"I draw a card.", Nikkari said.

"The effect of Goyo Emperor activates. When this monster destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the graveyard it is special summoned to our side. Supreme Monarch's Domination.", Steve said.

"Fuck. Of course it has a similar effect except he can actually attack with that monster this turn.", Nanashi said.

"Oh no! Watch out guys!", Asahi warned.

"I attack Terrorking Salmon with Perfect Machine King.", Steve declared.

Nikkari and Manabu LP 5200 - 200 = 5000

"The effect of Goyo Emperor activates when a monster I control destroys a monster by battle. I can special summon that monster to my side. Supreme Monarch's Authority.", Steve 2 said as the Hunters gasped.

"That's fucking broken!", Manabu complained.

"His monster zone is full now though so he can't activate the effect for the rest of this turn.", Nikkari pointed out.

"Still…", Manabu grumbled.

"I attack Machina Sniper with Terrorking Salmon.", Steve 2 declared.

Nikkari and Manabu LP 5000 - 700 = 4300

"Then, I will attack Machina Soldier with Comrade Swordsman of Landstar.", Steve 2 declared.

Nikkari and Manabu LP 4300 - 100 = 4200

"This is fucking ridiculous. That one monster cleared our entire field!", Manabu said.

"I tune Comrade Swordsman of Landstar with Terrorking Salmon to synchro summon. Level 8. Colossal Fighter.", Steve 2 said.

"You're joking…", Asahi said as she paled.

"I will set a card facedown and end my turn.", Steve 2 said.

"If Nikkari doesn't have something real good him and Manabu are fucked.", Nanashi thought.

"I activate Hammer Shot. It destroys the strongest monster on the field. That means your Goyo Emperor is toast.", Nikkari said as the others cheered though Nanashi remained quiet though he was relieved.

Colossal Fighter ATK 4200 100 = 4300

They looked surprised as Perfect Machine King returned to their control.

"When Goyo Emperor is destroyed the monsters it took return to its owners.", Steve 2 explained.

"That's good! I summon another Machina Gearframe allowing me to add a Machina monster to my hand. I choose another Machina Fortress. I will special summon it using its effect.", Nikkari said, discarding Machina Defender and Commander Covington.

"I will equip my Machina Fortress with Machina Gearframe.", Nikkari said as Nanashi grimaced.

Perfect Machine King ATK 2700 500 = 3200

"That won't be enough…", Nanashi murmured.

"But Goyo Emperor is gone.", Asahi replied.

"Even still those guys still have Colossal Fighter who is both stronger than Machina Fortress and Machine King.", Nanashi pointed out.

"Then what are they going to do?!", Asahi questioned worriedly.

"I don't know…", Nanashi replied.

"Don't worry we'll protect you kids.", Manabu assured them drawing their attention.

"I attack Battle Fader with Machina Fortress.", Nikkari declared.

Colossal Fighter ATK 4300 - 800 = 3500

"That will not save you. Your resistance is futile, Unclean Ones.", Steve said.

"We'll see about that. I will set Perfect Machine King to defense mode and I end my turn.", Nikkari replied.

"I draw.", Steve said.

"I attack Machina Fortress with Colossal Fighter.", Steve declared.

Nikkari and Manabu LP 4200 - 1700 = 2500

"I activate the effect of Gearframe destroying it to save Fortress. Since, Gearframe was destroyed I can draw a card.", Nikkari said.

"I end my turn.", Steve said.

"Shit. They still hit crazy hard.", Nikkari cursed.

"Intrusion penalty! 2000 damage!", they heard Burroughs say as the Hunters looked pale.

With Jonathan and Isabeau…

"As if I would ever join scoundrels like you!", Jonathan replied.

"Now, don't be like that. We can pay you so much doe! Using these guys through mediums is a pain.", Asura Kai member 3 said.

Asura Kai member 2 studied their marks.

"Yeah, these guys are the signers for Power Tool Dragon and Black Rose Dragon. How about 70k macca starting salary? 100k macca for the babe since Black Rose Dragon is much more of a bitch to deal with.", Asura Kai member 2 bargained as the two Samurai sweat dropped.

"Wait…he could identify our signer dragons based on our marks? I suppose that's why each of our marks differs to denote which dragon were supposed to possess.", Isabeau said.

"Looks like the quest is going well.", Burroughs said as she updated their signer dragon quest info.

"Hmm…", Jonathan said as he got in front.

"Well, you considering it dude?", Asura Kai member 3 said as Jonathan looked over to Power Tool Dragon.

"Let's duel. If I win I will take Power Tool Dragon. If you win I'll join the Asura Kai no questions asked for free.", Jonathan offered.

The Asura Kai members huddled together whispering.

"Can we afford to risk losing this thing? Tayama would probably kill us.", Asura Kai member 1 whispered.

"He'll be super ecstatic if we can win and get a signer to bring out the true power of Power Tool Dragon though. We could get a promotion.", Asura Kai member 3 whispered.

"Yeah, and if we can make a similar deal with the girl we can fully control Black Rose Dragon, that's two signers. We'll be set for life! You need to take some risks in life to get results.", Asura Kai member 2 whispered.

"Who will duel him then?", Asura Kai member 1 whispered.

"I will. If I lose you can blame me.", Asura Kai member 2 said as he put his fist against his chest.

"Hehe. Always the gambler aren't you, Pietro? How noble of you. It's set then.", Asura Kai member 3 whispered.

"You better make sure to win, Jonathan. You boys always make the craziest bets.", Isabeau said as the Asura Kai members faced them.

"On my honor as a Samurai I won't lose.", Jonathan replied.

"We'll see about that. You'll be dueling me, curly.", Pietro said as he activated his duel disk.

He held up a strange golden metal relic and Power Tool Dragon disappeared, turning into its card. Pietro put the card in his extra deck slot.

"Duel.", Jonathan said as he did the same, confusing the Asura Kai members.

Burroughs activated the coin toss function.

"Haha! Wonderful! I activate Polymerization to fuse my Time Wizard with King of the Swamp! I fusion summon Thousand Dragon!", Pietro said.

"I draw!", Jonathan said, seeming more serious than his opponent.

"Gosh. You so stiff Mr.Man on a mission. Just relax.", Pietro said as Jonathan.

"Of course I'm serious. There's some very serious stakes here.", Jonathan replied.

"That just makes the duel much more exciting. Do you not like spice in your life, curly?", Pietro questioned.

"Spice…? Wait…no. No. You're distracting me. I activate Charge of the Light Brigade. I can send the top three cards of my deck to the graveyard to add a Lightsworn monster to my hand. I choose Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn.", Jonathan said.

Jonathan's cards sent were: Card Trooper, Hand Destruction and Jenis, the Lightsworn Mender.

"This Asura Kai member seems more…eccentric than the other ones we encountered.", Isabeau commented.

"That's how Pietro's always been. He's a weird one.", Asura Kai member 3 said.

"It matters not. I summon Raiden.", Jonathan said.

"Then I activate his effect to send the top two cards of my deck to the graveyard.", Jonathan said.

The cards sent were: Solemn Wishes and Wulf, Lightsworn Beast.

"I activate the effect of Wulf. When he's sent from the deck to the graveyard I can special summon him.", Jonathan said as Pietro whistled.

"Never seen a deck like this before. How interesting.", Pietro commented.

"I will set two cards facedown. Then I'll tune Raiden with Wulf! Holy dragon from the heavenly skies! Bless us with your light of salvation! Level 8! Light End Dragon!", Jonathan said.

"Then I will attack your Thousand Dragon with Light End Dragon! Meggido Rain! I will activate its effect making it lose 500 attack in exchange for your monster lose 1500 attack till the end phase.", Jonathan declared.

Light End Dragon ATK 2600 - 500 = 2100

Thousand Dragon ATK 2500 - 1500 = 1000

"I activate my trap Fairy Box!", Pietro countered.

Effect: When your opponent's monster declares an attack: Toss a coin and call it. If you call it right, the attacking monster's ATK becomes 0 until the end of the Battle Phase. During each of your Standby Phases, pay 500 Life Points or destroy this card.

"When my opponent declares an attack I can flip a coin and call it. If I'm right your monster's attack becomes 0 till the end of the battle phase.", Pietro explained.

"How odd. I suppose I'll let Burroughs handle it. What will you call?", Jonathan replied.

"Heads, curly.", Pietro replied.

"Simulating coin toss…Heads.", Burroughs said as Jonathan rubbed his head in annoyance.

"Haha! The goddess of luck is on my side!", Pietro said.

Light End Dragon ATK 2100 - 0

Jonathan LP 4000 - 1000 = 3000

Jonathan flinched as he could feel Isabeau staring at him judgingly.

"What nonsense…", Jonathan murmured.

"I activate Monster Reborn to resurrect Raiden in defense mode. Then I end my turn.", Jonathan said.

"I really need to step it up. I barely won that last duel by a thread. I feel like I haven't improved at all since becoming a Samurai. Even with Flynn's advice while I did patch up a big flaw that's all.", Jonathan thought as he clenched his fist.

Isabeau noticed his signer mark reacting even more. She could hear the low machine-like roar of a dragon.

"The dragon's reacting to Jonathan.", Isabeau thought.

"Raiden's effect activates sending the top two cards of my deck to the graveyard..", Jonathan said.

The cards sent were: Thunder King Rai-Oh and Foolish Burial.

"You really are mopey! I draw!", Pietro said.

"To keep Fairy Box around I must pay 500 life points. I activate my continuous spell Dangerous Machine Type-6.", Pietro said.

"Then I attack Raiden with Thousand Dragon!", Pietro declared.

"I activate my trap Lightsworn Barrier. When I Lightsworn monster I control is targeted for an attack I can send two cards from the top of my deck to the graveyard and negate the attack.", Jonathan countered.

"Oh ho! I see you have a similar trap too! I will end my turn.", Pietro replied.

Jonathan's mind suddenly thought back to something he heard before.

"You're pathetic. How can you expect to beat me when you're so predictable?"

"I have this feeling that with Power Tool Dragon surely new possibilities will emerge.", Jonathan thought.

"I draw!", Jonathan said as a visible wind kicked up making the Asura Kai members confused.

"Jonathan is really taking this extremely seriously.", Isabeau thought.

"I activate the effect of Raiden to send two cards from the top of my deck to the graveyard.", Jonathan said.

Jonathan sent: Different Dimension Dragon and Wulf, Lightsworn Beast.

"Ah! Not another one!", Asura Kai member 1 complained.

"I activate the effect of Wulf, special summoning it. Then I will summon Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress. I can change her to defense mode to destroy your Fairy Box.", Jonathan said.

"I attack your monster with Wulf!", Jonathan declared.

"Have you lost it man? You can't win!", Pietro said.

"That would be the case if I didn't have an angel's blessing! I activate the effect of Honest! I can discard it to have a light monster I control gain the attack points of your monster!", Jonathan explained.

"Mama mia!", Pietro screamed.

An angel appeared behind beast singing creating a light aura around beast bolstering its strength.

"Then, I'll attack you directly with Raiden!", Jonathan declared.

"I activate my continuous trap Call of the Haunted to resurrect Thousand Dragon in attack mode.", Pietro countered.

Jonathan grimaced his fists shaking.

"I missed it again! Just like last time!", Jonathan thought.

"I end my turn…", Jonathan said as Isabeau now grew concerned.

She recognized such discontent in Walter.

"Whew! That was too close for me! I draw!", Pietro replied, sweating profusely.

"My continuous spell activates! I can roll a dice and depending on what it lands on an effect activates!", Pietro said.

"Simulating dice…4.", Burroughs said as Pietro gaped then awkwardly coughed.

"You draw a card.", Pietro said.

"You're too kind.", Jonathan replied.

Jonathan

"Oh well…I will attack your Wulf with Thousand Dragon!", Pietro declared.

"I activate Mirror Force destroying all your attack position monsters.", Jonathan countered.

"W-what?! You were holding onto that…Ooh…Ah Hah! I summon Time Wizard.", Pietro replied.

(SPELLCASTER/LIGHT/EFFECT/ ATK 500/ DEF 400/ LV2) Effect: Once per turn: You can toss a coin and call it. If you call it right, destroy all monsters your opponent controls. If you call it wrong, destroy as many monsters you control as possible, and if you do, take damage equal to half the total ATK those destroyed monsters had while face-up on the field.

"I call a coin then if I'm right all your monsters are destroyed and you take damage equal to half their attack. If I'm wrong my monsters are destroyed and I take damage.", Pietro explained.

"That's quite the gamble.", Isabeau commented.

Jonathan furrowed his eyebrows.

"I'm betting everything on heads!", Pietro declared.

"Simulating coin toss…", Burroughs said as Pietro and the other Asura Kai sweated.

"Heads.", Burroughs said as Jonathan face palmed.

"This is going to hurt…", Jonathan said.

The dial on Time Wizard spun rapidly as it waved its wand. Jonathan's monsters aged so much they turned into bone then crumbled into dust.

"I end my turn.", Pietro said.

"I draw!"; Jonathan said.

"I summon Jain, Lightsworn Paladin.", Jonathan said.

"Jain attack Time Wizard and end this duel! Jain gains 300 attack during the battle phase!", Jonathan declared.

"Fuck…", Pietro cursed.

"Damn that was fast…You're strong for your age. Well…a deal is a deal.", Pietro said, before handing over Power Tool Dragon to Jonathan.

"The quest is going well.", Burroughs said, cheerfully.

"Thank you.", Jonathan replied, politely bowing his head lightly.

"Maybe those guys aren't all bad.", Jonathan thought as they scrambled away with the other two yelling at Pietro.

Jonathan looked down at the first signer dragon to be recovered by the Samurai, his very own.

Power Tool Dragon

(MACHINE/EARTH/SYNCHRO/EFFECT/ ATK 2300/ DEF 2500/ LV7)

Effect: Once per turn: You can reveal 3 Equip Spells from your Deck, then your opponent randomly adds 1 of them to your hand, and shuffle the other cards into the Deck. If this card would be destroyed while equipped with an Equip Spell(s), you can send 1 of those cards to the GY instead.

"Equip cards? What a strange effect though it could be…", Jonathan thought as his eyes widened.

A new strategy suddenly came to his mind as he thought of all the extra cards he owned.

"Hehe. Are you ready going to rebuild your deck now? This isn't exactly the situation for that.", Isabeau said.

"I know but…", Jonathan said as he looked down at the signer dragon.

He was stunned when his signer mark pulsed and a second card appeared in his hand.

Life Stream Dragon

(DRAGON/EARTH/SYNCHRO/TUNER/EFFECT/ ATK 2900/ DEF 2400/ LV8)

1 Tuner "Power Tool Dragon"

Effect: When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can make your LP become 4000. You take no effect damage. If this face-up card on the field would be destroyed, you can banish 1 Equip Spell Card from your Graveyard instead.

"Did you just get two dragons for the price of one?", Isabeau questioned as Jonathan looked over the two cards stunned.

Their signer marks finally calmed down and stopped glowing.

"Woah…I guess I did. To really get full use out of these guys I have to make adjustments to my deck. Don't worry I'm not completely overhauling it. It will always be Lightsworn.", Jonathan replied, jokingly as he rubbed the back of his head.

Jonathan and Isabeau sat down as Jonathan messed around in his deck only changing a few cards to avoid completely changing it. Isabeau smiled when she noticed the colorful happy aura around Jonathan's signer dragon. It seems much more happy now to be where it belongs.

"Wait…Lightsworns have an equip card?", Isabeau questioned as she looked at the cards laid out.

"You didn't know?", Jonathan questioned.

Isabeau shook her head genuinely surprised.

"Power Tool Dragon gives me a good reason to run it. It's actually rather convenient.", Jonathan replied.

Finally some good food for my precious Jonathan. Been neglecting him too much so I gave him an upgrade. All I'll say is that he won't be the only one.
