Chapter 2: Babies First Christmas
The 2 weeks before Christmas pass quickly it's December 24th the day before Christmas. Albert and Sylvia are just getting up out bed Sylvia breastfeeds both Matthew and Olivia and than hads a bite of breakfast with her father and husband. After breakfast Albert says, "We should be home early tonight for Christmas Eve."
Mr. Webb replies, "I will keep an eye on my beautiful grandchildren it has been so wonderful watching them during the day while you out patrolling the frontier. Again be careful out there."
Sylvia says to her father, "Papa thank you so much for watching them while we are out and don't worry we will be careful."
Both Albert and Sylvia give baby Matthew and baby Olivia a kiss on the check as they coo happily at their mother and father. Than Albert and Sylvia leap and fly up into the air. Their capes fluttering and whooshing in the wind.
About mid-day Al and Syl look below and see a stagecoach being held up. There are 2 masked men holding up the mail stagecoach that is full of Christmas presents going to a nearby Town. Al flies down and lands right in front of the 2 masked men and asks, "So what are you 2 up to? It looks like you are up to no good."
One of the masked man answers, "None of your business. Now get out of our way with your funny looking black cape and bag we have to get these presents home to our families that this nice Mail Carrier gave to us."
Al replies, "I don't think he gave you those gifts." Than Al grabs one of the men and throws him to the ground.
The other crock takes out his gun out of his holster and points it at Al but before he can pull the trigger from behind Syl grabs him and lifts him up with one hand at ease, "Put me down you red dressed witch!" The outlaw screams.
"Oh very well," Sylvia chuckles.
Sylvia also throws him to the ground. Then she picks up the outlaws six gun slowly bending it like a pretzel. The outlaw sees his gun bent out of shape and useless. The two utlaws look at each other and then they raise their hands in surrender.
Al and Syl tie them both up and then go over to the Mail Carrier and gives him back all the presents.
Just then the Sheriff of the nearest Town comes up with a posse for they were also looking for those men who robbed the Mail Carrier. They see that the men are tied up so they put them in the prison wagon and thanks Al and Syl for capturing them.
The Mail Carrier also thanks them by saying, "Thank you so much! you are both the Heavenly Hero and Heroine ain't you? I heard so much about you!
Al and Syl both answer and say, "Yes we are. We are out here protecting and helping the frontier. We both hope you and your families have a Merry Christmas we must be on our way now."
Al and Syl take to the air as the Mail Carrier looks up in astonishment and again says, "Thank you! and a Merry Christmas to you and yours," as they fly away.
As Al and Syl are flying Al says to Syl, "We need to head home so we can have Christmas Eve with your father." Then in a few minutes they' land back on the Webb Farm and are greeted by Mr. Webb and their two beautiful baby children. They have a quiet evening together and right before bed Mr. Webb tells his daughter and son in law, "Laura Wilder was over today and said 'that we are all invited over to the Boarding House tomorrow to have Christmas dinner.' She also said, 'come early' they have lots of presents for Matthew and Olivia."
Matthew and Olivia both have big happy smiles on their faces as they coo at each other.
Sylvia says happily, "We should probably go to bed early tonight because we have a big day tomorrow with our families."
They all agree and turn in early and get a good night's rest.
Before turning in Albert and Sylvia go into the nursery of their house. Going up to the crib of Matthew and Olivia. Looking at their babies sleeping peacefully the couple smiles, "They are so beautiful my love," Sylvia says.
"Just as beautiful as you are my love," Albert replies.
Both their wedding rings glow lightly."
Albert and Sylvia lock their lips together in a slow passionate kiss. After they kiss the couple hold hands and return to their bedroom a few feet from the nursery. Matthew and Olivia continue to sleep while Albert and Sylvia begin to sink into slumber themselves.
The next morning, Christmas day they head over to the Wilders Boarding House bright and early. The day is filled packed with excitement. Laura, Sylvia and Caroline all spend the morning in the kitchen cooking ham, mashed potatoes and gravy with corn on the cob and other vegetables along with dinner rolls and desserts.
