Izuku Midoriya was a normal kid. He liked to play, hang out with his best friend, and most of all, wanted to be a hero.

He lived in a world where around 80% of the world had unique powers that were called quirks. And with those quirks, many people became heroes, fighting off villains while also ensuring the safety of civilians. But out of all the heroes, there were none more famous than the number one hero in Japan, All Might.

All Might is considered to be the Symbol of Peace and is regarded as the greatest hero who ever lived. Practically everyone admired him, many even wanted to be a hero like him.

Izuku was no exception. Ever since his first time watching All Might in action, he was determined to become a hero who saved people with a smile. However, there were times where others talked down on his dream because of something out of his control.

His quirk

At a playground, a six year old boy with green unkempt hair was trembling with tears in his eyes. Behind him was another boy who was crying and curled up in a ball.

"You're being mean to him, Kacchan," the boy said, still trembling as he got into a fighting pose, "If you don't stop hurting him… I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!"

In front of him were three more boys, one had ash-blond hair, another was chubby and the last one had long brown hair.

"You really wanna try and be a hero?" The ash-blond smugly asked with a smirk as he punched his fist into his palm, generating an explosion.

Meanwhile, the two kids behind him did showed off their quirks as well. The chubby one grew wings while the boy with the long hair extended his fingers to completely abnormal lengths.

"As if you could ever be one without a Quirk, Deku." The ash-blond smugly said as he took a step forward.

The green haired boy stood his ground despite his trembling. This was Izuku Midoriya, and the boy with the ash-blond hair was Kakatsuki Bakugou, his former best friend.

The mothers of the two boys are best friends, meaning that the two of them practically grew up together. Their friendship was so strong that they seemed inseparable. However that all changed when Katatsuki developed his quirk.

Kakatsuki Bakugou, Quirk: Explosion. He can produce nitroglycerin-like sweat from his hands that he can detonate at will.

Kakatsuki's personality changed from being rather calm to explosive like his quirk. He liked to demonstrate his superiority while talking down on others he deemed inferior. Unfortunately, Izuku was one of those he deemed inferior.

When Izuku was four, his mother had taken him to a quirk doctor to see what quirk he would develop. Fortunately, the doctor did confirm that Izuku would develop a quirk. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to determine what his quirk would be. All he was able to say was that Izuku had to be patient and that his quirk would manifest eventually.

However, with two whole years passing with Izuku's quirk showing no signs of appearing, Kakatsuki had begun to belittle him. He would tease him by saying that the doctor probably lied to him and that he was actually quirkless, which meant he was useless, thus leading to the nickname Deku.

Izuku was deeply saddened by all of this. He would always argue that Kakatsuki was wrong and that his quirk would appear one day and that it would be strong like his.

However, one thing Izuku never shared anyone was that he felt a small bit of anger and frustration whenever Kakatsuki would talk down on him. It was small at first, just something in the back of his head that he would shake away. Thinking it was a spur of the moment since Kakatsuki particularly angry that day. But as the year went on, it grew more and more. It was still in the back of his head, but it was becoming harder and harder to shake away, and he feared one day he would unintentionally release it.

Currently, Izuku was intimidated by Kakatsuki and the other two boys behind him, but in the back of his mind, was a flood of anger, bubbling up more and more as time passed and becoming harder to hold back.

"You keep saying that your quirk will appear one day Deku, but I think that's a load of crap." Kakatsuki said as he took another step, "It's about time I put you in your place!"

With that, Kakatsuki rushed forward and punched Izuku in the stomach, making the boy let out a gasp.

However, that punch did more than just knock the air out of Izuku. It broke the mental barrier that was holding back his anger, and that anger flooded his mind in an instant.

Not long after the punch landed, Izuku grabbed Kakatsuki by the shoulders and pushed him away, making the boy crash into the other two boys.

Recovering from the shove, Kakatsuki was about to yell Izuku but stopped and stared in both shock and slight fear at what was happening to the other boy.

Dark sparks were appearing around Izuku's body as he stood there, his head down low enough that a shadow hid his eyes. He let out a growl that seemed to be louder as time went on. The dark sparks became stronger and much more frequent as him growling grew in volume.

Suddenly, without warning, Izuku let out a loud yell towards the sky as a dark aura suddenly appeared around his body, the dark sparks arcing around him.

Kakatsuki has never been so scared in his life. The dark aura was suffocating the yell Izuku was letting out, it sounded a bit deeper than it should be.

After a few more moments, Izuku stopped screaming and looked towards Kakatsuki, and what the other boy away scared him even more. Izuku's hair changed from it's normal green to pitch black, and his eyes were glowing pure blood red, it felt like they were glaring right at his soul.

Izuku let out a feral growled as he took a step forward, his foot cracking the ground upon contact. He was about to take another step forward, but the dark energy suddenly dissipated, disappearing without a trace.

Suddenly feeling weak, Izuku fell face first to the ground, his consciousness quickly slipping away. The last thing he heard was some frantic footsteps moving away from him.

The first thing Izuku heard when he regained consciousness was a steady beeping. Opening his eyes he found himself in an unfamiliar white room that had medical equipment in it.

Realizing he was in a hospital, he was about to take a better look around the room before suddenly hearing a door open.

Looking towards the door, he saw a nurse come in with his mother, Inko Midoriya, right behind.

Spotting her now conscious son, Inko instant made her way towards him and tightly hugged him.

"My baby!" Inko exclaimed, "You're finally awake!"

"'Finally?'" Izuku asked, "How long was I out?"

"Oh Izuku, I was soon scared." Inko said, tears forming in her eyes, "You were unconscious for a week."

"A week?!" Izuku exclaimed in shock, "But the last thing I remembered was-"

That's when it hit him, after all of this time, he finally developed his quirk.

"...My quirk..." Izuku softly said, tears forming in his eyes, "...My quirk finally appeared!"

Izuku suddenly hugged him mother, tears of joy flowing down his face.

"I'll give you two a moment." The nurse spoke up beforeturningtowards Inko, "I'll bring the doctor so that he may check your on your son."

With that, the nurse exited the room, leaving the two Midoriyas hugging each other with pure joy.

'I have a quirk.' Izuku happily thought, 'I can finally follow my dream of becoming a hero!'

Two days later, Izuku was making his way towards his classroom with high hopes. Now that he had a quirk, he hoped that his classes would be nicer to him and that he could rekindle his friendship with Kakatsuki.

Coming up to the door, he heard his classmates talking on the other side. Talking a deep reassuring breath before opening the door.

Upon entering the classroom, Izuku noticed two things. One, everyone stopped talking and looked at him. Two, the atmosphere of the class changed from from cheery to uncomfortable.

Looking around, Izuku noticed that his classmates were looking at him with looks of nervousness and fear. Confused Izuku made his way towards Kakatsuki, who sat at the back of the room.

"Hey Kacchan, what's going on?" Izuku asked, "Why is everyone-"

Izuku's speech was cut short by an explosion that knocked him off his feet and made him land on his back.

Looking up towards Kakatsuki, Izuku saw that the ash-blond was looking down at him with pure hate in his eyes.

"STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU DAMN VILLAIN!" Kakatsuki yelled loudly.

Hearing those words completely devastated Izuku. It was then that he realized two things. One, was his quirk made others fear him. The other was that he may never be friends with Kakatsuki ever again.
