Emerald awoke from a good dream hearing Black Velvet blare from her phone. She groaned getting up and instinctively turned off the alarm before she froze while looking at the device.

That's not her scroll, she thought looking it. It was not completely flat and had a minty green color with her emblem on it as a sticker. While looking it at it, she noticed a ring on her manicured fingers.

"Wait, when did I get a manicure? And when I get a ri—That's a wedding ring." Emerald whispered out staring at the ring. "Am I dreaming?"

She looked around clearly realizing she was NOT in Salem's castle. No, the walls were not a continous reminder that you're working for the Queen of Darkness. Instead, they were normal cream walls and there was a homely feel to it. Emerald looked around as it looked like an ordinary bedroom for two. Emerald got out of bed and had a double take at what she was wearing. Lingerie. Seafoam green sheer on top and no panties on the bottom. In fact, the pair were on the floor.

"What the hell happened last night?" Emerald thought blushing.

She turned to the mirror and nearly yelped. She looked older. Her hair was a grown out and she had a more mature look to her. She had guessed she was in her early to mid twenties looking a bit motherlier then before. She froze and peered back at the bed, there was another sleeping in the bed. She crept up to that person, her mind racing on who it was. So many possiblites, she thought. The moment she got closer to the bed, there was a familiar groan as blaring rock came out of a grey phone on nightstand. Out from the sheets, Emerald's eye twitched.

"Well that's just dandy." Emerald thought under her breath as Mercury got up. "He does look kinda hot older though."

Mercury yawned and looked up at Emerald.

"I have to be dreaming because that's no way you'd dress up like that for little ol' me." Mercury said eyeing every inch.

"Um, Mercury? Your legs…" Emerald said pointing to them.

Mercury looked down to see seemingly fleshy legs, but she shrugged it off saying he missed his robotics.

"We're clearly not at Salem's castle, and you're not concerned!" Emerald exploded. "And put on some pants."

"Well, from the looks of things, we had plenty fun last night." Mercury said chuckling. "You got hickeys all over your neck."

Emerald could only sputter and blush saying why would she ever sleep with him. She was saying this while trying not to look at the big reason why.

"Aside from the obvious, I must be doing it well." Mercury said noticing a table with photos. "You did marry me."

Emerald was seriously wondering if this was some giant illusion she was having as a dying dream, but she was realizing this was real. She could feel her semblance, but not her aura. It did not make any sense. Emerald looked at the photo in Mercury's hand, a wedding picture. He had her in his arms bridal style while they shared a kiss.

"This place doesn't feel like Remnant at all. It just all feels we're…" Emerald said as Mercury finished. "in an alternative universe. I'm pretty sure we are. Because…"

Mercury's legs revealed themselves to cybernetic as he smirked saying, "I'm pretty sure I don't have those awesome cybernetics. Seriously…they hide guns in them!"

"Aren't you concerned?!" Emerald roared.

"No. Remnant kind of sucks, and we really don't have any reason to want to be back there." Mercury said calmly.

"But I'm married…to you!" Emerald said scarastically. "What next? We have kids?"

Emerald looked out the window to see a rather normal neighborhood while Mercury hid a picture out of Emerald's view while snickering. The neighborhood looked serene and peaceful, the kind you'd see on a sitcom. The paperboy rode by.

"Morning, Mrs. Bla…." CRASH!

He had taken one look at the lingerie-clad Emerald and crashed his bike into their trashcan. Immediately feeling self-consicous, she dipped back in get on a robe. Mercury had gotten on some clothes all the while having a shit-eating grin.

"What's so funny?" Emerald asked crossing her arms.

"Oh nothing, I just think you look lovely." Mercury teased as they left the room.

The pair came out of the bedroom to see the hall leading to the stairs down only to see three doors. One was clearly a bathroom, but the other two were bedrooms. Emerald entered one to see it was a bedroom for a little girl and was horrified. She…couldn't be a mother! She ran to other one as Mercury simply broke down laughing.

"You bastard!" Emerald screeched punching Mercury in the shoulder. "You knew we have kids."

"Twin girls. I must have done it good to get twins." Mercury said proudly.

Emerald would have punched him again only to hear, "Mommy? Daddy?" come out. They turned to see that one of the twins came up the stairs looking for them. She had a light shade of brown, silvery-green hair, her mother's eyes wearing an oversized t-shirt with some rock band on it and shorts. She was dragging a stuffed rabbit. She could not have any older than four and her wide eyes made Mercury melt.

"Is something wrong?"

"No, Sapphire. It's nothing…let's just get downstairs for breakfast." Mercury said going on autopilot scooping her up.

Emerald meekly followed as she observed more of the house. All around she knew she had a hand in the décor. The television was on playing some cartoons at the moment and she knew the other daughter. Melanie Black was clearly daddy's girl looking more like him and wearing darker colors. She had a stuffed wolf toy next to her. Melanie noticed the movement and walked into the kitchen. Breakfast was a quiet affair as Emerald sat at the table awkwardly eyeing her daughters. On the one hand, they were adorable. On the other hand, they were a product of her…and him. Her cheeks flushed red-hot at the memories at the conception. Mercury didn't care that he had daughters now. He just hoped his father was dead in this world, because he had a lot more reason to have him dead. Mercury cooked breakfast for everyone which Emerald just saw as out of character, but the twins were excited for pancakes.

"Oh, mom. You told me to remind you and dad to pick up Uncle Max from camp." Melanie chirped.

"I have a brother?" Emerald asked confused.

Faint memories came. From what could gather, they were half-siblings and their mother was…well a supreme entitled woman who should have never had kids. Apparently, she found out about Max and was fighting for custody as a legal guardian. Emerald got up seeing a pile of letters on the coffee table, being official forms. From the looks of them, she got Max away from their mother.

"Of course, you have a brother, mommy." Sapphire said confused as to why Emerald would say that.

"I do, I was just joking." Emerald said as Mercury put down breakfast. "Oh wow, that looks delicious."

Mercury only smirked as Melanie tore into her blueberry pancakes spraying syrup into it. Mercury put down Emerald's plate as she sat to eat only to get trolled with a kiss before Mercury sat to eat.

"This bastard lucky this breakfast looks good or I'd punch him." Emerald thought before eating.

With breakfast eaten, Mercury and Emerald had returned up to their room for a shower and a change of clothes. Mercury suggested going in together only for Emerald to shove him in the shower slamming the shower door in his face. While he showered, Emerald looked around the room to get more details on her apparently new life. What she found only produced more whining. She was a teacher's assistant at an elementary school. She had no idea what possess her other to seek work in that field. As for Mercury, she was flabbergasted to see his job…basically being a superhero. He even had a costume and license. Mercury came out the shower telling Emerald she could go in only to see her holding his costume.

"From memory serves being a superhero pays rather well." Mercury said as Emerald groaned. "And you dig the suit."

"Other me had to be drunk when she married you." Emerald said jokingly. "Well, at least she had some taste."

"Warming up to me already? I could join you in the shower." Mercury asked.

"We have to pick up my brother, remember? Rather not be late to get him." Emerald said going for the bathroom.

She sighed as she got in the shower realizing this was her life now. She supposed it could be worse, but then she felt a pair of hands on her waist.

"Mercury!" Emerald said redfaced.

"You missed a spot." Mercury whispered into her ear getting her to shiver.

Mercury was more than happy to play husband, and Emerald was slowly getting a reminder of what she saw that morning. Emerald sighed as he nibbled at her neck.

"Look…we do need to pick up my brother. So…just a quickie." Emerald said biting her lip. "Consider it lucky, it's you."

"At least we never have to see Cinder again." Mercury said with a smirk.

And then they meet the babysitter….

(A/N: Wah wah. Don't worry, that version of Cinder isn't a raging douche-waffle. I wanted to try something experimental. Don't worry, you're getting a sequel to this in the future. For now, we're getting more Emercury!)
