Fallout: Kazuma the Road Warrior? XXV

Not far out of the way from Camp Searchlight, the group within the current team Kazuma decided to set camp inside of the now abandoned Legion Raid Camp, courtesy of them.
As Raul and Ed-e volunteered to patrol the area in case Legion were to arrive while they were setting up their defenses as Cass was planting frag mines around the area and away from them.
Meanwhile Kazuma and Aqua were setting up a measly Gecko steak dinner with whiskey and water to drink.
"So tell me Kazuma, do you find me cute or hot cooking like this" flirted Aqua, "Besides your sexy plump ass, everything about your appearance I find to be cute" flirted back.
"Like what" asked Aqua as she wanted him to praise her, "Your hair when it's down, when you first wake up, and your lips especially" said Kazuma.
"Aw, as a reward I shall allow you to kiss these cute lips" said Aqua as she began to pucker up as Kazuma wasted no time in taking the invitation.
While everyone was happy about the 2 being a couple, they were none the less not to thrilled in seeing their nonstop over affectionate display to the point they found it to be gross.
"I swear you guys so much as fornicate out in the open, I'm going on ahead to face those Legion assholes myself" said Cass, "At the very least be sure to do it on the other side of the ledge of the camp" said Raul as Ed-e beep in agreement over the gross lovey-dovey display.
"Don't be jealous of our love" said Aqua, "Jealous isn't the word I use" said Cass, "Well what word would you use" "Justice" said Kazuma.
"Why justice" asked Cass, "Cause where's the justice" cried Kazuma, "Here's the justice darling" said Aqua as both continued to make out.
"That's it, I'm eating dinner next to the pile of dead Legion corpses, they're less disgusting than the 2 of you" said Cass as she took her plate and a full bottle of whiskey with her to eat in peace.
"I'm gonna keep her company" said Raul as Ed-e followed behind the ghoul leaving the couple alone.
"Hey Kazuma" said Aqua, "Yes I'm Kazuma" said Kazuma, "Feed me the dinner I made us".
"You really are a lazy goddess at times you know that" said Kazuma, "I just like to be pampered, especially by my boyfriend" Aqua said cutely as they continued to embrace one another as they laid by the fire.
After they spent some quality time together just cuddling and aimlessly staring at each other, they decided to have dinner while staring out into the skies.
"Heh" chuckled Kazuma, "What's so funny Kazuma" asked Aqua, "Nothing I just remembered so many nights as a child and well into my teen years of always staring out into the large empty starry night sky and asked myself questions like why are we here and if there's a god and if so what's their plan".
"These days, I know there's a bunch of gods out there and our their current plan for us at the moment is for you and me to get out of here together in one piece" said Kazuma as the realization kind of killed his thoughts on the never ending possibilities for what the future had in store for him.
"Well I can assure you, you won't be able to find a goddess just as cute as me" said Aqua as she rested her hand on top of Kazuma's.
"As for what comes after this mess, that is entirely up to you to decide" said Aqua before leaning in for a kiss.
Soon they had finished up their dinner and snuffed out the fire before both called it a night as they readied themselves for whatever new adventure was in store for them tomorrow.
The Next Day
Waking up as the sun was rising was their cue to get up as they continued to patrol the Mojave was always a good idea since it was brisk enough to travel, and not wake up half baked under the sun.
Eventually they found themselves back on the outskirts of Camp Searchlight as Kazuma was suiting up his advanced radiation suit.
"I want to come along and help" said Aqua as she, Cass, and Raul were tasked to stay behind as Kazuma and Ed-e were off to face off and clear out the ground zero town.
"We only have one advanced radiation suit at our disposal, and while we do have an abundance of rad-x and Radaway, I don't think it's enough for all of us to cure whatever radiation sickness we get" said Kazuma.
"At least let me tag along boss" insisted Raul since radiation doesn't even bother him, "Last thing is be responsible for you turning feral on us, besides if anyone has a good chance surviving by themselves, it's me" Kazuma said confidently, before Ed-e beeped next to him.
"Yes Ed-e I didn't forget you" said Kazuma as he began to strap Maria on his hip, chances knife on the left side of his shoulder as he carried Lincoln's Repeater in hand.
"Promise me that if things become too dangerous you ran back here no matter what" said Aqua as she carried his helmet, before Kazuma planted a kiss on her cheek.
"I promise" said Kazuma before Aqua putting his helmet on as he began to walk into a war zone with just Ed-e.
Even after taking a handful of Rad-x pills and putting on the radiation suit, his pip-boy Geiger counter was going off the charts as he walked the vacant streets of Camp Searchlight.
As he approached the town, Kazuma was instantly greeted by feral ghouls wanting to tour him to pieces as they came charging at him with combat knives.
Entering V.A.T.S. and aiming for their heads, Kazuma instantly took out 3 feral ghouls by himself, before entering V.A.T.S. once again as he had made himself invincible in taking on hoards of enemies by himself.
He continued this process again and again as he made sure to collect the dog tags of the NCR soldiers, before entering the towns church's bunker where he promptly met Logan and his crew of prospectors.
"What the fuck are you doing here" said Logan as those were his last words before Kazuma put a bullet in his head.
Startled by the sudden death of their boss, the other prospectors were too late to do anything when Kazuma and Ed-e killed them shortly afterwards.
Searching their bodies for their everything, including the clothes on their back, Kazuma made sure to take some more rad-x and top himself off with some Radaway before continuing to clear out the town.
Once he was fully rested, he stepped back outside and walked his way towards where Private Kyle Edwards was located at.
Unfortunately the outside was surrounded by Radscorpions, as Kazuma and Ed-e readied themselves for a fight.
Backing away as he took out Maria as Ed-e began to lay down some covering fire as the closest Radscorpion was turned into a pile of ash.
Using Maria, Kazuma began to lay fire and out down one more, before the last 2 caught him by surprise as he stumbled back and landed on his ass.
While Ed-e was able to take out one more by continuously shooting at it with its laser, Kazuma got nicked in the arm before kicking the radscorpion in one of its eyes, before he could finish reloading Maria.
Dropping the firearm, Kazuma quickly grabbed Chance's Knife off his shoulder to block the sting of the radscorpion, before kicking it in its eye again as Ed-e delivered the killing blow.
Getting up, Kazuma notice that on top of getting an injury on his left arm, his radiation suit was damaged as evident based on the large tear.
"Beep-beep" said Ed-e as it hovered close to Kazuma, "I'll be fine, let's just grab the last dog tag and we'll go back to Aqua and the others" said Kazuma as he picked himself up and snuck inside Private Edwards house.
Normally Kazuma would try to sweet talk his way into getting the dog tag, but the injury on top of the radiation heat was starting to take effect on the already handle with care Road Warrior.
So Kazuma was pretty fortunate when he saw the ghoul was taking a nap and took it as an opportunity to kill him using the Mister Sandman perk, before heading back out.
"Jeez, it's so much fucking hotter out here than normal" huffed Kazuma as his radiation sickness was rising by the second as Ed-e beeped in concern.
"Come on, let's hurry back we got a mission to complete" said Kazuma as he began to drag himself back into the outskirts of the town as Ed-e followed Kazuma.
Even if he were to take some more rad-x or Radaway, Kazuma was starting to feel faint as he began to lean his body against the building of the ruined church.
"Ed-e… please get… help…" said Kazuma as Ed-e beeped in confirmation before flying off as Kazuma began to lean down and rested his back against the ruined church.
I wondered if my great grandfather was spared of dying like this and dyed with range of the atomic blast, thought Kazuma as he couldn't find his situation to be ironic since the cause of his great grandfathers death was left a mystery after the American's bombed his people's country.
Mother, father, brother, I'm sorry but… I guess there's another Satou in our family to die another nuclear related death, thought Kazuma as his eyes were starting to get heavy and his vision blurry.
Thankfully, Ed-e came back with Raul who wasted in no time in picking up Kazuma.
"You're not gonna die on me Jefe, not when you can accomplish so much in this wasteland" said Raul as he hurriedly made his way back to Aqua.
Later
By the time Kazuma had woken up, he found himself in one of the few tents pitched by Sergeant Astor and at least 3 used bags of Radaway next to him and Aqua.
"How long was I out" asked Kazuma as he began to sat up before Aqua threw herself on top of him and hugged her man.
"Kazuma, you're alive" said Aqua with relief as Kazuma began to hug her back as he was thankful to be alive.
But as soon as they pulled away, Aqua went and instantly bitched slapped him as his head spun back a little.
"The fuck was that about" said Kazuma angrily as he held the spot where Aqua slapped him, "That's for being a careless asshole and getting yourself nearly killed like that you idiot" Aqua said angrily.
"I didn't die and you didn't need to slap me like that you bitch goddess" Kazuma said as he pulled his hand off his cheek, "Oh I'm not even close to bitching yet, and furthermore this was the reason why I didn't want you to go alone" said Aqua.
"I didn't go alone, Ed-e was with me the entire time" said Kazuma, "Thank god he did, otherwise who'd know what I do if the man I loved and promised to protect me died without any of us knowing" said Aqua before taking a deep breath.
Not being able to make a comeback, Kazuma remained silent in defeat as Aqua rested her hand on his and gripped it tightly.
"Look if you're still hung up about me getting punched a few days back get over it already, those punches will heal, but death from radiation poisoning and sickness will never heal" said Aqua.
Truth of the matter that was true for Kazuma as he felt as a man, it's his responsibility to put his life on the line for his woman and face danger head on and keep her out of harm's way, in spite of his ways of being gender equality.
Maybe he wasn't meant to chivalrous, maybe he went over his head, who knows really, other than him learning a valuable lesson today.
"Aqua, I'm sorry for worrying you, alright" said Kazuma, "I'll consider apologizing you later on, for now everyone is waiting for you" said Aqua as she stepped out the tent first.
Getting up, Kazuma began to walk his way outside the tent, not realizing that when Aqua said everyone was waiting for him outside, she forgot to mention everyone-everyone.
"Kazuma" said Darkness and Megumin as both ran up and hugged the Road Warrior.
"How are you feeling" asked Darkness, "I'm doing good" admitted Kazuma as he was nervous over how worried, when they should be mad at him at the bare minimum, since the whole Mojave knows that he and Aqua are boyfriend and girlfriend.
"That's good" said Darkness with a smile, before it dropped where she delivered a swift blow to his gut, knocking the wind out of Kazuma.
"Why…" gasped Kazuma as he began to cough, "For being a bastard and leading and toying with my heart" said Darkness before Megumin went forward and slammed the butt of her grenade launcher in his face, knocking Kazuma back to the ground.
"You truly are a scoundrel and trash, so I hope your happy in having a girlfriend" said Megumin with spite.
"Look, we were gonna tell you both in person, but someone blabbed about it on the radio, also the monorail to Camp McCarran was destroyed" groaned Kazuma as he began to pick himself up and wipe the blood off his lip.
"Also Megumin, what the fuck is your problem blowing up the damn monorail" asked Kazuma as he had his grievances with the loli.
"Before you lay your hands on Megumin, just know that Boone did his part" said Chris as Kazuma looked at the sniper who nodded to that statement.
"Thank you Boone, I owe you some Coyote tobacco when we get the chance" said Kazuma as he began to pick himself up and began to look at how large the group has gotten even more since their adventures together.
"Look, my problems with my team aside, I'm glad you're all here and if I were to make a wild guess, we're all ready to head into Caesars Fort because of our invite" said Kazuma as he and Chris wore the mark of Caesar around their necks respectively.
"That's stating the obvious, the my question is what are we gonna do once we're at the grace of Caesar himself" asked Arcade, "You've read William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, I think it's obvious what we're gonna do" said Kazuma.
"Just tell me in advance when you intend to pull the dagger ahead of time so that I could run for the hills" smiled Arcade, "The way how we're doing it, they wished we did it with daggers and what not" said Kazuma before looking back at Camp Searchlight.
"Kazuma what are you thinking" asked Aqua, "We still got some unfinished business here" said Kazuma, "What do you mean, we turned in the dog tags, got paid and a weapon I think we're good".
"There's a unique weapon inside the fire department that's up for grabs, but I can't do this alone, I'm gonna need some help" said Kazuma.
"If it's in the fire station, then I shall go alongside with Raul, Chris, Arcade, and Megumin, you stay here and rest" said Darkness, "The hell with that" said Kazuma as he was ready to suit up, before Darkness went choked hold him to sleep.
"Thank you Darkness" said Aqua, "I'm upset with you, so please don't talk to me" said Darkness as the atmosphere got tense as those who were going back into town were suiting up.
"Told you we should've kept things slow in our relationship" whispered Kazuma to Aqua, "What!? Are you saying you regret having sex with me" Aqua said angrily as everyone heard her.
"Seriously would it kill you to be low key in these situations" Kazuma said angrily as everyone was staring at the couple at this point, "Oh no, you're still on thin ice with me still or have you forgotten like that fact I gave you my love and my virginity you cherry swiping scoundrel NEET of the Mojave, cause if so give it back to me right now" Aqua said pointing an accusing finger at him.
"Do you even think before speaking, or has your intelligence dropped back to a sub brick as I recalled you practically date raped me when you knocked me over the head with that bottle of wine" said Kazuma.
"Only cause the one time you decide to act chivalrous instead of the pervert shut-in that you are, tried to gently deny my feelings instead of planning out the perfect romantic night together and wearing that sexy sleepwear for you, or did you forget" Aqua said.
Before their conversation could continue, a grenade whizzed passed both of them as it explode about ten yards away from the couple as gravel was sent flying and hitting the couples feet.
"Shut up" said Megumin with a straight face and calm tone as she was responsible for nearly blowing them both to kingdom come.
"Maybe we should discuss this elsewhere" said Kazuma, "Agreed darling" said Aqua as they began to gather themselves up, "And where do you guys think you're going" asked Megumin.
"Yeah we don't feel safe being with you guys so I think me and Aqua are going on ahead" said Kazuma with a straight face.
"Oh no you don't, we're still not done discussing about how you 2 are a thing after I and Darkness have been fighting for your attention" said Megumin.
Knowing how there was only one way out of this, Kazuma began to pull out Esther from his inventory as everyone, but Cass and Raul either backed away or desperately tried to find cover.
"If I give you this, can we discuss about this later on" said Kazuma as Megumin was already eager to hold the weapon that can blow anyone to hell and back.
"Kazuma are you insane" asked Boone, "Relax, she doesn't have any mini nukes in her inventory, nor do I intend to give her any" said Kazuma as Megumin was too distracted to pay attention to what he said.
"So where should we meet you guys then" asked Veronica, "Meet us at the Snipers nest, that's the safest place for anyone of us to get infect by radiation poisoning" said Kazuma before he and Aqua hit the road.
At the Fort
After having survived another one of his hours long black out headaches, Caesar was ready to deliver his new plans before he got a visit from one of his Frumentarii.
"The hell are you doing here" demanded an irate Caesar, "Caesar, we've gotten word that the Via Bellator and Courier are not far from arriving" said the Frumentarii.
"About fucking time, now fuck off already" said Caesar, "Ave" said the Frumentarii before leaving.
"Men, set aside any battle plans from here on out and let's prepare to give our Road Warrior and his friends a warm welcome, and if they should oppose me get ready to make an example of them and have their heads be sent in a fucking box to General Oliver" said Caesar.
"Ave, true to Caesar" chanted his top Praetorians as Caesar could hardly meet the Road Warrior in person.
I'm going to end things here and save some room for next chapter when the group finally confronts Caesar at long last.
I won't go into any details as to what may or may transpire and yet I don't I need to as I've shown which side of the Mojave everyone, and also in part your Humble Narrator, they're on and the Legion is definitely not one of them.
Otherwise like always thank you guys for your continuing support especially during these hectic times, but I do this simply to bring joy and entertainment over this crappy year.
On an unrelated note, I've been working on an original light novel for some time now, that's been finished and is in the process of being edited before I seek out for a distributor and any potential artist to illustrate some of the characters and chapters to the story.
So if you guys can recommend any good distribution companies that are known to publish isekai light novels as I intend to make it into a series, and some good artist on either Deviant Art or Twitter you could recommend that would be awesome.
