A/N Some people said after the last chapter that Sirius didn't actually put the wards back up, and that was a mistake. Don't panic, Sirius is fine for the minute. I've edited the chapter to show that clearly now.

July 3rd 1994, Greengrass Manor, Nottingham

Harry felt Remus' arm twist away from him and gripped onto it like a vice, the next thing he knew was everything going black, Sirius disappearing from his view. He felt as if he was being compressed from all sides, his eyeballs being forced back into his head and his eardrums being pushed deeper into his skull.

And then suddenly it stopped, his stomach was churning from the sudden motions and his eyes were burning from the emergence of light, it took him a few moments to adjust himself but eventually he stood up straight and turned to Remus complaining, "That felt absolutely horrible."

Remus however was not as sympathetic as he hoped, instead laughing at his reaction to the experience, "I warned you." He said, "It doesn't get any easier either, you just grow used to it."

Harry was not happy to hear that, "I think I'd rather ride my broom everywhere then that."

Remus was smiling, "James and Sirius always thought the same, but you have to admit that it is convenient."

Rather than conceding the point, Harry took a second to look around them, they were stood on a cobblestone path and surrounded by luscious green hills, ahead of them stood a large house, which floors stretched above the tall trees which formed a small forest. Harry thought that it looked like a picture-perfect countryside home.

Harry said, "What's the plan for convincing him we're telling the truth then."

Remus replied, "There isn't one. He'll know if I'm lying, he always has done. Since we're telling the truth we'll be fine."

Harry joked, "Good, I've always been better without a plan anyway."

Remus laughed, "Sometimes it is good to have a plan, but we'll be fine this time."

They started to walk up the cobbled path together, as they pulled through the forest a window at the front of the house came into the view, through it Harry could see a man was tall but rather thin with blond hair sticking out in all directions. He was pacing backwards and forwards in the room, with his hands resting on his chin and brow furrowed, clearly deep in thought.

As they got closer to the door the man's head snapped up and looked towards the path, as soon as he saw the two wizards his face lit up, the tension appeared to leave his body as he walked out of the room.

A few moments later the man, who now had a large smile on his face, had opened the door. Calling down at them, "Remus! Thank goodness you are safe, and Lord Potter as well. Come, come, we have much to discuss." Harry hated hearing someone refer to him as a lord, but they then hurried up the path and stepped into the house.

Harry quickly discovered that Greengrass Manor was incredibly different to 12 Grimauld Place, Sirius' old home was incredibly dark and gloomy, whilst Greengrass manor had light wooden floorboards with green walls, accented by gold. The white ceiling had patterns and swirls slightly carved into it,

Remus said, "Hello Cyrus, judging from your happiness to see us I assume you heard a rumour that Harry had been kidnapped."

Cyrus said incredibly quickly, "It was hard not to hear, it's been plastered all over the daily prophet this morning, the story has gotten the whole country into a right panic. I have messages flying in from members of my alliance all morning, an emergency Wizengamot session is being held tomorrow to discuss the supposed kidnapping." He let out a small breath at the end of his sentence.

Remus checked, "An emergency session? ", Cyrus nodded his head, "That will work in our favour, do you have somewhere we can sit, we have quite a lot of things to tell you."

Cyrus said, "Why of course, come through to the living room we can take a seat there, you better have answers for what's happened." The man then led them to a rather large living room, with a burning fireplace held in the centre of the wall. In once corner of the room there were two girls, playing a game of wizarding chess. Harry recognised the light blonde-haired girl as Daphne Greengrass, the other girl had pitch black hair and looked to be a few years younger than her sister.

Cyrus spoke two the two girls and said, "Girls, why don't you come and join us, I'm sure you'll be able to put a different perspective on things."

The two looked slightly shocked to see them, however Daphne quickly reigned in her facial expression to look passive and said, "Lord Potter, it's nice to speak to you, especially considering you seem to not be kidnapped. I think Hogwarts would be a lot more boring without the drama you seem to bring."

Harry shrugged his shoulders he already liked the Greengrass family a lot. Although he wasn't too sure about Cyrus' two daughters hearing about Sirius, however Daphne might be able to back up small parts of his story. He said, "At this point I don't think it would be a normal year at Hogwarts without me getting into some kind of trouble."

Daphne smiled back at him, "I think Madam Pomfrey may end up reserving a hospital bed for you at the end of the year."

Harry laughed and turned to all the Greengrass's, "It's a good point, the events at the end of my last year are what we need to talk about today." Harry felt a lot more confident to tell his story with how welcoming the family was to them.

Cyrus looked thoughtful for a second before saying, "Then let's not waste each other's time. Come and sit down already."

They all took seats around a wooden coffee table at the other end of the room, the Greengrass's sitting on a sofa together on one end and Harry Remus sat together on the other. Cyrus then said, "My apologies I should introduce everyone", Indicating to his two daughters he said, "These are my daughters, Astoria and Daphne, I believe that you will have met Daphne before Lord Potter, as she is in your year."

Harry however stopped Cyrus, "Umm, please can you not call me Lord Potter, it feels far too weird, I'm just Harry."

Remus chuckled and said, "His father was exactly the same."

"Harry it is, of course you don't need an introduction. I think every wizard alive knows your name" Harry blushed a little, but Cyrus continued, "Unfortunately my wife Ellie is busy working at St Mungo's, but I'm sure you can meet her another time", then Cyrus waved his hand to Remus and said, "Girls, this is Remus Lupin, A good friend of mine who has helped me lots with the laws I've been pushing through the Wizengamot. Although of course you'll already know him, Daphne."

Daphne turned to Remus and said, "Is there a chance you can return next year? You're by far the best teacher we've had. "

Harry smiled, "It's pointless, I've already tried persuading him to return multiple times."

Remus laughed, "It's true, he's been all to desperate to keep me in the castle", He then became rather serious, "but I'm afraid to many parents will be uncomfortable with a werewolf teaching their children."

Cyrus dragged them back on topic, "It is a shame, clearly you were a great teacher. However, I think we should get to the point, you said you wanted to discuss the events at the end of year last year Harry? Forgive me, but what relevance do those events have."

Harry paused for and shifted uncomfortably for a moment, he looks up to Remus and saw him gesturing for him to explain, "Well you see, it might explain what was printed in the prophet."

Cyrus nodded his head, "So it pertains to Sirius Black, I heard rumours that Fudge nearly caught him at Hogwarts, only for him to escape."

Remus said, "Do you mind if we use your pensive Cyrus? It will be easier then having Harry explain it all to you."

Cyrus smiled, "Ah of course, Hoopy!", A house elf popped into the room, "Could you please bring the pensive from my office into here." Seconds later a Shallow metal basin appeared on the table in front of them, it had symbols inscribed all around the edge. A silvery light shone from its contents, which were cloudlike and moving ceaselessly.

Remus turned to Harry and said, "Harry, I need you to think about the night, hold the memories in your mind and brace yourself, this will sting a little bit." Harry closed his eyes and thought back to helping Sirius escape, freeing Buckbeak, the rat running away. He felt Remus placing his wand on his temple and tensed up. It felt like someone was casting a bunch of stinging hexes on the inside of his head. But within a few moments that pain passed and Harry opened his eyes.

Remus has a silver string floating from the end of his wand, and he slowly directed it into the pensive. Harry looked in awe at the wispy substance and asked, "So that's my memory?"

Cyrus nodded his head, "In a way, it's more a duplicate of what is in your mind, the string is literally the flow of your memories, the longer the memory, the longer it would be."

Harry didn't remove his eyes as the substance was submerged by the rest of the contents of the pensive, he asked, "So how do we view the memory now?"

Cyrus smiled and said, "Like this." Taking in a breath and holding his nose, he put his head straight into the pensive. His body looked as if it was turning into the silver liquid as he was sucked into the pensive. Astoria quickly followed him.

Daphne looked up at Harry and said, "Take your time Harry." And followed her two family members.

Harry cast a nervous look up at Remus, "This bit doesn't hurt, does it?"

Remus shook his head, "No, in fact it's quiet a nice feeling. Go ahead, just put your head in."

Harry's leg was bouncing up and down, he took a few deep breath's trying to calm himself, after a couple of seconds he held his breath and plunged his head into the liquid. It was a surprisingly warm feeling, it felt like he was under his duvet on a mild night. He felt his body get sucked up, and then he was in his own memories.

They were looking at Ron running after Scabbers into the whomping willow, as he and Hermione chased him. Soon Remus was stood next to Harry, and when he realised, they could see each other he looked to his left and saw the Greengrass's all stood next to each other.

As Harry already knew how everything was going to go, he focussed on how Cyrus was reacting to the memory, however his face remained impassive during the memory, the only time he reacted in anyway was when Daphne would occasionally whisper something into his ear, and he would only nod his head.

The memory Harry and Hermione arrived back at the doors of the hospital wing with Dumbledore smiling down on them with a twinkle in his eyes. At that point the memory ended, and everyone was sucked back out into the Greengrass' home.

They were all standing around the Pensive, everyone refusing to stay anything. Harry could still not read anything from there expressions, but he was desperately hoping that they would believe the memory.

They sat in a few moments, Harry watched as Cyrus stared at the pensive, however his eyes were not focused on it, and he looked deep into his own thoughts. His two daughters were also sat looking at him, Daphne was shifting in her seat. Eventually Cyrus said, "I'm inclined to believe these memories." A smile shot onto Harry and Remus' faces; Harry was internally celebrating. Cyrus continued, "Daphne tells me that there was indeed a failed execution that day, and that she had noticed Mrs Granger was reappearing and disappearing at seemingly impossible speeds across the castle, however the repercussions of this are worrying."

Remus nodded his head, "I could hardly believe what I had heard, it means that the ministry has been chasing an innocent man for over a year."

Cyrus shook his head gravely, "He could have been killed at any moment, a completely innocent life lost." He looked up at Harry, "So the story of you being kidnapped by Black is partially true isn't it." Harry just nodded his head, letting Cyrus follow his train of thought. "So, you want me to help you get into the Wizengamot and get your godfather a trial."

Harry shrugged his shoulders, "Yeah, that was kind of the plan, Remus said out of everybody on the Wizengamot, you were probably our best hope as you would actually consider what we had to say, rather than accuse us of lying."

Cyrus smiled, his head shaking in disbelief, "It'll be a huge challenge. To even suggest Sirius Black being innocent would cause outrage." He glanced up to Remus, "You were probably right to come to me, I think everyone else would have thrown you out and called you delusional."

Harry laughed, "That's pretty much what Minister Fudge did to me."

Cyrus smiled, "So you'll be expecting what abouts to come. Good. We'll have a slight advantage due to my alliance; I'll brief them on the situation tonight, before the session."

Remus said, "I think it will be far easier than you think, with the fact that Sirius never got a trial. He has a right to one."

Cyrus shrugged his shoulders, "That would be assuming that the Wizengamot would see sense, the ex-death eater portion of the Wizengamot is going to throw absolutely everything at this to stop him getting a trial."

Remus nodded his head, "You'll need to be careful Harry, Lucius Malfoy has built up a huge block of power in the Wizengamot, with his bribery anything he wants done will be done. But with your Potter seat, it might just tip things in your favour."

Harry nodded his head and asked Cyrus, "Is there any chance I can go to your alliance meeting? I think I'd rather explain everything, or atleast be there."

Cyrus looked rather excited at the prospect, "Of course you can, Daphne has come to many as my Heir, in fact perhaps you can bring Sirius with you, of course after we explain the situation to everyone."

Harry nodded his head, although privately doubted that Sirius would want to come, he'd been hiding for the last few years and would not want to be thrust into that kind of meeting.

Remus reached into his pocket and pulled out the communicating mirror, "Would you like to talk to him Cyrus?"

Cyrus raised his eyebrows, "You can communicate with him through that mirror?"

Remus grinned, and rather than answering the question just looked at the mirror and called out, "Sirius Black. "

After a few seconds a rather panicked Sirius spoke back, "Remus, is everything alright? Did something go wrong? Is Harry, ok?"

Remus was quick to reassure him, "Everything is alright Sirius, Cyrus has agreed to help us. I thought you might want to say a few words to him."

Sirius was a little surprised, "He actually agreed? In which case I'd love to talk to him."

Remus then passed the mirror across to Cyrus who tilted his head and said, "Lord Black, I must say the evidence given to me has taken me quite by surprise."

Sirius said, sounding much more calm now, "Lord Greengrass, I think most of Britain will be shocked to hear it as well, but I can only thank you for agreeing to help, is there anything I can do to return the favour?"

Cyrus thought for a moment, "I think there is, I plan on holding a meeting of my alliance later today to tell them of what I have learnt. Once everything is explained, I would like you to join the meeting."

Harry called over to the mirror, "I've already agreed to go by the way Sirius."

Sirius responded, "Well wherever my godson goes, I'll be going. If you can ensure that we will be safe, I will gladly show up."

Cyrus beamed, "That's fantastic, with the Black's and Potter's showing up everyone withing the alliance is sure to be supporting the move by the end of the meeting."

Sirius said, "I'm sure we're going to need the support. If you would like to borrow this mirror so you can contact us when the meeting is starting, be my guest."

Cyrus looked very pleased with being able to have his hands on the magical object, "It'd be an honour, it truly is a wonderful piece of magic, I suppose only rivalled by this marauders map I've heard of."

Sirius burst out, "who told you about the map! That's meant to be a marauders secret!"

Remus spoke, "We showed him Harry's memory of the night, and the map was how I found everyone."

Sirius complained, "But someone still has to use that map, what's the points if everyone knows about it!"

Daphne said, "Why would someone still need to use- WAIT! Harry, you have that map! A map of all of Hogwarts and where they are?"

Harry smiled and nodded his head, "I've got avoid being caught somehow."

Daphne rolled her eyes, "No one is ever going to find you, you have a map telling you where everyone is, and an invisibility cloak so that nobody can see you."

Sirius said murmured about them knowing of the invisibility cloak to and said, "Well I'm going to leave now. Harry and Remus at 12 O'clock exactly I'll disable the wards, so make sure you apparate back then, directly into my office." And with that Sirius' face disappeared from the mirror. Remus flicked his wand, "We have 3 minutes, we should probably start walking outside your wards Cyrus."

Cyrus nodded his head, "Of Course, Of course, Remus I'll trust that you will come to the meeting later as well?"

Remus said, "As long as I am invited, although I feel I will not have much to add."

Cyrus responded, "Of course you're invited, you have plenty to add, you were present on that night after all, I need to ensure that all of the members are convinced of Lord Black's innocence."

Harry and Remus then got up and began to walk out of Greengrass Manor, there hosts followed them and at the door Daphne turned to Harry and said, "I guess I'll have to show up to ensure you're not bored out of your mind in this meeting then Harry."

Harry smiled, "That'd be nice, although once Sirius arrives, I think you'll find he brings plenty of entertainment."

With goodbyes exchanged the pair travelled down the cobbled path to the spot that they apparated onto, with a flick of Remus wand they watched the time tick over slowly to 12:00, and then apparated from Greengrass Manor.

July 3rd 1994, 12 Grimauld Place, London

Sirius was now sat in his chair; he had spent the time that Harry and Remus were away sat at his father's desk thinking over the contents of the letter. He had concluded one thing, that his father had known something, although what it was, he couldn't figure out. Clearly, he had an idea that he would return to this room so had left that letter.

He had scanned thoroughly through the book which had been left on his father's desk, it had contained very little relevant information, the page it had been left on appeared to explain nothing, and the whole book was about defensive magic, did he want him to use some of the spells on him and Harry? Or even on the house itself? He couldn't figure out what the damn book was meant to tell him.

But one key thing had stood out, at the very front of the book on this inside cover, there was a small message scrawled onto it, not the neat handwriting of his grandfather's, but much more like his own. It said, "Time is free, But it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it.", the last bit written in bold. The quote was even more confusing than the book itself, what did time have to do with any of it, was it meant to be a motivational quote for Sirius? Or did it have nothing to do with him and was just a quote left from a previous user of the book for his grandfather.

Sirius sighed and flicked his wand, 11:59, he quickly took his mind off the mystery of his grandfather and placed his hand on the ward stone, casting another charm to show the seconds on the clock. He watched as the clock counted down, when it had 5 seconds to go, he activated the wards, he felt the prick on his hand and then a small pull on his magic. A few seconds after Remus and Harry burst into the room with a pop.

Sirius promptly reactivated the wards, feeling the rush of magic come back through him, he smiled looking back at Remus and Harry, but before he could say anything to them, they heard the slam of a door downstairs.

They all quickly rushed down the stairs, finding a young witch with a pale heart shaped face and dark twinkling eyes, with short bubble-gum pink hair in the entrance hall of the house. She had her wand pulled out and pointed at Sirius, whilst Remus, Sirius and Harry had their wands trained on her. They stood in a stand-off for a few seconds, before Sirius said, "Nymphadora Tonks? It's been quiet a whilst, I haven't seen you since you were a child."

The Auror growled back, "There's a reason for that Black, let potter go before I start firing spells, I'm sure the dementors can't wait to have you back."

A/N: What do you think of the scene length in my fic so far? There was meant to be a lot more in this chapter but I underestimated how long it would take to write the scene at Greengrass Manor, and how many words that would of taken, I think the original plan for this chapter would of easily ended up at 10,000 words.

As always please review! I love knowing what people think of my story, and it motivates me to write more.
