"Hi my girl", her dad said.
If this was Raya, it was a cruel joke. She was about to hang up.
"I know what you must be thinking. You're probably thinking this is Raya, but I can assure you, its not. Its me kiddo, promise.", he said.
He sounded like him.
"How?", she asked, finally finding her voice.
"You better than anyone knows I have a double. He went in instead of me. He died", he said.
"I want to believe you", she whispered.
"I know its hard", he replied.
"They took Roman", she said.
He sighed.
"I know baby, but you will get him back. I promise. You think I would leave my son in prison?", he said.
She smiled.
"One of the swat guys pointed his gun at Rosie", she added.
She heard him curse.
"Get me the name, I will handle it for my bug", he said.
The line was silent for a minute.
"Why?", she asked.
"Because I knew you would go after her. You were always different from your sisters. You almost had her too. She had to play dirty", he said.
"Does anyone else know you're alive?", she asked.
"Tori, Sika, and Afa. It was a plan", he replied.
"Can I tell my sisters?", she asked.
"I will. We need to come up with a plan to get Roman out and kill Raya.", he replied.
"When do we meet?", she asked.
"I will set it up with Mel", he replied.
"Okay", she said.
"I love you, Veronica.", he said.
"Love you too, Dad", she replied softly.
"Get up, Veronica", her dad said.
She was thirteen and learning to fight. Baron and Andrade were giving her and Bayley hell. Except Bayley was use to it, so she didn't complain anymore.
Veronica never complained. Even when they were beating her down. She would jump right up and continue.
"Remember to always watch your left", her dad said.
She nodded and got back into her fighting stance.
"She's gonna be even better than her sisters", Andrade said.
Garcia nodded.
"Good", he replied.
"How is he alive? I don't get it", Nikki said as she paced.
"Dad is good. Its why he is who he is", Melina replied.
"How sure are we that its actually him?", Brie asked.
No one said anything.
"I think its him", Ronnie finally spoke up.
"What exactly did he say when he spoke to you?", Bayley asked.
"What I already told you, and that Sika and Afa were in on it too. I called them as soon as I hung up with dad and Sika confirmed it", Ronnie replied.
Her sisters nodded. Before any of them could say anything, the front door opened. Sika and Afa walked in with their dad.
He smiled at them.
"My girls", he said.
Each of them hugged him for a few good long minutes. He took Rosie from Ronnie's arms.
"My bug", he whispered softly, before kissing her cheek.
"So, are you going to tell us why you did it?", Nikki asked.
He looked at Veronica.
"Because I know Ronnie would go on a rampage to get Raya, and I was right. She was so close, but then, Roman", he said.
"What are we going to do about that? I don't want my brother in there for long.", Melina asked.
"I've got an idea, its risky, but if it will get him out and free, worth it", Garcia said.
"What is it?", Ronnie asked.
He looked at her.
"Change his identity", Sika replied.
"How? They already booked him under Roman Reigns", Brie said.
"Kayla and Samantha will handle that end", he replied.
"And what do we do?", Ronnie asked.
"You will take care of the cops who hurt our family and pointed a gun at this sweet baby", he replied.
Ronnie nodded.
Roman was put into his own cell. Kayla let him know she was helping as much as she could.
He'd been in here a month now. He was informed by Mrs. Irvin that he should start referring to himself as Joe Anoa'i.
"Joe, you've got a visitor.", one of the guards said, unlocking his cell.
He had told this wife not to come down here or bring Rosie. He didn't want either of them in this dirty hell hole.
"Who is it?", he asked.
"Says she's your mother in law", he replied.
He froze. She wouldn't. Would she? He wouldn't put it past her. When he got to the room, there she sat with a smug look on her face.
"Hello son", Raya said.
"Fuck you", he replied.
He looked at the guard.
"Take me back to my cell, this trash isn't worth it", he said.
The guard nodded.
"Tell her, nice try", was all he heard before the door closed.
"Don't like your mother in law", the guard chuckled.
"Nope.", he replied.
Roman was asleep on his cot when he heard a loud bang. He sat up and listened again for it.
When it sounded again, his walls shook. The alarm went off and guards ran to the noise.
Then he heard gunfire. He backed away from the door. The gunfire getting closer.
Someone dressed in all black appeared, more behind this one. The door unlocked and it opened. He got ready to fight in case Raya sent them to kill him.
One walked in and removed their mask. His heart beat faster.
"Ronnie", he said.
She smiled at him.
"Hi baby, we came to get you", she said.
"No, Ronnie, no. We can't do this. Rosie can't be on the run with us. That's no life for a kid", he said.
She held her hand out.
"Trust me?", she asked.
"You know I do baby, but…", she cut him off with a kiss.
"Then trust me, trust that I know what I'm doing", she whispered.
He met her eyes and nodded. She handed him clothes to change into. He did. As he walked out, they dragged a body inside.
Another poured what smelled like gas.
"Babe…", she turned to him.
"I'll explain everything in the car", she said.
He nodded. He knew they must have gotten in with Kayla and Samantha's help.
This was almost too good to be true. Once in the car, he felt like he was dreaming. Andrade removed his mask and drove fast.
Ronnie removed hers and looked at him.
"Its gonna be okay", she said.
He leaned over and kissed her.
"What have you got cooking in that beautiful brain of yours?", he asked.
"My dad's alive", she replied.
"What? How?", he asked.
"He'll tell you as soon as we get home", she replied.
She squeezed his hand.
"And Rosie?", he asked.
"Missing you. I left her with your mom and sister", she said.
He nodded. He couldn't wait to hold his daughter.
"So about my name?", he asked.
"You're Roman Reigns again. Kayla changed all your info to Joe Anoa'i. A few changes to your photos in your file and you are a free man", she said.
He felt relaxed. His daughter and wife wouldn't be on the run. Rosie could have a somewhat normal life.
Getting to his parents house, they climbed out of the car. He sighed before getting off.
His parents front door opened and his mom stood there with his daughter. He smiled.
"She just fell back to sleep.", his mom said.
His wife kissed their daughter's head before continuing inside. He took his daughter from his mom.
She touched his cheek gently.
"Welcome home. They both missed you so much", his mom said.
"I missed them too, and you mom", he replied.
"Go on, get some sleep. Tomorrow is a big day", she said.
He nodded and made his way inside. His mom walked them to where he and his little family were staying. His old room still looked the same.
His wife laid out some clothes for him.
"Goodnight", his mom said, before closing the door.
He went and laid his daughter down in her crib.
"Baby", he said.
Ronnie stopped.
"Can we talk?", he asked.
She faced him.
"Not now. I just want to enjoy you", she said.
She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him. Connecting their lips, he lifted his wife.
"Wait, bathroom", she whispered.
He walked them in and found the bath tub full of water and bubbles. He smiled.
