Hey y'all. Here is the next chapter!
MESSAGE: I am under the impression that Harry's year is tiny compared to others since most of them were born towards the end of the year. Most adults were more focused on the war then having kids.
Disclaimer: I don't own HP
Harry nearly ran into the wall as he turned sharply around the corner. He stood face to face with someone who had not seen in five years. Immediately he had his wand up and stood ready to face whatever happened next. Harry shot him a glare, "Who are you?" The man who looked like Remus gave him a warm smile, "You know who I am Harry. The map never lies." Harry shot him a suspicious look. The elder man simply smiled at him, knowing exactly what the question going through his head was, "Yes I know you were looking at the map. If you hadn't been, you wouldn't be standing here right now. I can also prove to you who I am. After Bill and Fleur's wedding, I found you, Ron, and Hermione at Grimauld Place. I wanted to come with you three on your journey. I said that your father would have wanted me to go with you three. You rightly threw me against the wall and called me out. You said that your dad wouldn't have wanted me to be a coward and leave my wife. You were right of course. I went back to Tonks and begged her forgiveness. She was pregnant with our son Teddy, who is your godson."
Harry could only stare in shock as he lowed his wand. It took him a second to respond, "It really is you. How is this possible? I thought nothing could bring back the dead?" Remus shrugged, "So did I. All I know is that one minute I'm at the Final Battle and the next thing I know I'm in the Room of Requirement and I am facing this young lady here." He gestured to the young woman standing next to him that Harry hadn't even noticed. He was slipping! He should have noticed her! She had blonde hair in pig tails and wearing a bright pink fluffy dress.
He cautiously raised his wand again and narrowed his eyes at her. Seeing his look, she was quick to reassure him, "Don't worry Harry. I won't hurt you. I actually owe you an apology." Seeing the confused look on his face and the fact that he hadn't lowered his wand, she was quick to explain, "I am Death. I watch over everyone make sure that the people who are supposed to pass on do and the ones that aren't supposed to don't. Unfortunately, I have been distracted and not doing my job as well as I should have. My sister Destiny figured it out and we along with my brother Fate decided that we should bring some people back from the dead. We knew we had to do to it a certain way because you would be wary, which is a good thing. We decided to bring out one person that we knew you know and could figure out was telling the truth quickly. I can even prove who I am, one part of my job is when people decide whether to pass on or not. I watch to make sure that they make the right decision. After you were hit by the Killing Curse in the forest, you met with Dumbledore in what looked like Kings Cross Station."
Harry's mind was whirling around. There was no way anyone could know that. He hadn't even told Ron and Hermione about what happened. If she knew, then she had to be telling the truth. Lowering his wand, he decided to get more information, "How many people did you bring back? What is the catch?" Death smiled at him, "I don't have an exact number. The catch is that their memories stop when they died. They don't remember anything else passed when the died. Even if they have been watching over the living for years. There are some people who have been gone for many years. I was remiss about watching over Magical Britain for many years. Though Fate did find that this was actually meant to happen. So, I apologize for not doing my job, but at the same time it was meant to happen."
Nodding Harry turned the information over in his mind, "Alright. I am going to need help sorting through everything." He gestured for Remus and Death to back up a bit to the shadows before calling out for Kreacher, "Kreacher." A popping noise was the only warning of a body suddenly appearing. Kreacher the house elf, looked up at Harry, "Yes Master?" Harry smiled warmly at the little elf, "Kreacher I'm sorry for waking you. I need you to wake up Ron and Draco for me. Tell them to wake the others and that they all need to meet me here on the seventh floor near the Room of Requirement. If they ask who I mean when I say others tell them I mean our whole group. Also, if they give you trouble for waking them, you have my permission throw cold water on them. All I ask is that you avoid the other person in bed with them." Kreacher nodded and had a small smile on his face, "Yes Master. Kreacher will do as you ask."
Kreacher quickly popped away and Remus stepped out of the shadows, "You're friends with Draco Malfoy?" Harry rubbed the back of his neck, "Yeah about that. It'll be easier to explain after everyone gets here." Remus simply nodded. He decided to try another track of conversation, "You're a professor?" Harry nodded, "After the war, I decided that I didn't want to be an auror after all. After finishing my final year, I applied to be the Defense professor since Bill was only going to do it for a year. I thought Minerva was going to make me get a mastery but she decided that my life counts as a mastery." Remus nodded, "That makes sense."
At that moment the trio heard a shout of, "Potter!" Remus and Death stepped back into the shadows and watched as soaking wet Draco Malfoy stormed over. Harry could barely keep a smile off his face, "Yes Draco?" The blonde man continued to glare at him, "Why did you tell Kreacher to wake me up by throwing water on me?" Harry lost what little control he had and started laughing, "I told him only to do it if you were giving him trouble. Why didn't you dry your clothes before storming up here?" Draco gave a small pout, "She wouldn't let me. She said it was my punishment for being rude to Kreacher. She is alerting the others and then coming up. I can't use a drying spell until she gets here. I'm not stupid enough to argue with her when she had that look on her face. You know the one where she looks at you like you are an idiot and deserve it." Harry nodded, "I know that look well. I grew up with that look."
Before Malfoy could respond they heard footsteps coming towards them. They were soon joined by their friends being led by Hermione. Draco simply gestured towards his clothes and Hermione rolled her eyes but was quick to shoot a drying spell at him. Hermione looked at her best friend, "Harry what is going on?" Harry let out a breath, "You aren't going to believe me Mione. I guess the best thing would be for you all to look yourselves. All I ask is that you don't overreact. I have already determined that they are telling the truth." Ron asked the question that was running through everyone's head, "Who was telling the truth Harry?"
Remus was shocked to see who all had shown up. He recognized the whole group; it was nearly Harry's entire year. There were students there that were from all four houses. He also saw some people he knew were a year younger than Harry. He decided that he should step out of the shadows and let the others know of his presence, "He was speaking about me Ron."
I hope you liked it! How will the others react? Who else has come back?
