To Light The Darkness
On the Island of Sodor Diesel was at Tidmoth Sheds considering he had been named the acting Station Pilot for Knapford as per the orders of the NWR's board of directors. Right now, it was the end of the work day and he and the fleet were discussing the recent attack upon France and the devastation that the people and infrastructure suffered.
"The Forces of Darkness are getting bolder and bolder," Henry said, "At this rate the Templars might seize this chance to take over Blackwood Enterprises. Abstergo Industries has already taken over the Ironworks at Barrow in Furness and they're trying to take over the Steelworks. The only thing stopping them from doing so is the Arkeyan Weapon Masters namely the LeClercs and the Fox Clan not to mention House Roberts."
"That's one saving grace but our problems have only just begun or did you not see the newspaper detailing the devastation that hit all of France not to mention what happened to the Belmonte Clan and the Kalos Railway?" Gordon added, "The damage was so bad that the Belmontes actually had to send some of their fleet over to the Steamworks for repairs since their own workshops were hit hard during the attack."
"The good news is that the damage to the city wasn't bad enough to where the Arkeyans can't fix it by normal means," James said, "The bad news is that whatever power or monster caused the damage is still out there so even if France recovers the forces of Darkness could devastate both France and the entire continent."
"It was in the papers James," Diesel spoke, "My driver says that the new threat is either magical or non-magical and it's either chemical or biological. But something doesn't add up. Toxins are usually dangerous to a certain group of people and this virus seems to have poisoned all but a select few which means that somebody is targeting a specific group of people or they were just sloppy. Either way we're in hot water yet again."
"So, what exactly are we supposed to do about the threat Diesel?" Bear asked, "The forces of Darkness are all too eager to attack and my Driver and his family were targets during the first wizarding war."
The big engines looked to Diesel for a plan considering he was the first to speak in matters involving Yzma Milano.
"For now, we observe and see what unfolds considering that Yzma's on her own and there isn't we can do for now," Diesel said, "Either way the North Western Railway's Board of Directors is in a very foul mood. Fouler than ever if I had to guess."
The fleet knew full well that ever since Kai's contacts arrived and spilled the mistakes of the Hatt Clan as a whole the Board of Director's patience was running thin which meant the next mistake could trigger another visit from the Arkeyan Empire.
At Hogwarts Professor Yzma Milano was going over a news paper of the recent attack with Professors Rosenblatt and Dumbledore. Abigail Bones Vice Chairwoman of the Hogwarts Board of Governors and needless to say problems were rising.
"Alright let's get down to business," Abigail said, "How are the changes that I allowed Albus to introduce and ask for holding up?"
"The changes are doing a great job according to my cousins and their friends," Duncan spoke up, "The truth will out bylaw is working wonders and the administrative staff are taking a lot of the weight off of Albus and so is his personal secretary. Not only that Myrtle's been much nicer ever since Yzma did some counseling with her when she returned as a ghost which is a testament to Yzma's abilities as the school counselor. Unfortunately, we have a new set of problems, relatives of students brave enough to stand up to the pureblood bigots have all wound up in the hospital and the muggle and Muggleborn members of the PTA have been poisoned by the same monster or weapon that attacked France."
"Do you have any leads on what caused the attack or who is behind such an attack to begin with?" Abigail asked the Rosenblatts, "I've already got a message from my husband and he says the French Ministry is already on edge."
"I have some suspects but I doubt I can prove it," Duncan said, "Without an accurate and proper description of the power or weapon that caused the attack we're stuck behind the eight ball and that's not the worst of it. Charlus went to see Phaedra and he got confronted by Armand."
"Why do I get the feeling this is usually the sign of more bad news," Abigail said.
"Charlus said that Armand told him that he'd best enjoy himself now for this is gonna get worse for him, his relatives, his allies and all their relatives," Duncan spoke.
"Sounds like a threat but the school bylaws forbid us from doing anything about it," Margaret Rosenblatt said annoyed before speaking to Abigail Bones "Still now that your voice is the only one that counts for the duration of Yzma's Challenge we should be able to make real progressive changes to help get Hogwarts back on track and the new magical preschool we've opened up as part of the challenge is helping with that."
Abigail smiled but she looked down and was somewhat terrified and Rosenblatts noticed right away.
"Abby is there something that you're not telling us?" Duncan spoke having figured out that Abigail was terrified of something or more accurately someone in particular.
"I told you what I know now we have to focus on Yzma's challenge," the Vice Chairwoman of the Hogwarts Board of Governors responded harshly, "Need I spell out what happens if Yzma should fail her challenge or die in the process or if her grandchildren cause any negative publicity?"
"The end of All that we know and love," Albus Dumbledore said, "So we should build a plan to make sure that none of what you described comes to pass. However, Abigail we need to trust each other in order for this to work and we cannot trust you if you're keeping information from us."
"Very well," Abigail Bones sighed seeing that she had no choice, "As you all know by now the Malfoy family despise me as it is."
"We already figured that out but from your reaction I take it there's more to the story," Duncan said, "Did Kai or his cousin Lucius threaten to have the undead attack you or your entire family if you didn't bow down to the pureblood bigots?"
"Worse than that Duncan," the Vice Chairwoman responded, "Kai threatened to send his father Varis Malfoy after me if I don't bow my knee to the Pureblood Supremacists."
"Varis Malfoy has returned to the British Isles," Albus spoke shocked, "Abigail are you Serious?"
"I'm afraid so Albus. Varis Malfoy is the strongest member of the Malfoy clan and the most fearsome member of the family in his day and he's visiting the British Isles before leaving by the end of the Christmas break. In fact, he's the reason Lucius Malfoy is Chairman of the Hogwarts Board of Governors," Abigail spoke annoyed and frightened, "He defeated the previous Chair of the board in battle and handed the seat to Lucius Malfoy. I clashed with Lucius and the blood purist bigots on the board but Lucius called upon Varis and Varis beat me in battle so badly that I would up in Saint Mungo's for nearly a month."
Albus, Duncan, and Margaret were shocked to know that the Malfoy Family yet again caused yet another roadblock in order to enforce the belief of pureblood supremacy and the fact that they could threaten somebody like Abigail Bones made it more important then ever for them to support Yzma and help her win her challenge so they could finally bring the Malfoy Clan down once and for all. Unfortunately, due to the curse upon the planet any attempts would end with them facing a massive curse or a severe level of retaliation which scared all of earth aside from the MACUSA into submission which meant they were forced on the defensive.
"Once again the Malfoys cause us even more problems than ever," Duncan growled, "I swear that once Yzma wins her challenge and sends me in to crush Kai Malfoy I'm gonna send him to the grave along with the rest of his relatives, armies, and his entire army of minions and monsters."
"Let's just help Abigail make the necessary changes to help get Hogwarts back on track first," Margaret spoke up, "Then we can put the Malfoy Clan in their places once and for all."
"Good plan but none of that helps as long as that monster or weapon that devastated France is still involved," Albus reminded, "As long as remains free there's little we can do about it. For now, we should discuss the Progress you've been making in helping the staff namely Professors Forester and Burbage in terms of Care of Magical Creatures and Non-Magical Studies respectively."
"Felix has had to fix Lockhart's mess in Defense so he asked me to support his wife Charity in Non-Magical Studies," said Duncan, "He knows dangerous creatures and beasts thanks to the training he got from the Belmontes and the Van Hellsings at Beauxbatons. His skills in Jinxes, Hexes, and Curses are a bit weak but he assumes his Aunt Yzma can cover that."
"Well, I spoke to Yzma earlier and she says that Felix can manage her Third Year Students if need be but she's got more pressing concerns at the moment," Margaret spoke, "Abigail You'll need to assign Severus to cover Defense Against the Dark Arts for the Fifth Years and above. Yzma told me that she's had to bring him in to cover the NEWT years for Defense while her assistant manages the 5th years and below. She's also had to offer one year only contracts that end a week before the actual end of the year and it's satisfied the curse on the position."
"Yeah I know about the contracts that Yzma's had to assign with Dumbledore's blessing," Abigail spoke up, "But what does this have to do with anything and what of Potions?"
"Victoria Bathory is handling Potions and she's doing great with the 5th years and below considering Severus has issues with the younger years while Victoria herself has issues with the two oldest years for Potions," Margaret explained, "She's got reasons for her issues but she's willing to put them aside considering that Lockhart is a living nightmare. Victoria's also ready to fly solo so as to let Severus fix the damage Lockhart's caused by his incompetence. Based upon this school year and her challenge Yzma is going to need a break. Regardless now that you know the question is what are we going to do?"
"We need to introduce a way to make sure that Voldemort's Minions and Kai's crew do not get away with their schemes even if we somehow bring them before the ministry like before," Abigail said, "My eldest son Alaric said that he's having a lot of problems in the form of prospective candidates ending up falling ill and all of them are either monster girls or Muggleborns or Muggle Raised Half-bloods."
"Tell your son Alaric that if anyone has a problem with him and wants his position as the Chief of Staff then they'll have to face me in a challenge for position duel to get it once Yzma's challenge is over," Duncan said, "In the mean time you must support Albus and trust the Hogwarts PTA to support and protect you and I will also protect the PTA from Varis and those who want to threaten them."
"Very well Duncan but that's not the only way Varis will come after me," the Vice Chairwoman pointed out, "Varis will most likely tell me enemies that he brutally beat me so those normally afraid of me would take revenge by attacking my family and in laws and with the vision of the Arkeyan Empire's fury still fresh in everyone's brains should Yzma fail or the Arkeyan Empire's anger finally explode and they flat out decide to destroy the Earth considering they are my people and in my case my paternal ancestors."
At that point Abigail Bones noticed that Yzma had been silent so far.
"Yzma you've been silent since we began this discussion and the only words out of your mouth were of the recent monster attack," The Vice Chairwoman spoke.
"As you know the Arkeyan Empire despises me because of my bigoted ancestors and considering how most of Slytherin House know that Kai Malfoy is in town nothing I can do would scare them and nothing Duncan or Blitz do to discipline them would ever compare to what Kai and his army will do to us," Yzma said, "While the Power Team left a strong message it turns out the effect wasn't as strong as I thought for as long as I thought. And then there's the fac my son in law's bosses are already wanting to eliminate his boss. They've already plunged all of Europe into Darkness before with the Arkeyan Empire Backing them because the people my son in law and his boss answer too are Arkeyan Weapon Masters and they were trained by an Empire Governor. So naturally the Arkeyans rule the entire universe so I fear for his life."
"Don't be afraid Yzma," Margaret said, "If the Arkeyans Wanted your head on a plate they would have done that years ago. The fact that you're still alive means you've been doing something right."
"Good point but what are the odds that the toadish hag in the ministry is gonna use this as an excuse to badmouth all of France?" Yzma asked, "Not to mention piss off the Arkeyan Empire in a way that points the blame to all of her enemies?"
"That really needs to change immediately. I can understand the Arkeyan Empire and that they take honor seriously but that does not mean destroying entire clans and civilizations should be necessary to do so," Duncan spoke, "That is something our enemies can and are already taking advantage of to eliminate all in their path."
"I'll have a word with my cousin on that but we have to do something to help Claudia," Albus said, "Which is why a month before the school year began I retired as Supreme Mugwump. Instead, I recommended to the ICW that Claudia Bosari take my place in the post.'
"Claudia is very progressive and having her in charge will help change things and get the ICW to finally start growing some backbone and attack Kai Malfoy's empire," Margaret Rosenblatt said, "At the very least the Ministries will feel some pressure to get their act together."
"Agreed but for now we best end this discussion," Yzma said, "I have a terrible feeling my sister-in-law is going to be in for a huge battle. Fortunately, Electra the Dragoness has the final say in choosing the new Supreme Mugwump and she chose well."
Albus, Yzma, Duncan, Margaret, and Abigail decided to get some sleep knowing that they'd be in for a very hard day tomorrow. Duncan returned to the cabin knowing that the only way true change would be able to start was for Yzma to win her challenge so that he could defeat Kai Malfoy and crush his entire empire once and for all.
Early next morning, Duncan got a copy of the Daily Prophet to find that the attacks had been reported and Umbridge had given her comments about the situation. Her commented included that while the monster was seen in the British Isles before vanishing no attacks occurred because the British Ministry had been run the way a ministry should've been run before the current Chief of Staff took over which was more than what she could say for the French Ministry.
Duncan growled at the comment Umbitch made as the paper showed the French Ministry having suffered the worst of the attack before heading to Hogsmeade Station since one of the duties as gamekeeper was to oversee the transfer of the supplies and mail from Sodor. It was still early morning and he thanked the lord above for the passionate night he shared with Dora and Qida to relieve the stress he had from last night. by the time he arrived at the station he could see Olton Hall aka Hogwarts Castle puffing in with the trucks as the men were unloading the packages and loading them into the wagons for the Bull Class Dragons to take into Hogsmeade and to Hogwarts Castle. Duncan was discussing with the Hall Class Locomotive about what was going on in the British Isles.
"So, what's been happening as of late on the British Isles?" Duncan said.
"Nothing much but word is that a new virus has hit all of France and it's beginning to spread all across the continent," Olton Hall said, "Word of the monster's attack is beginning to spread to the United States and once that happens all will be lost. However, I believe that if the monster goes to the United States then it could pose a big problem regardless of the outcome."
"You're right about one thing, the monster will pose a threat but whoever sent the monster is going to be in for a huge beatdown," Duncan responded, "The Americans Magical and Mundane are not the type to bow down to anyone who dares to threaten their way of life or did you forget about their response to the terror attacks of 9/11 of last year?"
"How could I forget?" Olton Hall spoke, "The Arkeyans used a lot of power to not only stop the attack but save a lot of lives before they hunted down the cowards who tried to plan such an attack. They even teamed up with MEGTAF, Section 13 and all of America's intelligence and Military Agencies to successfully eliminate the terrorists."
"So now you know what's going to happen to anyone foolish enough to attack the united states," Duncan spoke as the men unloaded the last of Olton Hall's trucks and loaded the last of the wagons, "Okay that should be the last of your trucks emptied of the supplies for Hogwarts and Hogsmeade Olton Hall. The Village hasn't been this lively since it was first built but now that it's connected to the outside world via the North Western Railway people can travel in and out and the Arkeyans can help this place grow and thrive like it has the potential to."
"Yep and rumor has it that the classes taught by Sybil Trelawny have improved greatly and she's doing a great job teaching about Divination," The GWR Hall Class Locomotive spoke, "But rumor tells Yzma's asking for a rest next year to regain her strength and reconnect as the school counselor and let Severus handle the NEWT level potions from here on out considering he's already covering the NEWT classes of potions leaving the rest to his assistant Victoria Bathory. I also heard Yzma's letting him handle defense for the 5th years and above and write some books. Is that true?"
"It is true and he's been busy writing some books as of late to display his knowledge as Yzma suggested," Duncan said annoyed that the grease mop was writing books, "As much as I despise him you can't deny he's brilliant when it comes to potions and defense. As far as Divination well that class does not use magic and it teaches mundane ways to predict the future behavior of other sentient lifeforms as well as figuring out the most likely outcome of situations. Yzma had Sybil train under Madam Flan for one year before getting the job."
"Then at least I have something to tell the rest of the fleet back on Sodor and the British Isles," Olton Hall said as her guard blew his whistle letting her know that it was time for her to depart, "Time to bolt. That's my guard's whistle and I'm still on the clock. Oh, and well done on that magical preschool."
Duncan smiled as Olton Hall puffed away knowing his mother and the potter alliance got the magical preschool up and running one year ago while his aunt Christina had put together a good set of teachers and the funding for said preschool even though one was already set up on the Island of Sodor and magical dojos were set up in Sodor, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland to allow the students to practice and train in their magic for at least two weeks before they were to return to school. England had been the final obstacle but now they too would have a magical dojo. Duncan also smiled as Tana the Time Goddess had given Harry and his Muggleborn and muggle raised half blood year mates two years' worth of training in two months and managed to do the same for this year's Muggleborn and muggle raised new students.
In Gryffindor Tower in the 2nd year Girls Dormitories Lavender Brown was in the middle of a very good dream. She was on a sandy beach with Victor potter and they were making out intensely and passionately. The only thing they noticed was the fact that they were in nothing but swimwear and currently horny. The two lovers were kissing and feeling each other up and were about to fuck when the sound of a rooster crowing rang which returned Lavender to the real world.
"Scales and I was having such a nice dream," Lavender grumbled as she yawned from the rooster's crowing outside in the chicken coop near Duncan's hut before noticing her crotch was somewhat soaked and Parvati and fellow 2nd year Fay Dunbar were awake as well.
"Lavender are you still having the same dream?" Fay Dunbar asked having been woken up.
"Yep and every time Victor and I are about to make it past first base I end up waking up," Lavender said, "Ever since I noticed Victor I've been having the same dream each night."
"Perhaps you should see Yzma Milano," Fay suggested, "She could help or better yet Professor Druella considering she is the Sex Ed Professor. I will come to. I need to talk to her about incubization and what an incubus is."
"Is there an incubus that you like or do you want to know more about them Fay?" Lavender asked as her year mate and dormmate Fay blushed bright red as her hair which let Parvati and Lavender know that Fay was in love.
"You do have somebody in mind but let's go talk to Yzma," Parvati suggested as the three got their supplies for the day since they knew about Yzma's counseling sessions and that it would take a while.
Speaking of whom Yzma Milano was having a word with Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, and Ares about the situation regarding her challenge and the effects of the outcome would have on Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic itself. Right now, rumors told that a new department was being created and the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and the Auror Department were working hard to screen candidates so Yzma had asked about that which was why the four Greek Gods in question were before her so they could talk business.
"Let's get down to business and straight to the point," Yzma said, "I have three Gryffindor Girls in 2nd year coming to see me for a counseling session so we don't have time to play 20 questions. Rumors tell that Alaric Bones is creating a new department for the British Ministry of Magic. Are any of these rumors true or not?"
"The rumors about the new department are true," Ares said, "Alaric feels such a department would make a huge difference considering the state the ministry is in and Sirius Black is willing to fund the new department and this along with helping MEGTAF and funding the new magical Preschools across the British isles to help Muggleborn and Muggle Raised Half-bloods along with pureblood families who are lawful like the Weasleys is a bonus in his book."
"Somehow I'm not surprised you'd be all for that and I'm not surprised Sirius Black would be either considering you've been training your very own assassins and that it goes against the very people he despises," Yzma said, "I didn't even know you had assassins of your own Ares. I knew Athena had her own Elite Archers but that was it."
"Neither did I but I sense that's not the only thing confusing you right now," Athena spoke.
"I need to figure out when to get rid of Lockhart without triggering the curse on the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor," The Primary Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor spoke, "In the past I used to be able to select an apprentice from continental Europe or Asia to serve as my assistant and they were competent but after the constant accidents and unfortunate fate that befell all those who were brought in by Dumbledore not to mention Quirrell's death and his final punishment after years of nothing happening since I began to hand pick the assistants once again and offering contracts that end a week before the actual school year ends nobody wants the job. They're all too terrified of sharing Quirrell's final punishment of eternal torture at the hands of the Arkeyan Empire. Fortunately, I have a plan set into motion for the next four school years."
"And that brings up a very simple but important question," Artemis said, "What exactly is the plan?"
"With the rumors of the new department confirmed I already thought up a plan and have it in motion," Yzma said, "I had a word with the Headmaster and we have a defense teacher lined up for the next year and somebody new to take the reins as head of Slytherin House. Well new to the muggleborns at any rate. The new head of Slytherin will also cover potions class."
"Does that mean you and Albus are getting rid of Victoria and Severus?" Aphrodite questioned.
"Actually no. Albus and I still need Severus and we need him to train not just Alastor's cadet Dora Tonks but also the other Aurors and anyone else being recruited for the DMCO," Yzma said, "The Defense Education they got is uneven and most of the staff at the ministry can't even cast a simply shield charm. The Monster Girls and Incubi however can."
"This is much worse than we thought," Athena said, "Let's hope you know what you're doing Yzma. On a more serious note, you asked your brother Howard about the Witch blade."
"I did and despite my family's objections the French Ministry insisted on putting the witch blade on display," the current Head of Slytherin House said, "Despite the Heavy guard I still feel the switchblade should be moved to a less vulnerable location like say a MEGTAF holding facility."
"We could move it to Olympus," Ares suggested, "There's no way any mere mortal can reach it up there."
"That's a great idea Ares but there's just one little issue," Yzma spoke, "I risk my enemies blabbing and accusing me of theft of property from the French Ministry and you know how much my enemies such as the French Branch of the Lestranges would love nothing more than to eliminate me and the rest of my family along with the LeClercs and the Delacours."
"So much for that thought," Aphrodite chimed in as everyone glared at her, "What I don't hear you coming up with any better ideas."
"I have a suggestion," Artemis suggested, "Why not let the victor of a contest or trial win the witch blade?"
"Artemis the witch blade is a powerful and dangerous magical artifact," Athena spoke to the Goddess of the Hunt, "It is not a trophy to be won in a competition such as a dragon race. Thank the light that the Horn of Libris is out of range and safe in MEGTAF's main base which is one less concern at any rate."
"Even I'm not that reckless and that's saying something," Ares said, "Considering I'm the god of War and Violence."
"Speaking of reckless I can't believe Adara and her dragon steed went into battle against some wild dementors that somehow got to Sodor and one of them attacked Harry and his sisters three days after they arrived their in the summer before Harry started attending Hogwarts," Aphrodite said shivering at the memory, "It was really scary but they are very lucky that they did not lose their souls in the process. Even so the really shocking thing was that when said dementor was holding Harry it was hit causing both it and Harry's head to collide with the dementor's mouth landing on Harry's forehead right where his scar was."
"Adara apologized left and right since she thought it was her negligence in the heat of the battle that nearly costed Harry, Daisy, and Abigail their souls," Yzma said remembering what her Goddaughter's mother-in-law said, "Fortunately the Dragon Priesthood and the Assassin Brotherhood managed to talk or in some cases dope slap some sense into her. Still the dementor attack turned from a near tragedy to the best thing that could've happened to Harry."
"Yes indeed considering the only think the dementor sucked and ate was the soul fragment of Voldemort that was in the scar in Harry's forehead," Ares said, "Harry's got more luck than the best poker players on this planet."
"For once Ares we agree on that but regardless I still need you and the Greek Pantheon to help me remove the curse on the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor," Yzma spoke to the Greek Gods.
Aphrodite, Artemis, Athena, and Ares understood but they had some more issues and concerns to bring up but the doorbell rang which meant Yzma was expecting company in the form of an early morning counseling session.
"That's the bell which means it's time for my counselling session," Yzma said getting a bathrobe to put on.
"You're having a counseling session dressed in a bathrobe over a nightgown?" Aphrodite said confused.
"Yes and that's rich considering the fact you walk around in lingerie. Either way I don't have time to change clothes," Yzma said to the Greek Goddess of Love, "Besides I'm actually more comfortable doing consoling in little more than a nightgown."
"Let's hope the students in question don't see more than they should in sex ed class for their age," Athena spoke, "Then again we need not worry about it considering the way Druella and Margaret Rosenblatt have taught the class with some help from Madam Pomfrey."
"Indeed, considering how you feel a full detailed explanation is important but did you have to show the third years and above that video of that woman giving birth and the aftermath?" Artemis the Goddess of the Hunt and Wildlife questioned.
"It's nothing they haven't seen yet and it's better they learn now than stumble into it later," Yzma said as her bathrobe was open exposing her silk nightgown, "Besides Poppy wants to hammer home the consequences of unprotected sex to both genders."
"She's got a point," Ares said, "Anyway we better go check on our relatives on Sodor and deliver some news to them about their allies and the ministry. Things are starting to get worse now that Kai Malfoy's in town despite the new bylaws you plan to introduce to Hogwarts and the Ministry."
The Gods left to do that as the door opened after Yzma unlocked it allowing Lavender, Parvati, and Fay to enter and sit on the couches.
"Welcome girls," Yzma spoke, "I wasn't expecting to see you three but somehow I'm not surprised."
"Yeah anyway there's something we need to talk to you about," Lavender spoke.
Yzma understood as she began her job as the school counselor.
On the Island of Sodor, Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, and Ares were discussing their next set of moves.
"I know Tana told us that we need to help keep tabs on our allies and protect her descendants but shouldn't we have Hermes with us for this?" Artemis asked.
"There's no time to wait on him," said Athena, "Besides Tana sent him to warn the American Potters and the rest of their allies about a possible attack on their bases."
