Lady Countryrose

Ch. 8

Hermione woke up at just as the clock hit six o'clock. Where she went to Lyra's bed and woke her up. Together, they grabbed their things and went into the bathroom. Where they showered and got ready for the day. Then Hermione woke up Lily, which caused the other girl to wake up with a squeak.

Lily giggled, "Alice, we have new dorm mates!"

Alice huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "I can see that, Lily. But answer me this, where were you last night?"

"Our fault," Hermione and Lyra spoke up. Hermione went on to say, "Our grandfather had called for her and Remus last night. Showing us around the castle."

"Who is your grandfather," Alice asked.

"Albus Dumbledore," smiled Lyra.

"What, wow?!" Alice shook her head and then looked at the clock. "Seven! I need to get ready!" Then grabbed her own things and rushed to the bathroom.

Lyra turned to Lily. "What's wrong, classes don't start till nine?"

Lily smiled, "Frank Longbuttom, he is a seventh year Gryffindor. They have been dating for over a year. And believe me, I heard more things about Frank than I care to know about."

After waiting for Lily. They made their way down to the common room. Only to see the guys were waiting for them. While ignoring another boy of their group. Who whined, "Did I miss something about last night?"

When the group noticed them. The three-fourths of them jumped to their feet. Rushing towards the girls.

Sirius Black went to Hermione, wrapping an arm around her. "Hello Kitten," he purred out. "Missed me?"

She smiled kindly. "Hard to miss someone when they're right here."

"Too right," he pulled her closer to him.

Remus, being the gentleman, only gave Lyra an arm. Leading her out of the common room. While James jumped his way over to Lily, with a great big smile. "Morning, my dear Lily flower."

Lily rolled her eyes. Following behind everyone else. Knowing he was right behind her. Only to hear Peter stumbling after them.

Once they reached the Great Hall. The tables were half full. Seeing many people tuning in to watch Hermione and Lyra, as they were new to the school. Lily grumbled that they should keep to themselves.

After the group had grabbed their plates and piled on what they wanted. Ate in a calm, quietness that the school has never seen before. Just at 8:30 that morning. Albus Dumbledore had gotten upon his feet and walked towards the two girls. When they saw him, he waved for them to follow him towards the platform in the Great Hall.

Once the three stood behind the owl podium. Albus spoke out to the students, "As everyone can see, we have a couple of new students this morning. Everyone, this is Hermione and Lyra Dumbledore. My granddaughters."

Which caused many, within, to mummer with one another. He waved for their attention again. "They arrived at a late portkey, which caused an unfortunate issue. They won't be in class this week. But they will start first thing on Monday. As for why they have come to Hogwarts, that would be a mix of simple and tearable circumstances. I'm their soul living kin, other than my brother. So they will be attending their sixth and seventh years here."

Hermione felt nervous. She knew that she didn't do well with her own sixth year tests. Since Albus had her jumping through many issues with their research. While also having to deal with his death. Along with knowing that, Severus Snape, was ordered to kill him. Which really upset her.

`Great, now Riddle will know about them being here. Even though they are supposed to be his granddaughters. It was enough for them to be a target for that mad man.'

"Enjoy your day in classes," Albus smiled to the school students. He then turned to the two of them, whispering. "Come with me to my office. We have some paperwork for you to sign. Then open a couple of bank vaults. Get you your own school supplies and clothes."

Hermione and Lyra simply nodded to the headmaster. As the two followed him out of the Great Hall. Only to be stopped by Professor McGonagall, with a stern look across her face. "Albus, why didn't you wake me? When did a couple of new students arrive?"

Albus flashed her his most heartfelt smile that Hermione had ever seen before. "Minerva, forgive me, but I had asked Ms. Evans and Mr. Lupin to escort them last night. Since you had a busy day this morning."

If Hermione hadn't known that Professor McGonagall turns into a cat. She would wonder if she was a bird, since she looked like her feathers were ruffled up. "Albus," she chirped at him. "Why are you not allowing them to come to class?"

"Their parents were killed before their eyes, Minerva. Before they were violently whisked away with the portkey. I just want them to have a few days of healing. Along with them needing their own supplies before they start," he grossed out. Implying his words with a stern look in his blue eyes.

The Transfiguration Professor nodded her head. "Understood, Albus, we just can't afford for anyone to be left behind. With what is going on across the country."

"Agreed," he smiled at her. Before leading the two teenage girls towards his office, once more.

Once in the office, the headmaster sat behind his desk. Giving them a list of what classes he had at the school. Telling them what grade they had for OWL testing. Along with a circle, options on which classes to take for sixth year.

"Do you two have any ideas of what you would like to become, after Hogwarts?"

Hermione smiled, "I want to get into Magical Law Enforcement and change some of the laws that we have."

Albus nodded his head, before turning to Lyra. "I want to be a curse breaker. I seemed to be natural at that at my old school."

After they had filled out the information that he had asked. He signed a few papers before giving them to Hermione and Lyra to sign. "It states that I'm your grandfather and have been given full guardianship for the two of you." Which the two had signed with their new last name.

Then he signed another paper. "This is for attendants to the school for sixth year." Which they signed, anything to stay at Hogwarts longer. Staying a far reach from Tom Riddle.

He then pulled out a few papers. Signing his name. Along with adding some information on the information lines. He glanced up after he was done. "This is stating that whatever happens to me, you would inherit everything that I own." Again they signed with worried looks across their faces.

Once he had gotten all the papers back. He walked away from his desk. Waving for the two to follow him. "We are going to do a blood adoption. Which will make things easier for us."

With a cut of his hand, followed by Hermione and Lyra to do the same. Albus chanted a few words, causing their blood to dance from their hands. Swirling around each other, before making its way back to their hands. Before, their bodies glowed in a golden light.

The three of them felt slightly lightheaded. Hermione and Lyra's hair had gotten a little more auburn than it was before. Making them more possible for them to be related to the headmaster.

"Now we'll head to Diagon Alley," stated Albus with a kind smile. He grabbed their hands, and they were whisked away.
