Marinette POV:

These last few days have been a bit weird.

This one guy came in screamed at me then came in the next day and it was like he had a totally different personality. After that he has been coming constantly. But it's not like I mind it, it's always best to have people around in the café.

"Marinette focus"

"Ah sorry Alya, I zoned out! Please don't tell my Nonna"

"Don't worry Marinette I won't tell her anything. My lips are sealed, but you need to focus girl" I let out a soft chuckle under my breath

Alya was my one and only friend and I hadn't even met her not so long ago.

Me and Alya met when she first got her part time job here at the Café. Soon after she started working here I begged my Nonna to let me work here even though she was strictly against the idea. In the end I was able to convince her and well I guess interacting with people is a lot harder than I thought.

I could feel myself getting lost in my thoughts already as Alya walked back to the backroom

"Mmm I wonder where Nonna is right now, she's taking forever to get back" I wiped the smudge off the counter only to look up to a customer

My eyes opened wide, and I took a step back

""I'm so sorry I didn't see you there" I pointed my eyes to the floor and gave a nervous smile

He gave me a smile back along with a chuckle

"Anyway what can I get you?"

"I'll get a hot chocolate"

"Perfect for a cold day isn't it?" I smiled at him. I took a few steps towards the back and asked Alya if she could refill the pastry stack for me.

"So what do you usually do in your free time, I always see you here?"

"Ah" I had to think about it for a second even when there was not much to think about

"Well I don't typically spend my day out of the café, I'm the owners granddaughter so this is my home haha."

I took a quick pause to shake up the drink before continuing my sentence, "And well I'm homeschooled here too so I really really don't get out that often."

"So then does your grandma limit your freedom?"

I took a quick pause, I had never thought of it like this? Is my Nonna limiting my freedom? It could be true since she would rather have me inside the café than outside. But I don't want to jump to conclusions.

"Ah, no. I choose not to leave much. I'm not much of a social butterfly haha" I took a deep quiet breath in before handing the drink over to him.

"Thankyou" He grabbed the drink and walked over to a seat. Honestly I feel a little bad when I watch him sometimes, he's always alone, and well whenever I see someone alone I can't help to think of how when I feel when I'm alone

"Alya!"

"What's wrong Marinette?"

"Can you cover me? I'm going to take my lunch break."

"Sure"

"Alright, thankyou." I hugged Alya before heading upstairs to get changed, we have a designated room to change but since I live here I just change my room.

As quickly as I came upstairs I also came down as quickly hoping to catch him before he leaves, and also hoping I can finally learn his name.

"Hello!" He gave me a strange look but he looked quite surprised

"I hope you don't mind if I sit next to you, it's just that I always see you alone. Soooo I decided to join you today" I tried laughing it up but my nerves were finally getting to me and I felt somewhat embarrassed.

"Sure, go ahead" He turned his head to the other side where I couldn't see his face, I wonder why?
