Chapter 13
My supposed mental stable ex-best friend shot my mother two times in her chest. She chose not to shoot my father when he went to her aid. The neighbors heard her ranting about their supposed relationship and how my mother stood in the way. When the police arrived to question me, I could not give information. I was hiding under the table.
Even during my last two days, I chose not to visit my own in the hospital. I have no feelings for the woman who destroyed my life. Right now, I would be checking into my dorm and beginning to live amongst future colleagues. You ruined my life over the words of the community ignoring the fact that I am your daughter. I've never showed no type of mental instability nor hateful behavior.
I've stayed being a teenage girl who loves to study, work, and read books. You robbed me of a life that I can never get back. For that, you are dead to me. Do I take you being shot as karma? I do. If you had supported me as a real mother, my release would not have stirred hate inside of Claire.
I'm seated under the phone booth in the corridors of Greenwood waiting on Jacob to answer. Ring! Ring! "Hello." He answers with loud noises in the background. "Jacob Black." I firmly speak. "Mary-Ann, how you get the number to my cellphone?" I laugh. "The wonders of this world, Jacob Black. I actually need you to do me a favor." "I don't do favors, Mary-Ann."
"Of course not. Perhaps I should call Edward Cullen." I angrily whisper looking around. I'm glad nobody is listening but I'm sure the front desk clerk is. "Is that what you want. I don't take kind to threats." "Of course not. The world is vast when it comes creatures, Jacob Ephraim Black. Don't you agree?" "Depends. What are you asking?"
"For a visit. I need a new friend." Dr. Hunt turns the corner and head for me. "Come visit me and I'll give an insight of your future, Jacob. Bye." I stand up and hang the phone up. "How was your call, Mary-Ann?" "Unsure. I do not recall the phone call. Too much electricity on my brain, Dr. Hunt." "Of course. It seems you have a meeting with your lawyer tomorrow."
"That is odd. How weird for my biological mother to be nearly shot today to make her rethink what she has done to her daughter? Can't forget to add others." "I would suggest that you stay for more treatment. To shave your hair, it is a sign of instability." He speaks walking pass me. "Or the end of the world, Dr. Hunt. Only God knows or those who have the world in their hands." "We hope it is not to those can possibly see the future with mental instability."
I do not respond as I simply watch him walk away. A young man with a snobbish behavior. I do not like him at all. I pick the phone once again. "One phone call per a day." He says turning around. "I chose to make this a new day, Dr. Hunt. You should understand the instability of time." I press the number buttons to call Paul's cellphone.
Ring! Dr. Hunt grabs the phone out of my hand and hang up. "Perhaps I should revoke the need to use the phone." "What happened to my unborn child, Dr. Hunt?" What happened to my pregnancy with Paul? "You have monthly bloodwork, Mary-Ann. A pregnancy test is given which showed to be negative. Escort you back to your room." He grabs my arm, but I snatch it from him. I don't need him to walk me.

"Very sad that I have to threaten your friend to make you come see me, Paul." I snidely say seated across from him at the table. We're in the Visitation Quarters. "What do you want, Mary-Ann?" "Just for you to visit me." I reach across the table and grab his hands. The temperature of them is fiery. I place them on my cheeks that sends a shiver down my spine.
He takes his hands from me. "You threatened my friend for a reason?" "I never threatened him. I simply mentioned calling Edward Cullen because I know of his crush on Charlie's daughter, Paul. Jacob has nothing I want." He stands up. "Where are you going?" "Leaving. You're crazy." He walks around the table.
"Of course I am crazy, Paul. My best friend and mother ruined my life! One is in jail! The other is in the hospital! How am I supp-" The double doors opens to Dr. Hunt and a nurse. "Mary-Ann, visitation is over. You'll be taken into isolation." "Paul, I hope you come visit me next time." He ignores me walking forward. Whatever. At this point, I don't care for what comes next in my life.
I spend four days in a white padded room only to come out once on a visitation concerning my lawyer. He believes that he might be able to get me out of this sentence due to Claire shooting my mother. She's still alive. Being in self-isolation, I wished for her death. At least I know that I would not have to deal with her. Who I am has slowly begun to become corrupt.
I even called my father and told him that his wife destroyed who I am. I told him that if it comes a time where I am released, I will finish what that fool had failed to do. That's how hard the brutality of what this institution has done to me. I'm no longer the same individual who was forced in. If I never had a mental disease in the past, I have one now.
Two days after the phone call, I heard from Dr. Hunt that my lawyer will no longer be on my case. I was to stay in Greenwood to continue to serve my sentence. Through such misery, I prayed to God for strength.
I'm standing outside in the courtyard watching the fiery flames engulf the mental institution. Since my shock therapy, I have been having rapid illusions. I'm unsure of what is real or not is real. Perhaps these are visions that I am choosing not to embrace. I care nothing of a fire hitting this building. A reddish black butterfly fly by me. I follow behind it as it goes for the flowerbed.
Is it real or is it fake? It has to be fake for it to allow me to chase behind it. When it lands on the pink flower, I fall to my knees and dig my hands into the soil. "That is not allowed." A young man says rushing over. "Are you fake or real?" "I'm real. That's not allow." I throw the soil all around. He's probably fake also. "Alan, this is Mary-Ann." Dr. Hunt says.
"4.9 GPA forced in because of my foolish mother thought I could see the future. Karma ate into her by putting two bullets into her chest. She survived it when she should not had but sometimes evil outlives good." "Wow. I'm going in." Alan says walking in. "Bye, Alan." I throw the soil at Dr. Hunt. He steps aside avoiding it. "I guess we will be having fun, Mary-Ann." I'm already prepared for that.
