*Hailey pov* I am quickly getting dressed and packing the stuff I will need for tonight. Dress, check, straightener, check, hairdryer, check, makeup, check, heels, check. Jay and I are going out for a late lunch then are going back to his place to get ready for the party at Med. But as far as Vanessa and the rest of the team knew I was going to meet some old high school friends at an old lake house. We both decided that it would be best, for now, to keep their relationship a secret. "Hey Hails, have you left yet?" I heard Vanessa call as I walked in downstairs. "No, I was just about to. What did you need?" I say as I walk down the stairs with my bag of party preparation ideas. "I was gonna ask, are you gonna come home before the party, but by that bag on your shoulder, I have my answer." I laughed, "Yeah, I am gonna get ready at the lake house and then probably go straight to Med." "Ok have fun." As I walked out I said, "Oh I will." trying to sound overly excited.
*Vanessa pov* As Hailey was leaving she seems a little too excited. She said she was seeing some of her old high school friends, but I did not buy it. I might be able to get something out of her after the party. We will see if I even remember to ask her.
*Jay pov* I am at our usual table near the back of the restaurant. We choose Bartoli's because we both were in love with their amazing deep dish. I got a text from Hailey saying she had arrived. When I heard her come, in I did not turn around just in case someone we both knew was there. It was harder than we thought to keep our relationship a secret. Hailey said she was running out of lies to tell Vanessa. During the few nights she had stayed over, she told Vanessa that her brother needs someone to watch his kids overnight. "Hey, you!" I hear from behind us as I feel her wrap her arms around me "Well hello to you too gorgeous," I said. "I already ordered our usual, pepperoni deep dish and two cokes." "You know me so well, but what will you eat?" she said letting out a little chuckle. As we are eating the pizza she says, "I can't wait for the party tonight, and for you to see me in the new dress I bought," with that cute devious smirk I have seen on more than one occasion. "Oh really, I can't wait either now," I say as I reach over the table to try and grab the last piece of pizza. She smacks my hand and says, "Mine!" "Are you still gonna fit into your dress after eating half this pizza?" I say with a little chuckle. She looks at me and says, "hahaha super funny chuckles." "Oh okay then have at it"
*Hailey pov* I look at my watch, then at Jay and say, "We should probably head out so I can start getting ready for the party." "You need two hours to get ready? How much work does it take?" he says. I raise her eyebrow, "I never said the whole time was for getting ready," I say as I grab his truck keys and start to walk out. I went to my car and grabbed my bag, then headed to his truck, unlocking it and hopping into the passenger seat. He walks out and sees me in the car and just laughs, starting to walk a little faster. As we are driving to his place, he asks me, "Did you bring your whole bathroom in that bag or what?" Then I started to explain to him everything I had in my bag and that I had to use all of it to look perfect. "Ok, geez I am sorry I asked now," he said laughing. When we get to his place we go upstairs. I throw my bag down on the bedroom floor, then shoved him onto the bed. "You want to do this now it will probably cut into your makeup time?" Jay said. I crawl on top of him and pin his arms down. I whisper, "Oh I am very sure." then I plant a kiss right on his soft gentle lips. *An hour later* I am laying with Jay's strong arm wrapped around me. I could stay here forever. But I glanced at myself in the mirror. I carefully shimmied out of bed trying not to wake Jay from his sleep. I went to the bathroom to shower cause we both had gotten a little sweaty.
*Jay pov* I wake up to the sound of my shower turning off. As I roll over to face the bathroom door, Hailey is walking out in my towel. "Oh you showered, why did you not wake me up? I would have joined you," I say as we both smile at each other. "Well," she said, "I am gonna start getting ready, and having you in there might have distracted me." "I'm offended." I say, "well you look really good in my towel you know." as I start to walk over to her. I plant a kiss on her lips and we start moving towards the bed. "Ah no, I have to get ready," she says as she pulls away. "Aw well, then I might just lay here and enjoy the view as you get ready," I say. She looks at me and laughs saying, "Why don't you shower too cause you look a little sweaty, and tired" "Well I wonder why?" I say. I go to the bathroom and shower too.
*Hailey pov* While Jay is showering I start to do my hair. I blow dry it then I plug the straightener in. I am almost done straightening my hair when Jay walks out of the bathroom with just a towel around his waist. "You know you are making hard to not want to shove you back onto that bed," I say looking him up and down. "Oh really," he says as he scoops me up and carries me to the bed. We flop down onto the bed and he kisses my neck. I knew we had to get ready but it was so hard to resist this. All of the sudden, my phone started ringing. We both ignored it as we both melted farther into each other. Then I snapped out and went reaching for my phone. As I broke our kiss Jay says, "No no no!" I look at my phone and it shows Vanessa calling me. I answer the phone, "Hey Vanessa, I am driving to the house quickly because I forgot my purse for the party then I will be right there." "Ok well hurry up everyone else is here already. Well except for Jay, weird right, he is normally always on time," Vanessa said fishing. "Yeah that is weird well I have to go but I will see you there," as I hang up.
*Hailey pov* I go grab my dress that was hanging in the guest room. I had bought a short red dress, that shaped my body perfectly. I put was putting it on as Jay walked out of the bathroom from doing his hair. "Well hello," he says with a little shocked look on his face. "What?" I ask thinking something was wrong. "Nothing you just look magnificent in that dress." "Ah thanks, babe. Now we have to go or people might get suspicious." As we walk down the stairs I realize, "Shit we forgot you had to drop me off to get my car." "Well, I can drive you and just say I texted asking if you wanted a ride cause you are going to drink tonight if I know you at all." "Ok yeah they will buy that ok, now let's go." As we are driving, I text Vanessa that Jay was driving me. She responds with just an oh really why? I told her that he offered since I was going to be drinking tonight and he was not. She responds with a simple oh ok.
*Jay pov* We pull up to Med and I hand the keys to the vault. Hailey looks and me and says, "professional mode, and that means no looking at my ass." I put my hands up in surrender and say, "Ok then let's go." We walk in, the place was all decked out. To me, it looked like a low-budget high school prom. "Hey Jay, Hailey," I hear Adam call us over to a table where the rest of the team was already standing. Hailey when over to Vanessa's side. "What are you two drinking tonight?" Adam asked. "Rosé for me please," Hailey says. "None for me tonight," I say as I see Adam put a playful frown on his face. After Ms. Godwin welcomed everyone to the party the DJ started playing music and people were dancing. At this point pretty much everyone on the team was a few drinks in. I watched as Adam and Kev pulled Kim and Vanessa out to the dance floor. Vanessa tried to pull Hailey with her. "I look like an idiot when I dance sober, so I don't want to be a drunk dancing idiot," she says. Vanessa looks and her and then at me and says, "Ok you two boring people have fun," and danced away.
*Hailey pov* It had been a few more songs and a few more drinks for me. So I turn to Jay and say, "So want to go join them?" "Nah I am good just watching you guys," he said laughing. "Fine be a dud then," and I go join the rest of the people on the dance floor. Right as I get to the unit and a couple of the guys from Firehouse 51 the DJ starts playing Despacito and everyone goes a little crazy. Vanessa grabs my hands and starts salsa dancing with me. I start laughing and getting into the dance. Adam comes up to us and says, "You couldn't get him out her Hails," looking over at Jay who is watching us. "Nope, he is either too much of a dud or thinks he would be able to keep up with us," I say loud enough for Jay to hear. After hearing this he starts walking over and starts dancing. I look at Adam and go, "He just needed a little challenge." As the song keeps playing Kim, Vanessa, Stella, Brett, Foster, Natalie, and I were all dancing together. We were grinding on each other and watching as the guys laughed at us.
*Jay pov* As the song ends the DJ says, "Now all the guys clear the floor cause this is the ladies' dance." We all start laughing as the girls start showing us off the dance floor. They did not even know what song was coming but they all look prepared to own it. Especially, Hailey, she looked smoking in the dress she had bought and had let her guard down a little after a couple of drinks Adam, Kev, Kelly, Casey, Joe, and Will walk back to the table that had all their drinks on it. The DJ started playing the next song, and all the girls knew exactly what song it was.
*Hailey pov* As soon as the next song started, all of us looked and each other with excitement. It was Fergiolious which is such an iconic song, we all knew the lyrics. As we were approaching the rap portion everyone was looking around to see who would sing it. When it started, I just started rapping, "All the time I turn around brothas gather round, always looking at me up and down looking at my uh. I just wanna say it now, I ain't tryin' to round up drama, little mama I don't wanna take your man. And I know I'm comin' off just a little bit conceited. And I keep on repeating how the boys wanna eat it. But I'm tryin' to tell you that I can't be treated like clientele cause they say she delicious." Everyone was hyping each other up as we were all spinning and twerking. At one point Vanessa whispers something to Kim. Then they both danced over to me. Vanessa said, "Jay has been looking at your ass the whole time we have been dancing you know that right?" "No, he has not," I say spinning around to see if I could tell, "He's just watching us all dance." "Yeah sure he was watching you dance not us," Kim said as the song ended and we made our way back to the table. When we join the boys Adam, Kim, Kev, and Vanessa all go to get some more drinks, not that they needed them. After they were out of earshot I turn and look at Jay.
*Jay pov* Hailey turns and looks and me with her little pissed off face. "You might want to try a little harder at the whole not looking at my ass thing cause Kim and Vanessa saw it," she whispers. I respond with, "Well it is so hard not to look at it when it looks so damn good in that dress right now." She tries to hide her smile and little chuckle but I heard it. "Well there was a reason I bought it," she says as her eyes move to someone coming up behind me. It was Herrmann, he said, "Hey guys tell the rest of the team, drinks at Molly's once this is over." "Okay, we will be there," I say. He smiles and walks away. By this time the rest of the team is back and I tell them. "Yo guys Herrmann said drinks at Molly's after this ends." Everyone says okay and we enjoy the rest of the party. When the party ended we all went to our cars and met at Molly's less than five minutes later. As we all walk in I see Stella behind the bar plugging in her phone, and she said, "We are gonna keep the party going here with some 2000s and 2010s jams," and she hits shuffle. All the girls made there was to the dance floor because the first song was Anaconda. Adam, Kev, and I watched Stella pour shots for all the girls on the dance floor as the song started.
*Hailey pov* After we take the shots Stella poured us we get onto the dance floor. To go with the song we all started twerking and grinding on each other. Most of us knew the lyrics, I knew them all. I could hear the guys in the background laughing at us. As we all take turns kind of dancing in the center, we were just having a ball. When it was Kim's turn in the middle she was out there doing her thing and I hear Adam yell, "Who has some single for my girl?" causing us all to laugh. Kim walked out of the center as the last little rap section starts and I decide why not. I go into the center and start rapping, "Yeah, he love this fat ass, hahaha! Yeah!" As I am grinding and dancing I look over at Jay and he is watching me with his beautiful green eyes. I drop it down to the floor and pick it back up and end the song. As the song ended we all went back to our tables. When we get back to the table Kev asks, "Who was it I heard rapping the whole thing." Everyone looked at Vanessa but she shook her head and along with Kim pointed at me. "Damn Hails," Adams says. "Well, that is what public education gets you. You don't remember anything from your classes but you remember all the lyrics to dirty rap songs you heard," I say. We spent another hour just drinking, talking, and of course, dancing.
*Jay pov* As everyone is at the bar paying their taps Hailey stubbles back to the table and says she is ready to go. I look down and she does not have her shoes on. "Hails where are your shoes?" "Oh probably in the pile over there," as she points to a pile of thrown-off shoes. I over and pick up her shoes as Vanessa is doing the same. She looks at me and goes, "How do you know what Hailey's shoes look like?" "Well she told me the brand and color and I think these are it." "Oh okay, yeah those are hers." She walks back up to the bar with her heels in her hand. I walk over to the table Hailey was sitting at. We went and said bye to everyone at the bar. Kev said she was taking Vanessa home and Adam said the same with Kim because we all knew they would not pass a breathalyzer test. I helped her into the passenger seat. I get in and say, "Want to stay at my place tonight?" She looks at me and says, "Well I have a change of clothes on your floor already so why not?" I laugh as I start driving.
*Hailey pov* We arrive at Jay's place, still laughing from the car ride. We walk in and as soon as he shuts the door I plant a big fat kiss onto his lips. I wrap my arms around his neck almost levitating myself off the ground. He wraps his arms around my waist and picks me up. He carries to one of the rooms not even turning on the lights. I guess since we had done walks like these a couple of times, we knew our way around. But I was too focused or wasted, to notice that we were not in his room. We were in the bathroom. I did not realize until he placed me down in the shower, thus breaking our contact. I give him a questioning look and say, "Not that I don't like the idea-" I was interrupted by the spray of cold water that fell when he turned the water on.
*Jay pov* "Well I wanted you to be a little sober for tonight," I say with a slight chuckle. By this point, her dress is almost completely soaked. She grabs me by my half unbuttoned dress shirt, fulling me forward into the cold water. The water is cascading over us as we resume our previous activities. I unzip her dress, it falls off her, as she finishes unbuttoning my shirt. Untucking it from my pants. I look at her a say, "You sober enough now?" "Oh hell yeah I am," she says with a devious little smirk. I pick her up, bringing her to my room. I could hear her adorable little laugh as I put her down on the bed. "You know Kim and Vanessa have bets on us right," she says, using a towel from earlier to dry her hair a little. "Oh really, what about? When we will get together?" I ask. She looks at me and says, "Well they swear we are dating, so they have one on that, how long it will take till we admit it. And I am like ninety percent sure they have one for if we aren't dating, how long till we get together." I laugh and then change the subject to something much more interesting to both of us.
*Vanessa pov* After we settle our taps at the bar, Adam, Kim, Kev, and I walk out of Molly's. I go and stand next to Kim whispering something in her ear. Adam says, "What you two drunk girls talking about now?" "Well I was telling her how she is gonna have to pay me tomorrow if my hunch is right," I say wobbling a little. Kev laughs and says, "Now what bet is that and what hunch?" Kim says, "Well just a little wager we have on if Jay and Hailey are dating." "Or well maybe not dating just doing each other," I say with a little laugh, "and my hunch is that they are hooking up right now." Kev looks at Adam and says, "Well do you want to check your hunch?" waving his phone. I forgot we can ping their phones and find where they are. Adam looks at us, "Whos place do you think they are at?" Kim responding, "Oh Hailey's place for sure." I shake my head disagreeing with her, "They are definitely at his place."
*Kev pov* I start tracking the location of Jay's phone. "He is at his place," I say to everyone waiting to see if Rojas's hunch was right. "Now drumroll please," Adam says patting his legs to make the sound effect. I track Hailey's phone. When I see where it is I turn to Kim and say, "Pay Vanessa her money cause both their phones pinging at his place right now." "I wonder if she ever actually went to see her old friends," Rojas mutters, barely audible. "Wait, what?" Kim asks to know exactly what she said. "At like one Hailey left saying she was gonna see some of her old high school friends at an old lake house. She had a bag packed saying it was stuff to get ready for the party cause she was gonna get ready at the lake house. But when I called her she said she was going by the house before she came to get something. Then I get the text that Jay is driving her instead," Rojas explained herself. We all looked very curious to know the answer ourselves. We said our goodbyes and headed to our cars. Right as I was about to open the door I hear Kim, "Hey anyone else wants to go bust them?" I look at Vanessa and Adam with a smirk, "Why the hell not." "This is gonna be fun," Adam said before we all headed over to Jay's place.
*Hailey pov* I come out of the bathroom in Jay's sweats and shirt after taking my party makeup off. "Jay where are you?" I called, not seeing him in the bedroom. "I'm down here, and I just ordered pizza," he yelled up. As I walk down starts I respond, "Where did you order from it is almost three in the morning." "I know people around here," he says with that cute little smile. "Oh really," I say as I wrap my arms around him and kissing him. He lifts me onto the kitchen island as we continue to kiss. It feels like it goes on forever until it is interrupted by the doorbell ringing. He breaks our kiss to say, "Go get some plates from that cabinet please?" "Ok while you get the pizza!" I said excitedly. He goes and walks to the door.
*Jay pov* I walk and get my wallet and head to the door. I open it and find the rest of the team standing at my door, still in their party outfits. "What are you guys doing here?" I ask. Vanessa says, "Well when I got home Hailey was not there and she was not picking up her phone. I kinda freaken and called them. Then I remembered you were the one who drove her home. So do you know where she is?" I stand there still dumbfound that they are all on my doorstep at three in the morning. Kim raised her eyebrow and said, "Earth to Jay are you gonna answer her?" As she says this I hear Hailey's voice saying, "What are you having a full conversation with this guy where is the pi-" she stops as she reaches the door and sees the team there. I see her start to turn red, like very red.
*Vanessa pov* "Well that answers my question," I say raising my eyebrow then looking at the rest of the team. They are all hiding their smiles, but not very well.
*Hailey pov* I feel my face getting even hotter, which means I am probably as red as a tomato. "Hey guys," I say trying not to sound too embarrassed. I look at Jay as he still is kind of in shock. I see Kim hand, Vanessa, a twenty-dollar bill. "What the hell did y'all bet of this time?" I asked sounding a little angrier. "How the probability that we would find something on this trip," Vanessa says waving the twenty. As I grab the money from her hand I say, "Can I please talk to these two alone." I give Adam and Kev a death look and turn to Jay giving him the same look. He motions for them to go into the house. As the front door closes I turn back to Kim and Vanessa probably the most pissed I have ever been. I don't know if it was the fact that we had been caught or that I was still pretty drunk, but I was furious with them. Kim completely unphased by my death stare says, "So how was it? Wait no start with when did it start? Where did it start?" "How long has this been going? How many times? Oh, how many times?" Vanessa adds. "You know I could kill you both right now right? And what makes you think we did anything?" They look me up and down, and Vanessa says, "Well for starters you are wearing his sweats and t-shirt." "Oh and the fact that you have major sex hair," Kim adds with complete seriousness. I just sighed and looked at them, "Do the guys want to know this stuff too?" "Well they will probably ask us for the details so if you two just want to tell us all that would work," Kim said. "Fine then," I say opening the door leading them inside.
*Jay pov* After Hailey's death stared the guys into my place I just brought them to the kitchen. We stand there in silence hearing the muffled Hailey yelling at the other two girls. Adam breaks the silence by saying, "So are you gonna tell us anything, or are we gonna have to ask the girls?" "Well what I can say depends on what she is saying to them which right now just sounds like a parent lecturing their child," I said nodding towards the front door. "Well that might take a while so are you gonna offer us drinks or what?" Kev says. We are just standing in the kitchen when we hear the front door open and the girl comes in. Hailey nods directing me to the hallway. "Well, we might as well tell them now right?" Hailey said a little nervous. I nod responding, "Yeah it is probably best to not leave it to their imaginations." I kiss her forehead before we walk back to the kitchen.
*Hailey pov* We walk back to the kitchen as they all have drinks and are sitting on the island bar stools. "Well might as well start at the beginning right?" I say looking at Jay. Then taking a sip from the bottle of bourbon they poured their drinks from, making Jay talk first. "You guys remember the night two weeks back where Stella kept pouring shots for all the girls and they got extremely wasted," he said as Kev and Adam nodded. Kim and Vanessa shook their heads a little confused. "Don't worry, I didn't remember that night till the next morning. Well, he brought me here instead of bringing me to our apartment leaving us together. Well, the next morning I woke up and he had to explain what happened cause I did not remember anything after Molly's." "When I got her inside she kind of drunken kissed me. I stopped it before anything happened. But she passed out on the couch a few minutes later. Then next morning I explained everything to her, she was kinda embarrassed," he paused looking at me to make sure I was ok. I looked back and him to reassure him. Our little moment was cut short by Kev waving his hand and saying, "Yo earth to Jay and Hailey." "So after he explained everything I was very much embarrassed but something in me told me to try and kiss him again, sober this time." I look back at Jay again, and he has his cute little smile.
*Jay pov* I break Hailey and I's eye contact when I see Vanessa give a ten-dollar bill to Kim. "What the hell is this bet now?" "Well I said it had been only two to three weeks, but Vanessa said it had been a month. But please continue," Kim said. "Ok so that is when it started and we both decided that it would be best to keep it private. We would go out on lunch dates mostly, but a few dinner dates," I say. "So all the nights you were quote babysitting your nephews you were with him?" Vanessa asked Hailey. She nods taking another big sip of bourbon from the bottle. "To be honest guys, I was surprised it took y'all this long to bust us," she says a little drunker than before. "Why did y'all do it at the district or something?" Kev asked jokingly. But Hailey and I look at each other and remembered the time we had a really hot makeout session in the locker room after everyone else left for Molly's. "Oh my god, guys please tell me you did not do it in the locker room?" Adam said looking at us. "We didn't do it," she said, "we almost did it," she finished with that cute little smirk. That was greeted with sighs and one quiet "nice" coming from Kim.
*Hailey pov* I look at Vanessa and say, "And earlier I did not go to an old lake house." "Well I kind of put that together since he knew which shoes were your without you telling him," she said. I look back at Jay and say, "They is pretty much everything, so trade your money now. And any other questions?" Adam, Kim, and Vanessa all hand Kev ten bucks each, as we give them a look. Kev goes, "Thank you for not trying to hide it. Cause they all thought y'all were gonna make up a lie," he says as we all turn to the other three. "Really?" I say. Kim responds, "Well you two are good at lying to our faces." I nod to approve of that statement. "Now I hate to be the one that asks, but does Voight know?" Adam questions turning all eyes back to us. We both shake our head no. "And we would like it to stay that way I little longer, ok?" Jay says receiving nods from the four people sitting in front of us.
*Jay pov* After a few more drinks and a little more talking we led our unexpected guesses to the door. As I shut the door, Hailey wraps her arms around me from behind saying, "Did that just happen?" "Yeah, I think it did." "Do I still have sex hair? Cause Kim said besides the fact that I was in your clothes, I had major sex hair," she asked as I turned around to look at her. I respond by saying, "I mean if I did my job right!" I said with a chuckle, "it is just a little less noticeable now," I added. "Well, do you want to go fix that?" Hailey asks as she starts to walk upstairs taking my t-shirt off slowly.
