Author's Notes: I want to thank everyone who decided to give this story a view. This is my first story on this site, so I'm having to learn how things work as I go along.
And to those wanting to see "moar", a huge thank you to you all as well. If anyone wants to voice their thoughts on what may happen next, I'd be happy to see it.
Again, thank you to everyone who everyone who decided to support this story. Well, here's to hoping I can live up to people expectations!
Update: A user bought up that the chapter was extremely short, and that I should expand on it a bit. Where it ended originally was (as I felt) a safe spot. I wanted to add more, but it felt like I was forcing it. Now after going back and working on it a bit, I managed to get it to work.
"Wow." Ruby and I exclaimed in awe.
Beacon was oddly beautiful. I mean, it did look nice, but knowing what it would look like in a few short months seemed to make it's beauty stand out even more.
I made a promise that I would try to prevent the fall of Beacon, but I was beginning to have doubts.
Would it work? Would it be enough?
...Would my actions even matter in the end?
I simply shook my head and smiled, "The view from Vale has nothing on this."
It really didn't, but the lingering thought of what was to come persisted.
I frowned, trying to shake that thought until I noticed Ruby beginning to ogle at the weapons of passing students.
"Ooh! Sis! That kid has a collapsible Bo staff! And she has a fire sword!" Ruby squealed, trying to chase down the girl with the fire sword.
Sadly, that girl will never know that she was saved that day, nor will she ever know that she was in danger to begin with.
...But that is the life of a huntress after all.
"Ow. Ow." Ruby whined as I pulled her back.
"Easy there sis. They're just weapons!" I said, trying to calm her down.
I remembered that Ruby loved weapons and their designs, but I couldn't remember why. Truthfully, I thought the fire sword was cool too, but I wasn't going to tackle some stranger to learn more about their weapon.
"They're not just weapons? They're an extension of our selves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!" Ruby exclaimed, squealing a bit at the end
"While I will admit the fire sword was pretty cool, I at least had enough self control to not tackle the owner to learn more about it."
"I wasn't-" Ruby began, before I cut her off with a deadpan stare.
"You were and would've if I hadn't stopped you."
Ruby looked around nervously and let out an awkward laugh. I sighed, and decided to change the subject. "What about Crescent Rose? Why are you swooning others weapons and not your own?"
Ruby unsheathed Crescent Rose as she began to answer, "I'm happy with Crescent Rose as it is! Also, I know everything there is to know about my weapon, so seeing others weapons is pretty interesting, That and it's like meeting new people, ...and its a whole lot easier too."
I couldn't help but notice how sad Ruby sounded at the end of her explanation. I felt my hand ball up into a fist as my blood began to boil. Who had hurt Ruby so bad? WHO?!
I instinctively pulled Ruby's hood over her face, causing her to yelp in surprise. As much as I hate to admit it, it make me feel a little better. That and Ruby's spirits seemed to have lifted a little.
"You know what you need sis?" I asked, hoping she would play along.
"What?"
I grinned wickedly, "To make some friends."
Ruby looked at me with a look of confusion on her face, "But why would I need friends when I have you?"
I fished around in my, I mean. Yang's pockets to find her scroll. I hadn't seen any of "Yang's friends" appear, so decide to make up a reason to separate from Ruby.
Simply meeting the non-existent friends somewhere else.
"Well my friends want to meet at the cafeteria. So I got to go. Bye." I said, while dragging Ruby's hood over her face again.
"Wait! Yang! Are we suppose to-" Ruby started, but I was long gone.
Hopefully she would okay on her own. I mean what is the worse that could happen?
...Then again, this was Ruby I was talking about. Still, it wouldn't be anything to bad ...I hope.
I sighed, as I walked into the cafeteria. I was alone with my thoughts as I wanted earlier, but I couldn't help but feel as if that was a mistake.
I was no closer to figuring out what happened to me, nor anything about my past.
As far as I was apparently concerned, I was "Yang Xiao Long". Or, at least someone who was suppose to be her.
I had her body, memories and personality. However, I couldn't help but feel that I shouldn't feel that way. I feel like I was trespassing on her life, which in a sense, I was.
But I couldn't help it! And it infuriated me!
...Why? Why!? WHY!?
"It doesn't make any sense" I yelled before I collided with someone.
...I swear the universe hates me or something. And when I saw who I had bumped into, that feeling grew even stronger.
I had ran into Ozpin. One of the last people I wanted to meet right now.
"I'm sorry." I said quickly, clearly embarrassed.
He merely chuckled as he maneuvered his cane so he would have a free hand, "Hello, miss..." he began.
"Yang Xiao Long." I replied, taking his hand while staring him in the eye.
"Miss Xiao Long." he concluded. He extended his hand holding a coffee mug, "I decided to come to the cafeteria to get some coffee before the "Welcome to Beacon" speech, but I couldn't help but overhear your out burst. Given that I am the headmaster of this prestigious academy, it's my duty to help my students if they need help. Even prospect ones."
He decided to take a sip from his mug. "So if there is anything I can do to help, let me know." He paused for a moment, "Well, I have a bit before I need to prepare for the speech, so I could help right now, if you are willing to ask for it that is."
I sighed silently. Ozpin probably suspected something was up, so lying to him wouldn't do me any favors. If anything, it would make him even more suspicious. But I didn't know how he would react if I decided to tell him the truth. And God forbid if he told Qrow about it!
I hung my head in resignation. I knew what I had to do, I just hoped that I wouldn't come to regret it.
