The next day Naruto went to the Ninja Academy waiting to be placed a on his ninja team. Going into the classroom Naruto sat down and looked around at some of the other students. Towards his left was a brooding guy with black hair, Sasuke Uchiha. He was sitting just staring at where the teacher normally would stand, saying nothing. Behind him to his right he saw a quiet dark haired guy with beautiful eyes named Hinata. She was always shy and every time Naruto looked at her he noticed that she would get beat red and smile shyly. "Wonder why she is always like that…kinda weird." He thought to himself. There was one kid sleeping behind him that was extremely lazy his name was Shikamaru. Naruto thought he was an ok guy. Abruptly two girls came into the classroom shrieking like banshees who would get to sit next to Sasuke.
"Oh great those two are at it again." The lazy Shikamaru yawned. The two girls were at each other's throats. The pink haired girl was Sakura and the blonde Ino. "I'm the smartest girl in glass so Sasuke wants to sit next to me. " Hissed Sakura. "But I'm the most beautiful so I get to sit next to him." Ino argued. "I doubt he wants to sit next to either one of you loud mouths." Naruto groaned. "What was that twerp!" Sakura inquired glaring at him. "Oh nothing." Naruto smiled weakly. "Why I ought to." Sakura growled taking a swing at Naruto only to miss. This caught everyone by surprise. Normally Sakura could always hit Naruto with much ease. This was the first time ever that she couldn't. "How did you do that?!" Sakura demanded to know. "I'm an official ninja now, I can't be getting hit all easily like that." Naruto chuckled sticking out his tongue. Sakura turned red and let loose a fury a punches all that Naruto dodged at first and then went on to block with one finger. This caught Sasuke's attention as Naruto was always a looser and someone who struggled in class. "Hmm, what made this dork get so much better all of a sudden? He still has the lowest grades, so maybe he's been hiding something." Sasuke thought.
Sakura began to huff and puff in fatigue of trying to clock Naruto. "Seems like someone should get some more training." Naruto teased. "Shut it twerp!" Sakura hollered. "ENOUGH!" Shouted Iruka entering the room. Everyone scattered to their seats. "Alright, today you will be getting assigned to your teams." Iruka informed them. "For Team 8 it will be Kiba Inuzuka, Hinata Hyuga, and Shino Aburame." Iruka started. "Team 10 will be Shikamaru Nara, Yamanaka, and Choji Akimichi." Iruka continued. "Hey Shikamaru we get to be on a team together." Choji smacked as he wolfed down some chips. "As to be expected." Shikamaru sighed. " For Team 7 Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha." Iruka finished. " Yay I get Sasuke!" Sakura cheered much to Ino's dismay and Sasuke's annoyance. "Great I get her and the gloomy guy. Well least she's cute. Maybe I could have a chance with her." Naruto Said to himself. " Great an annoyance and a looser." Sasuke sighed. "Alright you're dismissed get to know your teammates." Iruka instructed them.
Leaving they all went with their new teammates for lunch. "Hey Sakura! Wanna go get some ramen?" Naruto asked. "No thanks loser!" Sakura shouted in disgust. " Gee, sorry I asked." Naruto sighed. " What about you Sasuke?" Naruto wondered. "I guess." Sasuke grunted. "Oh let's all go!" Sakura chimed in. "I literally just said that but whatever lets go." Naruto huffed. The three new Genin went to get ramen and eat lunch together. They all ate in silence with Naruto every now and then trying to break the silence with nothing more than grunts from Sasuke and huffs from Sakura. After lunch they went on a walk and Sakura tried talking to Sasuke. "So Sasuke, what do you hope to accomplish in our missions?" She asked. "To get stronger." Sasuke grunted. " I hope to gain experience and knowledge that will help me be the greatest Hokage." Naruto smiled. "I didn't ask you." Sakura shot. "Fine whatever, I'll see you guys tomorrow when we meet our sensei. I've got training to do." Naruto said disappearing from sight with the Hiraishin. "What the hell? Where did he go?" Sakura wondered confused. "He's faster than he lets on." Sasuke stated.
The next day, Team 7 waited in their classroom one final time for their new Jonin Sensei. "Ugh when is this guy gonna get here he's so late." Naruto groaned. "Stop complaining. A good shinobi has to have patience." Sakura teased sticking her tongue out. "Seriously where the hell is this guy cha!" She thought. Sasuke simply sat quietly and waited. After thirty minutes the door finally opened a revealed a silver haired man with this forehead protector covering his left eye and a mask covering most of his face save for his eye and ears. "Hmm so this is my team. Guess we should get acquainted with each other. We'll talk on the roof." The sensei informed them.
Reconvening on the roof the trio sat in front of their new sensei. "Let's start off by introducing ourselves to the group. I'll go first. My name is Kakashi Hakate. My likes and dislikes are well I don't feel like telling you that. My hobbies are… I have lots of hobbies. My goals are….can't think of any. So who's next?" Kakashi wondered. "I am, believe it! My name is Naruto Uzumaki. My likes are different types of ramen, training, and creating new jutsus. My dislikes are people who look down on others and the time it takes ramen to cook. My goal is to become the greatest Hokage!" Naruto proudly declared. "I see. What about you?" Kakashi asked gesturing at Sakura. "I'm Sakura Haruno, my hobbies are…my likes are teehee….my dislikes are Naruto." She stated. "Wow really." Naruto whimpered sadly. "I guess you're last." Kakashi told Sasuke." My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I like training and gaining power and dislike weakness. My goal is to kill a certain someone." Sasuke glared intensely. "Ok then…we'll start tomorrow. It will be a survival test." Kakashi informed them. "Wait I thought we were supposed to start on missions!" Naruto protested. "Only nine graduates become full fledge Genin. The weaklings are weeded out and sent back to the academy." Kakashi replied. "But what was the point of graduating?" Sakura wailed. "So we could get the best candidates." Kakashi smiled. "Fine, I'll past this survival test believe it!" Naruto punched the air in eagerness. "Oh and tomorrow, don't eat breakfast or you'll puke. See you in the morning." Kakashi waved as he disappeared.
As the morning came the trio came to the training ground in a groggy manner. "Morning." Naruto said softly. The others just groaned in response due to just waking up and being hungry. After a few hours Kakashi finally arrive. "Hello there." He waved. "YOU"RE LATE!" Sakura bellowed. " Sorry a black cat crossed my path so I had to take the long way around." Kakashi admitted. "Yeah right." Naruto rolled his eyes. "So what's this test?" Sasuke asked. "Simple you must get these two bells before the timer goes off." Kakashi instructed. "Whosoever doesn't get one will be going back to the academy." Kakashi stated. "Damn I must get one of those bells. I am an avenger." Sasuke growled lowly. "Ok we'll begin when I say start." Kakashi spoke softly.
"I'm getting a bell believe it!" Naruto shouted as he darted off straight towards Kakashi while drawing a kunai. Suddenly he was grabbed from behind and had his kunai pointed at the back of his head. "I didn't say start." Kakashi spoke coldly as he was holding Naruto. "So you are skilled." Naruto spat. "His speed is intense." Sasuke thought. Letting Naruto go Kakashi backed up a bit and eyed them all closely. "Start!" Kakashi ordered. With swiftness Sasuke and Sakura moved to the trees for cover. Naruto stood strong and stared down Kakashi. "You're not like the others… you're kind of weird." Kakashi admitted. "I'm going to get those bells." Naruto smirked. Waving his hands in a unique way he moved to attack. "Razor Tornado Jutsu." Naruto proclaimed. Creating a horizontal tornado Naruto propelled his jutsu towards Kakashi at twice the speed of sound. A whirling tornado plowed towards him shredding everything in its path. "Shit!" Kakashi yelped as he barely dodged the assault and watched as it tore through the trees and ripped the ground apart. "The heck was that?" Sakura wondered. "Since when did he have such a jutsu?" Sasuke pondered.
"That's not a jutsu I've ever heard of. Where did you learn it?" Kakashi inquired. "I invented it." Naruto smirked. Hearing this shocked everyone. Charging up chakra in his throat, Naruto prepared another attack. " Water style: Torrent Sphere!" Naruto breathed two tiny strings of water towards Kakashi at break neck speed. They surrounded him quickly then spontaneously created a sphere and trapped him inside and started to spin and crush him with the pressure of the ocean then the sphere imploded. All that was left was a puff of smoke. In the trees Kakashi eyed Naruto intensely. "Damn that jutsu was powerful. I could feel the effects with the remains of my shadow clone. Both of those jutsus are Jonin level." Kakashi thought. Searching for Kakashi, Naruto eventually found where he was hiding. "Crusher Fist!" Naruto bellowed propelling his fist and sending out his attack that crashed into the trees and destroyed a vast amount of them. Leaping back out into the field, Kakashi threw several shurikens at Naruto. Drawing a kunai, Naruto blocked the attacks and threw several kunai at Kakashi in retaliation. Dodging the kunais, Kakashi gazed at their speeds in awe. As one of them passed by he got a glimpse of something wrapped around it with a seal on it and recognized it. "No! It can't be!" Kakashi thought. Instantly Naruto was behind Kakashi and sent a spinning roundhouse at the Jonin and made contact sending him flying back a few short feet. Recovering quickly, Kakashi countered with several kicks and punches sending Naruto to the ground. "You're a lot stronger than you let on." Kakashi huffed.
Seeing an opportunity Sasuke threw several shurikens at Kakashi, who evaded it with a substitution jutsu. Darting forward he scanned the area and found Kakashi and charged towards him. "It's my turn. Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu!" Sasuke breathed shooting a fireball at Kakashi. Dodging, Kakashi countered with a kick sending Sasuke into a tree. Sasuke then puffed into a tree revealing the Substitution Jutsu. He then came from Kakashi's left and the two engaged in a Taijutsu battle. Sasuke faired pretty well before Kakashi got serious briefly. "Earth style: Headhunter Jutsu." Kakashi activated the jutsu and trapped Sasuke in the ground. Kakashi then realized Naruto was gone and was then on high alert. He went into the trees to figure out a plan.
"So Naruto somehow learned the Hiraishin from the Scroll of Sealing. He also as created three powerful jutsu and his natural speed and strength are far above Genin level. He's high Chunin level. At least in the Ninjutsu and Taijutsu area. Sasuke is also pretty skilled and is probably low to mid Chunin level. Wonder what Sakura is capable of." Kakashi thought.
Sakura was trotting through the bush trying to find Sasuke. Along the way she saw him walking with stab wounds. "Sakura we have to flee." Sasuke coughed. "Not a chance, release." Sakura responded making a hand sign and ending the Genjutsu. "Impressive." Kakashi thought looking from a high branch. Eventually she found him buried in the ground. "Oh no Sasuke!" Sakura shouted rushing to his aid. Digging fast, she worked at getting him free. "Are you ok Sasuke?" Sakura asked. "I'm fine." Sasuke groaned. The two made their way towards the clearing to find Naruto and Kakashi engaged in hand to hand combat. Naruto was holding his own, but Kakashi was obviously holding back. Jumping back Naruto prepared another attack. "Ninja Art: Raging Fire Jutsu!" Naruto exhaled a bright yellow flame that barreled towards Kakashi who dodged the attack and noticed the effects of the fire. The ground beneath started to melt and the flames continued till they crossed the nearby lake causing most of the water to evaporate almost instantly. "That's some heat you got there." Kakashi stated. "I'm guessing this is another jutsu that you created?" Kakashi pondered. "You better believe it!" Naruto chuckled. "Man when did he get so strong?" Sakura gasped. "I don't know." Sasuke gritted his teeth in jealously. "That's not important now." Naruto whispered from behind them. "Wait how are?" Sakura started. "Shadow Clones." Naruto smiled. "So what is important now?" Sasuke grunted. "Simple getting those bells; maybe if we do it together we might have a chance. I mean it's better two of us get a chance than none of us even though I hate to say it." Naruto stated. "But I don't want to go back." Sakura protested. "Then get a bell." Sasuke shot. "Ok. Here's the plan, Sasuke you're going to come from the right, Sakura you're going to come from the left, and I'm going to come from the water. Attack with all you got." Naruto instructed.
Moving into to position while Kakashi was finishing off the shadow clone they waited for the signal. As the shadow clone dispersed, Sakura threw several shurikens with explosion tags, while Sasuke released the Great Fireball Jutsu, and Naruto leapt from the water and used his Crusher Fist. As the three attacks came towards Kakashi, he had to act fast in order to block them all. While he was doing that, Naruto threw a kunai at the bells. The kunai flew with great strength and speed and cut the bells free. Leaping for them Sasuke made his way for them while Naruto and Sakura jumped on Kakashi. "Got them!" Sasuke yelled as the timer went off. "Well seems like you got the bells…you two can let go now." Kakashi said aloof. "Sorry Sensei." Sakura apologized. "So you got the bells by working together and coming at me from multiple sides. Good job, you pass." Kakashi smiled. "Wait what?" Naruto asked confused. "You pass." Kakashi repeated. " But there are only two bells." Sasuke pointed out. "The bells don't really matter, the main goal was to work as a team. If you had done the task alone each of you would have failed. All the other Genin I've test have failed this and followed the rules to a tee. Walk with me." Kakashi ordered.
Walking with their sensei, they came to a stone that had names engraved in it. "This is the Memorial Stone. All the shinobis who names are carved here were K.I.A." Kakashi said solemnly. "That sounds cool." Naruto said. "Naruto, that means there were killed in action. All of them died in battle." Sakura informed him. "Oh." Naruto replied sorrowfully. " Those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum. I will never let my comrades die. That is my ninja way." Kakashi proudly declared. The three Genin smiled in agreement to always be there for one another. " Tomorrow we have our first mission. Rest up." Kakashi said dismissing them for the day. "Alright!" Naruto cheered happily.
Going to the Hokage's office Kakashi knocked on the door and waited for a response. "Come in." Hiruzen responded. Opening the door Kakashi walked in and closed it and stood in front of the Hokage's desk. "Hello there Kakashi, how was the test?" Hiruzen asked. "It went well, they passed." Kakashi said which greatly shocked Hiruzen. "Did they now?! I'm shocked and glad that you have your first Genin team. How did they perform?" Hiruzen questioned. "Sakura needs a bit of work. She didn't show anything in Ninjutsu and her Taijutsu was ok. Her Genjutsu was pretty decent. Sasuke did well in Taijutsu and Ninjutsu didn't get a chance for Genjutsu testing, same with Naruto." Kakashi informed him. "I see and what about the young Naruto?" Hiruzen asked. "Well for one he's high Chunin level and has created four Jutsu of his own. Three elemental Jutsu and one special one. His strength and speed are very great and his stealth is above average, no doubt pulling pranks helped in that department." Kakashi stated. "I'm impressed." Hiruzen chuckled. "There's something else I need to tell you about Naruto. Securely." Kakashi added his tone changing. "I see." Hiruzen responded making some hand signs and activating a jutsu to secure the office and allow Kakashi to speak without anyone eavesdropping. "What is it?" Hiruzen inquired. "As you know, Naruto learned the Shadow Clone Jutsu from the Scroll of Sealing. He also learned another jutsu from it with the same creator." Kakashi started. "Same creator? So he learned another of Sensei's jutsus. Which one?" "Hiruzen asked in anticipation. "The Hiraishin." Kakashi answered. Hiruzen's jaw dropped and he was absolutely floored. "How?!" Hiruzen gasped. "Well he probably accidently used the other ability of the Shadow Clone Jutsu and sped up his learning process. Thought it seems like it takes a lot out of him." Kakashi replied. "I see. Well keep up his training and make sure he masters it. After all it's only fitting that he uses it." Hiruzen voiced. "Understood Lord Hokage.
Over the next couple of weeks Team 7 did D rank missions and trained hard with one another. Kakashi taught them different formations and drills to increase their teamwork as well as chakra exercises for their reserves. After five weeks had gone by Naruto had had it. "I'm done with these lame missions. I'm a ninja and I want a ninja mission." He pouted. "Enough!" Iruka belted. "You're going to do the missions you're assigned." He growled. "Now now Iruka if he wants a higher mission let's give him one." Hiruzen interjected looking over the files. "Here, your team will have a mission in the Land of Waves. Come forth." Hiruzen said as the door opened up revealing a late middle aged man. "Hello I'm Tazuna, master bridge builder and I need to get home to my village." Tazuna said taking a swig of his canteen. "Awesome!" Naruto cheered. "Great are these my escorts, these small fries." Tazuna huffed. "Why I oughtta!" Naruto started as Kakashi moved to hold him back. "Naruto you can't beat up the client." Kakashi lectured. "Now that you have this assignment return home and pack at one." Hiruzen instructed
