Author's Note: Hey folks, sorry for the long wait had some technical problems and coupled with more headaches from the real world, but despite that we managed to finish this also loved the fact that you guys like having Kong is in this story.

Oh, I almost forgot to give out a proper description of his appearance. Now body wise he looks like the Legendary King Kong from Godzilla vs Kong, the blue color of his fur is an homage to 2000's Kong the Animated series, and he of course has the show Kong's lightning powers, but I could not decided, on a roar for him so you guys can pick which version of Kong's roar for this one.

Now with that out of the way let us get started huh?

Chapter 11: The Tale.

Kong's roar echoed across the whole island, awakening all the birds and beasts that lay asleep. Even the Elias stepped out of their homes once they heard the thunder guardian.

Many of the Marley soldiers stumbled with their riffles at the ready. Nelson smirked as he took out a cigar and lit it. His plan was nearly complete. All that's left is for the creature to show itself and then have the Beast Titan take it out.

Zeke stood on top of the Elder Wall awaiting the moment for this 'Thunder Guardian' to reveal itself. He made sure to command the Titans to lure the Kaiju near the wall.

As the Beast Titan continued observing the jungle, a flash of light appeared and vanished at once, then another roar echoed and sounds of tearing flesh.

"No doubt the target is making quick work of the Titans," Zeke thought. "A pity, I thought with their enhancements they'd stand some chance against a-"

But his thoughts were interrupted as an object came hurtling from the canopy towards him. Thinking quickly Zeke managed to catch the thing but failed to notice another hurtling towards him, knocking him backwards off the wall.

"LOOK OUT!" cried one of the soldiers.

The rest cleared away as the Beast Titan landed hard on the ground.

Zeke stood up to look at the object that knocked him down. It turned out to be a leg of one of the Titans. Then he looked at the thing in his hand; it was a severed head of a Titan…and it was starting to heal.

Before he could send the Titan's healing body back over, Kong's roar echoed again as more body parts launched over the Elder Wall, knocking chunks loose from the structure.

From loosened pegs to a giant hole, the ancient monument to the past was defiled by the assault.

As Sargent Cook gave orders to his men to move out of the way of healing abnormal Titans, Marcus carefully looked out the large hole for any sign of Dayo.

But instead of her, a pair of glowing eyes greeted him in the dark. Marcus stumbled backwards as they drew near.

He grabbed hold of his riffle and took aim as the Komodithrax emerged from the opening in the ancient wall.

"MONSTER BREACH!" Niccolo screamed.

Marcus and Niccolo quickly moved away from the hole as the Komodithrax entered in and made a bee line for the Beast Titan.

Zeke saw the kaiju advancing and tossed the regenerating head at it, only for the Komodo dragon to knock it back with its tail.

'Clever beast.' Zeke thought as he stood up.

The reptile quickly slammed into him.

'Damn it!' Nelson cursed.

This wasn't what he was expecting to come. His further thoughts were interrupted as Cook shouted to the soldiers up on the walls.

"What the hell is wrong with you, are you asleep?! Get those cannons ready to fire and blast that lizard ap-"

But the Sargent was interrupted as Nelson grabbed him by the shirt.

"Are you a fool, Cook?" Nelson shouted. "Do that and you'll risk hitting one of Marley's important weapons. If you want to shoot at anything, shoot the Titans!"

Just then, more severed Titan parts were tossed from the jungle to the base, one of them hitting parts of the Elias Designated Zones and also destroying one of the wall mounted cannons.

Nelson snarled at this.

"YOU TWO!" He pointed at Marcus and Niccolo,"FIND YEAGER'S TWO FREAKS AND GET THEIR ASSESS OUT HERE NOW!"

"Yes sir!" Niccolo saluted. "Come on Marcus!"

Marcus followed him but not before taking one last look at the hole, feeling great concern over Dayo's safety.

'Dayo, be careful.'

Meanwhile, behind the Elder Wall...

Wave after wave of Titans attacked Kong, each becoming torn to shreds in his massive hands. It became an endless pattern of grappling, tearing, and tossing the remains into the distance.

The women watched from behind a huge tree root, safe from the horde.

"You're Thunder Guardian won't last long," Lora said concerned.

"Have faith," Dayo said. "His strength is limitless."

"But his stamina isn't!" Lora said. "Titans can regenerate. Half of the ones he's defeated are already up and fighting again. They'll wear him out soon!"

Dayo took another look at the fight. Lora had a point. She saw some of Kong's victims growing limbs back, as well as the ape beginning to slow down. All he could do was damage them. Titans don't tire, be he can. Already his attackers managed to get a few scratches and bites in his flesh.

They were sure to overwhelm him soon.

'Thunder Guardian!' Dayo yelled telepathically, 'they heal quickly and you're outnumbered! You must think of another way or they will kill you!'

Kong heard her. Thinking while he beat them back, his mind filled with ideas.

He stopped fighting entirely and fell to his knees. Slowly, they advanced, crawling all over him until forming a colossal heap of Titan bodies.

"No, no!" Dayo cried out, "Don't give up! We need you!"

Suddenly, bolts of electricity shot out of Kong's body. The Titans were caught in the current. Their flesh burned, some to ash.

Kong rose up from the pile of bodies, exhausted.

"You are ok!" Dayo said.

Covered in blood and soot Kong stumbled over to the two of them, placing his hand on the ground in front of them.

"I take it we're supposed to ride in his hand?" Lora asked.

"Appears so," Dayo replied.

They climbed into the great palm, bracing themselves for the predictable moment when the gorilla raised up his hand and made his way into the jungle.

Meanwhile...

As the attack within the base was going on, just outside, Eren and company hid behind trees.

The group could hear the sounds of the attack: the roar of a kaiju and Beast Titan, as well as the sound structures crumbling within.

"Must be quite the party going on," Randy remarked.

Then they spotted something coming down and destroyed part of the wall that faced them.

"A wild party."

"Look, a Titan arm," Jean pointed. "Those bastards must have brought more than just Zeke with them."

The group nodded except for Moll as she kept staring at the base. Sanda noticed this and touched her shoulder.

"M-m-moll, is L-l-Lora i-in there?"

But instead of answering him Moll quickly sprinted towards the base.

"MOLL!" Sanda shouted.

This alerted the group as they saw Moll pass the severed Titan arm and moving towards the entrance.

"Come on, let's go!" Eren shouted as he and Sanda took off after her.

"Eren!" Armin shouted as he and Mikassa followed.

"Dammit, this is no time to run off into danger!...oh who am I kidding?" Jean sighed in annoyance and ran after them.

"Man, these guys are so cool and crazy all rolled into one," Randy remarked following too.

"Damn it!" Nelson cursed, "MEN, DO SOMETHING USEFUL!"

But Nelson's cries were deafened by the conflict between The Beast Titan and Komodithrax.

Despite his Titan form's strength it was nearly difficult to keep the Kaiju's jaws from biting him. Just as he was about to use more of his brute force to break the jaw, a blue flame erupted from the maw of the monitor lizard, scorching his fur and Titan skin.

'What is this thing, the same species as Godzilla?' Zeke thought, trying to strive through the flames. 'And where are those two idiots when I need them?!'

While this chaos was happening, no one took notice of the intruders that have arrived near the large hole of the Elder Wall.

While Eren, Sanda and the others took notice of Zeke and the Kaiju Moll kept her sights at the damaged wall. She started sprinting through it as if some unseen force was driving her.

"Damn it, Moll!" Jean shouted as he and Sanda followed Moll.

"And here I thought I was going to see some action," Randy remarked.

He followed the others, Mikasa and Armin were about to join them when they noticed Eren looking only at Zeke's raising form.

Zeke glared at Komodithrax as it shook its head. Having had enough of this troublesome creature, Zeke started to raise his hand but froze as he spotted something that he thought would never be on this island.

Eren, his half-brother.

"Eren, come on!" Armin shouted, snapping Eren back to his senses.

Eren followed his friends through the hole.

Before Zeke could act the Komodithrax whipped its tail at his chest, knocking the Beast Titan down. Deciding instead to continue to try and feast on this creature, the kaiju choose instead to take a mouthful of the smaller Titans and escape.

"YEAGER!" Nelson shouted. "GET THESE TITAN'S ACT TOGETHER!"

The Beast Titan stood back up and let out a shout, thus commanding the remaining loose Titans to cease their attack, just as Gabara and Gaira came running with Marcus, Niccolo, Yelena, and Onyankopon behind them.

"Are we too late?" Onyankopon asked.

"What do you think?" Yelena replied observing the damages done in such a short time.

Some of the cannons on top of the walls were destroyed. Signs of people (both Marley and Elias) crushed under either bricks, Titan flesh, or monster feet.

"Goody," Gaira licked his lips. "Tenderized meat."

Gabara walked up to Nelson and Cook and gave a sarcastic remark.

"Did we miss the action, sir?"

Cook glared at him.

"YOU MISERABLE FREAKS! WHERE THE HELL WHERE-"

Commander Nelson raised his hand to silence Cook and glared at Gabara.

"From now on, you two are going to stick by Yeager's side at all times. I don't care if you may be our best weapons! Mark my words I will kill you with my own hands if you don't obey!"

"An excellent choice, sir!"

Everyone looked up as Zeke emerged from the back of the Beast Titan's nape.

"Because right now I need those two and the rest of the Eldians we have."

Nelson raised an eyebrow.

"Are you going after the target?"

Zeke adjusted his glasses as his eyes looked with determination.

"That, and Eren Yeager is on this island."

Finally, Moll stopped as the rest of the search party manage to catch up.

"So...think we're far enough from the bad guys yet?" Randy said sarcastically, noticing they were deep in the jungle.

But Moll didn't take any notice as she kept turning her head left and right, searching for any sign of Lora.

"M-M-Moll," Sanda said, "Are y-y-you ok?"

"Obviously she's not!" Jean shouted. "What were you thinking? You charged right into an enemy base! We're lucky that there was a kaiju attack otherwise you would've gotten us all killed!"

"Jean's right," Armin agreed. "We've got to be carefully, who knows what's on this island."

"My sister, that's who we know is on this island!" Moll argued.

"Kay. But do you know where she is right this second?" Randy asked.

Before Moll could answer Mikasa pulled out her blades. Before anyone could ask, she pointed silently ahead of them, indicating that she saw something.

The group stayed close and observe not only the front but all their surroundings. Soon enough Mikasa let out a cough, alerting them of something in the trees.

Eren glared at her, wondering if she was seeing things. Mikasa was aware of his skepticism. She lifted her sword upwards, slowly, towards the full moon.

It took Eren a short moment to realize what she meant. Looking closely, he noticed a small part of the moon's edge was off, as if it was sliding off from the whole.

Carefully, he placed his hand over the button on his 3D Gear. Eren activated the device, launching the grappler towards the anomaly.

The hook stopped midair, causing the near invisible creature to reveal itself as the metal embedded into its flesh.

It was a giant chameleon atop the canopy. It hissed, a trio of horns adorning its head.

The creature's large eyes stared directly at the group. Moll walked in front of the group and closed her eyes to use her telepathic abilities on the creature.

'Please, we mean no harm.'

Moll repeated the message towards the Chameleon, but as she tried to speak to it, she opened her eyes in suspense.

"It won't listen!"

Then the creature started to opened its mouth.

"MOVE!" Mikasa cried out.

The others dodged in different directions as the Chameleon's tongue launched at them, but only managed to it the ground.

Mikasa, Armin, and Jean both activated their 3D Gears and latched onto the tops of the trees. Sanda, not wasting any time, bit down on his hand and triggered his transformation.

Eren rocketed himself towards the monster, slashing at its face.

At the same time, Randy quickly moved himself out of the way and out of sight of the Giant Chameleon, with Moll who was still shocked over her powers not working on this kaiju.

Sanda roared at the Chameleon, but instead of running away, the giant reptilian raised its head and shot is tongue at Sanda, wrapping it around his left arm. Just as Sanda was about to rip it off him a second tongue from behind wrapped around his leg. Another from his right wrapped around his other arm. Soon the cause of these attacks revealed themselves to be two more Giant Chameleons.

"Hey, no fair! Three against one is a total dick move!" Randy shouted from behind the tree.

Eren, landing back on the ground, was about to bite his own hand to fight alongside Sanda but he paused and looked at Mikasa.

'If I transform, would Mikasa have her panic attack again?' he thought.

She seemed to be doing well since they got here, but who's to say she won't react again.

So instead Eren used his 3D Gear and launched towards the first Chameleon again and used his blades to slash at the tongue. Sadly, it proved to be too thick to cut all the way, but managed to leave cuts deep enough to cause it to release its hold on Sanda.

Soon Armin, Mikasa, and Jean joined up and started slashing the tongues on the other two. Moll managed to snap out of it and activated her 3D gear and join her teammates.

"Man, I really need to know how to use those things," Randy awed at the scene.

Freed from the three Giant Chameleons, Sanda was about to charge at the first one, but then to his surprise the three horns of the 1st Chameleon ejected from the head, piercing both his shoulders and chest.

"Ok, that was just silly," Randy remarked on that attack.

The other two Chameleons ignored their small attackers and turned to Sanda on his knees. They uncurled their tails and whipped them at Sanda behind his back, knocking him down.

"Eren, now would be a good time to change!" Jean shouted.

Eren knew this but still hesitated while glancing at Mikasa.

"Sanda!" Moll cried.

She was going to try and assist him but then paused as she felt a presence close by.

At the same time the 1st Chameleon's horns started to grow back. It started to uncurl its tail as it made its way towards Sanda, but then it stopped and was quickly pulled into the jungle.

All stood still after that, then came the sound of a loud crack, then footsteps.

Kong stepped out into view while holding the Chameleon's limp body by the throat.

"My god," Armin looked at the sight of this kaiju.

"That thing is as big as Godzilla," Jean said.

"I hope that big guy is friendly," Randy gulped.

The two Chameleons looked at Kong, and he looked at them. He started beating his chest with his free arm and roared at the two, causing them to crawl backwards with lowered heads.

Kong scoffed at the retreating reptiles as the slowly made a break for it into the forest. He turned his gaze towards the group, but his expression changed when he set his sights on the Brown Gargantua shifter.

Sanda pulled out the horn from his chest and looked at Kong, ready for an attack. But Kong was just looking at him, almost studying him with childlike eyes. He dropped the corpse as he approached. Kong's expression went from curiosity to awe.

After all this time, could it really be...?

"What now?" Eren asked as he and others latched onto one of the trees.

"It's not attacking us," Armin said.

"Yet," Jean added.

Seeing the new kaiju not attacking him yet, Sanda carefully pulled the last two horns out of his shoulders, but kept them on hand should he need weapons.

Kong watched in awe as Sanda's wounds started to heal, then he took a step forward. He saw Sanda wince at this and paused.

Kong then slowly raised his arm, stopping for a moment, then brushed his index finger across Sanda's face. He had to know what he was seeing was real.

Realizing the figure before him was indeed real, he placed both hands on Sanda's confused head and hooted excitedly.

Kong looked around frantically, then noticed the body of the giant chameleon. He rushed over towards it and with a hefty pull yanked its head from the body.

Sanda, now completely paralyzed in fear, watched as the ape came back to him, both arms outstretched. The Titan Shifter just stared at the still bleeding head in Kong's hairy hands, confused about what to do.

After a bit of a pause Kong slowly raised the Chameleon's head up to his mouth and bit into it like an apple, slowly, as if to show his newfound friend what to do with it. He offered the head to Sanda again, pushing it closer to him this time.

"What's happening?" Jean asked, confused over what was happening.

"Looks like a peace offering," Mikasa guessed.

"MOLL!"

Moll immediately recognized her sister's voice as she managed to spot her running out of the jungle and pass Kong's left foot. Moll activated her gear and jumped from the tree to land right in front of Lora and gave her a huge hug.

The group were worried that the sisters had completely forgot about the giant gorilla that they are right next to, but the giant ape's attention was mainly focused on Sanda's Titan form.

"Are you alright?" Moll looked over Lora.

Lora smiled. "Yes I'm fine, a bit of sea water in my mouth but I'm ok.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Moll, I'm fine."

"Ah, good."

SMACK!

"OW!" Lora cried in pain.

"THEN STOP MAKING ME WORRY!"

"DON'T BLAME ME," Lora shouted back. "I DIDN'T PLAN ON BEING SWEPT BY THE OCEAN AND CARRIED TO THIS ISLAND YOU KNOW!"

"WELL, IF YOU HAD STAYED ON THE GOTENGO LIKE I SAID, THAT WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED!"

As they argued Sanda felt that since Kong was not attacking it was safe to emerge from his Titan body. As his Titan body kneeled down he started to emerge. This action caused Kong to move back in surprise.

The newly emerged Sanda used his gear to jump down from the body and flinched as Kong knelt down over the now empty Gargantua Titan.

He held onto the Titan corpse, his face seeped in panic. As the body began to disintegrate, he touched its lifeless face, trying to figure out what was wrong with his newfound friend. Eventually, his panic turned to dread.

But it was too late. The Titan was gone.

All Kong could see were his own palms.

His hope died just as quickly as it came, leaving him to stare down on the ground he knelt on, wondering if any of it was actually real.

Sanda saw the forlorn look on the primate's face. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor thing.

He was trying to walk up to the animal but Kong picked himself up and went into the brush.

He needed to be alone, just like he was used to.

"The Thunder Guardian is just upset," Dayo said with a hand on his shoulder. "He means no harm."

"The Thunder Guardian?" Armin asked.

Dayo nodded.

"Yes. Kong will not harm you."

"Trust her, guys," Lora said. "Dayo helped me a lot since I got here"

Randy moved away from his hiding spot and stood next to Sanda.

"Looks like you won't be offered any bananas any time soon."

With the Ape gone, the group's attention was now on Dayo.

"You are not from Marley, are you?" Eren eyed her suspiciously.

"Of course not, she not dressed like one," Jean added.

"Unless it some kind of cover up," Randy added. "All secret spy-like."

"She's not a spy and she is not with Marley," Lora stated as she looked at Moll. "She's like us. Uh, mainly you and I. We're the same race as her."

Moll eye's widened in surprise at this.

'It's true,' Dayo said speaking to the group telepathically.

The group was amazed that this woman had the same ability as the Twins and Miki.

'I am an Elias, and this island, Infant Island, is our home'

Dayo gently grabbed both Moll and Lora's hands and smiled as tears were threatening to fall from her eyes.

"Your home," she spoke. "And we've been waiting for you two for a long time."

Moll and Lora were a little confused over what Dayo said, but felt a sense of understanding from her.

"What are you talking about?" Eren interrupted. "What do you mean you've been waiting for them?"

Dayo let go of their hands and stared hard at Eren, like she was looking through him. Eren stared back at her but as he looked at her eyes, for some reason he recalled seeing such a gaze before but he could not put it were. But it had a sense of familiarity to it.

"You have two pieces of her power," Dayo said.

She then looked at Sanda.

"He too also has a variant of that power. It's different, but similar."

"Her power?" Armin asked then he understood. "You mean, you know about the Curse of Ymir?"

Dayo nodded.

"My people call it The Fool's Agreement." She turned back to Moll and Lora. "And now that you two are here, we can finally end the suffering."

'Please end the suffering.'

Eren grabbed his head as the words once again spoke in his head. He nearly fell back but he caught himself. Mikasa and Armin quickly stood next to him just in case he would fall again. Randy, Jean, and Sanda looked at him confused. Dayo didn't react like the others, as if she knew what Eren heard.

Eren took a couple of breaths and gave Dayo a heated glare. He didn't know why he was doing it, as if his body was taken over by something.

"Before coming here," Eren said. "We visited an Island. There we found ruins and a stone tablet with a sun symbol on it. And ever since I saw it, I've been hearing words in my head from time to time."

"Words?" Mikasa asked her voice with a hint of worry.

"Tell me the words," Dayo asked.

"Please end the suffering."

Both Moll and Lora spoke together as they shared a look of confusion and yet understanding.

Eren looked at them in surprise.

"How did you two know that? Did you read my mind?"

"No," Lora started.

"But it's like we knew those were the words," Moll said rubbing her shoulders as Sanda stood next to her. "What's going on with us?"

"Don't worry," Dayo answered. "I will tell you on the way."

"Umm, the way to where?" Randy asked.

"Someplace where we will be safe," Dayo answered. "And this nightmare will finally end."

"Hold on. If we are going anywhere safe, it's back at the Gotengo," Jean stated.

"Please, you must follow me," Dayo begged. "It's important."

Jean looked at Sanda and Eren for support. Sanda looked at Moll and she gave him a nod.

"P-P-Perhaps we sh-sh-should hear her o-o-out?"

Eren nodded as well as he looked away from Dayo.

Jean sighed as Mikasa patted his back.

"Fine, we'll go with you," Jean said. "But only AFTER you give us an explanation!"

"But-" Dayo began, only for Eren to interrupt.

"Jean's right. You owe us at least that before we just hand over our trust. Now start explaining."

Dayo stayed quiet, and a little intimidated.

"Well? We're waiting," Eren said sounding a little hostile.

"Eren!" Armin said.

"No, he's right," Dayo said not even looking at Eren. "But it is a long story, so you will have to be patient as I tell it."

Eren looked like he was going to argue but stayed silent. He could tell by the stares that Moll and Lora gave him he was rubbing them the wrong way. Like The way a mother glared at a naughty child.

Either way it managed to keep Eren quiet. The twins looked back at Dayo.

"Please, tell us," Lora asked.

Dayo nodded.

"Before I can answer your questions, I must tell you the beginning of my people's story."

The group kept silent.

"Before our people came to be, the world was a chaotic place. Gigantic beasts fought each other for space and dominance. The constant chaos plagued the first generation of people. They couldn't build, farm, or worship. Forests couldn't grow, rivers couldn't flow. The Gods grew impatient with their creation's misbehavior ruining their plans, deciding it would be best to send a protector."

"Who?" Moll asked causing Dayo to stop.

"Her name is Mosura."

At that moment it felt like Eren's heart just stopped. His pupils dilated and he started hyperventilating. Armin, Mikasa, Jean, and Randy came to Eren checking if he was alright.

Sanda was about to check on him, but he noticed that Moll and Lora didn't move. Nor did they acknowledge what was happing to Eren.

Unlike Eren after hearing that name the Twins felt a calmness around their bodies. A sense of peace, joy as the two shared a smile. They didn't know why.

"What is going on!?" Mikasa demanded as Eren started calming down.

"I'm getting to that," Dayo said. "After her creation, Mosura quelled the fighting. She established peace between man, monster, and nature. Some of them returned to their slumber while others journeyed across the world to lay their eggs."

"Soon, she made her home on this island, where she met my people. Inspired by her devotion to peace and harmony we started worshiping her. To show her thanks she gave us the powers my people...our people, are well known for."

"She…gave us our powers?" Lora asked in wonder.

"Ok, sounds cool; a kaiju god gave you guys psychic powers," Randy said. "But question, what ever happened to Mothra?"

"Mothra?" Armin asked.

Randy shrugged.

"What? That's what she said."

"She said Mosura," Jean said. "Not Mothra."

"Sounds like she said Mothra."

"They d-d-do sound a-a-alike," Sanda added.

"Ok let's just drop it," Jean said. "Now about Mosura-"

"STOP SAYING THAT NAME!" Eren screamed.

Everyone's eyes were now on Eren as the holder of both the Attack and Founder titans now stands like a scared child, a state that Mikasa recognized as the many panic attacks that she had while dealing with the aftermath from King Ghidorah.

"Maybe for now," Lora asked Dayo. "You could just call her Mothra?"

"It would…help us get the story going," Moll added.

Dayo nodded, then continued.

"As the years went by, Mothra remained on our island. Until the reign of King Frtiz."

"When Ymir became a Titan?" Moll asked.

"When she made the deal? Yes," Dayo answered.

"What deal?" Armin asked.

"Y-y-you mean t-the devil?" Sanda asked his tone giving off fear.

"The story that Ymir got her power from a devil instead of the earth? The one that Marley believes," Jean added. "That's real?"

"In a way both are correct,' Dayo answered.

Eren started to calm down a little, "Wha...what do you mean?"

"The one who gave her the power was a great evil, but power such as this doesn't come from nothing. It merged Ymir with a creature of the earth, a creature that no one could see but still existed."

"Well, that clears things up," Randy joked.

"How do you know all this?" Mikasa asked.

"We didn't at first," Dayo answered. "The details came...after. Mothra and her priestess came to Marley to try and convince Ymir to give up her power, but she refused. Soon enough, King Frtiz ordered her to kill my people."

"But Mothra stood in her way and two fought both sides giving their all. Mothra would have defeated Ymir, but time had caught up with her and she fell by Ymir's hands."

"So, she's dead," Armin asked.

"Yes, and No," Dayo answered.

"Here we go again," Randy sighed.

Dayo ignored him.

"Despite this, Mothra succeeded in preventing King Fritz from finding our island."

"And Marley found you regardless," Eren stated.

Dayo glared at him but retained her composure.

"My people where tricked and betrayed. Centuries ago, Marley came ashore. They studied us, unable to take us by force thanks to our mental abilities. That is, until Belvera!"

After saying the name Dayo spat on the ground in disgust.

"She was our princess. Her heart fell for a high official of Marley's army. He took her to their land where she became seduced by the power, wealth, and easy life on the mainland. She taught them of our abilities, how to bypass them. How to block them."

"The metal helmets!" Lora realized.

"Exactly," Dayo continued. "She married the Marleyan officer, making the takeover legal by our customs. In exchange, they protect us from the monsters of the jungle."

"Wait," Armin said. "Why didn't you just use your powers to manipulate the creatures to leave you alone?"

"I don't understand," Dayo said confused. "How would we do that?"

"We do that all the time back at home," Lora replied.

Dayo stood there flabbergasted.

"I think I can answer that," Randy said. "Remember that bit about Darwin back at the sub?"

The group (except Dayo) nodded.

"Well," Randy continued. "Part of what he talked about involved a thing called 'Adaptation.' It's where animals will change features over time to suit the environment they live in. For example: some will get smaller to need less food on a smaller island, develop thicker fur in colder climates, and some birds will evolve a different beak to eat different food. Maybe the Kaiju on this island, after many thousands of years living with you psychics, developed a resistance to your powers."

"That makes sense," Armin said. "The monsters back on New Eldia didn't have to deal with the likes of the Elias, that's why they're not immune. As you were, Dayo."

She went on.

"With their weapons, the beasts of the jungle couldn't threaten us any longer, leaving the Elder Wall as a simple barrier between us and the monsters. Our population increased, but our freedoms faded. With our captors keeping us prisoner, unable to call upon our protector.

"W-w-wait, wasn't M-m-mothra dead?" Sanda asked.

"She's not dead," Moll answered hers and Lora's expression showed understanding.

"She was gifted with the power to be reborn when she dies," Lora finished.

"Now she's an egg, waiting to be awakened," The twins spoke at once.

Moll and Lora were surprised by this as was the group, except Dayo.

"Ok, that was creepy," Randy said.

"No," Dayo said. "It's their birthright."

Dayo stepped forward towards the confused twins.

"You two are the descendants of Mothra's priestess. The only ones who can awaken her."

"I guess that answers the questions as to where the hell Mothra was during all this time," Jean stated.

"She knew the power that Ymir had would lead to this," Dayo explained. "But once we head to her temple you two can free her and end this once and for all."

"Wait a second, there's still a lot of questions," Lora said.

Moll agreed. "Yes for starters why-"

"No," Dayo said. "We've spent enough time here. We must get moving now!"

"She's right," Armin spoke up. "If we stay in the open too long, we risk being spotted. Predators, Titans, maybe even foot soldiers. Dayo, you've held your end, we'll follow. Take us to her temple."

"Well...that's the thing," Dayo began to sweat. "It's been many years since our people went past the Elder Wall. No one remembers the way. Well, except...Kong."

"What?" Mikasa said.

"He is her guardian. Only he knows where it is."

Eren was about burst out in anger over how stupid this all sounded, but Armin beat him to the punch.

"Fine. But Sanda and Mikasa, you two keep an eye on Dayo at all times. We're not risking falling into a trap. Everyone else, follow her closely."

"Come on," Mikasa said to Dayo, prompting her to move.

The group onward into the jungle as dawn began to approach.

Unbeknownst to them, in one of the trees towering the forest, a pair of eyes watched their movements carefully under a wooden mask.

The stranger took the stick in his hand and began to beat a drum, slowly, in a pattern of three.
