Saber lowered her blade, smoke still emiting from the tip. The weapon of mass destruction shone under the moonlight in the hands of his beautiful owner.
"The enemy servant has been incapacitated, master, what do you wish to do?"
Shirou smiled while a horrified Illya clinged to his jeans. Her legs were shaking from both the scenery and the thought that her own brother allowed this.
"Saber, you can rest if you wish. It's up to you whether you want to sully your blade with her blood or just let her escape." Shirou knew what was about to happen. The explosion must have drawn the attention of at least all the participants that are in Miyama.
The first of the arrivals must be Tohsaka Rin.
"Hmph, it is not worth wasting time on such a weakling, begone from my sight. saint." Saber addressed Rider, who did not waste this opportunity.
She stood up, but the pain almost made her pass out. Her left arm was basically useless and she probably had more than two broken ribs. Not to mention the sheer amount of burns on her body. She needed to escape with her—
Her master! Where did that boy end up?!
She opened her mouth in an attempt to call for him only to be interrupted by the sudden presence of another servant.
She clenched her fist as she allowed her body to enter spirit form. No risks must be taken, she was in no shape to fight another master and if that boy still lives he has to be able to make it out on his own. Otherwise he would seal his own fate.
Saber smirked at the sense of another servant's aura.
"Master, another servant has come nearby—" And before she could finish, the servant's presence disappeared. "No, nevermind, the servant is gone. But I doubt that they came alone."
The next thing Shirou felt was a familiar magical energy signature. Tohsaka Rin's mana.
"Saber, you stay here and protect Illya, I will handle them on my own."
Saber nodded in agreement.

Shirou went out of the mansion, he felt the magical energy draw closer and closer with each step, but then a sharp mana spike disturbed him on a different spot from where Tohasaka was. The spike was brief, like the activation of a single use mystic code.
He waited for a bit then continued his way towards Tohsaka.
Through the smoke, a humanoid figure was visible to him. But that wasn't the figure of Tohsaka. Perhaps it was a survivor? Or Shinji himself? Anyways Shirou projected a kitchen knife and fired it at the figure.

Shirou had to dodge with all his speed to avoid being beheaded by this new figure that casually avoided his knife.
The smoke cleared to reveal a boy that seemed just a little older than him.
The boy attacked Shirou mercilessly, wielding just a small knife with no history, but Shirou knew better than to underestimate this boy, for some reason, the voice within his head screamed danger whenever that knife was nearing him. That voice told him that he shouldn't let it touch him.
Shirou projected a normal katana he saw in a festival and used it to try and parry the knife. What he didn't expect though was that the katana would just be cut in half and dissolve on contact with the knife.
Shirou was confused but it wasn't the time.
A punch came straight to his face and he only had one way to dodge it.
"Trace On!"
Shirou screamed, projecting seven nameless longswords above the relentless attacker, who, to his surprise, didn't even stop and punched him hard in the face. He then proceeded to make a salad of his swords. Using. A. Literal. Kitchen. Knife.

Boy was that a risk!
Shiki thought after shaking his hand a bit to get rid of the pain he got due to punching his assaulter. It felt like he punched steel! If it wasn't for reinforcement, he probably would have broken a bone or two.
"You, just what are you, your knife says nothing about you and it's just an ordinary object. How can you make short of my projections that easily?"
Shirou asked as he wiped the blood coming down his nose.
"Sorry, secret of the trade! Can't say. But I bet you still want a piece of me, don't you?"
Please don't.
Shiki thought, if it wasn't for this knife Archer gave him, he would have figured it out almost immediately.
"Interesting… Then I shall get serious too." Shirou announced.
"I am the bone of my sword—"
Shirou heard those words ring in his ears before leaping back and running.
"Broken Phantasm deployed, True Name enabled. Fire!"
And the string of a bow was released, a crimson blade was launched towards Shirou's mansion, Shirou jumped midair and raised his arm to intercept this—Oh shit.
"Saber! By my command seal I order you, do not allow the projectile to hit the house!"
Shirou's arm burnt like fire. Proof that a command spell was utilized.
Saber immediately felt the surge of power rush through her and raised her blade, her pupils shrunk at the incoming projectile.
Mana flowed towards the tip of the dark sword, then like a black laser beam, the projectile was pierced midair and it exploded into a small heat dome.
Shiki took that as a chance and ran back to where Tohasaka stood, at least that was what he intended to do before she bumped into him.
"We need to get out of here. NOW." Rin told Shiki, who nodded in agreement.
Archer quickly landed in front of them and carried them both on his shoulders before leaping towards the sky, despite Shiki and Tohsaka's obvious resistance.

"Ho. Interesting, one new addition to my armory." Shirou said. After all, he managed to analyze the broken phantasm right before exploding.
Trace On…

"That's far enough Archer, put us down." Rin commanded, her tone still not back to normal, the shock still had its effect, although someone probably called for an ambulance and the fire force, except that there sure have been casualties.
That traumatized her, not because she was partly responsible for the deaths due to her being the second owner, but because it was Shirou who caused it. Shirou, the boy she liked, Shirou Emiya who always had a smile on his face.
"Tohsaka… Are you okay? You didn't get hurt back there, did you?" Shiki put his glasses back on and asked after seeing the state of Rin.
He knew it was hard to get your trust betrayed, to let go of the illusion and embrace reality was one of the few things he learned to do in his journey.
"Master? Master!" Archer caught Rin who almost dropped on the ground unconscious.
"Kid! Help me out here, I'll carry her back home, you follow me and keep an eye out for any danger, I'll alert you if I feel a servant's aura."
Shiki nodded, he knew what he had to do.
They quickly walked across the residential area, it didn't take Shiki long to notice they were followed.
"Archer! Watch out!"
Shiki and Archer jumped away as a huge bird came crashing down on them, turning into a splatter of black liquid.
The black liquid squirmed as if it was alive, then it splitted into five pieces, each of those pieces became a four legged monstrosity that took the form of a hound, a very feral and dangerous hound.
Shiki stared at the small pieces of darkness in pure disbelief, it couldn't be. No way.
Archer placed Rin behind him and projected his pair of swords.
"Kid! I'll protect my master, you go on the offensive." Archer's words snapped Shiki back to reality, as he removed his glasses and took out his knife.
The hounds closed in slowly, the first one that jumped on Shiki without any plan was sliced into small pieces that dissolved into mana particles.
The second attempted to grab Shiki's leg while the third came for his left hand. But Shiki saw this before, he stabbed the one on his left leg in the skull before it could bite and dodged just in time so that the other one fell right into Archer's range. It got shredded by a barrage of slashes from Archer's sword.
Except that the fourth and the fifth came so fast that Shiki could not block or dodge in time, Archer on the other hand, automatically projected a katana and threw it in front of Shiki.
Shiki caught it just in time to block both of his assaulters at once, then with his free hand, he grasped his knife and threw it exactly at the death point of the closer hound.
The last hound felt endangered but before it could turn tail and run, Shiki sliced it in half using Archer's katana.

"Nice one kid. I would've allowed you to keep that but it can't stay around for long. It should disappear in a couple of minutes."
Archer proudly spoke, before he turned around and picked up the unconscious Rin.
"Archer, these weren't normal familiars were they?" Shiki cold sweated at the question he asked. If his expectations were right, then the biggest problem wouldn't be the holy grail war.
"I agree, these certainly were not normal familiars, I suspect a Noble Phantasm or a personal skill of a servant. But this can wait until Rin recovers." Archer frowned as he recalled Shiki's past through his knife.
"Don't worry, if it's him, you can beat him again."

"Will she be okay?" Shiki asked.
"She's physically already fine. All she needs is some mental rest." Was Archer's answer.
"What will we do now?"
"Nothing, go take a rest. It has been a long night."
"I can do that. What will you do?"
"Wait for her to wake up. Don't worry I have some experience in healing, if anything goes wrong I know how to fix it." Archer replied, ending the conversation.
Shiki left the room, he had a lot to talk about with Archer but Rin's health was a priority.
That boy called Emiya Shirou, he has the same abilities Archer possesses, what could have led to such a bizarre coincidence? Well I can ask Archer later, now, it's those familiars that we need to identify.

The next day on the news broadcast…
"We have received reports yesterday of a small explosion in the residential area of Miyama, specialists say the cause of the explosion was an identified gaz leak that led to such horrific results, five houses were destroyed due to this unfortunate accident with the minor body count of five people. We give our honest condolences to the families of the deceased.
Yet another strange occurrence that happened yesterday was another small leak of a freezing liquid, in the top compartment of Shinto Hotel, owner says that the liquid was not brought in by their own workers, suspecting that it was the tenant who caused this incident, the result was the formation of a big ice block occupying the hotel floor rendering it useless until a later notice.
The tenant who was using that room is also nowhere to be found."

Not quite 2000 words but close enough, I don't want to stretch the chapter more than it already is and the rest of the events will start revealing themselves in a better rate this way.
