Issue 1: The Secret War

New Vale City, Mobiant Earth

It was another day in New Vale City. The people went about their business, and of course there was another supervillain attack being thwarted by the city's local friendly-neighborhood hero, and a good friend of course.

"Come on, kid, are you serious? Joe's Pizza is the best in New York! You can't argue that!" Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man, lamented as he webbed up the Shocker, who was robbing another bank.

"Dude, we've been over this! Sonny's got that place beat!" Miles Morales, the Ultimate Spider-Man, replied while dodging Shocker's blasts.

"Are you two arguing instead of fighting me?" Shocker groaned, trying to blast the Spider-Men away from him so he could escape.

Peter smiled under his mask, saying, "Oh yeah, right, Shocker's here."

"I can't believe you still got this clown. In my world he just up and vanished." Miles quipped, grabbing Shocker's gauntlets and using his Venom blast.

"Wait, what—?" Shocker was blasted back with his own gauntlets, them getting damaged in the process and leaving him defenseless, "Oh come on!"

The Spider-Men webbed up Shocker and planned to leave him for the police, that is, until he started talking again, "WAIT! Before you go, I gotta chime in!"

The first Spider-Man got to eye level, "What are you on about, Herman?"

"The best pizza isn't in Queens or Brooklyn or Manhattan! It's in the Bronx—" Shocker was cut off by Miles webbing up his face, muffling him too.

"The BRONX? Wow." Miles joked. The duo swung off to continue their debate.

The Spider-Men sat on a rooftop, pizza boxes in hand. Peter opened it up and grinned, "Oh yes! It's pizza time!"

Miles grabbed a slice and took a bite, "...Oh wow! This is great!"

Peter chuckled, "Told ya! Mr. Aziz knows how to manage a good pizza joint. Though I'll concede Sonny's was pretty good."

Miles leaned back, saying, "Yeah, guess we both got good taste. You know, the last thing I expected was to get invited here for pizza. I thought this was gonna be a training thing." he laughed.

A somber look grew on Peter's face, "Yeah… So how are you doing anyhow? We haven't seen each other since… Well…"

Miles looked at the ground, "...Still a bit shaken up, I'll admit it. Dying… it was frightening. I never really had time to figure out my feelings on it since I still have a whole city to take care of, I don't have someone like you that I can talk to about this stuff. Okay, well, I DO have someone, but that's another can of worms I don't wanna open up right now."

"I hear you…" Peter replied in earnest, "That's… that's why I've been inviting you to my patrols more. I felt you needed the company after everything you've been through and to be honest, you're a good crime-fighting partner."

Miles looked at him, "Really? I thought you'd go to Kaine or Yang for this."

Peter nodded, "Kaine's my brother but… the two of us have the experience first-hand. He's still opening up and trying to do his own thing in Houston. And Yang? She was more traumatized about it than I was, she's still recovering right now. Though going around and going back to what we do best has been a great outlet, especially with a fellow Spider-Man by my side."

Managing a smile, Miles replied, "Thanks, Pete… I mean it. My world's been… grim since you died there, knowing you reminded me of why I'm doing this. I just wish I didn't fail you AGAIN…"

"You didn't fail me, Miles. You stood up to THANOS! That takes guts, there's a reason why I gave you my blessing to wear the mask, and doing something like that only reaffirms why I don't regret that." Peter assured him.

Miles said, "I know… I just hope we don't have to deal with anything like that for a long while."

Peter replied, "No kidding, getting back to the neighborhood has been a breath of fresh air."

"Same here, Pete." Miles held his head, "You feel your Spider-Sense going off too right?"

Peter rubbed his forehead, "Yeah, it can't be Shocker right? We just kicked his butt."

A drone lowered itself down to the Spider-Men, catching them by surprise, "...What is that?" Miles wondered.

"No idea…" Peter muttered.

The drone turned on, activating a hologram of who the duo recognized as Tony Stark, "Greetings, Spider-Man. Only you can see this message so if you are, then I suppose that means Madame Web's connection worked, which is good, cause we're in quite a mess…"

"...Is that Tony Stark?" Miles asked.

The Tony Stark hologram continued, "Battleworld's in danger. Galeem is back and currently trying to recharge its strength, we don't know how it's back or why, all we know is that it has to be stopped, and the Barons agreed that our hope could lie upon the Summoner. We hate calling upon you like this, especially me, but the last time we fought Galeem it only ended in disaster."

"Wait Summoner? I'm so lost here, Pete…" Miles muttered, trying to decipher what is happening.

"So Spider-Man, do your thing and call the Champions or whatever it is you did last time. The fate of the multiverse might fall on you as much as it does us. No pressure of course." The hologram finished before closing and remaining still towards the Spider-Men. Peter looked as if he was contemplating.

Peter put on his mask, grabbed the drone and said, "Sorry Miles, we gotta go!" he started swinging with Miles pacing behind him.

"W-Wait, Spidey! What did he mean? What was he talking about?" Miles questioned his mentor figure as he swung behind him.

"Remember what I told you about Galeem and Dharkon? The Battleworld is where we fought! The Champions are a team we formed to stop them, Link, Samus and Mega Man were part of that team!" Peter explained, "The Battleworld has a bunch of kingdoms with counterparts of everyone we know, that was Stark Prime, the leader of a place filled with Iron Men!"

"Being honest, I'm still a bit lost!" Miles admitted.

"I'll explain more once we get to the Avengers! They need to hear this!" Spider-Man added.

Avengers Tower

"...Well this is quite the mess." said Tony Stark, commenting on the hologram message he watched along with the Avengers as well as Team RWBY, Cinder Fall, Team Sonic, Amy Rose, Scarlet Spider, Shadow the Hedgehog, Carina, Tangle and Gamora.

Carina chimed in, "But I thought Galeem and Dharkon would fade away… There's now way either of them could be back."

"They must be impossible to destroy." Spider-Man deduced, "Light and dark and all that stuff. Though it's weird how Galeem is back when Thanos only absorbed their powers last time…"

Tony Stark suited up, "We can worry about that later. Right now we got an angry God of Light looking for revenge and we need to get the band back together ASAP."

"Spidey, can you use the drone to send a signal to the Champions?" Carina asked.

"I can try." Peter shrugged. He tinkered with some of the wires and boosted the signal. He cleared his throat, "Hey Champions, long time no see right? So listen…"

Mushroom Kingdom

"...It's Spider-Man, the Summoner, whatever that means. Anyway, the Barons of Battleworld gave me a grim message. Apparently Galeem's back. We have no idea how it happened but I have no reason to believe the leaders would lie to us." said a recording of Spider-Man.

Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi grouped together to watch the message.

Dream Land

Kirby, Meta Knight and King Dedede stopped everything they were doing once they saw Spider-Man appear, "I know I'm asking a lot since it's so soon since last time we were all called together."

Hyrule

Link sat on a rock, eating a rock steak while Zelda had some apples. They were still wandering Hyrule together when they saw Spider-Man's message appear.

"...And I know some of us worked together even more recently after the Secret Wars for another great battle with its own costs…" said hologram Spider-Man.

Link nodded, recalling exactly what he endured on Mobiant Earth. Zelda was confused.

Spiral Mountain

Banjo and Kazooie sat in their room as Spider-Man continued, "Wow does he ever shut up?" squawked Kazooie.

"Be quiet, Kazooie…" Banjo hushed his friend.

"Being honest I don't know where this signal's going. I'm sure it'll be with the old Champions, but if it reaches out to any other worlds who aren't in the know like last time, if you can join us, PLEASE consider it. We could use all the help we could get…" Spider-Man practically begged.

Cloud's Dimension

Cloud, Barrett and Tifa could only look in awe as Spider-Man continue his speech, "We all made a great team last time, and it'd be an honor to fight by your side again to save Battleworld whether new or old. So Champions, are you back in for another fight?" he asked.

Avengers Tower, Mobiant Earth

Spider-Man sat down on a chair, his throat and body a bit worn out, his message over, "Geez, I can only keep the leader thing going for so long… how does Cap do it all the time?" he asked Iron Man while drinking water.

"I'll have to ask him once we're done." Iron Man quipped.

"I can't believe we're already getting pulled back into ANOTHER cosmic mess…" Yang grumbled.

Peter put an arm around his wife, "It won't be like last time, honey. Galeem isn't back to full strength yet, and we beat it before like that WITH Galeem on our butts at the same time. We'll be fine."

"Better be. If I die to it again, I'm killing you." Yang joked to him.

"I'll let you." Peter joked back.

"I won't lie, I'm kinda excited to meet the Champions." Miles admitted.

Peter smiled, "They're pretty cool. You'll like them."

Kaine crossed his arms, "Are you sure the kid should come with us?"

"He helped us fight Thanos. After that, I feel he's more than ready to handle anything." Peter replied to his clone brother.

Miles blinked in surprise, "Wait you're not sending me back home?"

Shrugging, Peter said, "No? Unless you want me to? It's up to you, kid. I won't be upset if you think it's overwhelming after Thanos."

Shaking his head, the younger Spider-Man answered, "No way. You need my help, I'm NOT going back until Galeem is gone."

Despite the stakes, Peter couldn't help but smile, "Well alright. Welcome to the Champions, kid."

"Cool." Miles replied.

"Carina, everyone, follow the signal, see if anyone wants to join our rematch against Galeem. We're gonna need all hands on deck again." Spider-Man told his allies.

Thor appeared via the Bifrost, "Friend Spider, Thy have brought the Tesseract to our cause."

Spider-Man said, "Thanks Thor. Think you can nab the Cosmic Emeralds with that real quick? You can get around faster than all of us."

"Verily." Thor agreed, "I shall return momentarily." he vanished so he could find the Cosmic Emeralds.

"You sure we should be using them?" Sonic asked in concern, still shaken up himself.

"Absolutely." Spider-Man answered, "I thought you'd be all over a plan like that."

Sonic scratched the back of his head, "Well I am."

Peter replied, "We need EVERYTHING this time. No stone left unturned. If we can use something, we'll use it. I'm not vanishing for 8 years again."

The blue hedgehog shrugged, "If ya say so, Pete. I'm gonna go head to the Mushroom Kingdom, keep a chili-dog waiting for me."

"No promises." Peter quipped as Sonic jumped into a portal made by Doctor Strange.

Peter reached under his mask to wipe the sweat off him. Wolverine looked at him and said, "I can tell yer freakin' out."

"No kidding, I'm freaking out. Galeem is back and I have to lead everyone to save the multiverse AGAIN." Peter snapped to Logan.

"Well someone's gotta step up and you're our best bet… as painful as that is to say." Logan grunted.

"Gee thanks, pal." Peter muttered.

"You're not joking. It is pitiful that the fate of everything lies on him." said a gruff voice.

"...No wonder why my Spider-Sense was going off. I thought it was because of the stress." Peter muttered, eyeing Doctor Eggman, "WHY are you here exactly?"

Eggman adjusted his glasses, revealing himself in an exo suit, "I tracked a foreign signal through my base and hacked into the message sent from the Battleworld. The threat Galeem poses cannot stand, and I brought some friends with me to prove it." he revealed Green Goblin, Neopolitan, and another elder scientist like him.

"...Osborn." Peter growled.

"Spider… I hate doing this as much as you. But once again, we're on the same side." Norman grunted at him.

The original Spider-Man rolled his eyes, "Yeah, just know this is like last time. You're going behind bars again once we're done here."

Osborn grinned upon seeing Miles, "I see you brought your sidekick with you. Need another friend to fall?"

"He's NOT my sidekick, Norman. And no, nobody's dying on my watch." Peter hissed darkly at his nemesis.

"I'm sure you said that before…" Norman taunted him.

Neo smirked silently at the heroes, knowing they needed her help. Peter sighed, "Great…" he looked over to the other scientist, "...Who is this supposed to be?"

"I am Dr. Albert Wily! That annoying Blue Bomber may have mentioned me before." Wily introduced himself.

A lightbulb went off in Spider-Man's head, "Oh right! The other scientist that makes robots! Look, I already got one to deal with, I don't need another."

Wily sighed, "You are as annoying as I was told."

"Keep making jokes, Spider-Man. Just remember we are as vital to this mission as the Champions." Eggman reminded Peter.

"I suppose…" Spider-Man muttered.

Hulk glared at the villains, Neo smiling back and holding her weapon. "Hmmm." Hulk grumbled.

Multiple portals opened up thanks to Doctor Strange, revealing Carina, Sonic, and Team RWBY. Sonic summoned Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Wario, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, King K Rool, Rosalina, Bowser, Piranha Plant and Bowser Jr. Ruby summoned Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Link, Zelda, Sheik, Ganondorf Young Link, Toon Link, Ness, Lucas, and Captain Falcon. Weiss summoned Roy, Marth, Ike, Lucina, Chrom, Robin, Corrin, Byleth, Joker, Fox, Falco, Wolf, ROB, and Mr Game & Watch. Blake summoned Duck Hunt, Villager, Isabelle, Little Mac, Bayonetta, Cloud, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Lucario, Pokemon Trainer, Pichu, Jigglypuff, and Incineroar. Yang summoned Banjo & Kazooie, Terry Bogard, Hero, Min-Min, Steve, Ice Climbers, Olimar and Shulk. Carina summoned Mega Man, Ryu, Ken, Simon, Richter, Snake, Wii Fit Trainer, Inkling, Samus, Dark Samus, Ridley, Pit, Palutena and Dark Pit.

Mario was the first to greet everyone, "Hello!"

Spider-Man waved to the plumber, "Hey Mario, it's been a while. It's great to have you back."

"It's-a my pleasure, Spider-Man." Mario happily replied, shaking the wall-crawler's hand.

Miles went up to Mario, "Whoa, there's so many people here. This is pretty cool."

"Hm? I don't-a believe we met. I'm-a Mario!"

"I-I'm Spider-Man! The second one, from another world! I'm still working on a name for my visits here..." Miles blurted out, shaking Mario's hand.

Mario grinned, "Any friend of-a Spider-Man is a friend of mine! If you have the name, then calling you Spider-Man is-a fine."

"C-Cool." Miles blurted out, feeling honored.

Peter turned his attention to Link, Samus and Mega Man, "I'm so sorry you guys had to leave your world again so soon. I would've understood if you wanted to sit this out after Thanos."

"Whoa! You all fought Thanos too?! Where were we?" Pit questioned.

"I'm not sure, a lot was happening that day and we didn't have time to call everyone." Spider-Man admitted.

Link shook his head, "And we appreciate the sentiment, but considering what's at stake, it wouldn't have felt right if I stayed behind."

"Galeem is back right? That won't stand as long as I'm here, even if I have to… make sickening decisions." Samus muttered, glaring at Ridley and Dark Samus. Ridley glared right back at her.

Mega Man said, "And like I said before, if you guys are making a call for help like that, I know it's serious." he turned his head, spotting someone he recognized, "...What is HE doing here?"

Wily rolled his eyes, "Feh. Of course you showed up, you annoying helper robot."

Peter got in between them, "He's here to help us fight Galeem. I hate this as much as you do Rock, but for right now we have to work together… That really hurt to say."

Mega Man scowled, "Alright. I trust you, Spidey. But if tries anything, I'm putting him back in jail."

"Go right ahead, buddy." Spider-Man offered.

"And of course Eggy is here. Didn't we just kick your butt at Wakanda? Did you give up and turn yourself into the Avengers finally?" Sonic quipped.

Eggman growled, "No. Unlike you I know how to take matters seriously, we have to stop Galeem."

"Sure, just know I'll twist that mustache of yours if you do anything." Sonic joked.

Ryu crossed his arms, "It is an honor to fight by your sides once more."

"Likewise, Ryu. It's nice that you and Ken are here." Spider-Man said.

"Ken?" called out a voice. Terry Bogard stepped forward, grinning at Ken, "Oh you're here too! Are you doing okay, Ken?" he greeted his old friendly rival.

"Oh sweet, Terry!" Ken gave Terry a handshake.

Spider-Man looked at the two, "Wait, you know each other?"

Ryu explained, "Our worlds crossed paths before, we have met many worlds beyond yours, the Champions included. I was not anticipating this reunion however."

"Neither was I! It's good to see familiar faces here!" Terry cheered.

The Wandering Warrior grinned, "Likewise, Mister Bogard. I'm glad all our worlds can converge for the sake of all."

"I'm surprised my message actually convinced people we never met to show up again." Peter admitted.

Carina tapped her chin, "Looking around, I think we've seen some of them in Battleworld."

Shadow said, "That is a fair assumption." he points to Byleth, "I recall seeing her in Kamar-Taj."

"Me? You must have me confused with another, this is my first time here, I am Byleth." Byleth replied.

"Yeah we know. You must be the prime Byleth, we met another version of you in the Battleworld, no idea how that happened." Iron Man elaborated for her.

Byleth tilted her head, "Really now? How strange."

Scarlet Spider nodded, "And I remember Terry from Mutopia. He's a lot more… bombastic than that counterpart." Terry grinned at that.

Spider-Man pointed to Min-Min, "I remember you, you had a ramen soup shop in the Iron Nation. You're Min-Min right?"

Min-Min answered, "I am! Glad you know about my shop."

"I feel as though some of you recognize me as well, I am Luminary, though the inhabitants of my world call me Hero for reasons unknown." Hero revealed.

"Alright, Hero." Spider-Man said, "I do remember you from New Wakanda. But some of you I don't recognize."

Diddy looked at Banjo, "Wait? Banjo!"

"Diddy? Guh-huh!" Banjo cheered happily, giving his old friend a hug.

Sonic smiled, "Hey Banjo, long time no see!"

"Sonic? You're here too?" Banjo asked.

Kazooie rolled her eyes, "Great the blue furball's here…"

"Missed ya too, Kazooie." Sonic chuckled.

Peter asked, "How did you guys meet? Never heard about this before."

"We went racing before! And we stopped an evil wizard!" Diddy explained.

Sonic said, "Also raced. We had a small grand prix before the Convergence between visits."

"When I got the message I wasn't expecting any of you." Banjo replied, "This is great!"

"I see…" Peter said, surprised that everyone was more connected than he thought.

Miles examined Steve, "No offense, dude, but I never imagined meeting anyone so blocky. Pretty cool though."

Steve raised a hand to greet himself, "This is how everyone looks in my world. I am Steve by the way."

"Wow. I wanna go there now." Miles blurted out, curious.

Peter put a hand on Miles' shoulder, "Maybe we'll find some of it in Battleworld."

Ruby Rose spoke to Joker, noticing the mask, "Are you a superhero where you're from?"

Joker shook his head, "No. I'm one of the best thieves around. Name's Joker."

Ruby asked, "A thief? It's surprising someone like you responded to our call then."

"Look, I got SOME standards. If there's a big bad powerful god out there, I will fight it. This wouldn't be my first rodeo with that anyway." Joker admitted to her.

"I see…" Ruby muttered.

Thor returned, alongside Doctor Strange, holding the Cosmic Emeralds, "Spider-Man, I have obtained the emeralds. Shall we depart for battle?"

"Oh… the emeralds…" Sonic muttered under his breath.

"Not yet, Thor. We need a battle plan." Peter said.

"Didn't we just beat it into submission last time?" Yang asked.

"Yeah we did, but we had Spirits and you had your cosmic powers. Both of which are off the table." Peter replied.

Carina said, "We have the Cosmic Emeralds, that should count for something right?"

"We ONLY use them as a last resort." Sonic told her.

"Sonic, what's gotten into you?" Ruby questioned his speedy friend.

Sonic shrugged, "Nothin'. I just think we shouldn't go all godly until we actually have to."

"Are you sure? This feels serious enough." Tails told him.

The blue hedgehog nodded, "I'm sure, buddy."

"Then we won't use them until it becomes our last resort." Peter compromised, "Like last time, we'll have to coordinate with the Houses. There's no way we can handle an army of Master Hands without them."

Bowser cracks his knuckles, "We'll just punch 'em into submission then!"

"I'm with Bowser on this one." Knuckles admitted.

Mario tapped his chin, There's-a not much else we can-a do."

Scratching the back of his head, Miles said, "I got nothing. I'm just along for the ride."

Luigi stuttered, "I-I'm not-a sure what's-a left."

Spider-Man sighed, "Looks like we have to wing it… again."

"Typical…" Osborn muttered.

"Thor, Strange, get us to Battleworld, I think we're ready." Spider-Man said to his allies.

"Best of luck everyone." Captain America said.

Miles tilted his head, "Wait you're not joining us, Cap?"

Cap nodded, "I wish I could help, but the planet needs defenders with so many of you absent. Do not worry though, if you need back-up, I will not hesitate to join the battle."

"Thanks Cap, we'll let you know if we need you or anyone else. Alright everyone, let's head off." Peter replied.

"Very well." said Strange, opening a rift while Thor used the Tesseract.

Battleworld

"KEEP FIGHTING BROTHERS AND SISTERS! WE SHALL END THIS WAR BEFORE IT BEGINS!" War Thor shouted, striking Mljnoir down on a Master Hand, causing it to turn to ash. The warriors of Asgardia continued to fight, including the likes of Beta Ray Bill, who smashed Stormbreaker onto a Master Hand and blew it up with lightning.

Mutopia's X-Men went after a swarm of Master Hands. Wolverine slashed one while Cyclops blasted another to oblivion, Storm struck down her lightning as Iceman froze a few more. Angel took the skies and took down a few more. "GRAH!" Wolverine grunted, driving his claws through a Hand before leaping and cutting another in half with ease, "There's too damn many of 'em…" he groaned.

"No kidding!" said one of the Spider-Guild, Ollie Osnick to be exact, the rookie Spider-Kid swinging into the air and web-yanking a Master Hand before driving his metal spider-arms into it, destroying it.

"We cannot stop though! Not until this battle is over!" shouted Bucky Barnes, one of the many Super Soldiers fighting this battle, his metallic arm proving useful in knocking down a Master Hand. He threw his shield at a Master Hand, getting its attention. This gave Sharon Carter the opening to drive her shield down on it, ending it.

Wong used a spell to contain a couple Master Hands, allowing a heroic Loki to add an offensive spell, burning the Master Hands and finishing them off, "Good use of your spells, my friends, years of training have paid off." complimented the Ancient One, using the Eye of Agamotto to freeze more Master Hands in place, leaving them out in the open.

The Iron Legionaire flew in and blasted down a few Master Hands. Silver Centurion used his Unibeam while Extremis knocked one down with a few punches. They were joined by Iron Spider, aka Amadeus Cho, who brought another one down with his arms, "Not bad, kid." Stark Prime said, taking action in the Mark XLVII.

The Wakandan Warriors were using their new weapons to push back the ambush, "Keep pushing, we shall bring unified glory to Battleworld once more!" Shuri proclaimed, slashing through a Master Hand before shooting it down in a barrier of ISO-8 containing darkness, freezing it so M'Baku could bring it down.

As the fighting continued, the Champions appeared at last, caught in the middle. Spider-Man's lenses windened, "Holy crap, are you sure you guys needed us?!"

"We may have the upper hand now, but Galeem remains unpredictable." Madame Web contacted the Champions.

"Whoa, you can hear that too right? Is that you, Gwen?" Miles questioned.

"I have not used that name in years. It's Madame Web now." Web revealed.

"...Right. Man, I need a book to figure all this out." Miles muttered.

"We'll give you a rundown later, kid. Right now we have a fight to win!" Spider-Man shouted.

"Let's-a go!" shouted Mario, jumping into the fray.

"O-Okie dokie…" mumbled Luigi, ready to fight too.

"SHOWTIME!" bellowed Bowser.

"The Champions have arrived once more." Sharon Carter pointed out.

"Alright guys, what's the sitch?" Peter asked.

"Galeem is revived and trying to draw power, we can hold off the Master Hands, but after 8 years of losing we're not taking anymore chances with it and felt this was the one time you should be called." Stark Prime explained.

"No problem! We fought Galeem once, we can do it again!" Yang boasted, jumping into the air and punching down a Master Hand.

"Alright Champions, um… we still need a battle cry!" Spider-Man shouted.

"Still can't believe you're our leader…" Blake quipped.

Green Goblin threw pumpkin bombs at some of the Master Hands, with aid of Thor Groot who tangled the hands up in his branches. Meta Knight slashed them all down with ease, spinning around so that he could move around faster. Osborn huffed, "I didn't need anyone's help there…"

"I AM GROOT!" Thor Groot shouted.

Byleth struck a Master Hand down with a lance, surprising the Ancient One, "Byleth? No… you must be the original." he wondered, knocking down more Master Hands.

"You know of me?" Byleth asked.

"You were one of my students in Kamar-Taj. It is nice to meet you." Ancient One revealed.

Byleth smiled and used her sword to cut apart a hand, "I hope I do not disappoint then!"

"POWA GEYSAH!" shouted Terry, slamming his fist onto the ground and creating a shockwave that caught even the Master Hands. This gave Ryu and Ken an opening to perform their iconic uppercuts on them.

"SHORYUKEN!" the warriors shouted at the same time. Ryu and Ken landed and gave each other a friendly fist bump.

"Hey come on, come on!" Terry taunted the Master Hands, practically ordering them to come his way.

"Oops! Looks like you were too slow!" Sonic quipped, bringing down a Master Hand coming towards Terry with a charged Homing Attack. He uncurled and stomped his feet on another one at the same time as Mario, the duo bouncing off it and onto another, "Woohoo!" he cheered.

Miles' Spider-Sense warned him of an incoming Master Hand, instinctively dodging its grab with a well-timed flip. He placed his hand down on it, using a Venom Blast to take it down. Spider-Kid webbed another one back so Miles and Ruby could take it down. Ollie shouted, "Whoa you got some cool powers!"

"Um… thanks!" Miles muttered.

Ruby leaped up and swung Crescent Rose, slashing the Master Hand into nothing, "I don't remember them falling so easily…" she pointed out, noticing how quickly the Master Hands are falling to them.

"Kid's right. Something's wrong here…" Scarlet Spider agreed, driving his stingers through a Master Hand.

"Galeem not being at full strength might apply to the hands!" Iron Man suggested.

"Whatever makes this easier!" Wily shouted, using his capsule to blow up more hands.

Spider-Man swung next to Mutopia Wolverine, the latter slicing through a Master Hand. Peter leaped and webbed up another hand and threw it down with ease, "Spider-Sense is still going nuts though! At least we can take it easy until we have to bring the fight to Galeem!"

Weiss asked, "Shouldn't we do that now?"

"Aye. She is right. We can fight the Master Hands, Champions. 'Tis up to you to end Galeem once and for all!" War Thor suggested.

Spider-Man looked at Battleworld's heroes, noticing that with how easily the Master Hands are falling, it would be better to leave it to them, "...Right. Come on, Champions, we got a God of Light to bring down!"

The Champions followed Spider-Man to the canyon, where they all saw Galeem slowly rise up. Yang asked, "Uh, honey, tell me it floating like that is a GOOD sign."

Peter and Miles' Spider-Sense blared loudly in their heads, "I wish!"

Galeem's rise created a powerful shockwave that launched the heroes back. The Champions did their best to get their bearings as they were launched across the arena. The Spider-Men clung to the floor, holding onto a few others as everyone that had weapons used them to stick down.

Spider-Man could only look up in horror as Galeem charged its light attack, realizing they were about to fail yet again, "Not again… Not again…" Peter muttered in fear, believing the multiverse was about to be doomed.

Then the unthinkable happened, right as Galeem was about to attack, a loud sound was heard. The Champions' mouths were agape as they all watched Galeem's orb of light fade and it split in half. The Master Hands fell down all around it, and a gap opened where the God of Light once flew, a lone figure hovering there.

BGM-Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children-One-Winged Angel

The Spiders' sixth sense continued to blare, giving them migraines. Cloud looked up in horror recognizing who was floating there.

"...Cloud? You look like you know something here..." Spider-Man said in shock.

"...Sephiroth…" Cloud growled in pure disgust at the sight of his old enemy.

Sephiroth hovered where he sliced Galeem, looking smug about what he just did, Masamune held down and covered in light particles. He chuckled, "Hmph. I've been waiting for this moment…" he raised his hand and covered Battleworld in darkness with his new powers, "Now I shall give this world DESPAIR!"

The Champions got up, realizing their fight just got a whole lot worse.

MJR Here: Well this is a surprise for the Champions. This was all a trap by Sephiroth to lure the heroes so he could do what even the gods couldn't. This war is only just beginning.

Jacob9594: Yep. Or at least the de-facto leader of a group.

superjoeyf721: This story was pretty much planned before that.
