Chapter 5: Additions to the house

Early the next day the rooster crows signaling the morning. At the Webb and Quinn farm in their bedroom Albert and Sylvia open their eyes waking up, "Good morning Mrs. Ingalls," Albert says.

Good morning also Mr. Ingalls," Sylvia says.

As the couple stretches out they smell the aroma of a newly prepared breakfast, "Wow! darling that smells so good!" Sylvia says.

"It sure does darling. You don't think the kids did? Did they?" Albert asks.

Then there's a knock on their bedroom door, "Come in," Albert says.

The door opens and their children Matthew and Olivia in their nightgowns come into the room. Both of them carrying trays with breakfast, which includes Ham, scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy with coffee, "Good morning Ma and Pa!" The children say.

"Good morning children," Their parents reply back.

"You both fixed this for us. Oh how sweet of you," Sylvia says, taking her tray from Matthew.

Albert takes his tray from his daughter, Olivia smiling at her, "We are so proud of you both. I was wondering how you both was able to fix us breakfast? Albert asks.

Olivia holds her flower necklace up. Matthew pulls out his left arm with his golden watch on it. Both objects begin to glow lightly.

Sylvia responds, "Wow! My son and daughter."

"We just had the knowledge to fix breakfast for you Pa," Matthew says.

"Yeah and it's so fun cooking in the kitchen." Olivia says.

Albert and Sylvia look at each other smiling. It seems that the children's gifts they have gotten from the Lord gives their children the wisdom needed to do things rather then waiting to learn how to.

Matthew and Olivia go back into the kitchen and get their own trays of food and a cup of milk and they sit on each side of the bed next to their parents.

The four began eating and for a while the family just sits together enjoying their meal and being in each other's company.

After an hour or two at 10am after their breakfast and getting dressed. The superpowered family are ready to get to work on expanding their house to include one big bedroom for the kids. Albert and his son take to the air heading to the forest to gather wood for the room.

Meanwhile, Sylvia and her daughter go to the barn. They see a little bit of leftover wood from when both Sylvia and Albert used to expand their room. There is also large sheets and a bundle of Hay. It was enough to start working on two beds and to make two mattresses.

Sylvia thinks with their powers she and her daughter should be finished with the beds and mattresses by the time Albert and his son return.

"Well Olivia my daughter let's get to work, Sylvia says.

"Ok Ma!" Olivia excitedly replies. She's excited for she is about to use some of her powers for the first time.

As Sylvia is working on one bed and mattress she magically with her wedding ring glowing gets the bed frame done in just 5 minutes and in another five minutes the mattress is put together and sewed up with the hay inside of it.

Olivia is standing back watching her mother working and says, "Wow! The bed and mattress looks beautiful."

Sylvia says to her daughter, "Olivia, now let's see what you can do with the other bed and mattress."

Olivia goes to work on the second bed and mattress and her yellow necklace around her neck begins to glow and also in about 5 minutes the bed frame is done and another 5 minutes the mattress is finished and sewed up with the hay inside as well.

Sylvia looking at Olivia's work says to her daughter, "You did a beautiful job as well. The bed and mattress look good. Both beds look nice."

Olivia has a big smile on her face as she agrees with her mother.

Meanwhile out in the woods Albert and his son Matthew are able to cut down some trees and get some wood as Matthew says excitedly to his dad, "Pa that was easy as pie with the Superpowers that God gave us in your wedding ring and in my wrist watch. It took no time at all to cut that wood."

Albert agrees with his son and then he says, "But more importantly son our Superpowers are to help those who need it out on the frontier."

A few minutes later Albert and Matthew are back at the house with the wood in hand as they go in they see that the beds and mattresses are put together and Albert says to his wife and daughter, "You both did a good job while we were gone."

Albert than says to his son, "It's now time for us to get to work here as your mother and sister clean up the old cribs and put other things away."

Matthew responds to his Pa, "Yes Pa let's get to work."

In a matter of moments with no trouble at all both Albert and Matthew have the back wall knocked out of the back of the old nursey and rebuilt about 5 to 6 ft of extra space for the kids bedroom. Albert and Matthew using their super strength and speed start to install the walls with the wood. Matthew holds each plank while Albert fastens them with nails.

In the meantime inside, Sylvia and Olivia has all the debris picked and cleaned up. Then they both start installing wood on the interior floor. Olivia has made a long colorful sheet that will be used to divide the room to give her and her brother Matthew privacy as her mother works on the floor.

They now have space for the kids to place a new dresser into separate corners for them to put their clothes and other things in.

Because of their superpowers Albert, Sylvia, Matthew and Olivia are not tied and in about 2hrs. the work is finally completed.

Next Albert, Sylvia, Matthew and Olivia all stand back and survey their work as they look at the room and all agree that it is beautiful.

"Wow! Our own room! Matthew says.

"Yes son! Yours and your sister's," Albert says looking at his boy.

Sylvia says, "We have time to go over to Laura and Almanzo's house to get your grandpa, Hector Webb and to let them know that we are finished up with the house."

Albert locks up the farmhouse and starts walking over to the Wilder's Boarding House as Albert says, "Sylvia, my love I just realized our special tree is in between us and going to the Boarding House. Let's take the kids to go see the tree."

Sylvia says, "That's a good idea my love!"

Sylvia looks at her 2 children saying, "Children, We are going to take you to see a very special tree that played a major role in our lives."

Matthew and Olivia smile at ther Ma and Pa than they continue the walk toward the river and their very special tree. They stop at the tree for a moment. Sylvia reads the engraving, 'Albert Loves Sylvia' and as she touchs the engraving she says, "Oh Albert this is still so beautiful!"

Albert says, "Just like you my love!" They engage in a kiss.

Matthew and Olivia looking at their mother and father start to giggle a little and they both say, "Ma, Pa the tree is beautiful!"

They all stand back for a moment looking and smiling at the tree than Albert says, "Let's be on our way to Laura and Almanzo's."

When they arrive at the Boarding House they notice that the Ingalls are there also.They tell the whole family, "We are done with the house and if you like you can all come over and see the children's new bedroom."

The Wilders, the Ingalls and the Superpowered family all load up into the Buckboards and head over to the Webb's Farm. When the family arrives at the house they all look at the new children's bedroom and agree that it is beautiful and then Laura says, "Tomorrow being New Year's Eve we are going to have a celebration at our house and later tomorrow night we will go into Town to see the fireworks."

They all agree to have a New Year's Eve celebration at the Wilder's Boarding House along with the Town's fireworks display.

Charles and Caroline and their family as well as Laura and Almanzo and their family head back to their own places as Albert and Sylvia both say, "We will see you tomorrow."
