Veronica was changing Rosie after her feeding. Her daughter was the cutest, which she was sure every parent said about their babies.
Roman watched them from the doorway. The smile on his wife's face was something he would never get tired of seeing.
Ronnie looked over at him.
"I can't stop staring at her. She's so beautiful. We made her, can you believe it. I still can't sometimes.", she said.
He smiled bigger.
"I can't sometimes. She gets her beauty from you. I hope she gets everything from you.", he replied.
Ronnie's heart raced at his sweet words. She lifted her baby into her arms and walked over to him.
"What did my sister want?", she asked.
He raised a brow.
"I had a baby monitor too. I just couldn't hear what was being said. You two were too far from the receiver.", Ronnie said, gently rubbing Rosie's back.
He sighed.
"Catching me up on finding Raya. Nothing new.", he replied.
"You promised you wouldn't lie to me", she said softly.
He met her eyes.
"And also that she's trying to frame me for Cody's death. She might even add on Kenny. His body went missing", Roman said.
"How do you know that?", she asked.
"I had Dean and Seth pass by the spot. Its been dug up", he replied.
She swallowed. The last thing she wanted was to lose her husband. She would take the blame for both deaths if it meant keeping Roman out of prison.
She was sure she could survive it, but him, he wasn't as strong. He didn't know how to shut off his emotions and do what needed to be done if push came to shove.
He was a good man, she wouldn't let him lose that, ever.
"So they'll be coming for you", she said.
He nodded.
"When?", she asked.
"Not sure. Your dad and Mel are trying to buy me as much time as they can", he replied.
She nodded. He looked at his daughter.
"Can I hold my baby girl?", he asked.
She smiled and nodded, handing off their daughter. He kissed his little girl's cheek.
"Lets give mommy a break, princess. Daddy daughter time right now", he said gently.
She giggled. She got so lucky in the husband department. He is such a great father.
"I can't wait till we can have husband and wife time", she said.
He smirked and winked at her.
"I can't wait for that too.", he replied.
She kissed his cheek.
"I'm going to shower real quick", she said.
He nodded. He followed his wife to their bedroom and sat on their bed with Rosie in his arms still.
He would hold her as long as she allowed him too. Her little eyes would open and shut.
"My girl", he said softly, a big smile on his face.
She yawned.
"Trying to melt daddy's heart, my tiny love", he said softly.
"So what's happening with Roman?", Victoria asked.
Ben sighed and rubbed his eyes.
"We made sure the evidence got lost for a bit. Making sure their focus is somewhere else right now", he replied.
"Does Ronnie know yet?", she asked.
"I'm sure he told her. He can't keep secrets from her. Hell, none of us can keep secrets from her. Its like she can read your damn mind", Melina said, after walking in.
Victoria chuckled.
"You know she's going to try to take the blame", Melina said.
Ben nodded.
"Its who she is. My baby girl", he said.
Melina smiled.
Victoria had gone back to school. Since that moment in Bayley's nursery, Ben couldn't seem to keep his hands to himself.
Sneaking into her room when Raya was away or sleeping. Victoria didn't care, she was in love with this man.
Running her hands down his abs and biting his shoulder when he blew her damn mind in bed.
So many times she wanted to tell him Bayley was their baby girl.
She also knew he was sleeping with Raya. He had apologized and reminded her of her age. He had to keep Raya satisfied and content for now.
She understood. She was also going back to school tomorrow. She hated having to leave her daughter and nieces. Ben as well.
She knocked on his office door. She needed to tell him about Bayley.
"Come in", he called.
She opened the door and walked in. He smiled and set down the file he had in his hand.
"Hey", he said.
"Can we talk?", she asked.
"Of course baby. What's up?", he asked.
He had recently started calling her that. She wasn't complaining, she loved it.
"So, I don't know how you're going to take this, but its eating away at me. You need to know the truth. So…", before she could finish her sentence, Raya slammed the door open and walked in.
She faked a smile and stood beside her sister. Her hand, gripped the back of Victoria's shirt.
"Are we going to have lunch, my love?", she asked Ben.
Ben glanced at Victoria before looking back at Raya. He smiled and nodded.
"Yes, of course", he nodded.
He walked out of his office. Raya looked at her sister.
"I told you what would happen if you tried to tell him. I warned you", she said, before walking past her.
Victoria didn't know what that meant. Not till an hour after they left for lunch. Two bodyguards came and dragged her away.
Instead of going back to her school, they took her to a psychiatric hospital.
"Why are we here? I don't understand", she said, frightened.
"Raya warned you, and you didn't listen", one of the men said.
He smirked before laughing at her.
"She wouldn't leave me here", she said softly.
They both laughed.
"She said once she feels like you learned your lesson, she'll come and get you. Till then, deal", one of the men said.
Victoria shook her head before her tears fell.
Roman was afraid of what his father in law wanted to tell him. He hoped it was something he could tell his wife.
Keeping secrets was not on the table. Ben smiled at his new granddaughter.
"Veronica is making lunch", Roman said.
Ben asked for Rosie and Roman gladly handed her over.
"Hi my sweet girl", Ben said, kissing her little cheek.
"So what's this visit for? I know its not just to see Rosie", Roman said as they sat.
Veronica walked in with two plates.
"Hi dad, want something to eat?", she asked, handing Roman his plate.
"Please my baby", Ben said.
Veronica handed him hers before walking into her kitchen and making her plate for herself.
Her dad waited to say what he needed to. He sighed.
"So, I know you both know about the accusations against Roman. I need you, Ronnie, to stay out of it", Ben said.
Roman chuckled.
"This has nothing to do with her", Roman said.
Ben raised a brow before his eyes went to Ronnie. Roman followed.
"Baby?", Roman said.
She looked at him.
"No. Absolutely not. You will not take the blame", Roman said, catching on.
"Rosie needs you", Ronnie said.
"No, she needs you. Hun, I can carry this", Roman said.
"You weren't built for prison, Ro. I was.", she replied.
"But you have to take into account that you are my daughter. The guards will know and won't protect you. I can't protect you. You will be the biggest target and I will not lose you", Ben said.
"I can take care of myself", Ronnie replied.
"We know you can, but let me carry this. I can't lose you, baby, and neither can Rosie", Roman said.
"And you think I can lose? Do you even know me? Do you know the person I would become if I lost you?", she asked.
Her dad smiled. Roman kept his daughter grounded. He knew if she lost him, she would lose herself. She didn't handle loss well and he blamed himself for that.
He expected too much of his girls and made sure they didn't need to rely on anyone to protect them because they could do it themselves.
He spent more time hardening them and not showing them more emotion.
"Baby…", she stood and set her plate down before rushing upstairs.
Roman sighed.
"Go on, I've got Rosie", Ben said.
Roman nodded before following after his wife. When he reached their room, he closed the door behind him. Ronnie was pacing.
"My love", Roman said, stopping her.
"I can't lose you. Trust me, I will be someone you would hate, someone Rosie would hate. I would go on a damn rampage for you.", she said.
Roman approached her.
"And you don't think I would do the same for you and Rosie? I would. Baby, you and our beautiful little girl mean the world to me, you are my everything. From the moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew you were mine.", he said.
He gently touched her chin.
"You think I would leave you alone to be touched by another man. Hell no", he said.
She smiled.
"I will come back to you. I am yours and you are mine. I will fight and do what I need to in order to come back to you", he said.
She nodded.
"Please let me carry this", he said.
"Okay", she replied.
He leaned down and kissed her gently.
"But for now, we focus on raising our daughter and finding Raya. Okay", he said.
She nodded.
