The shadowy figure was without a doubt, Assassin.

That was Lancer's first thought as she gave chase. Her personal skill activated on previous command, Wisdom of Dún Scaith, allowing her the ability to mimic any servant's skill at A-Rank as long as it's not unique only to that specific servant.

She used it specifically to mimic a certain ability she noticed Archer utilize while keeping watch last night.

His ability that he gained through sheer training and magical enhancement of his eyes.

Archer had Clairvoyance, if only rank C.

Clairvoyance A enhanced her vision drastically and allowed her to read Assassin's moves like a cliché storybook.

The latter threw three black dirks at her in an attempt to slow her down; they were aimed at the right leg, the left arm and the throat, but to no end as she skillfully dodged while still maintaining her speed.

He cursed silently as he noticed the amount of trouble she is causing him. At this rate, she'll catch up to him before they could reach the place.

Changing strategies, Assassin kept his entire focus on speeding and using the environment to his favor.

It was almost sunrise, time was running out.

On the highway, two streaks of visual distortions flashed by the passing cars, Assassin taking the lead while Lancer chased him relentlessly.

A truck carrying cars was up ahead, Assassin, for all his focus on running away, would not waste such a chance.

Two dirks were thrown, and the bindings holding the cars in place were dismantled like a spider's web.

"Tch… Hindrance…"

The Queen of Shadows said under her breath, then she clutched her spear placing the tip in front of her before she used it as a jumping pole to leap in the air, fiery explosions obstructing the view to those in front of her.

Assassin smirked under his mask, well, if he had a full mouth he would have smirked.

Assassin Half-smirked under his mask as he couldn't see his purser behind him anymore. But quickly looked up as he felt the very air around him shudder and shake as if being sucked into a black hole.

"GATE OF SKYE!"

Lancer announced, alerting Assassin to her position being almost right above him.

—But that was the least of his worries.

Behind him a literal black hole appeared small the size of a door, but it crazily devoured the air into it, as if it was a gateway to the void itself.

He had to hold on to a nearby pole not to get inhaled by the spacetime distortion and use all of his dexterity to realign the force to propel him away.

"You're not getting away!"

Lancer all but shouted as she physically disappeared into another distortion that appeared under her.

Assassin had no chance to see, notice, calculate or even speculate what in the actual hellfire just happened as he felt his ribs crack under the velocity of a speeding truck.

Lancer warped from one gate to the other, delivering a strong kick to the black garbed servant's torso.

No chance to evade, no chance to think, the moment she entered the second gate, she exited from the other one.

The kick delivered them way off road, in fact, they were out of the city, reaching the forest behind Ryuudoji Temple.

Two blood-starved spears appeared from thin air and were shot like ballista bolts.

Assassin's black cloak fluttered in the break of dawn, terrible pain coursing through his nervous system that he had to use his skill, body modification, to numb himself as he got impaled once in the right leg, and the other into the left arm, not to even mention the terrible damage he took from the kick.

A screeching noise was heard and the onyx garbed servant was pinned to a tree with two spears embedded into his limbs.

He tried his hardest to free himself, but strength was never his specialty, even without the heavy drop in parameters that he suffered due to his incomplete summoning.

Lancer landed close to him, focusing her full attention on him. It wasn't long then until Shiki landed like a potato sack rolling nearby, alerting them both.

"Owowowowow—"

Shiki called out in pain, but quickly regained his composure, as Archer landed gracefully near him princess-carrying Rin.

"So, the chase is already over?"

Archer commented, addressing Shiki.

"Apparently, but are you sure Caster and Bazett would be fine alone?"

Replied Shiki who even after regaining his stance, couldn't help but rub his backside a bit, nursing the pain that Archer was kind enough to tell him to brace for, before he dropped him off in the next second.

"Eh, don't underestimate the power of a Caster while defending bases. Especially when they're paired with a melee specialist."

Archer quickly assured Shiki, his eyes fixated on Assassin.

"Archer, don't interfere."

Lancer addressed Archer with a warning tone.

But before he could reply, Rin stepped up and spoke.

"He's all yours. Lancer."

After Lancer made sure everyone was fine, and that no one will interrupt her hunt, she turned back to face the wraith, only to take on a battle position again due to the alerting sight that was displayed to her.

The dark figure's head bobbed up and down uncontrollably, before the silver mask that was the trademark of an Assassin suddenly froze in place.

"So you've finally awakened, Angra Manyu."

Shirou spoke, eyes glowing fiery gold, addressing the red eyed Sakura.

A pregnant silence followed as both Rider and Saber were stunned beyond words.

"Ahh, what a refreshing breeze. Though it's kinda cold don't you think?"

Replied not-Sakura, as she returned the glare with a vile smirk.

"True, but you won't let that stop you now, will you?"

Shirou chimed, raising an arm while talking.

"You know more about me than I do know about you, I assume, considering that you already know my true name. So? Who is it that I'm talking to? Surely not Emiya Shirou..."

The darkness within Sakura answered once again.

"You will know in due time, our alliance is yet to start, but I will give you this."

Shirou's face assumed an amused expression as he communicated with a force unknown. Then he approached Sakura's ear and whispered.

"The Time for Rebirth Hath Come."

Another instance of silence followed, both the servants were too surprised to even consider talking.

Sakura's face distorted into an overly pleased expression, a villainous smile that had no business hiding it's true intentions and purposes.

"Heeh, amusing, too amusing even. Very well, I shall pledge my allegiance to you, who assumes the vessel of Emiya Shirou."

Like previously, once the red color faded from Sakura's eyes, she fell to the ground unconscious.

.

Lancer readied herself for something even her borrowed rank-A clairvoyance did not foresee.

The skull mask cracked and revealed a place for a mouth that normally shouldn't be there, a long tongue crawled out and started writhing like a snake before the would-be chin of the skull moved up and down, announcing the activation of a noble phantasm…

[Delusional Heartbeat: Zabaniya]

A whisper was all it took, and the shadow cast by the wraith's bandaged right arm crawled in incredible speed towards Lancer's heart, defying physics and logic.

But it was not fast enough, fortunately, there was enough space between the two servants for Lancer to dodge in time.

—Except that it was simply a decoy…

The bandaged arm tore through the seals, a demonic limb triple the size of that of a normal human emerged. Pulsing red to yellow, it hungered for Lancer's heart.

It wasted no time heading towards Lancer's chest, one touch, if Assassin could simply make physical contact, then he would—

"...?!"

It was so fast, even Lancer didn't see it coming.

A slashing sound was heard.

The limb fell to the ground, unmoving like it was never meant to move in the first place.

There was no blood, no flesh being cut, no resistance from the fabrics that construct the muscle.

Simple and complete DEATH.

Silence took over the place like a plague for a good second.

Then the limb was no more, reduced to hems of golden light.

The wraith hanged to the tree could only scream after that, making sounds that could never be heard from a normal human's throat, sounds so high pitched that It could only be described as demonic screeching.

Shiki stared at the black garbed servant in horror, he saw the servant's lines and points, but…

"Lancer! This thing is—"

Shiki announced but was interrupted by Lancer's unusual stance.

She held two crimson spears and pointed them at the screaming Assassin.

"I understand, Shiki."

That was all she said before she dashed, leaving a sonic boom in her wake.

"Wait! Don't—"

Shiki attempted to rush and stop Lancer, but was stopped as Archer pushed him back.

"Stand back you idiot, she told you that she understands."

Red lines and distortions appeared around her, as she hit the enemy servant high into the sky with the hilt of her right held spear.

The demonic screeching didn't stop, as the long tongue that writhed in the skull mouth flailed uncontrollably, as the black garbed servant shouted loudly:

"Protection from the wind!"

A gentle breeze appeared around him protecting him from all damage while it lasted.

—If it lasted.

"—Stab and Pierce…"

Scáthach chimed, red distortions conjured around the black servant and closed on him in a crimson flurry of stabbing and pain.

"Seek Death… Impale and bleed…"

The queen of shadows continued, the spear in her left dismissed, likely to join the crimson torture that Assassin was subjected to. Taking on a throwing stance with her right spear over her shoulder. She opened her eyes, purple pupils staring into the very void that was Assassin's heart.

"Curse him in my stead… Gáe Bolg Alternative!"
