We start off with Dwayne Junior narrating.
The school system, the way it is set up, is useful for helping young kids achieve their goals. And, the students of Bronzestone high, look out for one another, and are willing to help others in danger. This is the dangerous sophomore year.
The tugs theme then plays
Junior's POV
The end of term exams were coming up, and this meant that it was time for the usual school sleepover. Last year I spent every night of the sleepover with Bertha in a sleeping bag. It was the first time I had ever slept with a girl that wasn't blood related to me. This year was going to be different, as Bertha was still in the hospital. I was trying to take Carrie's advice of moving on with my life, but I was going to feel a little bit lonely without somebody to share a sleeping bag with. Now while it wasn't very likely, there was still a slight chance that Bertha could survive. If that were the case, I was wondering wether or not she would be allowed to remain a student at Bronzestone, as she was skipping a very important exam. Principal Star pointed out that Bertha was going to be receiving a medical waiver, stating that she could be a student next term without the exam. She would be at a major disadvantage for the exam at the end of next term though, as she was going to be behind in her studying. My auto mechanics teacher had some interesting words regarding her situation, and she took pleasure in telling me her opinion.
Reader's POV
"It's completely stupid that she's able to pass, by doing absolutely nothing" said Blaineley. "Of course, it's always the ugly ones that get the special treatment, how you became attracted to her, I will never know." "It's just a stupid celebrity crush that she has on you, all that flat chested slut wants to do is get into your pants." "SHUT UP!" yelled Junior. "MY GIRLFRIEND MAY BE SEXUALLY ATTRACTED TO ME, BUT SHE IS NOT A SLUT, SHE LOVES ME BECAUSE I'M A DECENT HUMAN BEING, SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL NEVER BE!" "Excuse me, I am your teacher, and you are therefore required to give me respect" said Blaineley. "RESPECT MY ASS, YOU DON'T GET IT UNLESS YOU EARN IT!" yelled Junior. "YOU ARE VERY LUCKY THAT STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTACK STAFF MEMBERS, BECAUSE IF THEY WERE, I'D BREAK BOTH OF YOUR LEGS IN HALF!" "THIS IS THE REASON WHY YOU'LL NEVER BE FAMOUS AGAIN, BECAUSE YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT YOURSELF, AND TAKE PLEASURE IN SEEING INNOCENT PEOPLE DIE!"
Junior's POV
What I did not anticipate, was for Blaineley to write me up, and have me reported to Principal Star. Upon arriving in his office, the first thing I asked, was why Ms. O'Halloran was not present for her disciplinary hearing. Principal Star told me that no matter what Blaineley did to frustrate me, there was no excuse for threatening her with violence. I then pointed out that I never threatened to hurt her, I simply just pointed out that I want to hurt her, but I can't due to school rules. Principal Star then told me even though he would be having a talk with Blaineley, he still didn't like my current attitude, and said that he was going to let me off with a warning. I then angrily stormed out of the room, but not before telling him that I expected an apology note from him, not later than the end of term feast.
Reader's POV
Junior and Seth were studying in the library a few minutes later. "Junior, do you not realize what you just did?" asked Seth. "The right thing, standing up for myself after I was picked on" said Junior. "You stand up to bullies, not to authority figures" said Seth. "You know, there is a message that needs to be taught at a young age" said Junior. "Nobody is required to obey people in charge of them, if they abuse their power." "Principal Star can't punish me for what just happened, because he's not allowed to." "If an authority figure punishes somebody for a false reason, the punishment does not count."
Junior's POV
The sleepover eventually ended, and I passed my examinations to get into the next term. Alyssa then invited me to another party taking place the following day, but this one was out of town. Her rich cousin that was actually a junior that attended Emeraldstone, was having a pool party at his place. I should mention that after nothing happening for several weeks, the tight security measures surrounding the town had finally been lifted. When I got home however, my mother was disappointed with how I acted in front of the principal, and told me that I was grounded. My dad then intervened, and said that I was simply standing up for myself, and overturned my grounding, much to his wife's annoyance. Uncle Harold was once again going with me to the party, and we left the house, as mom and dad were arguing with each other.
Reader's POV
"You know Junior, it wasn't too long ago I when I was in the same position as you" said Harold. "You know how I was given a long detention for putting an arrow through the principal's achilles tendon?" "I can indeed confirm that it was on purpose, but he totally deserved it." "That was payback for him running me over with his Toyota, when I was only nine." "I tried to sue that jackass back when the incident first happened, but the court wouldn't take my case." "A lot of people say that violence isn't the answer, but that only applies to minor things." "It all depends on how egregious the action is." "If somebody did something way too egregious, that actually caused you physical pain, and costs you hundreds of dollars in medical bills, you have every right to hurt that person without using self defense."
Junior's POV
I thought about what Uncle Harold said, and he was absolutely right. In some cases, if the situation is bad enough, violence without self defense is the answer. The pool party wasn't nearly as insane as the previous one, it was a happy party, with lot's of pizza's involved. What I didn't know was that at some point, Principal Star would punish me for something that wasn't my fault, and that I would retaliate by punching him in the face. But that is a story for another day.
Authors note: I am going to clarify, that I am not encouraging anybody to use violence without self defense, if they feel as though the person they are using it on actually did something to warrant it. It's just my own personal opinion, that in certain situations, attacking somebody really is the right thing to do. I am not encouraging you to do the same.
As for the moral of refusing to accept punishments for something that wasn't your fault, that is something I encourage 100%. If somebody that has power over you tries to give you an unjustified consequence, say no, and tell them to fuck off.
Thank you for reading and please have a great day.
