The spotlight shot a beam of pinkish hue on the midnight sky, covered with tantalizing stars. The song with steamy lyrics and a bop tune reverberated through the Alberona-Clive's household, the hypnotizing aroma of weed and alcohol mixed in the dense air, not to mention, the bodies grinding on the dance floor made her head throb in pain, and nauseous.
Contrary to the popular belief, the renowned heather of Magnolia High was such a loser as her dear friend quoted. From the minimal amount of people that Cana invited to her weekly party, she already feels claustrophobic.
In the prison of this obnoxious party, Juvia found solace in Cana's golden-hued kitchen; posting random pictures on her Instagram story, and throwing lies in her captions.
Her stomach growled, upset from the alcohol that Cana forced her to drink. Juvia ambled towards the cupboard in her bare feet to find some tea, searching for bags of tea or whatever edible as long as it's not liquor (but every cabinet that she opens, it has those God-forsaken liquids, what would she expect, anyway?).
Busy with her search, she didn't notice the presence looming behind her, and as she tiptoed once she found what she was looking for, a hand stole it from her reach.
"Hey, that's Juvia's!" she turned around, finding herself gazing at this gorgeous man with mischievous blue pools behind those dark strands of hair, a boyish smirk, and a pointed nose. Oh, did she mention that he was also half-naked with water trailing down his six-packs?
She wondered, how does she look? God, she doesn't look even presentable in her tipsy state! Where were Ultear and Meredy when she needed them?
"That's Juvia's," she found herself repeating her words, but this time, in a much gentler tone.
The gorgeous stranger leaned his back on the counter, waving the tea box in his oh-my-gosh so veiny hand. "I see. Weren't a fan of crowds either, are we?" he tilted his head.
Juvia nods as she looked down with a sad smile on her face, "Honestly, Juvia's claustrophobic and hates herself for being like this. She wants to have fun with everyone, but you see, she's here in the lonely kitchen."
Gray lazily walked towards the refrigerator, not bothering to close it as he poured water on the electric heater. Juvia stood glued on her spot; too amused as she watched how his back muscles flexed with his every movement (was hanging out too much with Cana turned her into a pervert?), she shook her head to shake her dirty thoughts away, deciding to just sit in the bar stool since she can feel her legs weakening.
"Juvia's name is Juvia," she introduced herself, leaning her face on her hands.
"I know."
"What?"
"I mean, you've been saying that since we met," a rosy tint crept up his cheeks, and he was thankful that he wasn't facing her.
Juvia flushed, scratching her cheek with her finger. "Juv—I wasn't like this before, it just became a habit. Which reminds me, you haven't told me your name."
"Do you need it?" the raven-haired man replied as if she was asking for his digits, seeming uninterested as he was pouring hot water into the teacup. He walked towards her, placing the cup of chamomile tea in front of her, the floral aroma seeping into her nostrils made her feel like she was healed.
Juvia mumbled a 'thank you, silently drinking her tea as she watched him fish out a can of beer in the refrigerator, leaving it open yet again.
"Why don't you close it?" she brought her perfectly-shaped brows together, quite vexed with his obvious act of wasting electricity, although, the refrigerator light only highlights his handsome features.
"Nah, it's hot." Weirdo.
Juvia stood up, moving to close the refrigerator when his rough fingers circled her wrist. Her ears perked up when the intro of her favorite song by Taylor Swift played in the background, paying no heed to her conquest to close the refrigerator anymore. "Juvia's favorite song!" she exclaimed, the buried extrovert in her revive with just one TS song.
His laughter echoed in the kitchen, "Seriously, Lover?"
She stomped her bare feet on the marbled floor, "Hey! Lover's a beautiful song, let go of Juvia, she must go out and dance like any other!"
The handsome man took hold of her soft hands, planting them on his broad shoulders, and before she could even complain, he placed his forefinger before her pouting lips. "Stay, Juvia. Let's dance here," he whispered as he trailed his hands down to her exposed waist; the cool feel of his fingertips burning her skin as if he was leaving a mark on her.
The pinkish hue on her cheeks deepened in color, deep-blue orbs widening, "Here, with you?" her painted fingers dig on his shoulders, "In the refrigerator light?" she asked in between the fast pacing of her heart and the only reply that she gets is a simple nod.
Lost in his mesmerizing pairs of blue, she began to sway with him to the sweet and heartfelt melody of the song. Their movements may seem awkward, yet it was fluid like water. The emotions that she was feeling right now, confusion, shame, and this unfamiliar feeling brewing in her system feels like it was going to burst out of her chest — like waves crashing down harshly on the boulder.
Damn, she wasn't going to say it but she was so going to say it. As cliche as it sounds, his beautiful eyes were penetrating her soul as he leaned his face closer towards her to whisper in her piercing-adorned ear, his husky voice sending electricity in her veins, "I'm Gray. Gray Fullbuster."
As swift as the romantic music ended, no pun intended, he was already by the door, leaving her behind in the golden-hued kitchen. With only his name at the tip of her tongue as her souvenir, he left her craving for more of him.
A/N. Heyo, beautiful gruvia stans! The chapters that would be posted here were the narrative part of my social media AU on Twitter, so it may feel incomplete, because it indeed is. This book can also be read as standalone since I would mostly narrate the important parts. If you want to read the whole fiction, then just search my Twitter account which is @thecatastrcphic. Thank you for reading, reviews are appreciated!
