Fallout: Kazuma the Road Warrior? XVI
Disclaimers I don't own Kono Suba or Fallout, please support official releases, and your fan communities.
Since the beginning of time, man was bathe and birth in both blood and iron, and as the time changes so did the reason for this continuing practice.
Be it simply based on land, resources, to survival, or how one man claims war based on different ideologies, beliefs or even out of discriminating diverse differences, this is but our way of life.
A good example to today in the post nuclear world happens to be the upcoming second battle for Hoover Dam between the NCR and the Legion.
As in turn this war has brought out arguably mainly the worst of people from not only on both sides, but those who happen to be in the Mojave.
But it can be said this war brought out the best of people, be it how the injured pride of the Legion has riled them for this second battle, or the atrocities committed by said Legion has brought in a generation of brave young men and woman to carry on the beliefs of their values against the Legions barbaric practices.
One such example is a young NCR Veteran Ranger by the name of Art Legend.
Left as a surviving orphan when a his home patch was attacked by Legion, for 2 days and nights the young boy ran for his life with the Legion and their dogs on his tail.
While his grit and wit of survival would have most definitely pardoned him to be recruited within to the Legion, the boy was saved by an old friend of mine when she first joined the ranks of the Ranger.
Since that day, he decided to stand for those who couldn't fight for themselves and enact his revenge towards any to all of Caesar's Legion and all those who support them.
His biggest strength comes from his high skill in guns, unarmed, and knowledge towards explosions.
Armed with a standard Ranger Sequoia, all he ever needs is 5 rounds to lay waste on anyone or anything that opposes him, and when he's out of bullets, he's been known to switch towards his bare fist or even flash bang grenades.
With Art Legend
Walking along the road towards the Legions main land camp that was in Cotton Cove, Art kept a safe distance in case of anyone unaware dared traveled these roads or if Legion thinking they're free to continue on their torment in the Mojave.
With his helmet off, he was revealed to have a small scar on his right eyebrow, as his natural tanned skin indicated his ethnic background that of Hispanic according to the G.E.C.K.
Hair kept clean and short for any male within the NCR ranks, but he wasn't one to shy away from having a streak of garnet in his hair line as his brown eyes were covered by the binoculars he was using to keep out for any Legion, Raiders, or monsters of the Mojave.
His answers came in by a band of Legion Assassins charging at him with Carbine Rifles, and one holding a chainsaw.
"Kind of unfair now" commented Art as he put his binoculars on his hip, before putting on his combat helmet on.
Not moving an inch, Art stood his ground arms cross as the Legion readied to massacre the Veteran Ranger, but in a blink of an eye, the majority were sent sky high or were blasted back and across the ground.
Holding in Art's hand was a detonator trigger as he smirked under his masked as he had carefully planted on ounce of C4 on the ground and waited for the Legion to walk in his trap.
Of course there was a few survivors from the blast, but it didn't deter from his smarmy attitude at the moment.
Walk his way forward towards the survivors, he walked up towards one laying next to his Carbine Rifle, before swiftly stomping on his neck.
Of the things that definitely stands Art out compared to other NCR Veteran Rangers and soldiers are his unique abilities he offers to the field.
His first skill reflects on his gunslinger abilities, where his bullets have a 65% chance of inflicting cryo damage.
Charging towards Art head on was a Legion Centurion armed with a flamer with extended mags.
Turning around while flipping his duster behind his back, Art took out his Sequoia Revolver and within the first shot turned the Legion Centurion into Ice, before firing another round and saw that the man shattered into chunks of frozen meat chunks to the ground.
Give the man any form of power fist and it's variations, and he can insta-kill most human and non feral Ghoul based enemies, while delivering additional damage towards feral Ghouls, Super Mutants, and wasteland abominations, though the weapon itself breaks down 85% faster.
Running up to bat was a Praetorian armed with a displacer glove, as he lunged forward to deliver a long lunging blow, but Art had gripped the man's arm in place, before delivering a strong punch through his elbow and completely breaking his arm.
Not entirely done, he grabbed the displacer glove and with one swift uppercut to the jaw, blew the entire Praetorian's torso off his body, before turning around and delivered a swift punch to the gut of a Legion Prime.
By then, the weapon itself was already broken, but the Legion Prime soldier himself was lying dead on the ground and was laying in a pool of his own blood as blood poured out of every orifice in the man's body.
" Who's next" said Art as their fight caught the attention of a Deathclaw who went to town on the remaining Legion as Art began to groan for breaking the displacer glove when he could've used it.
As soon as the remaining Legion died, all that stand was now Art and the Deathclaw.
Quickly loading his Sequoia, Art was sent flying after a single swipe from the Deathclaws claws as he not only dropped his weapon, but got the wind knocked out of him as he stared down the Deathclaw.
Art's final ability is called the Beast of California, where should his health drop below more than 50%, not only his, but those accompany him gain increased agility that raises more the lower his health is.
Reaching in behind his duster, Art tossed a flash bang grenade at the Deathclaw to buy him some time.
With the abomination now stuck in a daze, all Art had to do was make a mad dash to pick up his revolver once more and in lightning speed not only did he reloaded his weapon, but fired at such a rapid pace that the Deathclaw collapsed to the ground as its body just began to freeze, further confirming that it's deader than the Mojave dirt.
"Hiss, damn thank god that we rangers get these advance prewar riot armor" Art said as he admired the scratch marks across his torso as he could feel a tickle of blood running down his chest.
Elsewhere
Sitting at a campfire alongside some traveling merchants was the Storyteller alongside Edna as they took the night to hear one of the man's story.
"One of the only other few Rangers I had the pleasure of teaming up with, to say that this man was unusual was definitely an understatement" retold the Storyteller.
"Though to be fair, only one other man stood on equal footing when it came to combat, though unlike with Art Legend, I had to go up against the man" began the Storyteller.
This man had a tough upbringing, and while that could've changed at some point since he became a citizen of the NCR and started a family, that was all taken away from him, further making him the most dangerous man alive.
There's an old saying in regards to never picking a fight against a man who has nothing to lose, and this man is the picture definition of that saying.
A jack of all trades in terms of firearms, but prefers using his precious revolver, as he wore his signature jacket as if it wasn't already enough for his scarred face to stand out, Conrad Kellogg was the most dangerous man I had to fought and there were indeed reasons as to why.
But that my friends is a story for another day.
Hey guys, thank you all so much, this is part one of the short stories I intend to deliver to you guys today, but before continuing to the next chapter I feel like I should answer some questions and concerns that you may all have.
First of all this isn't me jumping the shark entirely when I said that I was going to based these next chapters as to the character introduction trailers than we saw in Borderlands.
Yes, this newly revamped Art has 3 different abilities as will the upcoming characters, but it's not out of this world or overpowered enough that it wouldn't fit in the Fallout universe as a whole.
The cryo damage while you do see in borderlands you also see in fallout 4 in legendary weapons that can and will do cryo damage.
In terms of the using power fist and it's variations, I did show in previous chapters as to how powerful they may actually prove to be since the beginning I've done nothing but used my free creative writing to make the story interesting when using the available weapons in this world, yet I also kept myself in mind that there are rules to follow in Mojave and I don't want to break those or my story as a whole.
And the last one is definitely with the intended purpose as a companion perk something that may or may not be shared in the upcoming chapters with the other characters.
With that said please enjoy the next three chapters while also leaving any to all questions in the review section or PM me for anything else in that regard.
This has been your Humble Narrator Tobi Yaza. =3
