"Where is Rosie?", she asked again.
"They had to take her. They wanted to make sure she was eating without a problem.", he replied.
"And you just let them take her?", she asked, tears welling up.
He approached her. His mom had let him know she would be sensitive still.
"Baby, she will be safe. I trust this hospital with my life and yours.", he said.
"Its not the hospital I'm worried about, or did you forget about my mother? You do remember what happened to Brie? Don't you?", she said.
He nodded.
"That's why I had the next room placed as her very own baby ward. She is right next door, so they should bring her back any minute now", he said, smiling.
"You did?", she asked, wiping her tear.
He nodded.
"I would do anything for her and you. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I didn't think you would react like that when they took her.", he sighed.
"Its not that I don't trust you, because I do. Even if she's just next door, I'm worried. I guess that's a good thing, right?", she said.
Roman smiled and nodded.
"It's a very good thing, my love. Trust me, it worries me too, even when you were pregnant.", he replied.
Their door opened and a nurse walked in. She smiled.
"Mommy is awake sweet girl.", the nurse said softly.
Roman smiled.
"Here she is. She is very much healthy. Very curious. She stayed awake the entire time.", the nurse said.
Ronnie smiled. The nurse lifted Rosie and handed her to Veronica.
"So cute", the nurse gushed.
She walked out, leaving Roman and Ronnie alone.
"Hi baby", Ronnie whispered, kissing her cheek softly.
Roman watched his wife and daughter. Pulling out his phone, he snapped a quick photo. Saving it as his wallpaper on his phone.
"I can have a few more of these. We make cute babies", she said.
Roman's smile grew.
"Me too, but lets get you healed up and wait till Rosie grows a bit. A year?", he said.
She nodded. He went to sit beside her and they just watched Rosie.
"I never thought I would get this. So I never really imagined it. I wanted kids, but, the feeling of actually having her here. Its different, it's the best feeling in the world. Thank you", she said, looking at him.
He smiled.
"I should be thanking you. You did all the work baby. I just helped for a few minutes", he shrugged.
"Almost every night. I almost broke you a couple of times", she added, making them both laugh.
"But that turned into this, and you are right. She's the best feeling ever. So thank you, my love. Not only for her, but for loving me. You were a surprise to me, and the best kind.", he said, leaning over and kissing her gently.
"Aw, isn't this a cute family photo.", they both turned to see Raya with a few of her men.
Roman stood and blocked her view of Veronica and Rosie. Raya chuckled.
"You really think I'm scared of you?", she asked.
Roman could feel Ronnie holding the back of his shirt. Rosie made a small noise and his eyes quickly went to her.
"Such a disappointment as a man. Don't worry sweetheart, it wasn't you. It was him, I should have realized that after the twins.", Raya said.
Ronnie glared at her.
"There is nothing wrong with my daughter", Ronnie replied.
"She's not a male, that's her problem. She won't make it in this world, in our world as a female.", Raya replied.
"You've never met her mother or her aunts. She'll grow up just fine", Roman replied.
Ronnie smiled up at him before looking back at Raya.
"Yes and they've all been disappointments. Well, I guess I don't have to count Bayley anymore. I'm sure my whore of a sister filled you in. How is that bitch?", she said.
"Better than you", Ronnie replied.
"We'll see, very soon. I'll let you have your little, moment.", she said.
She started for the door, before she stopped and faced her.
"I wasn't wrong when I said you were so much like me. You even look like me. Can't wait to see you abandon your family too. Enjoy them while you can, Veronica", Raya said before leaving.
Veronica looked at Rosie.
"You are nothing like her. Don't listen to her.", Roman said.
Ronnie smiled at him and gently touched his cheek.
"I'm not", she replied, kissing him.
He sighed and rested his forehead against hers.
"I'm going to make a call", he said softly.
She nodded.
"We'll be here", she replied.
He walked out, but before he could make the call, shots rang out outside. Dean running towards their room.
"What's going on?", Roman asked.
Victoria had Raya set everything up so she could take Cody to her dad. She had lied to her of course and told her she found a good family.
Rhodes walked towards her and she handed him his son.
"I guess I sort of knew, but…", he stopped.
"Don't look for her. Don't let him look for her. She's not worth it.", Victoria said.
Rhodes nodded.
"Thanks", he replied.
"His name is Cody", she added.
He chuckled.
"I like it", he nodded.
She kissed her nephew's cheek once more before leaving. This was also her chance to escape, and she did.
For now.
"We got some of Raya's men, but she got away. The nurse saw them and called me and Seth", Dean panted.
Roman nodded.
"Did you guys see her?", he asked.
"Yeah, came to give us her blessing", Roman replied.
Dean shook his head.
"Roman, what's going on?", they heard Ronnie ask.
They walked back in and Dean smiled at his niece.
"Everything okay? I thought I heard gunfire", she said.
"Taken care of. Don't you and my little niece worry", Dean replied.
She nodded. Dean looked at Roman.
"Enjoy your family. We can handle Raya. Also, one of the men will be staying behind to keep watch.", Dean whispered.
Roman nodded.
"I'll see you and Rosie tomorrow", Dean said to Ronnie.
She nodded and watched him leave. Her eyes went to her husband.
"Worried?", Ronnie asked.
Roman shook his head no.
"I trust my brothers. We'll be fine", Roman replied.
Ronnie nodded before putting her attention back on her daughter. Roman did the same.
