Ch. 2
Lily Evans found for the first time since third year. That Potter hadn't proclaimed his undying love or publicly to get her to go to Hogsmead with him. Not even look at her. But heard all the things that he was getting from Zonko's joke shop.
Marlene Meadows fell into the seat next to Lily. "Ah, can this day get any worse?"
"Whats wrong," Lily couldn't help but ask.
"Sirius Black hasn't even looked at me," she whined. "Every other week like clockwork. We would hook up and have a weekend of snogging. But no," Marlene glared at him. "Not even a hint."
Lily looked towards her roommate with a sad look. "Sorry Mars, maybe he wants something else. Like something long term."
Marlene grumbled, "Maybe." She shrugged her shoulders. "This is our last year. I guess he would start thinking about marriage. Even though he's not an heir anymore, but still need a wife."
Lily leaned into her. "Come on. We could have a girls day. Get new clothes, makeup, chocolate…"
Marlene giggled. "Alright! You win." Pushing Lily back. "You got me at chocolate."
With a smile, Lily and her roommates had ate their breakfast. Before leaving the Great Hall, heading out the castle. Climbing into the carriages and headed into town.
Lily had found that she had a good time in the Wizarding Town. When it came close to five o'clock hour. She found that it was hard for her to pull herself away. But knew that she gave her word to help Sirius Black.
Speaking of the Devil. She found him near the carriages to take them back to the school. The two climbed in, just as it started to move.
"Did you enjoy your day, Evans?"
"Yes, thank you." She gave him a look. "Why you're heading back?"
He pulled out the piece of paper he had for the potion recipe. Pointed to one of the ingredients. "It needs a drop of my blood for day two. It needs fresh blood."
Lily nodded her head in agreement. After seeing for herself. "Hence it is day two, after all."
"Persicily," he purred out. Making Lily want to slug him for his pureblood nature of his. She found that all pureblood wizards were the same. They're Gods' gift to human kind, type additude.
"I hope your soulmate has a brain, Black." She looked at him darkly.
"Hmm," he gave her a once over. "Soulmate you say," he asked her. "I guess magic does have its own truth of Fairy Tales." He shrugged his shoulders. "But I do see the appeal for a bookworm, in a love intrest."
"Really, why?"
"James has noticed, how you hide behind books. Trying to hide your blush, when he notices you. Or hiding a glance, while you're on a look out for him. I have even seen it."
Causing Lily's cheeks to heat up. Turning towards the window. Not liking that she was being called out on. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Sirius chuckled, "Don't worry your pretty head, Red. I won't tell him." He shook his head. "It would be fun if she had a brain. Then I would get why James has it bad for you."
Lily huffed in annoyance but didn't reply to his banter. She didn't have the energy to keep up with him. After they returned the school. They ate dinner, before going to the potions classroom.
She gave a couple stirs before adding anything else. Like unicorn hair, pixie dust, then a drop of Sirius's blood. Then a few more stirs.
"Two days down," stated Sirius.
"One more day to go. Then the potion will be ready for Tuesday."
He gave her a thoughtful look. "When a where are we to do it?"
"Well that's the thing. It said moonrise, and the door/gateway needs to be bathed in moonlight." She looked at him with worry. "If I'm not mistaken, isn't it a waxing corresent moon?"
Sirius grumbled, "Yeah. That means I have a midnight date with the library."
Lily smiled, "I know that Expecto Patronum can give off a moonlight glow, when cast right."
"Evans, I could kiss you!" Before kissing her forehead and ran from the room. " I have a Moony to catch!"
Lily felt fearful for her fellow bookworm, after seeing a gleeful look on Black's face. She was worried for her fellow Gryffindor bookworm. Lily placed a hard powered protective ward around the cauldron before leaving the classroom. Knowing that Snape would be using the classroom soon.
Lily left feeling the hairs behind her neck standing on end. She glanced around, not seeing anyone. Before fishing out her wand and devolve into the shadows. Lily had disillusioned herself and muffled her footsteps. Only to see Severus Snape coming around the corner.
"Lily," she heard him call her name. Sounded like he was heartbroken.
"Snape," she heard Black's younger brother called out. Nearly right behind her. Causing her to hug the wall. "Why are you wondering the dungeons?"
Serverus gave the young Black a glare. "Exercising."
"Why aren't you making your potions?"
She saw Serverus' settle sign of irritation, but she saw it. "I've been seeing Evans brewing lately. Just wanted to know what it was."
"Indeed," huffed Regulas. "The Great Snape has to know everything when it comes to potions." He made his way next to Serverus. "Come, we got homework to work on." Then the two left the hallway.
Lily couldn't believe her luck. She needed to leave, while she still could. She allowed her feet to lead her away. Before finding herself at the chapel, where would go every Sunday. Even though it was on Saturday night.
She fell into one the pews. Just as her spells lifted themselves, allowing herself to be visible again. Where the prier to see her.
"Miss Evans, why are you here at this ungodly hour?" Making his way towards her.
Lily gave him a kind smile. "Sir...what is your outlook on soulmates?"
The prier smiled kindly at her. "Like the book has said in the beginning. God took a rib from Adam and made Eve. Not just to live as his slave, but as his life mate. An equal to share his life experience with. Why do you ask?"
Lily took a deep breath and told the holy ghost of a man, everything. Even the potion that she was making for Sirius Black.
The ghost smiled, "I can't tell you what you need to do, child. But helping a fellow lost sheep find his way, is mendable. Finding one's soulmate is life's greatest award."
Lily smiled, knowing it was a wishful thought. Knowing that there was someone out there made for her. "Does he even deserve to have a soulmate? Even after all the tomfoolery her causes the school?"
The prier laughed, causing his belly to juggle. "Even I don't know God's plan. I'm still here, sheaporing lost sheep. But he would want the happiness to all, even to those that don't believe in him."
Lily nodded, "I'll see you in the morning…"
"Sleep well child. All things look brighter in the morning," he smiled at her.
With a heavy heart and a lighter head. She left the chapel. Feeling more enlightened than before that day. Sleep couldn't be closer than humanly possible.
