Chapter 1

Three Years Later…

"Okay, let's try this again." Lola/Freakazette - currently showing off her pink tracksuit and blue skin - called out as she threw her hammer at a target her family had set up in the backyard.

Lana/Freakazelle - showcasing her own blue skin green tracksuit and red visor - nodded in approval as her twin destroyed the target in question. "Not bad, sis, but check this out!" she declared before taking out a wrench and aiming it at her own target...only for a laser to come out of said wrench and cut the target in half. "We've got the power of the internet at our fingertips: might as well be creative with it."

"You mean, like this?" Lily/Freakabolt - wearing a light blue suit - asked before she summoned a large dog-like creature which proceeded to eat the target that had been set up for her. "Don't worry: I replaced it with dog food while no one was looking."

"Nice one, dude," Luna/Livewire remarked - sporting white skin and a black jumpsuit with a blue jacket and gloves - before zapping her own target with a bolt of electricity. "But I prefer the classics."

"Totes," Leni/Freakarella - sporting spiky hair and a purple jumpsuit - declared with a grin as she too destroyed a target that had been set up using a giant sewing needle that she conjured out of thin air. "Real shame that Lucy has that poetry convention to go to."

Lincoln just smiled as he and his sisters watched all of this go on before turning towards the camera. "Hey, everyone. You might be wondering what we're up to right now. Well, it's been two weeks since my sisters' lives were changed forever by that flawed Pinnacle Chip Lisa brought home, and we thought that now was as good a time as any to get some practice with their new abilities. Lisa herself is currently inside observing from a distance and making sure that she has enough data to accurately gauge their abilities."

Directing his attention back towards his sisters. "You guys are doing great so far."

"You know it, bro," Luna/Livewire declared as she used her newfound electrical abilities to destroy a target of her own. Said blast of energy, unfortunately, proved to be too strong, as it knocked some debris into a pile of junk that they had been using to build new targets, which started to fall on top of Luan.

Fortunately for Luan, someone noticed this. "NO!" Lynn Junior yeled out as she dove to protect her sister, not noticing the green aura that had started to surround her. Everyone else could only stare in shock as a green energy dome surrounded the two, protecting the duo.

Luan could only sigh as the sense of danger passed, even as the debris continued to lay around them. "Thanks for the save...Lynn?!"

LJ, hearing her sister's surprise, looked down at herself in shock, only to groan as she realized that she had become Jade again. "Great: I'm back in this stupid outfit!"

"No need to get jaded." Luan called out before frowning. "But seriously: do you realize how lucky you are? I've been trying to become Kewl Breeze again for days now."

"Well, Roddy MacStew did say that we'd literally need to find the right triggers," Lori said with a shrug. "Perhaps Lynn's determination to literally keep her sister safe was hers."

"So, what, she's basically fueled by willpower?" Lily/Freakabolt couldn't help but ask.

"Who cares about what my powers are fueled by?!" Lynn/Jade exclaimed. "I don't want any sort of powers that have me looking like this!"

"Dude, the costume is just a shell," Luna/Livewire remarked. "You've got the power, so you decide how you use it."

"She's right," Lola/Freakazette declared. "It's like Madam M always said: you can't trash a book because of its look."

Lynn blinked. "Who?"

Leni/Freakarella gasped. "You don't know who Madam M is?!"

"Oh boy, now you've done it." Lana/Freakazelle said with a roll of her eyes even as Lola/Freakazette shared a shocked expression.

"Madame M, aka Mary Masquerade, is our personal hero when it comes to fashion ever since we were little, though admittedly, Leni was the one to first become endeared to her and introduced me into the fandom." Lola explained.

Leni nodded. "She'd always say, 'Beauty is just art that we wear, so call me your sculptor,' and this passion was shown in all of her accomplishments. From patenting the Face-Lifter - a personalized make-up application device - to designing several trend setting ensembles, she was a woman who truly understood that beauty could be found on the inside and outside of an individual."

"Wait, 'was'? Did something happen to her?" Lynn couldn't help but ask in spite of herself.

Lola sighed. "Something did indeed. Madame M's greatest achievement was how she mainstreamed something she referred to as 'The Trashy Look.' Nearly everyone was wanting to have their own big eye, big lips, and rosy cheeks...that is, until someone discovered what was referred to as 'The Dull Look', which emphasized a face with no makeup at all, which quickly became very popular. The sales of Madam M's products quickly plummeted, and Mary Masquerade herself hasn't been seen in three years."

Leni nodded. "That said, just before 'The Dull Look' hit the streets, she made sure to let her consumers know that she was a firm believer that a trashy exterior didn't take away from the shining heart that she believed was in each and every one of us."

Here, the family athlete just shook her head in frustration. "Look, I appreciate what you're trying to do here," Lynn Junior/Jade declared. "But the bottom line is that I doubt anything would look more ridiculous than this outfit."

"Uh girls," their mother, Rita, called out to them from inside the house, having briefly poked her head out the backdoor as she did. "You might want to come in and see this."

"What is it, Mom?" Lola/Freakazette couldn't help but ask as they all came inside through the house's back door, following their mother into the living room as they did. "We're in the middle of encouraging Lynn to accept her powers and her costume. What could be so important that…?"

"If you're just joining us," a news anchor on the TV declared, unknowingly interrupting the transformed pageant girl, "we're coming to you live at the Royal Woods art museum, where they were scheduled to unveil several priceless works of art that had been on loan to us, only to discover that someone had come in and vandalized the entire museum. If you or a loved one is not a fan of seeing artwork like the 'Mona Lisa' or 'The Thinker' defaced, I suggest you look away now."

The camera then panned over to showcase every single piece of art in the museum had been given a trashy makeover, complete with oversized red lips, heavy mascara and purple eyeliner, and visible blush on the cheeks. Needless to say, none of the Loud siblings were amused, even giving a certain athletic sibling a deadpan glare.
"...of course, I've been wrong before." LJ/Jade sheepishly remarked as she finished her thought from earlier.
