Hollyleaf's paws ached and her chest heaved as she, Jiji, and her apprentice, Moonwatcher, all pelted through the dense undergrowth of the forest. They were getting closer and closer to ThunderClan territory, Hollyleaf felt nervousness make her pawsteps clumsy and she often found herself tripping over tree roots and branches. But she found her stubborn and disobedient paws gravitating toward her old home back in ThunderClan.
As the three cats approached the gorse tunnel that served as the entrance into ThunderClan's camp, Hollyleaf felt panic growing inside of her and her paws suddenly froze in place with no warning whatsoever. Jiji pawed at her to move but she just could't muster up the strength to enter into ThunderClan territory. She really wanted to see Cinderpelt, Firestar, Brightpaw, and Yellowfang again, but no matter what she tried, Hollyleaf's paws wouldn't budge.
She took a deep breath and step by step, she slowly inched her way through the gorse tunnel, and when she finally came out of the other side her eyes widened in both shock and surprise at how nothing had really changed except for Cinderpelt now being a medicine cat... but aside from that, everything was fine. As she slowly patted into the camp, she could feel the gazes of her old clanmates burning into her pelt, and she could feel her ears start to grow hot. She kept her gaze down as she walked, her tail lowered and ears flat against her skull as she approached the medicine cat den, where her mother and childhood best friend were most likely sorting herbs like she had recently been doing back in her own medicine cat den back in BloodClan, yes, she was now there medicine cat... although, she still trained with her mentor, Ghost, she even had an apprentice of her own, a sleek black she-cat with pretty icy-blue eyes named Moonwatcher, her mother, Frostlight, had decided to gave her that name due to her daughter's tendency to gaze at the moonlight that would stream in through the cracks in the walls.
Speaking of her apprentice, she turned to see the small black she-cat was staring at her with concerned icy-blue eyes. "Mist? Mist? Hay, Mist! Are you ok?" Moonwatcher waved a paw in front of her mentor's face with a worried expression, witch showed in her icy-blue eyes. Hollyleaf shook her head and stared down at her apprentice with a small smile on her face. "I'm sorry, Moon. I did it again didn't I?" She asked while curling her tail over her back paws. The black she-cat nodded her head slowly in response. Hollyleaf was just about to reply when a sudden call of her name made her turn around to find who had called her. "Hollypaw? Is that really you? Well, so you decided to come back to the Clan after all," the older black she-cat just sighed and rolled her eyes at Jayfeather's sassy yet snarky way of greeting cats.
"Well, first of all, Jayfeather. It's actually Hollyleaf now." She told him with a flick of her tail. Jayfeather rolled his sightless eyes and made a 'hm' sound in response. "So... is Cinderpelt around?" She successfully changed the subject on her brother. Jayfeather simply nodded his head, flicking his tail in the direction of the medicine den. Hollyleaf nodded her thanks and motioned with her tail for Moonwatcher and Jiji to follow her inside of the den.
"Hay, Mist? Isn't that the cat you've told me so much about?" Moon pointed with a paw at a smokey-gray she-cat with a severely twisted left hind-leg. Hollyleaf nodded and slowly approached the smokey-gray cat. "Hi, Cinderpaw," she mewed quietly as to not scare her. The small she-cat spun around calmly and her eyes soon widened as big as saucers at the sight of Hollyleaf. "You do realize that I'm now Cinderpelt not Cinderpaw, don't you Hollyleaf?" She mewed in a joking tone. Hollyleaf nodded her head with a pur of amusement.
"Hi, Cinderpelt. It's very nice to meet you! Mist has told me all about you," Moonwatcher mewed with a friendly wave of her tail. Cinderpelt blinked and stared down at the small black she-cat with confusion shining in her eyes. "Oh yeah, Cinderpelt, this is my apprentice, Moonwatcher. I've told her all about you, Fireheart, Yellowfang, and Brightpaw." Hollyleaf mewed happily while motioning with her tail to her apprentice.
"Actually miss smarty-paws, Fireheart is now Firestar and Bright paw is now Brightheart." Cinderpelt purred in amusement at her friends funny habit of getting cats names wrong just to bee a goofball. "You're such a goofball, you know that?" She joked while playfully nipping one of Hollyleaf's ears, witch earned her a cuff over the ears in return.
