Roman kept trying his wife, but got no answer. After making sure his daughter was fed and put down to sleep, he went to his office and called Melina.
"Roman, is everything okay?", she asked.
Her asking that just means Veronica didn't pay her a visit. She doesn't know her sister is missing.
"Where is my wife?", he asked.
"She should be with you. We left the cemetery at the same time. She said she was going straight home to hold Rosie", Melina said.
Roman sighed.
"Roman, what's going on?", she asked.
"I came home from picking up Rosie and she wasn't here. My car is out front, but she's gone", he said.
"Have you checked if anything is missing? Her gun? Clothes? Passport?", she asked.
Why didn't he think of that? Maybe because he was hoping his wife had just taken a walk or was hiding in the house somewhere he hadn't checked.
Walking into their closet, some of her clothes was gone. Along with a bag she usually used when they went after someone.
He checked the safe for their guns. Gone. Along with her passports with different identities.
"Roman?", he almost forgot his sister in law was on the phone with him.
"She's gone, along with her stuff", he said.
He heard her sigh.
"We need a meeting. We'll meet at yours if that's okay", she said.
"That's fine", he replied.
"See you tomorrow, and Roman, don't worry. We know her, she can take care of herself", Melina said.
"I know. See you tomorrow", he said.
He sat back on his bed. She couldn't have packed that fast. How did he not notice it?
His sisters in law kept going back and forth about his wife since they got here this morning. The kids were in the playroom.
"How could she just leave her baby? Her husband, without a word", Nikki said.
"She went after Raya, which I don't blame her", Brie said.
"Are you not listening? She left her baby", Nikki repeated.
"We heard you, Nicole", Bayley said.
"Okay look, we all know Veronica operates differently. Am I disappointed she left without a word? Yes. We all are. Am I disappointment she left her daughter like this? Yes, I am too. This is just something she has to do", Melina said.
Nikki shook her head.
"Roman, help me out here.", Nikki said.
Roman sighed.
"If I were you, I would be pissed. Whatever step you want to take next, we will support you.", Nikki added.
"My next step", he said.
They waited for him to finish.
"Would be to wait for her to call or come home", he said.
"Roman, you…", he cut his sister in law off.
"I love my wife. I will wait for her to come home or call me when she is ready. She just lost the only parent she ever knew. Its like Mel said, she's different. She loves Rosie and she loves me.", Roman said.
"She'll come home when she's ready", Melina said.
Roman nodded.
"She knew Rosie had Roman, and that he would never let anything happen to her.", Brie added.
"I just don't understand how you aren't pissed", Nikki said.
"I am, and she will hear that from me.", he said.
Nikki nodded.
"If you need anything at all, even for us to watch Rosie, let us know", Bayley said.
He nodded.
"Thank you, I know", he said.
She didn't want to leave her daughter or her husband, but she had to do this. She had to be the one to kill Raya.
She was waiting for her flight to the Dominican Republic. She knew Raya had a house there.
She went through the photos on her phone of her little girl. She smiled, her happy little bug. Her little girl, who was her daddy's twin.
She flipped to one of Rosie and Roman. Her husband had made their little girl smile, her first big smile.
Roman had finally stopped calling and texting. She'll end things quick so she could make it back to them.
He was mad, she knew, but she also knew he understood.
It had been a week and his wife was still not back. He tried looking for her, he had Dean and Seth looking for her. She was good, too good.
He dropped off Rosie with his mom.
"Hi my baby", his mom said sweetly to his daughter.
He smiled.
"How are you?", she asked, turning her attention to him.
"Trying to get by. She'll be home soon, I know it.", he replied.
"You are perfect for her. Most men would have cursed her and walked.", his mom said.
Roman chuckled.
"She's everything", he replied.
His mom smiled.
"I knew she was different, way different. Its what added to me falling in love with her. Don't get me wrong, I am pissed at her for leaving without me, but at the same time I get it. Rosie, she wants me to protect her.", Roman added.
"Who is safer than her father", his mom said.
He nodded.
"I'll see you later mom, if you need anything for her, call me", Roman said.
"We've got her", his mom replied.
Seth was at his computer, clicking away. His brother hadn't given up on searching for his sister in law.
"Collected the debts, did the bails.", Dean said, as he walked in.
"Thanks", Roman replied.
"Have you slept?", Dean asked.
Roman rubbed his eyes.
"Rosie was having a tough time falling asleep.", he replied.
"You know you could call Brie. She would be more than happy to help. I would too", Dean said.
"I know", Roman nodded.
Dean reached out and squeezed his brother's shoulder.
"Seth, you can stop looking. She'll come home when she is ready", Roman said.
"I'm not just doing it for you, I'm doing it for my wife too. She misses her sister", Seth replied.
Roman nodded.
"Bay stopped trying to call her. Sends her texts, updates on the families", Seth added.
"I text her at the end of the week to let her know what Rosie and I did. I send her photos of her.", Roman smiled.
"I'm sure she sees them. It would be hard not to open or read those messages", Dean said.
"I want to tell her to come home, but I know she needs to do this", Roman said.
Both his brothers nodded.
"And I'm sure Raya is running with her tail between her legs", Dean chuckled.
"My wife is pissed", Roman nodded in agreement.
Roman sat up.
"Seth, don't look for Ronnie, look for Raya. When you find her, update Ronnie", Roman said.
Seth nodded.
"Why didn't I think of that", Seth mumbled.
Roman chuckled.
Veronica was in Spain now. Every now and then she would get a text from her husband or a photo. Her sister did the same, updating her on Melina's pregnancy.
She knew it was risky to come after Raya alone, but her sisters would just get in the way and her husband, though she loved him, wouldn't let her do it her way.
She blew up buildings, tortured and killed known associates to Raya. Sending her little messages.
She knew she was scared because Raya wouldn't last more than two days in a new place.
She was getting closer, thanks to Seth.
Raya knew she would come after her, but she didn't think it was going to be this hard to run from her.
"Push it through", she said.
Her guy looked at her.
"She'll leave us be if she knew Roman needed her.", Raya said.
The guy nodded. She smirked.
She was in her hotel when she had gotten a text from Bayley. She needed to come home. There was going to be a warrant out for Roman's arrest.
Their associate on the inside was trying to push it back, but couldn't anymore.
"Bitch", she mumbled.
She knew it was Raya.
Roman had just laid Rosie to sleep. As much as his family was trying, they would be coming for him soon.
It had been 3 months since his wife had left. Bayley had said she told her what was going on, but got no reply back.
Hearing a noise from the baby monitor, he stood. Rosie was probably not comfortable in her crib anymore. He had been laying her down with him.
"I'm coming baby girl", he said softly.
When he got to her door, he froze. Hearing someone singing to his daughter. It couldn't be. Could it?
He pushed the door open and his wife turned. She was holding Rosie.
"Hi", was all she said.
