We start off with Dwayne Junior narrating.
The school system, the way it is set up, Is useful for helping young kids achieve their goals. And, the student of Bronzestone high, look out for one another, and are willing to help others in danger. This is the dangerous sophomore year.
The tugs theme then plays.
Junior's POV
With the crazy news of Ezekiel somehow getting inside the city limits, the parents of Mount Sword began acting way more strict toward their kids, as they didn't want them to be put in danger. The security for coming in and out of the town was absolutely ridiculous. It would take at least 1 hour for somebody to get in or out of the city. Their cars had to be inspected all the way through, and police went crazy if they found anything that was even similar to a weapon. One guy almost got in trouble, when he tried to bring knives into the town. He was ultimately let off the hook, when the cops found out he was on his way to work in the firehouse's Kitchen. The students went back to school the following day, where baseball tryouts were going to be held at the end of the day. As the final bell rang, Bertha pulled me off to the side to talk to me about the incident we just had.
Reader's POV
"Junior listen, i'm sorry I completely humiliated you at the retirement home, I didn't know it would cause a fight between you and your dad" said Bertha. "I wouldn't blame you in the slightest if you wanted to end our relationship." "Well I don't blame you in the slightest for the incident that took place, the only one I blame is my horrible excuse for a father" said Junior. "I'm not going to ditch the woman that saved my life." "Well now that we've got that settled, how would you feel about going rock climbing this weekend?" asked Bertha. "Okay, I'm up for it" said Junior.
Junior's POV
Baseball tryouts went a lot more smoothly than they did the previous year. This time I didn't get hit by the ball over and over again, and actually managed to to score quite a few runs. I started to get on Hudson's nerves, when I continued to outperform him. Hudson was the one who was leading the team to victory most of last season, but in the last few games of the year, I began to put up significantly better numbers than him. Hudson didn't like to be undermined by anyone, he felt that if he wasn't the best player on the team, he wasn't going to make it to the MLB. He was also able to make the team in tryouts, and this season he was determined to not lose to his own teammate. The weekend eventually came, and Oscar the groundskeeper was driving me and Bertha to the place where we would have our date.
Reader's POV
"I can't believe those guards were being so rough with me, picking on a man in his eighties with back problems" said Oscar. "I don't know what you're talking about, it actually wasn't that bad for the two of us" said Junior. "That's because you two are kids, of course they aren't going to be too rough with minors" said Oscar.
They eventually arrived at the mountain, where waiting for them was an older girl with a red shirt, and a red hair with a flower in it. "Hey Zoey, it's been awhile" said Junior. "It has been, I didn't expect to see you here" said Zoey. "You two know each other?" asked Bertha. "She used to babysit me when I was 7" said Junior. "And who might you be?" asked Zoey. "Bertha Richards, i'm Junior's girlfriend" said Bertha. "Whoa, Junior, I didn't know you were such a gentleman" said Zoey.
Junior's POV
We put on helmets, strapped into our harnesses, and began climbing. Zoey found it interesting how I was a Denny Hamlin fan, and pointed out how he was one of the best drivers Toyota had. She and Bertha also became good friends in the conversation. Zoey said that she deeply envied Bertha, and wished that she had seven siblings.
Reader's POV
Once they reached the top, Junior could not believe that a zip-line was waiting for them up there. "Whoa, Bertha you didn't tell me about this" said Junior. "Well I didn't want to ruin the surprise" said Bertha. The man in charge help the three of them get fastened in, one at a time. "I'M ON TOP OF THE WORLD!" yelled Zoey as she began riding down. "YEE HAW!" shouted Bertha. "IT FEELS LIKE I'M FLYING!" said Junior.
Junior's POV
Out of all of the dates I had with Bertha up to that point, that one was probably my favorite. Zoey told the two of us to stay in touch, and she wanted the two of us to double date with her and Mike at some point. What I did not realize about Zoey during that moment, is that she would one day save my life. But that is a story for another day.
Authors note: I've been rock climbing before, but i've never gone zip-lining. Although from what i've seen from videos on Youtube, it looks like a lot of fun.
The relationship between Junior and Zoey, is the kind of relationship an older sister would have with a younger brother.
Thank you for reading and please have a great day.
