Evening -

Dave, Hotch and Reid had retraced the route to the cabin. It took them about thirty minutes before they found Derek's truck. The snow had stopped which was a blessing otherwise they may have missed the mangled heap that had crashed landed against a tree.

Meticulously, the three examined the scene; most of which had been destroyed or washed away by the rain and snow. What was clear to see was that the truck had hit something that destroyed the front tires sending the truck off the road and into the large tree on the side of the road. This was no accident in the traditional meaning of the word, and it would have taken a miracle for either Derek or Penelope to walk away without injury.

The three stood behind the truck looking at what was left of large tire tracks, possibly a van. Before any of them spoke, they'd all come to the same conclusion.

"This was no accident." Hotch began.

"But was this a trap for anyone that came this way..." Reid started.

"...or was it specifically for Derek and Penelope?" Dave finished.

"Judging by the tracks behind them, someone was here." Added Hotch.

"Is there anyway an ambulance could have picked them up? I mean maybe they were able to call for help." Reid wondered hopefully.

"If that were the case, then we would've been called too. There's no way either of them would not make sure we were called." Dave assured.

"This is not good, not good at all." Hotch murmured.

Rossi Cabin –

Will had decided to stay behind with JJ. It wasn't that he didn't trust that she could handle any problem that may come up, but he was wise enough to know that there was strength in numbers. He was no slouch and he'd faced his share of danger, but this was his family, and nothing would stop him from protecting, JJ, their sons, and the others.

JJ was finishing a call as he approached and when she turned to face him, he saw the concern in her eyes.

"What's wrong, Cher?"

"Nothing good."

Rossi, Hotch and Reid had called the authorities to help begin a search and were now headed back to the cabin. So, for the next several minutes JJ filled her husband in on her conversation with Dave. It would be daylight in a few hours, it would make it easier to find Derek and Penelope, she hoped. One thing for sure, it was going to be a long night with no leads to what happened to their friends.

Unknown location –

Cody's best weapon against Derek's family was the darkness and the bad weather. That along with the element of surprise made the group sitting ducks and he was itching to go hunting. So, with his van loaded with explosives, and firearms, he and his men headed away toward the large cabin. As usual, Earl was left behind to keep an eye on Derek.

Earl unlocked the door and let himself in carrying a tray. Even with Derek shackled and chained to the wall, he kept his eyes on his prisoner, Earl placed the tray on the floor within Derek's reach.

"You need to eat."

"Why are you going along with this? Derek began. "If anything happens to me or my family, you'll go to jail just like Cody and the others."

"You're not going to turn me against Cody. I owe him."

"Owe him? It must be a pretty big debt."

"He saved my life when I was in prison. So, if he tells me to hold you here until he gets back..."

"Gets, back; where did he go?"

"He's going to pay your friends a visit. Now, eat you're going to need your strength for what he has planned for you."

Derek violently pulled against the chains around his wrists.

"You are wasting your time."

"Don't do this!"

"Cody is going to kill your friends and family Agent Morgan and there is nothing you can do about it!"

Derek continued to struggle, kicking the tray of food away and lunging toward Earl.

"Let me go you son-of-a-bitch! Let me go!"

"It's a long time until breakfast." Earl snickered.

Derek's struggle increased as Earl stood and left the room.

"No! NO! Don't do this!"

Stoney, Cody's right-hand man pulled the van across from the large cabin and the three men got out. Stoney grabbed a large duffel bag, and the men made their way toward the cabin. Just as the trio made it across the street, Cody gave them final instructions and warnings.

"Stoney, I need you to make sure those SUVs aren't going anywhere."

"Got it."

Stoney headed toward the SUVs. Once he was at the first, he pulled out a small explosive and hid it under the front of the vehicle. Then moving quickly and quietly he did the same to the other one.

"Brody, I want you to go around the back and find a way inside, when you do, call me."

"Alright boss."

Home of Obie White –

Penelope slowly opened her eyes. The room was lit only by a small light on the nightstand next to her. She shifted slightly causing the small bed to creak under her weight. She heard a sound across the room and then light footsteps across the floor coming to a halt next to her. She wanted to move; she couldn't.

"Hello again." Then looking at her arms that had been restrained by the wrist to the bed. "I'm sorry about that, but I couldn't risk you falling."

The elderly man saw the confusion in her eyes as she struggled against the bindings. He'd seen it before especially in the last weeks of his wife's life. He leaned down smiling to reassure her that everything was going to be fine.

"Where am I?"

Penelope saw the man's smile fade as he reached to brush the hair from her face. Flinching, she shrank away from his touch. Now she saw a faint glimmer of moister in his eyes.

"I thought I had lost you, my dear love, don't worry everything is going to be alright, you'll see."

"I need to get back to my husband, please untie me!"

"I can't do that. I can't risk you wandering off in this weather and get lost."

"I need help! Let me go! I don't want to be here; my family will be worried about me."

"I'm the only family you need. I'll take care of you, I promise."

"Let me go! I don't belong here!"

"But you do and I'm going to help you remember everything." Then straightening and heading toward the door. "Just wait until our son sees you, he's going to be so happy that your home!"

Then he was gone, closing the door behind him.

"NO! LET ME GO! LET ME GO!"
