Jaune and Kali were currently in the Belladonna's sitting room. Both laughing as Jaune told the mother more stories of the shenanigans that Teams RWBY and JNPR had gotten into. Jaune was sitting more comfortably, having left his armor, cloak, and swords in the guest room he would be staying in. When he came back down, Kali had just walked in with a fresh pot of tea. With tea now in hand, he just told her stories about her daughter and the two would just keep laughing.

It was after the better part of an hour that the two finally stopped and savored their tea. Kali placed her cup down and smiled at him, "Well, it looks like Blake has gotten into quite a bit at Beacon."

Jaune just gave another quick chuckle, "I think that would be an understatement, Mrs. Belladonna." She then gave him a sharp look and he cringed slightly, "Sorry. I meant Kali."

"It's quite alright, Jaune." Her smile came back to her face relatively quick. "But, it is good to hear that Blake has had her fun." She sighed, "Even as a child, she has always been so determined and focused on what she wanted to do. Sometimes it neared obsessive." She looked at Jaune and saw the look in his eyes. "You've seen her do that; I take it."

He looked to the side as he answered, "Maybe once. Or twice." He sighed and turned back to her. "It's actually a problem I've had from time to time as well. Her team and my old one have had to set us straight a few times." He scratched the back of his head nervously, "Hasn't stuck as much as they hoped though. But, we try to pull the other from the edge when those moments come up. So, I would consider that an improvement."

Kali just gave him a long look, like she was looking for something. "You want to know what I see in you, Jaune?" she asked. Jaune was taken off guard by the serious tone she had and just silently nodded. "I can see that you are driven. Determined to stop the enemy you are fighting, at any cost. You want to protect those around you and will keep them at arm's length to keep them safer. Do you know who else had those same qualities?" Jaune just shook his head. "Adam."

Jaune's eyes widened and Kali nodded, "Adam wasn't always the monster he is now. He became it slowly over time. And, if I were being honest, I see it as a shame." She sighed sadly as she looked into her tea, "He experienced so much pain as a child and he just wanted to protect as many Faunus as he could. He just made the wrong choices to do that."

She looked back to Jaune, "He made one bad decision but instead of the people around him warning him of what would happen, they praised him. Even Sienna did. All that, it just made him feel validated in what he was doing. Now… Now he doesn't see himself or his choices as atrocities. Maybe if Ghira could've guided him. Or he had more people like you do Jaune… Maybe Adam wouldn't be the villain of the story."

Jaune was just stunned by what she had told him and came back to reality when he felt her gently hold his hand. He looked back to meet her eyes, "I'm not telling you this to frighten you. I'm just putting this into perspective. You love Blake, that I can see, dear. And I see she holds the same love for you. Just… Don't push her away to protect her. Face what your future has in store for you together. Alright?" She asked with a smile.

Jaune just looked at the mother before a smaller smile came to his lips, "I'll keep that in mind, Kali. Thank you."

Her smile stretched as she took her hand back, "No need to thank me, Jaune." She raised her teacup with a smirk, "I'm just ensuring that down the line I get some grandchildren." She took a sip of her tea before she looked back to Jaune, seeing his cheeks a very deep red. That just caused her to giggle at his reaction.

Jaune just sighed at her antics before he smiled again. He then slowly stood from the table, "Well, it's been a long day. Would you mind if I go to my room to rest?"

She shook her head, "Of course not, dear. Go rest up. You do have a lot to do while you are here."

He chuckled, "This is quickly becoming my normal, so I'm not too worried. Good night, Kali." He turned away from the table and started to make his way up to the second floor. It didn't take him long to get to his room and close the door behind him. He gently leant his back against the door as he just looked around the room. On a small desk to the side, across from the bed, was his swords and armor laid across it with his cloak over the chair. Along with his mask condensed down into its sunglasses form.

He kicked off his boots before he looked to the bed and for a few seconds, debated on going to sleep. But that is when he got another idea. He went over to the window and opened it before climbing out it. With his weight balanced on the windowsill for a few seconds before he reached up to grab a hold of the edge of the roof. With that, he effortlessly pulled himself onto the roof properly.

He stood up and walked a few feet away from the edge before he laid down. Folding his arms behind his head as a makeshift pillow, Jaune just looked at the night sky and grinned. There was only really one good thing about being out in the badlands and that was just how clear the night sky was. In the Kingdoms, it's nearly impossible to see the stars in all their glory. But out there, there was no extra lights. And Menagerie was similar.

He just laid there for a few minutes. Just enjoying the beauty of the night sky and cooler air that embraced him now that the sun had gone down. And it was there that he just let everything just fall away for a bit. The Grimm. Salem. Even himself. Just peace.

That was until he heard someone grunt and pull themselves onto the roof. He looked and was only mildly surprised to see that it was Blake. Her eyes landed on him and smiled. "So, this is where you were. I was wondering where you went." She said as she walked over to him.

He just watched her with a smile. Noticing that her white tailcoat was nowhere to be seen, leaving only her crop top covering her upper torso. And as he looked lower, saw that her thigh-high boots were missing as well. "Sorry about that. I just wanted a few minutes away. The boat and then everything today… It was a lot."

She nodded, "I get that." She said with a sigh as she sat on his left. She pulled her knees to her chest as wrapped her arms around her legs. She looked up to the sky with him. "Why did you choose up here?"

He just motioned with his head towards the sky, "We don't get the chance to see a view like that in Vale. I mean, Beacon has a slightly better view but it's still too close to the Kingdom." Blake nodded and turned to enjoy the view as well, an easy smile coming to her lips. After a minute or so of silence, Jaune decided to speak again. "How did the talk with your dad go?"

Her smile stretched a bit more, "Better than I ever expected. He forgave me and we just talked. We caught up and…" She trailed off to sigh, "It just feels so surreal. It was just a pipe dream for the longest time. Being back here, talking with my family." She turned to him with one of the happiest and most peaceful smile she had seen on her face. "I can't tell you how much I love you for helping me get to this point."

Jaune just chuckled, "Blake, it's fine. Besides, I didn't do-" He was cut off when Blake practically jumped on top of him and captured his lips with her own. His eyes widened as he stared into her half lidded amber orbs. She felt her lips smile against his own before her eyes closed and she kissed him more passionately.

It didn't take long for Jaune to close his own eyes and return the kiss with as much passion. He pulled his arm from under his head and wrapped them around her back, pulling her flush against him. She just hummed before her hands landed on his cheeks. It wasn't long after that, that their tongues came together in their passionate dance.

The kiss lasted for several minutes until the need for air was too much for both of them. They pulled away with a gasp and a string of saliva connecting them. The two looked into each other's eyes as they panted. He saw happiness and love in her eyes, but something else. Something deeper. He took a deep breath and swallowed, "Blake? What…"

She just shook her head and pecked his lips, stopping him. "There was a reason I came to your room." She whispered to him. His eyes widened just a bit. She nodded with a smile. "Come on." With that, she got off him and walked to the edge of the roof. She looked over her shoulder at him with that same smile before she disappeared over the edge. It didn't take Jaune long to get up and follow her.

Jaune slowly came to conscious the next morning. His eyes opened to see the ceiling of his temporary room in the Belladonna residence. The memories of the night before came back to him instantly before a content smile stretched across his lips. The night he spent with Blake would be one he would cherish for a long time. Even if he hadn't seen that night coming at all.

That is when he felt the warm body of his girlfriend snuggled against his left side. He felt her head on the left side of his chest and something soft slowly rubbing up and down his chest. He looked down to see that she was awake and was gently rubbing his chest with her hand. Their bodies were covered by the blanket from their waists down. Luckily, her chest was covered from it being pushed up against his side. He smiled before he planted a brief kiss atop her head, between her ears. "Morning, Blake."

Her hand stopped and she looked up at him with a content smile, "Good morning, Jaune. How'd you sleep?"

"One of the best night's sleep I've had." He answered her honestly. "How about you?"

"The same." She said as she snuggled closer to him, giving him another impression of her body. "Honestly, I would prefer just laying here like this all day." She then sighed, "But, regrettably, we can't. Eventually, my mom is going to come up here and see if you're alright. And I don't want her to see this."

He smirked, "Ashamed of last night?"

She shook her head, "Never." She said as she hugged him closer. "If she finds out, she'll either ask how it was…" she shuddered slightly. "Or ask when she'll have grandchildren. I want to avoid both of those options."

Jaune nodded, "Yeah. My mom would probably be the same. What if it was your dad that walked in?"

"He would probably try to tear you in half. Most likely with his eyes closed so he wouldn't see me naked." She told him in a matter of fact tone. "So, I would like it if they don't find out anytime soon. Or ever, actually."

"That is, if they don't already know. You were pretty loud at one point or another last night." He reminded her.

She blushed and hid her face into his chest. "I tried my best to be quiet but you were not helping the matter."

He chuckled slightly, "Guilty. Are you sore at all? I may've gotten a bit rough last night."

She shook her head, "You don't have to worry about hurting me. You didn't and whatever pain there might have been from the amount of sex we had, my aura took care of it already. I honestly loved every second of our time together." She held him close, "And I can't wait until we can have the chance to do it again."

He just chuckled but didn't answer her. Instead, he brought his left arm, which was still around her, up to her head and started to scratch her ear again. Blake just hummed slightly before her purring started to fill the room once again. For the next few minutes, the two lovers just stayed in bed and basked in the warmth of the other.

Eventually, Blake rolled on top of him and just looked at him with a smile and gleam in her eyes. She leant forward and gave him a chaste but loving kiss. Jaune easily returned it, his hands gently laying on the nape of her back. Her hands settled onto his shoulders before she pulled away. The two just stared into the other's eyes for a bit before they came back together for another kiss. One more became two. Two became three. And the cycle kept going.

That was until Blake gave a sound of discontent and found the willpower to pull herself away from her boyfriend. "As much as I'm enjoying this, we need to get up and showered before going down for breakfast. I wasn't kidding about her coming up here if we take too long."

Jaune sighed, not wanting to end his quality time with Blake but knowing she was right. "Alright." He looked over the room and their separate outfits scattered across the floor. "So, do you want to go first or should I?"

She thought for a second before she grinned, "You go first. I can use that as cover to sneak out of your room." That was when she rolled off of him and to his left, so he could get up.

"Good idea." Was his response as he sat up and turned to throw his legs over the right side of the bed. He was looking around the room to get an idea of where his clothes were.

But he froze when he felt her arms wrapped around his chest and her own chest press tightly against his back. He chin rested on his shoulder as she whispered into his ear. "But, if you like, I could put my skills to good use and sneak in to join you in the shower." She then gave him a lasting kiss to his cheek.

Jaune just sighed, "If we get caught, you have to defend me from your dad." That caused her to giggle and he just smiled at her.

About a half hour later, Jaune was making his way downstairs. Now feeling clean and refreshed. He was dressed in his usual gear, although he left his cloak, swords, and mask back in his room but he would grab those when he left the house. Blake had stayed in the shower when they were done, to finish cleaning up and try to give the illusion that she was taking a separate shower. By the time she would get out and dressed, enough time would pass that it would hopefully not give either of her parents any ideas.

When he got to the sitting room, he was shocked to see that Kali was the only one sitting at the table with breakfast already ready. She was drinking her tea when she saw him walk in. She lowered her cup and gave him a smile. "Good morning, Jaune. Did you sleep alright?"

He just nodded and gave her a respectful nod. "I slept very well, Mrs.- Kali." He quickly corrected himself. "Where is Ghira?"

"Oh, he had an early start today. Had a meeting with Saber Rodentia, the leader of the Guard here in Menagerie. He already had breakfast and left. But he should be back in an hour or two, depending on how the meeting goes." Kali informed him.

Jaune nodded and sat down at the table with her. He started to fill his plate with food as he continued the conversation. "Anything wrong?"

"Oh, no. Ghira has regular meetings with Saber. That way he knows of any new problem areas that could use more guards, areas that don't need as much guard presence and of course, how much of their weapons and armor are in need of repair or replacement." Kali told him after she took a bite of her own meal. "Although, he is going to use this meeting to help you with your endeavor, Jaune."

Jaune looked at her in confusion, "Really? How?"

She nodded, "Yes. He's going to see if the any of the guards have noticed any odd behavior from any Grimm recently. That way you'll have an area to begin your search at and you won't have to search every inch of Menagerie on a potential goose chase."

"Wow." Jaune said stunned. "I don't know what to say. I appreciate it."

She giggled, "It was the least he could do. You did come all the way here to make sure one of those Drakes wouldn't appear on our island. Honestly, I don't even want to imagine what would happen if one appeared without us knowing anything about it." She finished in a more serious tone.

"Well, you don't have to worry about that. I've pretty much built my Huntsman career on taking care of those types of Grimm." He gave her a confident grin.

"That may be true but I'll still be worried about my future son-in-law." She told him with a teasing grin.

That made him blush slightly, "Well, I don't think I'll be fighting any Drake alone. If Blake has anything to say about it, she'll be right there with me."

She grinned, "Oh, well I'm sure you too can handle yourselves just fine." She then took a sip of her tea.

That made Jaune chuckle a bit, "I'm glad I got the chance to meet you, Kali."

She smiled at him, "And I'm glad I got to meet you too, Jaune. And thank you again for bringing my daughter back home."

With that, the two heard footsteps and turned to see Blake walk into the room. She was back in her normal outfit and her hair was still slightly damp. She saw them both and smiled at them. "Morning, Mom." She said first before she leant down and gave Jaune a kiss. As she pulled away she said, "Good morning, Jaune."

He just smiled at her, "Good morning, Blake."

Blake just sat down beside him and started to get her own tea and breakfast. Meanwhile, Kali was just looking at the two with a smile. Jaune wasn't sure what it meant but a part of him just knew something was off. Her eyes then focused on her daughter, "Good morning, sweetheart. How did you sleep?"

She looked to her mother and smiled, "Great, Mom. I haven't slept that well in a while."

Kali didn't take her eyes away from Blake but was still smiling at her, "I can see that. I don't know why but you look like you're almost glowing this morning." She then placed her hand on her cheek. "And now that I think about it, Jaune, you have that same kind of look around you. I wonder what would cause that?" she asked. Her smile then shifted to be more teasing and knowing.

The two young adults just looked at Kali for a few seconds before what she was insinuating finally sunk in. Blake's eyes widened and Jaune's mouth fell open in shock. That was when both of them gained a deep blush. Blake was the one to find her voice, "Y-you know that w-we…" She trailed off, not knowing how to put it into words.

She nodded, "Me and Ghira had settled into bed ourselves. And as I was laying there, I could hear a few… Interesting sounds." She said this as her ears twitched.

Blake's blush deepened along with Jaune's and he was now having a hard time meeting her gaze. Blake spoke up again in a slightly higher pitch, "You heard us!?" she asked incredulously with a good amount of embarrassment.

She gave her a slightly guilty look. "Not much , dear. Once I realized just what you two were about to do, I put in the earplugs I use when your father snores. I didn't hear anything for the rest of the night."

By that point, Blake buried her burning face in her hands with a whimper. Jaune looked over to her, his cheeks burning just as badly, and gently rubbed her back. "Does Dad know?" she asked quietly.

Kali just shook her head, "No, honey. Your father doesn't have as good of hearing as we do and he is a deep sleeper. He has no idea." She then gave them both a calming smile, "And this is nothing to be embarrassed about. You two just decided to take that step and show your love for each other in a physical way. There is nothing for you two to be ashamed of."

It took a minute or so before Blake slowly but surely pulled her face from her hands. She then looked at her mother, her blush still there but lessened slightly. "Thanks, Mom."

Jaune nodded, "Yeah. Thanks for taking it so well, Kali."

She shook her head, "No need to thank me. I actually find the whole thing romantic." She then took a sip from her tea. "A young woman coming back to her home with the man she loves. Reconnects with her family and to defend it from an imminent threat. And before the battle, the two have a night of passion together." She was quiet for a bit before she spoke again. "Could make a good book."

"Mom!" Blake shouted in outrage.

"Oh, relax, Blake." She answered her. "I would never write a book based off you without your permission. And besides, I would change the names for your own privacy." She finished with a smirk.

Blake was trying to say something but it had appeared that she had momentarily forgotten how to speak. Jaune cleared his throat in embarrassment, "Kali, please stop."

She looked at the two and nodded, "Alright, alright. I'll stop." She giggled before she filled another cup of tea for herself. "So… When can I expect my first grandchild?"

"Mom!" Blake shouted in embarrassment as she slammed her hands on the table. Jaune groaned before he slammed his forehead against the table, trying to hide the blush that had returned to his cheeks. Kali just giggled at their reactions as the two just felt like they were about to die of embarrassment. Kali was an entirely different monster than what they were used to dealing with.

A/N- And here is the next one. Sorry it took so long and is a bit shorter than normal. Had trouble working on anything over the last few weeks but finally managed to get this done and sorted. And, yes, for those of you wondering what exactly Blake and Jaune got into during the night, I have a story for that: Void of the Night. So feel free to check it out if your curious. With that, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you all in the next update!
