Fallout: Kazuma the Road Warrior? XVII

Disclaimers I don't own Kono Suba or Fallout, please support official releases.

If you take everything from a man and leave him with nothing to live, he becomes the most dangerous man anyone could ever face.

Especially from those who came from nothing and worked their way to secure themselves a safe job with a wife at home caring for their beloved daughter.

You take that away, the man will feel absolutely nothing and will go out of his way to kill those responsible, and against all odds will succeed in facing all odds and leave nothing but a trail of used bullet shells and dead bodies.

Ever since losing his family, Conrad Kellogg lived a long dangerous and lonely life out across the American Wasteland as a Merc for higher to even an assassin.

No one knew where Kellogg had went or how he survived well past his human life span, but given the marvels of what we have to offer out here in the wasteland, it's safe to assume it can be a range from possible cyborg implants of enough radiation to look like a ghoul with minimal scars.

Though I can tell you as to why he'd bother making a trip back to the NCR, a place he used to call home.

With Kellogg

Making a promise towards himself to come back home, Kellogg would always make a trip back to California once every 50 years to pay his regards and respects towards the family he once had.

Not worrying about the affairs of the NCR or the Legion or any of the other big players and those on the side that'll shape the Mojave, Kellogg wanted little to nothing involved with the NCR.

Dressed exactly how he left the Common Wealth and the Institute as a whole, and armed with his trusty revolver, and still barring that same old scarred mug, and he was bound to turn some heads, and not in a good way.

Making his way out of San Francisco, Kellogg was ready to depart alongside a caravan ride that has tie ins to the Shi, and given how they owed him a favor, he was ready to cash out.

But his ride back home was definitely going to bumpy, especially at the first merchant and travelling booth station within the NCR borders.

"Hold on a second, you're a wanted killer" said the Sergeant as it was he and was just him and 5 other NCR troopers.

"Conrad Kellogg you're under arr-raaagggghhhh" choked the Sergeant as Kellogg strangle hold the man in a vice grip, before whipping out his revolver and began to drop the surrounding NCR soldiers.

Once the troopers were dead, he head butted the Sergeant in his grasp, before firing a round in his chest.

Looking at the caravan like nothing happened, Kellogg slowly made his way to them and awaited for them to depart.

What makes a man like Kellogg so dangerous is that he's known for not only for his way around a gun, but also in espionage and stealth.

For example when stealth isn't an option, but rather a direct approach, Kellogg and his trusty revolver are guaranteed to deliver 30% additional damage, while also ignoring more 25 DT based on the persons armor.

In the days coming by since his trip back home, Kellogg, and the frustrating caravan he was traveling with, were constantly on the attack, be it from NCR or Legion.

Still it didn't deter Kellogg as he was determined to make it back to the Common Wealth, even when he was up against members of the NCR wearing salvaged power armor from the NCR/Brotherhood War.

Laying nothing but clean headshots in any one wearing power armor, thinking that it was going to protect them, Kellogg proved himself that he was more than capable to take out larger outposts by himself than anyone else in either NCR or Legion territory.

Even then, he could say he was given a challenge here and there, as he was forced to make a mad run over a barricade of sand bags to avoid incoming gun fire from power armored NCR soldier wearing power armoring and holding a damn minigun.

Once he was done reloading, he shot back up from his spot and landed another clean headshot into power armored NCR soldier, before running out from hiding as he caught wind of a first recon sniper that had missed Kellogg by an inch.

While all I've been telling you is nothing but how challenging Kellogg is in direct combat, it's not right to forget how he stands in stealth.

When the man gets knocked down hard enough, he'll naturally turn invisible almost like he had just activated a stealth boy for about 20 seconds, and whether he's crouching or not, silent weapon or not, he'll deliver bonus stealth critical hit damage during this period.

Finally getting an idea who the Legion were, granted the lowest based of human life forms that he knew The Institute would agree to by such a statement, proven to be a challenge.

His caravan, ordered on his regards, ran off ahead as Kellogg fended the Legion off.

"If this what the NCR has been facing now, thank god I left" said Kellogg as he shot an incoming attack from a Legion recruit in the shin, before getting punched to the ground from a Centurion.

Wiping the blood off his lip, Kellogg surprised the remaining Legion, when he turned invisible.

Not sure what to do, the remaining Legion stayed ignorant as Kellogg picked up an service rifle off the ground and began to lay waste to the standing raiders.

It wasn't until that they all dropped dead did Kellogg tossed the service rifle to the ground and was visible to the human eye, before he made his back to the caravan he was with.

One final note to add with Kellogg when he's within your party is what while he does seem to naturally attract the wrong crowd and attention, probably one of his only positives is that enemies killed have a 25% chance guaranteed to dropping a stealth boy within their inventory upon death.

Another day, another group wanted Kellogg dead, though it seemed that the further east he went of California, the more he found himself killing Legion.

Speaking of, Kellogg took note of the Legion and the stories he hears about them, and was actually surprised how a band of raiders who are armed with nothing but their bare fist and machetes at the most, are able to stand to the NCR.

Granted you can call it an entire empire run by raiders, ruled by one man, but the fact stands that these men choose to willingly get into a gun fight with the NCR with nothing but knives and their fists left Kellogg questioning more and more the state of the NCR as a whole.

Still there wear cases where they would fight would guns, and with that carried other goods on their bodies, like the abundance of stealth boys he's been collecting and was selling as he speaks.

"Right, this is far as we can take you, frankly I need a vacation out in the strip" said leader of the caravan, "Know anyone who can take me further east" asked Kellogg.

"I recommend taking up a ride with the Happy Trails Caravan Company, that's the only caravan I know who likes to take trips way out east" said the leader of the caravan.

"Will do, and thanks again for the ride" said Kellogg as he was determined to continue on his journey back to the Institute and the Commonwealth as a whole.

Elsewhere

"These natural skills alone combined with whatever Institute based technology and upgrades they've given this man over the years have made Kellogg a dangerous man" explained the Storyteller towards a lone man draped in full body cloak as the only thing visible was his underside of his mouth with a cigarette in his mouth.

"Is that so" said the man with a gruff voice, "Indeed, I've only encountered him only once, and that was enough for me, frankly I don't think there's anyone here in the American wastelands that could stand their ground, less they be a parent who lost their child and Kellogg himself was somehow involved by such driven ambition for revenge, though what are the odds of that happening" explained the Storyteller.

"While history has shown that facing a man with nothing to live for can be dangerous, I can confidently say nothing can compare to the driven ambition of a parent when their children is involved though that's a story for another day" said the Storyteller.

The stranger took one more drag from his cigarette before putting it out before tilting his head towards the Storyteller, "I don't suppose you can tell me a story about a man named Snake and Project Rex" asked the man in question.

"Funny how you should ask, for I got a tale for you stranger" said the Storyteller as he began to retell the exploits of Naked Snake to his son Solid Snake as he learned things from a different perspective of his father's actions.

There you guys go, tell me your opinions in regards to that of Kellogg's stats and abilities cause I felt like I made his skills the most broken out of everyone, but at the same time also grounded to an extent in following the rules of both wastelands in the Fallout universe and that in the Mojave.

Next Chapter is Snake, and make sure to read the final authors notes in the last chapter for announcements and plans for the future.
