stop them, but they went through him and into Chloe's side. "CHLOE! NO! NO! NO!" He quickly turned to her. Her hand held onto her side. He could hear Dan call her name. Her ex-husband running towards them.

Lucifer remembered there was still a man with a bomb. But it was too late. He already pushed the button. The blast was large expanded towards them sending the detective flying backwards. The dust and smoke surrounded him as he dove to the ground in the direction of Chloe. He blindly felt around, but he couldn't find her.

It wasn't long until the dust subsided, and he was on all fours in a crowded street once more. He had found his feet and stood in horror of what he just witnessed. He was attempting to convince himself that this didn't happen. That it wasn't real. She can't be…

"James Colbert! Freeze."

Lucifer waved his hand. Everyone froze, expected for the soul of whose this hell loop belonged to, but the devil ignored the man's babbling confusion.

Slowly, he made the way to the detective. "This can't be it." He muttered to himself. This couldn't be that last time that he would see her. This wasn't even her, it was one of his demons disguised as her. He had to know. He needed to go back. He needed to see for himself.

It was still night in Los Angeles, or at least early morning when Lucifer made his way through the emergency entrance of the hospital. It was packed full of victims covered in ash from the explosion and from worried family members. He pushed his way through the crowd of worried humans and made his way to the nurse at the front desk.

"Chloe Decker? Is she here?" He demanded he tried to hide his quiver voice, but it betrayed him.

The nurse, who looked stressed with all the commotion that was happening pause when he heard the name. She looked up at the man, her eyes were filled with sympathy as she stood up. "She is. I wil..." The woman seemed to be overwhelmed.

"Lucifer!" A sweet voice called out to him in an already loud emergency room. As he turned around he was almost toppled over when little arms wrapped around his waisted.

"Trixie?" His voice broke. He went on one knee and gave the child a proper hug. He held her close as her head rested on his shoulder, wiping her tear on his jacket.

"You're here?" A familiar voice was surprised to see him there. Lucifer looked up to see his brother and his doctor, their child in her arms. He slowly let go of the little girl and stood up. "I was coming to tell you, but I had to bring…"

"Where is she? Is she alive?" Lucifer cut his brother off, he didn't want to hear his excuses even if they were legitimate.

"Follow me." Amenadiel started walking, Linda by his side. Trixie grabbed the Devil's hand and pull him along. Every step he took, his heart started to beat faster. The noise in the room was almost none existent as he followed his brother down the hall.

Outside the door to her room were a few officers. Ella, who was standing with Maze, looked at him with shock and confusion of how he was here. She just gave him a glare he has never seen from her before and she turned her back to him.

Lucifer stopped at the door, but Trixie dropped his hand and ran in. Dan was sitting in wheel chair with a few bandages on him. Trixie ran into his arms.

In the bed, there she laid. Almost unrecognizable. There were tubes everywhere. One in her mouth to help her breathe and others connected to her giving her needed fluid to keep her alive. He didn't know what they all meant. All he knew was this was bad. Most of her body was covered in bandages. The machines beside her made the monotone beep, to indicate her heart was still beating, but only with help.

He couldn't step forward, he wanted to, but his body didn't let him. Tears welled up in his eyes. He couldn't bear to see her like this, so lifeless. He's been here before, but this was ten times worse. His tears turned into anger as he turned around and started to storm off. Someone was going to pay for what they did and he was going to make sure of it.

"Lucifer?" Amenadiel ran after him. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to find the bastard that did this?"
